UPDATE!!!! Worst Customer Service Ever! Bad practices, lack of communication with poor accountability. I designed my media room centered around the size, color and style of the loveseat. The other items I purchased all went very well together. I made this purchase in August 2025. The Maimz Loveseat with matching Ottoman, 4 Barstools, a Dropleaf Round Breakfast Table with matching 4 Chairs and assorted furniture including a bed, frame and swivel leather chair. Delivered February 21st 2026 They didn't let me know the loveseat would NOT be delivered. They canceled the order. No one knew what happened. It took over a week of me calling them. Finally someone at Corprate said they issued a refund in January, but failed to let me know through a call, text or email. There wasn't any paperwork confirming a refund transaction until March 3rd. Finally received an Email after over 8 phone calls to customer service, the store and the Philippines that the couch was discontinued. So I have an ottoman with no matching couch! Where did the refund money go? No paperwork, transaction number or notification. When asked where they sent it, they didn't know which bank account? Unacceptable follow up with nothing good in email, no detailed information at all. The worst customer service I have ever received . Sold me an an ottoman with no matching couch. That they finnaly issued a pickup for return, but never mentioned my refund! Poor excuse that it was discontinued, I had first dibs on the display couch. This was mine! Where did it go? I'm returning everything I purchased for this room from Ashley. But they are refusing to take back the barstools and Breakfast set. They left me high and dry like an empty airplane with passengers left in the terminal. The customer service is completely unacceptable. If i get one more AI Chat bot from Jenny, I'm going to scream. ---- Review I wrote when purchased: Miss Vivian is the BEST at this Colma location. She got me deals upon deals. I'll never forget the time she spent with me making my purchases, and all of the assisting staff and management. Each and every person and item is Top Notch! Time for a new bedroom set, is what my son said. Why not see what Labor Day Sales are going on. Walking in, it didn't look too busy, then as we walked in towards the beds, a lot of people in the store and all sales people busy. As he looked at the different options, he chose a nice set. We were assisted by William. He explained the different styles and options. Also let us know the value spent gives you added discounts. All purchases include their "White Glove" service, delivery, set up and waste disposal. William provide clarity on their insurance option and its benefits. Overall, my son decided on a very nice bed, 2 night stands and a dresser. This 4 piece came out to a nice deal. Delivery is in 2 days and the entire process was effortless. 0 stars, will never shop here again. I honestly have never met a more incompetent staff. From their call center, to the store staff, nobody knows what they're doing. We ordered a mirror because even though they have it in stock, you can't actually buy anything at the store? Well, the mirror ended up being far too large for the space that we wanted it in. I attempted to return the mirror but guess what? All sales are final. Seriously? So we can't buy anything from the actual store and then we can't return an online order to the store and then they tell me that all sales are final? NOBODY explained this when the purchase was made. I can absolutely assure you that we would not have moved forward with the purchase if we had known that all sales are final. So I call the customer service center which is how I found out that all sales are final. We have 48 hours to return it if it's damaged, otherwise it's ours. Fortunately, my wife escalated the issue to a supervisor who told us they would make an exception and allow us to exchange it, but it could ONLY be processed at a store. My wife goes to the store to process the exchange and the store says...you guessed it....NOPE. I call the customer service number again and am told that even though THEY ARE TELLING US WE CAN EXCHANGE IT, it's up to the store to enforce it and they are within their rights to turn us away. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? Seriously, avoid all headaches and don't shop here. There are so many other better options out there. read more

I wish I could give them zero stars. Here is a warning to you if you are thinking of purchasing anything from this store so you don't have to experience what I did. We ordered a sectional couch from the Colma store. At the time our SA Sylvia told us the terms , one of which she repeated MANY times and was that if an item arrives with damage we could "decline" and they would replace it. Fast forward to delivery day. Our item arrives, the delivery team unpacks it and immediately they say "oh it's damaged" . The arm of the sofa has a HOLE in it. Not minor damage, a big hole. We say please take it back. And the delivery team says "No. Contact the store, but we have to leave it here. We have taken photos and someone will contact you to schedule a replacement immediately". Did we get a call? NO. We called and talked to the store. The store couldn't be more rude. They don't care. They say we shouldn't call them and to call customer service, it's not their problem. Wow! Like great customer service ??!!!! So I call customer service and have to do a BUNCH of back and forth and they want to repair it. Imagine buying a new couch, it's majorly damaged and instead of accountability from the store and an apology and replacement we now have to spend so much time and back and forth calls and emails to be told we could get a repair. Extremely Disappointed - Worst Customer Service Experience with Ashley Furniture I've been a loyal customer of Ashley Furniture for years, but my recent experience has completely changed my perspective on the brand. I am beyond frustrated with their customer service and feel completely disregarded as a customer. I purchased furniture that arrived damaged and was of poor quality--wobbly, cracked, and unfinished. As soon as I noticed the issues, I followed the proper procedure and contacted their customer service within the 72-hour window, as instructed. I have receipts and documentation to prove that I complied with their complaint process. However, despite this, I was given the runaround at every turn. I was passed from one agent to another, and each one repeated the same generic line: "You need to file a complaint within 72 hours of delivery." When I explained that I had already done so, I was told to wait another 72 hours for a response or transferred to yet another department. At one point, I was even transferred to an "online department" that didn't handle my type of issue and was told to go through another team. It felt like they were just dodging my complaint and doing everything in their power to avoid processing a refund or taking responsibility for the damaged items. To make matters worse, a technician was sent to my home, supposedly to help with processing the return. However, I later found out the technician was there to "fix" the furniture -- something I never requested. I made it clear from the beginning that I wanted a return, not a repair. After waiting more than 72 hours for a response, they finally told me they would only process a return for the nightstand and dresser. They gave me a pickup date for the furniture, but they didn't offer any flexibility in choosing a time that worked for me. Everything was on their terms, with no regard for my schedule or needs. It's incredibly frustrating to be treated this way, especially as a customer who has spent thousands of dollars with Ashley Furniture in the past. It seems clear that customer service is no longer a priority for this company, and I'm seriously reconsidering ever purchasing from them again. I would strongly caution anyone thinking of buying from Ashley Furniture to think twice. Their handling of complaints is absolutely unacceptable, and their customer service is horrendous. We bought two recliners ($1,200+ each plus one year warranty) and have not been impressed with them at all! The footrest on one of them became bent and the arm needs to be replaced. That was nearly five months ago! Since then I have had to take photos and email them to Ashley, coordinate with a parts supplier, and then wait. We were told that the parts were going to be delivered to us and that we would have to schedule the service technician once the parts arrived. Today I finally received a notice that the service technician was scheduled and that once the parts arrive I would have to call them to confirm the service schedule. Then I checked the parts shipment and found out that the 45 pound parts were coming from ecru, Mississippi!!!! This chair weighs about 55 pounds so I imagine it's about all of the mechanical parts in the whole chair! The really bad part of this is the snotty attitude, failure to follow up, slow shipping, lack of communication and the whole process was just too clunky. I had a really frustrating experience at Ashley's Furniture in Colma. From the start, I felt like the staff was more interested in making a sale than actually helping me find what I needed. The whole process felt rushed, and I wasn't given much time to think things through. One of the biggest issues was the financing. I was told I was just applying for a pre-approval, but later realized they had gone ahead and opened the account anyway. That was not what I agreed to. I was also looking at a clearance item, but they said they couldn't deliver it themselves. Instead, I'd have to use their third-party vendor, or my own, but when I asked how much that would cost, they had no idea. So basically, I was expected to arrange delivery without knowing the price. To make up for it, they offered to remove the delivery charge from my other items, which was about $560. While that helped a little, it still felt like an unnecessary hassle. Another thing that made the whole experience uncomfortable was the dynamic between the staff. I noticed the manager seemed frustrated with the employee who was helping me, which made the situation feel awkward. It was clear there was tension, and it didn't exactly inspire confidence in the service. On top of all that, we spent about 2 to 3 hours there, going back and forth on pricing and details. My pregnant wife was completely exhausted, and when we finally tried to leave, the staff kept pushing to make the sale. It felt like they were doing everything they could to keep us there, which just made the whole situation even more frustrating. Another issue was their promotions. I was originally told I could get both 20% off and 60 months of 0% interest. But when we got to the final pricing, they changed the terms and said I had to choose one or the other. That kind of bait-and-switch is exactly why I wouldn't recommend shopping here. This led me to check out Living Spaces, especially since Ashley's staff claimed their prices were higher. That turned out to be completely false--I actually found better deals at Living Spaces, and their service was much more straightforward. Since the time we left until yesterday, they have repeatedly reached out to me via phone calls and text messages trying to make the sale. At this point, it just feels excessive and pushy. Great service and fantastic teamwork among the staff members too!! We have been looking for a well-made sofa for awhile... it is a tiring process. We have a small home (and stairs) so delivery is important & Measurement to make sure it will be able to be delivered... is vital. Lots of discussion about exact dimensions, and quality craftsmanship... how long it would take, is it in stock??... Rose and Michael were superstars. They explained everything, both were knowledgeable and helpful. They handled our many questions. And our sofa will get delivered 3/8 -Wednesday- less than a week after we ordered it. We got $200 off the original price, quick delivery and information on exactly what to do if it was not suitable/ damaged etc. we have a customer service number to call. The store is FULL of merchandise, reasonable prices and delivery is +$129. Lots of selection! read more

Scammers! Terrible Experience - Be Very Careful! I went to this store yesterday to buy a sofa set. Brianna helped us with the purchase. We clearly stated multiple times that we wanted two sofas, priced at $1,099 each, and asked about the 25% discount advertised. When I did the math, $1,099 × 2 = $2,198, and with 25% off, the total should've been $1,648.50. Brianna confirmed our math and even said the total for both sofas would be around $1,600, then mentioned an additional 15% discount, bringing it to around $1,400+ including delivery and warranty. That sounded right, so we went ahead with the sale. However, when I checked the invoice later, I saw it was only for ONE sofa! I immediately called the store and spoke with Brianna, who now claimed the price was only for one sofa. I reminded her that I asked multiple times if that price was for both sofas, and she kept saying YES. Then she transferred me to her manager, Sheryl, who was extremely unhelpful and just kept repeating, "You only purchased one." I told her we clearly had a misunderstanding based on what her employee told us, and I wanted to cancel the order because of the misleading communication. Sheryl said, "Okay I'll cancel it," and hung up on me. I received no confirmation of cancellation, so I called again, only to be hung up on a second time before I could even finishing my sentence. This is by far one of the worst shopping experiences I've ever had. Extremely misleading, poor customer service, and now I'm left feeling scammed. Absolutely the worst quality and customer service in the industry. We purchased a sofa bed from them in 2023 which began to deteriorate almost from the day they delivered it. We had purchased the extended warranty from them at the time. About 8 months ago I took pictures of the sofa showing how it was wearing to the store to discuss with them, I was told by the salesman that it was normal wear and tear however if I waited until the extended warranty kicked in, that we should do something to the sofa such as spill ink or bleach on it and file a claim with the company that had the extended warranty. As an honest person, I couldn't bring myself to do this and was shocked that their salesperson was suggesting that I commit fraud so that the store wouldn't have to deal with it. We decided to live with the way it was wearing until we found something better to replace it with. In the meantime, the mechanism for the bed part of the sofa became inoperable. We contacted Ashley and they referred us to the warranty company who said they would send someone out to inspect the sofa within 7-10 days. In the meantime we had the bed part of the sleeper taking up most of the space in the living room during this waiting period. The sofa sleeper was deemed to be a total loss and that they would issue a store credit for the amount of the original purchase. We were told that we could use it at any Ashley store as long as whatever the replacement was cost more than the credit. We were also told that we probably should use the credit at the store of the original purchase since "they were taking the hit of the original purchase". Why should that me my concern??? We found a replacement and ordered it and were told that they would deliver it. We asked if the delivery company would pick up the original sofa at the time of delivery. (Which we were paying $199 for.) We were told that they wouldn't do that and we'd have to dispose of the original at our expense. So let me get this right. They delivered a defective product which we paid $199 to have delivered, we are having to pay another $199 to deliver the new sofa and we are having to spend another $150 to have to he old one hauled off? So because we purchased a faulty product from Ashley we were on the hook for a $350 delivery and haul off fee! This is highway robbery and should be investigated by the California Department of Consumer Affairs. Which I'll be contacting regarding this awful experience. Have bought furniture over the years and I have been happy with the service and quality of their products.

I bought the SimpleJoy loveseat. The first three months I was happy great price and quality I thought. Boy what a waste of money. After that I started having issues the cushions started to have silver speckles coming out every time you sat down. These silver speckles were everywhere. You have to vacuum every day so you can sit down. If these silver speckles comes in contact with your skin you start to itch. Big problem ! I now have to buy a loveseat cover to help resolve the problem. Second issue the cushions have to be pushed in every day or they will fall off. This piece of furniture is made in Taiwan, very poor quality. I don't expect this furniture to last long. Next time I will spend more money and go to higher end retailer who sales quality furniture. I submitted a review on Ashley website but they didn't post because it was not a positive review. This piece of furniture had great reviews but I think they are fake. Do not buy beds from them. I never had a bed that broke in a year. Even wayfair beds are more sturdy than their beds. When we went in to ask if there was anything they can do about it, they said they were unable to pull up our information and we did not get the bed from them. However, we ordered in person directly with a filipino staff that works there. Highly do not recommend Ashely's perhaps go to Ana's furniture or places with stout beds. read more

My wife and I bought a living room set at the Colma Ashley Furthest Store which consisted of a recliner, loveseat and sofa. We had purchased a warranty through recommendations of the sales person for $499.00 because we were concerned about the quality spending $4100.00 + tax. He assured us that it was a solid warranty. He steered us to the faux leather saying it holds up better than leather and is less expensive to buy. We've have had the living room set since January of 2023 and the skin of the faux leather has started peeling and bubbling. It's just my wife and I living and using our couches. Since our children are gone and we live alone we wound up purchasing these couches with the thought they should last us well into our years as I'm now 63. Upon filing a claim to "Protectall" warranty they said it's not covered under warranty because bubbling and peeling is not covered on leather. Sales rep David Toung sold us the warranty and the couch and to say the least my wife and I are not happy. If we were abusing our couch I would understand but we have not. We purchased on a no interest payment plan and we still have 19 months of payments, not happy! read more

Excellent experience from purchase to delivery. We went to the Colma store and Vivian was a responsive sales associate who never pushed but answered all questions. We planned to purchase a loveseat recliner and casually mentioned we were bed shopping. She guided us through their offerings than called Super Manager Mark who closed the deal with an offer we couldn't refuse. After we purchased, I got a bit worried after seeing the bad delivery reviews and considered cancelling. It was impossible to talk to the folks at the store on the phone so we went in and once again, excellent service. Still, I was concerned about delivery but to my surprise that too was seamless. Ashley uses co tractors and we hit the jackpot with CH3Loy's Delivery. Luis was AMAZING. He was timely, professional, and well informed about the items we purchased and he even helped us figure out the remotes for our bed and offered guidance on the best placement for maximum use. Very disappointed. I don't appreciate it when people/companies are less than truthful and not transparent. I purchased multiple items. I was told one was back ordered until August 27th. We've been patiently waiting but I finally called customer service and found out it won't arrive until November. The CS people gave me a case number and when I called my local store I was given the run around. The manager who may or may not be there (the person was playing games on the phone) won't speak to me. I was told she would be in Friday, but not sure what time. I said okay I will come in tomorrow (today is Thursday) and she said "NO she won't be there!" and I said tomorrow is Friday. She did everything she could to discourage me to come in. I told the CS people I want the one on the wall in the store and I'm sure they don't want to give it up just like a carpet that I wanted to buy that was there and supposedly discontinued. I highly discourage anyone from buying from this location. A person should be told they need to wait 3 months for an item. I am going to see if I can reach out the corporate office about this matter and possibly the BBB. The first two shipments were great. The third one was later than expected and this last one is just inexcusable to me. We are trying to finish decorating the room and this is a huge unacceptable delay. I honestly wouldn't have purchased any of the artwork if I was told the truth up front and I'm sure they probably knew it and is why they did not tell me. I couldn't believe Redwood Furniture in San Jose had the Ashley set for 2,239 and the actual Ashley store was selling the same identical set 3,199. My wife was also looking for a new bedroom set for our daughter and tells me there's an Ashley store in Colma now. We go to the store and I ask the manager do you price match, because I see this Ashley set for cheaper. First thing out his mouth was why didn't you order it from them, I replied because it's an Ashley set so I came hear first. Then tells me we only price match Amazon, I stopped talking and stopped my wife from looking at bedroom sets. Left the store and ordered set from Redwood Furniture. Horrible experience. Spent over 4K on new furniture, and was told all items were in stock. Made appointment two weeks out, only for one item to not be delivered. Was told was on backorder. Spoke to over 10-customer service people and no one could accommodate telling me when to expect the item. Drove back to the store, the sheepish sales person who got the commission was NO Help.! In fact he hid from us. The manager and customer service people then told me they now only deliver to our area on Fridays. With no Friday date set I then offered to drive 1.5 hours to the main Dist warehouse, only to find out the store manager HAD NOT scheduled me to show up as he stated he would. Thankfully the local management team did me a solid and got the unit for me; but I had to wait almost 2-hours for that. When I finally decided to pull the trigger, I noticed the price went up so Rose was able to talk to her manager and was able to honor the old price. Definitely made our day! If I could give them less than 1 star I would. Getting them to deliver a dresser to my apartment was a nightmare with their delivery team assigning me dates and times nobody would be home and I called 3 times to make sure the time got changed, was assured everything was fixed and then had 3 missed calls after an appointment I couldn't miss that they were at my house ready to deliver. Well sure enough they left & I rescheduled the delivery for another date. It gets there and when I open the box the whole inside of the dresser is broken and the drawers can't even close. Then they have me submit pictures and a claim. You want to talk to someone about the next steps? Too bad, you have wait 72 business hours for an email back. Get the email and they tell me they're sending out a repair team to fix the dresser (the one that's not repairable hence the pictures I sent in). Well guess what? Assigned me another time I'm not available. Call back to reschedule the repair team coming and ask about them just sending a replacement since it's not repairable. Nope, need the repair team to come. Well here we go again. Repair team comes and is in my apartment for about 2 minutes time telling me it can't be repaired & I need a replacement "ooo the delivery team definitely dropped it" says the repair team. Awesome, did they send you with the replacement? NOPE. Okay well are you at least going to take the broken one so I don't have this huge broken dresser taking up space for god knows how long? Nope. Now have to wait another 72 business hours for an email after the repair man takes his own photos. Well here we are 5 days later and just got another email saying the exchange is approved, & they assigned me another delivery time nobody is home. I call to change it and they tell me I have to wait 24 hours before they can edit the delivery time. This company's an absolute joke. Not to mention I asked if they planned on giving me a partial refund for any of this since I've wasted a stupid amount of hours on the phone with them and waiting around my house for deliveries/ repair team etc. "The best we can do is give you a promo code for $25 off your next order, would you like the code?" HAH! Tell me you're kidding? IF this dresser EVER arrives in one piece I wouldn't order another product from this company if they paid me to do it. Literally. An absolute joke, stand clear of this company, at least for online orders. Unless you plan on going into the store and making sure you bring your furniture home with you on the spot, then don't even bother wasting your time, energy or money on this place. Horrible horrible horrible! The sales man ordered the wrong chairs for my table and when I called 1-800 number they said it's not their problem and I have to call the store. I called the store and the lady there said nothing can be done. So my husband had to go to store in person and talk to the manager. He wants to my husband to take pics and send to the corporate or some other division of Ashley. Why would anyone of us have to do anything to fix their problem!! Plus, the lady on the phone said we can't return or exchange at all for chairs that we didn't order. Please don't shop here. Living spaces is so much better. Wow zero customer service in this store. I'm looking for a new curved style couch and I've been kinda looking at West Elm/Cb2 but saw this store randomly and decided to go in and walk around to look at couches. The lady with black hair in the front was so rude. Not sure how she's working in the front. She asked what I was looking for and when I gave her the size of the couch she said "they don't make couches that size" like are you serious lady?? How untrained can she be, she continued to explain. It was very annoying and unprofessional. I will definitely never walk into an Ashley store again. I literally walked out and left. read more

Ashley Furniture is the worst store ever! The furniture we brought there started coming apart at the seams the first 2 weeks we had it. Three different people came to fix the issues. The last person came and took pictures to submit a claim and we never saw him again. The latest is we need to have our furniture cleaned. The woman that followed us around the store when we were looking at furniture and LIED about everything; and we finally decided to purchase coming said the warranty we purchased can be used unlimited times. Such a BIG LiE!!!!!! I have tried to get our furniture cleaned 3 different times. The last request was denied because they said there were over lapping stains. I said because I have been trying to get your company to come clean it. Sent numerous pictures per their request. Silence........ I called them today for the 4th time and demanded a refund because they have done nothing but gave us a run around. Customers beware of the fraudulent things they advertise! Now we will wait to see if we ever get our refund!!!! read more
