I think I always look lost in stores, as if I've never shopped before. I always feel like when I go to this Target location, it's WAY more awesome than my local Target, and find it necessary to buy something to drag it back home with me to California. I swear it's the way they set up the store, since the exact same items are in all the Target locations. Now that's what I call merchandising! Or is it the way the store is configured? Again, you would think I never left home by the way I react to this place! Friendly staff, great parking, and subliminal merchandising techniques to make you "want" everything you see. Major bonus points for having a clothing section dedicated to all the local pro teams, AND priced well. We don't have a section like that in my hood! One last thing, I am a horrible human being. You see, here in California we have these laws that have been enacted for a few years now, that we no longer have plastic bags given to us. We bring our own recycling bags wherever we go. But if you forget, no worries, you may just purchase a bag for 10 cents. BUT -- the bags are now paper, since California is anti-plastic. (Now before you think we are just a bunch of hippies, just know that places in Europe have been charging for bags for twenty-some odd years). Well --- I MISS those plastic Target bags SO much, I begged the cashier to give me, well ... a whole bunch of them! I'm rolling around on the floor right now on my Target plastic bags like it's money, hoping I won't suffocate on them. Covet those plastic bags people of Chicagoland! If I could give zero stars I would. Didn't seem like anyone was working there, only at the registers. It was worse than Walmart!! All aisles of clothes super messy and the shoes were all disorganized- couldn't even find the size I wanted. Figured maybe I could find it online but I can't. The bathrooms will also stinky, my friend who went in the males bathroom said there was poop on the floor. Nasty the only good thing about the store was the electronics section! Groceries were my priority, the reason I went here to Target, but after buying everything I needed with my groceries, I took the chance to also explore the store, and I found a lot of wonderful things. I went to see interesting items, and there were really a bunch of them. I got to see a great selection of bags, clothes, and accessories. I was really interested in buying, not only because the items are wonderful and of good quality, but also because the prices are fair and reasonable, and I also consider them cheaper than anywhere I can find such good things like those. Mother's Day is near, and I took it as an opportunity to buy gifts for everyone. I want to send deserving gifts like this one. It was really a great deal, and it was also a really great day for me. I am really glad that I decided to buy my groceries here for some reason, and I will gladly do it again for more great purchases. The service is also great. The staff are really friendly and helpful to anyone, despite their being so busy with a lot of customers in the store. I just had a little hard time in the parking lot. The parking is spacious when I parked my car, and it was easy for me, but I had a hard time because of the car next to mine. read more

Last night I purchased an elevated dog bowl for my pomskies. Unfortunately, the bowl I purchased too tall for One of my pups. My husband went to make an exchange for the same item one size smaller. It's been less than 24 hours and we had the receipt. Everything was there, unused and nothing is wrong with the item, it was just too tall so we need to exchange it. Lombard didn't have the 7 inch size, so the guy there said he would give us a credit on a gift card because it was easier, but wouldn't allow us to grab the item and make the exchange then and there. After handing over the gift card credit that was easier for him, I guess it worked out because they did not have the item in store. Instead, we found it at the Villa Park location. When checking out at the Villa Park location, the lady who scanned the gift card and said there was nothing on it. Lombard, IL gave us an empty gift card. I guess that was easier! FOR THEM! My poor husband goes BACK to the Lombard location to talk to the same guy and the guy said there's nothing he can do so we lost $30 on the stupid bowl. And let me say this, my husband is a postal employee and this is his day off! So running back and forth to Target isn't anyone's ideas of rest. So now we have to call the gift card hotline...and we did...but the card we were given was empty. So a mistake by the employee? Or were we given the wrong gift card? I'll never know! And let me tell you, I do not want a gift card. I want my money back on my card because now I've given them over $30. My husband had given them over $30 and we have ONE gift card between us to put back into their store. I called the store multiple times and it rang and rang until it was disconnected. I called the cooperate number and after stating what happened I was apologized to, and then the call dropped. So I don't even want to hear about pandemic volume. He delivers mail and I work in the hospitality industry so we both get it. I'm just not going to be a Target guest anymore because this situation was ridiculous. I'm upset they didn't scan the gift card to check it's purchase history. Instead they tried to act like the 10 minute drive between stores we used it on something else. The employee literally said he couldn't help in case we purchased something. He could've verified it by scanning it! I hope management looks into this team members practices. But seeing as we couldn't reach anyone and the store made a profit on the mistake, I just won't be back. read more

Target has a nifty new feature on its site. It's something that I've seen at competing stores (coughWalmartcough) before but seems to be new to the Bullseye -- ship to store! Or more accurately, pick up at store. Unlike the big Blue W, Target's variety seems to be more like "tell us what you want to buy and we'll get it off the shelves/from the back for you". Here's how it works -- peruse the Target website and look for items that say "eligible for store pickup". Put those things in your virtual cart. Check out and put in your e-mail. You'll get an e-mail when your stuff is ready to be picked up; you have 48 hours to go get it. Just go to the service desk, show ID, and you're all set. The main downside I found is that you can't always specify color on things. On our recent try-out of this we selected a dog bed, collar, leash, and bowls. While we chose the "blue/green" collar and leash, we ended up with red ones. Not a huge deal, but worth noting. It was super-easy to exchange them. You also can't use this on grocery items, which is too bad; that would save me a lot of time. But since this whole thing seems to still be in the testing phase, I can only hope they will expand it as time goes on. read more

This is a pretty good Target. I definitely prefer it to the one on 63rd street in Woodridge and since my mom lives right in between them, this one is just the one we always pick for that reason. Their layout is like the other Targets (that's another problem with that one on 63rd) and they always seem to have what I want when I want it. The employees are friendly and there's always a lot of them around in case you need help. We've had some pretty good adventures here, including the time my mom locked the keys in the car. We had to dick around here for a long time but we got all of our shopping done. In defense of Target, the employees have NO idea when items will be shipped because the company does automatic shipping. I think a lot of large stores are going down this road because it takes the responsibility off of an employee (and you don't have to pay that guy as much). CVS definitely does this, as well. They just automate all of their inventory, so when enough people purchase an item, it automatically replenishes and they receive a shipment. Obviously, this doesn't work very well because shelves sit empty sometimes, but there's not really anything you can do about it. I definitely hated this when I worked at CVS because no one ever knew when a shipment would arrive. Anyway, it's not Target's fault that they don't have an item, they just get stuff whenever a truck brings it. Lame. Anyway, I say come here. It's close to the mall, which adds convenience and there's always a place to park. This Target never seems overwhelmingly packed. read more

I LOVE this Target mostly because it has 3-4 times the amount of clearance my local Target has. This store has massive amounts of stuff on sale that was either sold out at my store or we never even had in stock. I saw a lot of the Altuzarra designer collab there too, although the 30% clearance prices were still out of my price range. The main problem is this place is a disaster--almost like a tornado ran through it knocking over every piece of clothing and shoe in its path. It's not the store's fault because I heard a manager or lead tell all of the employees near the dressing room to go clean up the shoe area. I had earlier gone to shoes only to be frustrated that a bunch of people had deserted a bunch of shoe boxes in the middle of the aisle. People were having issues getting around it with their carts. I just decided not to even deal with shoes and moved on to clothes. I come to this Target quite often and everyone that's ever rang me up has been nice. I do find it tough to find things though since this store is so big, but that's a learning curve I'm willing to deal with. read more

I admit, I made myself somewhat of a target what with my Tony the Tiger reusable shopping bag. In the end though, any anxiety I may have faced walking in the door would soon be washed away by the 5¢ off the transaction I received for having said reusable bag, AND by a smiling friendly cashier named Sam. We exchanged polite awkward smiles while she took care of the woman in line before me. Then came my turn, and I timidly announced I had my own bag. It quickly became a conversation piece; guess Sam's fav cereal was Frosted Flakes, and her addiction to the sweet stuff was cause for much ribbing by her family. I explained I received the bag as a gift due to the all-too-obvious connection to my name, and she volleyed back that she has acquired quite the Dr. Seuss/Green Eggs and Ham collection herself. Well played, Sam I Am. Did I mention Target sells stuff, too? Normally I wouldn't bother finding out, cuz I'm generally not a fan of entering places where you can pick up swim trunks and strawberry milk under the same roof (ahem, Super Wal, I'm looking in your direction). But somehow, Target seems a little less dirty, a little less backwards. Perhaps, a little sexy? Speaking of, single dudes should flock here. This Target will be henceforth known as the "Apocalypse Target." I arrived in the area early prior to a Yelp event, and I needed to pick up a make-up bag for travelling anyway. As I arrived in the Yorktown area, I pulled up my Yelp app and was so thrilled to see that Target is located in the mall loop! What an awesome location! When I got here, the whole parking lot was dark. Target? Closed? At 7:30 p.m. on a weekday? It can't be. There were a lot of cars in the parking lot. One side of the entrance was totally blacked out. The TARGET sign was blacked out. Many of the lightposts in the parking lot were, you guessed it, blacked out! There wasn't a storm in the area, so maybe some maintenance guys are slacking, I don't know. This Target seemed kind of...dirty. Perhaps it was the dim, K-Mart style lighting. I didn't browse much here aside from the cosmetics. Everything in this section is well-stocked. I did purchase a make-up bag with a green/brown mod floral print for $30, which seems steep to me, but since I am travelling in...2-3 hours from now...I didn't care. I was just happy there was a variety and I didn't have to purchase some teenybopper bag with peace signs on it. Some of the employees were sort of hooting and hollering at each other, mostly younger girls, between the registers and clothing directly across from the checkouts. Whenever I see/hear anything in a store that I know I would've been reamed for when I worked in retail, but these kids get away with it, I wanna slap these kids! The location is so ideal and convenient to Yorktown mall. But turn on the lights! read more

So I'm ready to check out and I'm in line at the self-check out line waiting to scan my stuff I have both of my kids each of them have a toy scan them and scan my 8 other items and bam! Fred the worker comes to me and says did you scan that you! Points at my daughters toy....I look at him and I told him excuse me....this is the checkout section right....didn't respond or anything ....I let him have it call him a racist.....he is stereotyping me because of me being Latino and have tons of tattoos! At this point I'm boiling and I'm ready to unleash the beast.....a customer says to me excuse me sir can you watch your language.....I told her first amendment lady the rights that I have. I finish and I go and talk to a manager Patrick tell him what happen and he says to me I apologize and I will have a talk with him. BS....let me tell you I don't shop at Walmart I give Target all my business.....but if I don't hear from a manager higher then Patrick and a apology I will take my business somewhere else. I was shopping all day today in the malls and found the same stuff here for tons less and way cuter. 2. Thank you Target Starbucks for selling FRUIT for 19 cents a piece! I was starving and threw in a banana and an orange with my coffee. Whose the man?! 3. If you're pregnant, this is the new IKEA - I can't tell you how many pregnant women were bonding and making friends. ***ELECTRONICS REVIEW ONLY*** My husband was out looking for a 70in that was on sale for $1038.00. He was at the location in Hillside. The manager called here and was advised they had only the floor model & would take off 30% if we wanted it. Well when I arrived to pay for it & went to electronics the kid working back there was very discouraging with his selling me this tv. Stating oh its no remote, it's no box, it's been playing for a yr continuously. I'm like look kid it's my tv & I want it now! Then they say well if it's purchased now it has 2 be taken we can't hold it 2 give you time 2 go home & get your truck..WHAT A CROCK!!!!! So I leave, go get hubby & our truck & we head back. We're attempting to purchase when the manager Megan asks who authorized 30% it was insane they only do 10-15% blah blah blah but she was advised that a manager ok'd the sale and she continued w/the authorization. 2 stars for the $700 price of a 70in!!!!! I'm going to give away my secret. I often come here on Saturday mornings around 8 a.m. Why? Because nobody else does. Normally this place is packed and there are lines of people waiting to check out, but at my secret morning shopping period the shelves are neat and clean, the aisles are empty and the cashiers are just waiting for me to make my purchases. Overall, this pretty up there with my favorite Targets. The selection is a bit more sparse than some of the less busy stores, but I blame that on its prime location and heavy traffic not on the store itself. The staff is always helpful and friendly and that makes for a good start to my weekend plans. read more

Target is not an embarrassing place to shop. Seriously, when did it get this good? I'm also not ashamed to say I love Payless now for the same reason--they've really upped their quality. When it comes to accessories, I am a maniac. Scarves, earrings, bags, umbrellas, arm warmers, leg warmers, gloves, SOCKS oh my god socks, leggings, tights....this won't end any time soon. They have everything I'm looking for to complete an outfit or create one. Their clearance accessories are insanely discounted. I wouldn't go as far to say that their clothes are top notch. This probably isn't fair: but I primarily rate this Target based on the fact that it is the best entrance into the Yorktown Shopping Center. Seeing a movie at AMC? Sneak out through the Target parking lot at the end to avoid the backup along the main road. Entering the Yorktown mall or going to dinner at DMK? Sneak in through Target and get at that mall through the JCPenny entrance. Honestly, Butterfield is a nightmare many times, especially because it is always seemingly under contraction. Being able to sneak in through Target makes shopping excursions more bearable. As a result I end up at Target a lot because it happens to be on the way to all of the above for me. Going to a movie? Buy some movie candy at Target. Unexpectedly sunny? Buy some cheap sunglasses to get you through the rest of the day. Wardrobe malfunction? Target can help in a pinch. All of these things have happened for me and Target has helped with all of them. It's kind of a fix all for last minute needs, gifts, what have you. As far as locations go, this is my favorite, too. read more

I don't come to this target as much as I would like but its a lot better than the one by where I live. Is rather come to this one for sure. Its a bit bigger and has a better and bigger selection on everything. Its clean and spacious and anything is easy to find. I usually go to the electronics and book section and its very spacious. The staff is always helpful. I'm just happy I work near this target so I can come here instead. Def worth the trip. read more

This Target location is not only clean, but it's huge! There is an extensive frozen food section with lots of variety (frozen smoothie mixes, perogis, vegetarian pizzas, etc.) and a spotless women's clothing section. I have NEVER before been in a Target where all the clothes are on the racks, organized correctly, and have more options! No matter when I visit this Target it's massively busy. I was in the area headed to Oakbrook, though, so this was the most convenient one. I needed to get a price adjustment on some items. 10 to be exact. Since Target doesn't release their circular early, I had no idea when I bought things on Saturday that they'd be on sale the next day. Frustrating. But the sales associate at guest services was fast and friendly. She didn't make me physically return and buy back each item. Instead she just used the receipt. Thank goodness. I ended up getting $12 back. Nice. They loose a star because they don't sell beer here, which most Targets do. I happened to have a 20% off a 6 pack Cartwheel coupon But they still get props because they carry NYX Butter Gloss. This gloss is moisturizing, smooth, and has amazing color payoff. Best lip gloss for the money for sure. read more

Why is it that every time I leave Target I've spent $100? Go in to buy a birthday card, spend $100. Shampoo, $100. I love this store but I've cut back to going once a month because I can't resist all the good stuff in here. It's discount shopping without the Wal-Martiness...Wal-Martity...Wal-...well, you get the idea. I do actually prefer the Super Target on Diehl Rd. in Warrenville, which is why this one gets only 4 stars. This one never seems to have enough checkers, but I'm usually there on a Saturday so that could be the issue. This location always seems to have items out of stock, specifically bagged vegetables and frozen Kodiak pancakes. If these items are so popular, why aren't they ordering more? The bagged vegetables are Target-brand. Also, they need to put an item limit on the self-checkout because there are many times when people who have a bunch of items are holding up the line when they should be using the regular checkout. read more

I don't like this specific Target very much. Its not very convenient and the parking lot always seems dirty. The layout inside seems kind of counter-intuitive. I don't know why but this Target seemed to have a ridiculously high amount of crying children. I am not a fan of crying children, therefore I'm not a fan of this Target. Also the few staff members I've dealt with were neither friendly nor ultimately helpful. There is another Target roughly the same distance from me, I'll stick to that one. read more

My new apartment is equidistant to this Target and the one off 83: neither close, both routine stops. It's kinda funny how, while both stores are virtually identical in size and layout, a few thoughtful touches can make the world of difference. For one, this store is slightly larger, slightly more organized, with two entrances and traditionally laid out check out lanes. And a Starbucks! I wish I could give a zero rating because that is what is deserved. I live across the road from the Target at Yorktown. I do a lot of my shopping there. I'm there almost every day for years. Today I tried to buy some wine and liquor. I left my ID in the car and just grabbed my credit card. I'm 60+ years old and they wouldn't sell me liquor without an ID. I told them I'm in there every day and I buy liquor all the time and all they ask is my birth date. She called the manager and - no - they won't sell me liquor without an ID because they don't want to lose their liquor license. Really??? I'm over 60 years old!!!!!! Another freedom taken from us. Another dictatorship rule. This is communism in my book and I will never shop there again. She told me to go and get my ID and come back and she won't make me wait in line again. I told her I'm going to Jewel or any liquor store who doesn't require an ID from senior citizens and I want to go somewhere where there is no dictatorship or communism. I'm still an American citizen in a free America and I refuse to let them take away another of my American rights. Ludicrous!!! read more

I love that it opens late (11pm) on most days of the week and closes at 10PM on Sundays. Their store has something you're bound to find and the employees are usually friendly. Now they have a grocery section, it's not a Super Target, but the amount of produce they had before compared to what they have now is nice. This store is usually pretty good about maintaining short lines at the checkouts and has a fairly friendly staff. read more

I heart Target. It's clean, it's always well stocked and the prices are just right. I've bought everything from clothes to purses to sunglasses here. You can't beat the prices and they come out with really cute items. Their card section is pretty solid too. It's huge and you're sure to find something for any occasion. They also just added a produce section to this one and I must say, it's not too shabby. Its stocked well enough for me to be able to "grocery shop". The only downer is their pharmacy hours, but that's what we have Walgreens for. read more

I ran into target for a scale on my way to my parents for din in the burbs...got completely off track wandering their clothing section and had my arms piled high. The lady took one look at me and announced '6 items ONLY'. no prob...walked out of there w/4 tops and 2 dresses, for under $80. and I'm a bit of a clothing snob and this stuff is CUTE. To begin with, I want to make clear this is a review of the pharmacy, not the whole store. We are refugees from the Dominick's pharmacy, and we chose to bring our business here because they are walking distance from our condo. EVERY visit there has been an issue - and that's without considering the fact that I figure I need to pay cash...just in case they haven't plugged the security hole. I found the pharmacy staff on the whole to have a decent attitude, but aren't particularly competent. On one visit, they took 15 minutes to sort out how to ring me up, and then eventually sent me to a regular register which opened up a whole different can of worms. Their automated telephone reminder system doesn't call until 2 days after your prescription is ready, and doesn't recognize it has gone to voice mail...so, you get home, and have a voice mail that has a couple of word message because their system was playing while our VM was playing. We only figured it out by checking our caller ID - at least it does identify it's from Target (in Minneapolis). My last visit was most disturbing. I had been told the auto-refills process on the same date every month. I went to pick up a prescription and the girl looked for it for 10 minutes before putting it in as a re-do, and then found the original in the pile that the pharmacist was working on. When I commented on the fact I'd been told the scrip would be ready that day, he was chucking about the situation, and followed it up with the "gum-shoe" look - you know, when they look at you like you're a piece of gum on the bottom of their shoe. (I normally think of it as the "dog crap" look, but I didn't know if that meets Yelp guidelines). ;-) So...I'm torn. The store is convenient, but we're not talking about someone not ringing up a bag of chips - we're talking about medicines. Really disappointed - as long as you don't need medicine, it's an OK store. read more

Went into Target recently and was taken aback by the MESS! Almost every aisle was blocked by boxes or carts full of merchandise waiting to be shelved. Not surprising as I noticed several employees out front smoking and wasting time. The handful of employees inside were not happy and it's probably because they were the only ones working. It honestly looked like a tsunami hit the Christmas department and also the Customer Service area. I can only imagine how much money this store loses on a daily basis. I truly feel sorry for those who are actually working and carrying the load. The most surprising thing was how casual management and some employees were as the stood around talking. If I managed this store, I would at the very least make sure it's presentable; especially around holidays. But nobody seems to care.... read more

Ok, I love this store. The store is clean and well stocked. I have to give kudos to John I. in the electronics department. He is extremely helpful and patient. Usually when I go to the electronics department in a Target, Kmart or Walmart, you have to search for help or the employees are playing around and ignoring customers. John approached us and went above and beyond. I love excellent customer service and I am now a big fan of this Target!! You have a bright future John, keep it up. read more
