This Target is always clean at least. But the lines to check out are usually outrageous. They understaff every weekend, so avoid prime times and Saturday-Sunday if you can. The express lane took 15 minutes yesterday, and people were lined up into the women's clothing for the three open regular lanes. Absolutely absurd when you consider the fact that is is more common than not. The people who are working try to be friendly, but they look so exhausted it is obviously just putting on a happy face to get through it. At least the store is clean and I can find what I want. I go here out of the lesser of 2 evils. Here or driving further down RT 59 to get to Wal Mart. I don't know why I just don't go to the one in Warrenville any way. If that tells you anything. I've only met 2 workers there that I would consider have true customer service. The rest are there to fill a spot. Managers included, they just have poor attitudes. Super Targets are the best. This is the one that I frequent most often. It used to be a regular Target, but it was remodeled a few years back into a Supertarget. It's clean, the staff is nice, and they almost always have everything that I want in stock. Their prices for the items I buy are cheaper than other grocery stores. I purchase a lot of vegetarian items, especially Amy's Kitchen frozen foods. They also have an extensive array of organic fresh produce available at decent prices. My obsession when it comes to this store is the muffins in the bakery department. I don't know why I am so enamored with them, but I cannot leave the store without buying at least one. They are available singly for $1.29, or as a 4-pack for $3.99. It's a toss-up between the chocolate chip or the cranberry nut as to which is better. They also make a killer danish since it has a croissant-dough base, and the fresh bread in the bakery department is also quite good. One other cool thing that I have found at this location is Beecher's Flagship Cheese from Seattle. It was in the cheese case next to the deli. I am a huge fan of Beecher's and cannot believe my luck finding the cheese in Illinois! It was expensive, but worth it! I hope I see it there again. read more

This is the closest Target to me so I frequent this place pretty often. It has a great selection of items and really does seem to be my favorite Target in the surrounding area. I never buy produce here though and this is my unfortunate story reminding me that the extra drive to Trader Joe's is never too far out of my way. It was the week of Thanksgiving, I was already in Target buying other things and I was in a hurry so grabbed a bag of potatoes since I didn't want to head to Trader Joe's JUST for potatoes. BIG, HUGE mistake! When I got home I noticed a rotting fish smell. I didn't buy fish, but yep, the potatoes were soaked in a smelly fish juice. OMG, how did I and the cashier not notice this in the store? I have no freaking clue, but in my kitchen I continued to gag until I got this nasty bag of potatoes in my garage in a plastic bag. (Can you imagine a 4 month pregnant lady trying not to hurl? It was a pretty traumatic experience to say the least) Anyway, my husband returned them the very next morning. The customer service person apologized and told him someone will go over to inspect the area to make sure no one else buys rotting, infected, nasty potatoes. I'm glad, at least, they were going to make sure of this. I think if they had better quality control over their produce, this would have never happened in the first place. Especially since this is one of the busiest weeks of the year, I can't believe they weren't taking better care of their food for sale. Just eww. Overall, I give two stars because some employees are willing to help, others seem to just not care. I wish the cart wipes were always stocked, they are usually empty. The selection of items is great and I always find what I'm looking for. But I think it will be a LONG time before I even walk through the produce department again. read more

This is my "go to" for picking up a few grocery items during my lunch break. I can get in and out of the store fairly quickly (except for being distracted by the cosmetics section). The express checkout is always open during this time, and the line is usually short. I love the Market Fresh brand of items. Some notable triumphs are: the spinach and goat cheese frozen pizza, frozen macaroni & cheese bites, red velvet cupcakes (although I don't know that they carry these anymore), trail mix, chips, salsas, and a wide selection of deli sandwiches. I wouldn't do my regular grocery shopping here, because they don't have everything. But it's worth an occasional visit for Market Fresh brand items. I tried the California roll today, for 12 pcs it was $6.49. This is the first time I've tried sushi outside of a restaurant, and while it's better than a lot of Cali rolls I've had, it lacked some flavor. It came with a packet of wasabi, but I tossed it out. It suited my sushi craving though for a relatively low price. There's a Starbucks inside too, but sometimes there's no one behind the counter, or they are so far behind the counter they can't see/hear you approach. I actually like this store a little better than the one on Route 59 in Plainfield. read more

Naperville benefits from a number of awesome Target stores in myriad directions. Throw a stone and you'll hit one, basically. This one sitting smackdab in the midst of Route 59's shopping district endures the brunt of shoppers slipping off I-88, fleeing Aurora, and descending from Plainfield and Naperville. Somehow it remains a rather tidy store, a monumental task for the red shirt employees who work here. As a SuperTarget, it has a full grocery section to compliment the extensive clothing, household, and electronics departments. You really can get almost all you want here. To be fair, the competition from nearby Walmart, Meijer, and Kohl's demands that good ol' Tarjay keep it a cut above. Though word of caution for people coming in here in search of limited edition items, clearance goods, or something in a specific size. Use the website before you make a trip just for that, if it's important. Popular runs, like Target's designer collections, invariably disappear first from this Target rather than anywhere else. Finding a size 8 shoe is like mining for diamonds in a coal pit, full of desperate, wild-eyed women ready to turn on you with a flimsy Mossimo stiletto. Sizes M and L sell out like nothing, and XXL and XS tend to rule the ladies' departments. Rain cheques can be fairly common but staff will accommodate you as best they can locating it elsewhere. But if you can get past that, this Target offers pretty much everything you might want in bright, shiny circumstances. You've got no fear of a dingy, ugly store. Naperville wouldn't settle for it, who are we kidding? The parking lot is huge, the lights inside bright, and crimson legions forever on the move to make the place look nice. Target was having a sale on a item that was buy 4 to get the sale price. The store only had 2 of the items I wanted. Spoke with a manager by the name of Angela and explained the situation she stated that it is Target's policy that if the sale is for 4 you have to buy 4 or you don't get the sale price. I left that Target only to go to another Target and again I had the same issue the store only had 3 of the 4 items I wanted. The manager happily gave me the sale price and apologized for the ignorance of the other store. I lived in Naperville for several years and always went to this Target. Will never step foot in this Target and I will let everyone I know exactly the kind of manager Angela is and the kind of employee this Target employs.... read more

I am here sometimes a few times a week! It's very close to my work so if I ever need anything on my lunch break or on my way home this is where I stop. Everything is always very clean and the shelves are always stocked. Sometimes there aren't enough check out lanes open so that's why I gave four stars. This is a Target, so by default it is amazing. It's a staple for dry food goods, sweatshirts, toys, shoes, etc. However, I don't buy meat here because it seems a bit shady, ya'mean? This is definitely my choice Target for the area (sorry, Bolingbrook!), however, I hate hate hate the intersection on Jefferson. Trick of the trade: when leaving Target, if you need to go left out of the Jefferson intersection consider this: - go out of the other side of the parking lot to the Meridian Parkway. Take that to either Ambassador drive or take it all the way until it becomes Fort Hill. It might be less direct, but you'll save yourself like 50 gray hairs from stress. We have to give 5 stars to Target for letting us use their café to test out the electric tea kettle from C&B Outlet. It was just across the street from C&B Outlet without travelling too far. There is some road construction but nothing too serious which would cause much delay in travel. Also, there is an ATM from Allpoint would does not require a fee. read more

This is my #1 favorite Target store in DuPage county. It has a full grocery section for all our pantry needs. The produce isn't half bad, except for some of the fresh herbs and vegetables located in the refrigerated case adjacent to the flowers. Sometimes those herbs, leeks, kale, and other greens aren't as fresh as I'd like them to be. Excellent clothing section and makeup/perfume/personal hygiene collection. The men's and ladies undergarment sections seem much better stocked than other stores. Great homewares ranging from staples such as linens to furniture and accessories for your home. I especially love the large, seasonal section towards the back, right-hand corner that's always a destination to see what's new and fresh. I wish prices were a little lower, but clearance time can't be beat. read more

Almost everything I own, from head to toe and ceiling to floor, comes from Target. And, over hundreds of shopping trips over five years, from this Target specifically. Even after I move more than 40 minutes away, I will continue to come here. Flash-forward to its upgrade to Super Target, I'll say the inventory is rotated regularly and the management generally pays enough attention to its customers that it orders more according to their demands. The grocery section is well-stocked with everything you need (and plenty you don't), the clothing section has something new come in almost every week, and the holiday section is converted to a Costco/Sam's Club-like sales club when it's not a holiday. I've chatted with several of the employees at checkout, and over time they've even remembered me. It's been the highlight of my day many times to check in on them, they're a real delight. I never had a problem with this Target or any Target before until this morning. I felt harassed because I am an Asian American. I waited in line and was waiting for the older man in front of me to enter the store. The older man had a question for the young man working the entrance. I waited patiently then I entered. As soon as I entered, this tall white women with brown hair accused me of not waiting. This same woman waited for me to exit the store after I was done shopping. I felt extremely harassed and disrespected. I never had a problem before this incident. People who shop here seem to be in a coma. No one moves out of the way, children are crying at the top of their lungs and the employees are always pissed off at the world. I love every single Super Target - you can say I have secret love affair with Super Target. I can spend days there and never tire of it. I get all caught up by the dollar items - picking up cutsey slippers, pens, pads of memos, recipe cards, plastic patio plates, batteries, flowering seeds - all for A DOLLAR! My god children must think I'm made of money the way I fill their sacks with goodies. The grocery section is awesome - since I usually hit Target on my lunch break I can't really buy fresh meat or frozen stuff but I do stock up on dry goods, pasta, snacks, fruit, breads, pop, booze, toiletries, cleaning products. As I pass the clothes section I am immediately drawn to the racks of clearance items -- sometimes I can snatch up a cool shirt for a few bucks, tanks, workout gear, socks, bras, sunglasses, sandals, boots, AHHHHHH!!! I remember, about ten years ago, a week rarely passed without a trip to Target. That was back when the first thing I did when I got the Sunday paper was excitedly search for the Target add. Something has changed over the years and I only frequent a Target one to three times per year. Maybe it's because my kids grew up. As they grew, Target always carried necessities, from diapers to bath towels,... and fin stuff like cute kids' clothing or toy gifts for birthday party presents. Back to the present,...tonight I went to this particular Target with one of my adult daughters. We were doing some last minute Christmas shopping. Since tomorrow is Christmas Eve, I dreaded the parking lot, the crowds inside, the picked- over messes. Yet, I am pleased to say that I did not find any of the above. It was an overall pleasant and fruitful shopping trip! The fact that Target is generally not as popular as it once was could have been the reason. Like myself, a lot of people buy a lot online nowadays. That being said, I was at Costco earlier in the day and that place nearly induced a panic attack in me. It was chaos. I can just say that Target was busy tonight, but it was handled beautifully. In spite of slushy melting snow outside ice, the store was clean and orderly. The lines to check out moved swiftly and the cashiers were still able to smile and help spread holiday cheer. I'm fairly certain I won't wait as long in-between Target visits next time! read more

All of the Targets I go to are all clean and well lighted. We were out of town and I needed a few things. This Target was noted as a superstore. This was the day before Christmas and the parking lot was full. This store was easier to find things in compared to other Targets I have used because it was all open (no floor to ceiling walls) and had signage over each department. I could just look up to find the sign that I needed. However, once in the correct department, I was not able to find an item I was looking for, so I asked an employee in that department and she told me the location of it. I was unable to find the name brand I normally buy, so I checked on line review on my phone to select a brand from what they had. Once I had all of the items to buy, I proceeded to the checkout, also easy to find! This store had one long row of checkout counters verses the front and back style I usually encounter at our local targets. It was easier to find the shortest line with this configuration and I was done checking out in a short amount of time. I hope they change our local stores to this configuration. read more

Two stars are because it has the grocery section. Im often profiled here, followed, and watched over. They make a shopping trip that is always a bit stressful with two small children awful. I'm going to guess that they believe they're doing their job to be aware of certain types but just because I don't get fixed up (I clean up quite nice btw) and my skin is darker, it doesn't mean I should be followed and made to feel this way.
