I came here a couple of times to grab birthday supplies and I was so happy that Union Square got a Target at last. Not really a fan of this location because it is not a superstore like the ones in the suburbs. It still does a good job with the aisles of groceries and household goods. It is not that big on fashion and toys as the superstores. They still got the clothing styles that are the biggest hit in fashion today but the small size is always sold out. I only spot large or medium sizes. They still got a good amount of snacks and your basic household cleaning supplies in stock like the lemon and fresh scented wipes are plenty in this Target. You can either buy them in bulk or individual. It is big on the popular and most highlighted cosmetics in today's cosmetic world when you reach the back of the Target. They have aisles dedicated to the best cosmetics and hygiene products that a lot of girls are in these days like EOS body wash and lotion are in stock there. They also got a lot of popular brands that Target carries like kitsch, up&up, limited and exclusive Dove products, Olly, Method, Naturium, Olay, Native and many more. Target always has the limited edition of products for these brands that you cannot find anywhere else. This location does not have baby products or baby clothes when I came here so that was a bummer. This location has a lot of arts and crafts like the Mondo Llama collection of arts and crafts for sale. They are mostly $5 for one box of arts and crafts. It is all paper and glittery. They always have arts and crafts dedicated to a holiday. This time the Easter collection contains egg painting and photo frames that you can create from scratch. These arts and crafts are just used once and afterwards you recycle the craft you created. Some of them are wall art that you can hang. They also got some knitting a blanket activity and paintings with a guide that you can buy and fun with. This location has many self checkout kiosks in addition to cashiers when checking out. It is only one floor big. Many small shopping carts available to grab by the entrance. This location got no bathrooms because it is a small store. read more

Very large target in Midtown, not far from Union Square. The store is well lit and well stocked. Most shelves were full with product one afternoon on a Monday. We checked out a few home accessories to get for some friends and the selection was plentiful. read more

Have stopped by here at this Union Square Target a few times when I'm in the neighborhood. Although not the biggest Target, very convenient and has spectacular hours, being open 7 days a week until 11 PM!!! (Why does the Harlem Target nearest to me close at 8 PM, 1 hour earlier than the Trader Joe's below it... totally inconvenient!!!!!!) Always love to come stroll around in Target. It's a located at union square. Very convenient location. It's clean. Not a big target but it has all the essential items. Grocery, bakery, snacks, drinks, home items etc. Staff is very helpful. They usually come over quickly if you push the service bell. Search on the app for coupons, it helps bring down the price. I think I've definitely and finally found my favorite Target which's this newly-opened one here in Union Square. Conveniently located right off the bat from the Union Square/4th Ave entrance/exit. It's right above when you take the escalator up to street level. Strolled inside for a good 10 mins just to get the feel of it. Aisles are wide enough to walk through without bumping into strangers who'll give you hard stares and dirty frowns if your shopping cart happens to bump into theirs by accident. Shelves are neatly stacked coordinated by colors, I wish my local Target would categorize products like that. The lighting is just right, not too bright that will hurt your eyes or too dimmed that you can hardly read the nutrition facts off food labels. Looks like there's a large selection of food and drinks varying by all different brands, countries and flavors. What has caught my eyes the most is probably the Target toy shopping cart centered right in the middle of the aisles. Can't miss it. Pretty cute. I'll be honest when I first heard that there was a Target that opened up where the Food Emporium in Union Square was, I was a bit confused since there was already a Target a couple of avenues over in the East Village. It's nice to have a Target that is slightly in a more central area like Union Square than Alphabet City. I made my first visit to the Union Square Target and it was as what you would expect it to be given the location as others on Yelp have noted. You will not find an extensive list of products that you would find on their website or in say in Washington Heights or in the other boroughs. But it's fairly comparable to the Target in the Lower East Side in terms of size and selection of products with groceries and some electronics and home items. I do like that it is open fairly late (until 11pm), which feels like a throwback to pre-covid when things in New York were open past 9pm/10pm. Like with other Targets, there are lot of self-check out areas and the option to pick up items ordered online. The prices seem consistent with what you find at a Target. read more

Came here for some quick travel items. The top floor was great but the bottom was ehhhh. The line to the bathroom took more than 20 minutes. They only had one single bathroom. Additionally, the bottom floor still had employees stocking. Half the aisles were pull carts with boxes mid-day. It was a little difficult moving around the bottom floor and we ended up just leaving the line to the bathroom and went somewhere else. read more

I live in New Jersey nowadays so whenever I go to a New York City Target I have to remind myself that most of them are not going to be the same as the standalone ones that I visit out in Union County, NJ. Sometimes, even if a Target in NYC takes up a good amount of space, the individual sections you go to can be rather small. Such is the case with this newly opened Target in Union Square. This space used to be a supermarket for decades, but it is now one of the newest Targets in Manhattan. I went during the first week of the store being opened, so everything was nicely organized and the employees were all on point minding the aisles in a way you don't often see at other Target stores. As I walked through the aisles I noted that every section was much smaller than its equivalent even in other locations such as the one in Times Square. This of course, will mean that selection will be limited. I was hoping to find a gift for my niece and they did not have anything in the toy section that would have suited her. That said, I do think this Target's strength is its location and the convenience factor. If you need housewares, something quick for your apartment or maybe even just a quick snack or drink then this is a great place to drop by. It's nice to see this space filled once again and I hope this Target meets with much success! read more

This is a basic Target without clothing so be advised. Store is large, clean, with ample staff,and usually fully stocked unless the freezer is out which has happened twice so call ahead. Though if freezer is out one can ask staff for an item and usually available from the back supply area. read more

This is literally the dumbest Target I've ever set foot in. I understand it's a small format store so the selection is going to be more curated. However, this Target is literally a glorified supermarket with a drug store section and a small housewares and electronics section. No clothes. Both things I wanted to buy were locked up - and it seemed like the employees were wildly varying in proactivity. The girl in the toiletry section was great "You need anything unlocked? Let me know when you do" - the guy in the electronics section walked past me three times after I hit the stupid assistance button and still needed me to say "hey I need something unlocked" and then proceeded to tell me he had to bring the item to the register and I could pick it up when I was done shopping. It was a $20 phone accessory, not a video game, not a phone itself - ridiculous. If I'm downtown and need to go to Target I'll go to the one by Essex Street or I'll order store pickup. That's the only way I would be able to stomach shopping here. The aforementioned location south of Essex Street and the location by Columbus Circle is how you do a small format Target correctly. read more

this Target feels new but it has been at Union Square for months now. it occupies the space of the old grocery store that was next to one of the main subway entrances of the Union Square. this Target feels focused mostly on groceries, but it has a bunch of household goods, home decor stuff, electronics, and more. have stopped by here a few times. the store is well maintained and organized despite the heavy foot traffic. the self checkout area is large so there's never really line. overall, a convenient Target if you live in Union Square area or travel through that area a lot. read more

I stopped by before meeting my friend for lunch. The Target is bright and clean. The aisles were a bit smaller and they had a smaller selection but I was able to find what I needed. They have a huge self-checkout section but no cashiers are available. The pricing is on par with other Targets in the area. read more

I usually have a great experience at this Target location. However, when I stopped by this evening I placed my hand on the sensor for a nearby sales associate to open the glass door for me to purchase vitamins. Two sales associates passed right by me and did not acknowledge my existence. And there were four Target employees fraternizing in the next aisle. This is not acceptable. Pretty cool well stocked Target with clothing , beauty & health supplies and etc , I usually shop at one near the World Trade Center on Greenwich street when I'm in Manhattan , There have an Allpoints A.T.M on premises. The staff are really helpful . If I'm in the 14 street location I'll definitely would stop here bought some toothpaste , and there was assistant to help me . P.S. : My Starbucks cafe' lovers there no Starbucks on premises , but there do have a starbucks & dunkin bottle in the freezer section , and plus there a Starbucks cafe' literally around the corner !!!! Want to get kicked out of the store for absolutely no reason at all? Want to be approached by rude and incompetent employees who think you are shoplifting for no reason whatsoever? Then this is the place for you. My son was with a few of his friends there on the evening of 3/7/2025, trying to buy a bottle of Chobani when suddenly he was approached by a staff by the name of Lee who asked him if he paid for the bottle of Chobani. Common-sense will tell you that you can't pay for something if you are in the middle of the store and the cash register is upfront. She then snatched the bottle of Chobani out of his hands and tells him he needs to leave. When my son tried to ask for a reason as to why he needs to leave the store, all she saids is "I don't care" repeatedly. Also, other staff members and security joined in, forcing him to leave. Is that how your staff is trained? This Lee should be fired immediately and never be allowed to deal with customers again! Also, just to let you know, he went next door to CVS and bought the same items for cheaper. My son doesn't need to steal from your store. Shame on you Target, you and your coward security staff taking advantage of teenagers who are just trying to buy something! read more
