I haven't owned them very long, just since the Summer of 1997, so no, they didn't need to be replaced. But my wife has not let up on me getting a new pair! So, as every good hubby does, he gives in and gets a new pair. My temper tantrums weren't working anymore and I was pretty much given an ultimatum, "It's either the Oakley's or me!!" So, after much thought, kinda like the lady does in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" when her husband is kidnapped, and it's either "Your husband or your case of Wonka Bars...!" I decided to get a new pair. My brother in law showed my wife a pair of Maui Jim's and I do have to say, I "Rocked them like a Hurricane!!" My wife was also a big fan of them. So, after trying on a few dozen of them, I decided on the Maui Jim's Ho'Okipa style. They were priced right and we even got my wife a new pair of Ray Bans for $40 off. So, after 45 mins of decisions, we both walked out with a brand-spankin' new pair of shades and a few Benjamin's lighter in the wallet. I have been looking at Chrome Hearts eyeglasses for many years and after visiting so many boutique eyeglass stores along with the Chrome Hearts store on Washington Street in Manhattan, I decided to pull the trigger. Once I decided on them I did not know how difficult it would be to find a store that had them in stock and at the best price. This is where Josh made me a believer. What's sets Chrome Hearts apart is they use only the highest quality materials and their commitment to slow, artisanal craftsmanship. Every pair of glasses undergoes a tough quality control process. They use only the finest materials, such as .925 sterling silver and premium-grade lenses, to ensure that their products are both durable and visually a conversation piece. The other stores I visited did not make me feel wanted as a customer, did not have the model and color I wanted in stock and did not offer the best price. I wanted the glasses to wear for an upcoming conference and awards meeting at the of September. I first came to Josh in Early July. He did some checking and felt confident on meeting the date I gave him even though others couldn't. He knew I was set on the Chrome Hearts pen 15 and was committed to find them. In the end I just picked them up on September 9th not knowing what he went through to make this happen. After I picked them up he shared that all indications were that through the normal ordering system he would not be able to deliver them until February 2024. Josh was not discouraged, literally did a world wide search and negotiated to get them from Asia on the promised price. He showed me all the emails he had to send to accomplish this feat. Though my vision is quite good at 20/15, I love a good pair of statement eyeglasses. The Thom Browne tortoise shell glasses were just the statement I've been on the hunt for. I love the classic tortoise shell color with the sleek, modern rectangular lines of the frames. I knew I was in trouble when I tried them on and they looked great on me. At $675, they are also an investment, though I'm a big believer in buying less, and spending more for quality. Josh of Kitto Optical encouraged me to snap a photo of the frames and take my time thinking about it. The next few days I was STILL thinking about the Thom Browne frames and called Kitto Optical to buy them. Josh answered the phone and was so nice and helpful. Not only did he give me a great price on the frames, he also offered to personally drop them off at my house in Philadelphia so I wouldn't have to wait to get them!!! As I don't have a car, I was blown away by his thoughtfulness and consideration. Thank you to Josh and Kitto Optical for delivering a truly exceptional experience and understanding that glasses are more than just glasses!! I would 1000% trust buying from them again. It has a storefront but basically it's a kiosk with an address and from what I remember, customer service that can barely fog a mirror. And yet, after two decades when most stores in this moribund mausoleum have turned over three or four times.... Sunglass Hut endures. I don't know why or how but for a store that barely registers any human traffic I remain astounded and impressed. The mystery surrounding such survival skills is worth a resounding five stars, a bemused WTF and a spastic shake of my head just for good luck.

But when they couldn't find a replacement nose pad in the store or other stores in the area, they just handed me the sunglasses back and told me to call Oakley myself or get 50% credit toward a new pair that I had to buy that day. It's not like I broke the frame or cracked the lens....it was a stupid nose pad! So I went over to the store in Cherry Hill and when they couldn't find a replacement nose pad, they took my sunglasses and told me they will ship me a new pair, straight to my house for FREE. I will never go to the Moorestown Sunglass Hut again. Also, the one female employee there is not friendly at all and just rolls her eyes when a customer or even a coworker talks to her. I was greeted warmly, though they were busy with other customers. I noticed that Nicole greeted everyone who was there or who came in after me by name. I told her what I was thinking of trying. She welcomed me to try on anything and everything. And so I did. There was zero pressure. Nicole helped me with fit and size and I narrowed it down to a pair I fell in love with. Nicole was busy but she checked in on me often. Nicole will tell you if a pair of glasses isn't for you - which I really appreciate, because it's a big purchase! By the way, Nicole learned my name early on and used it. This is not something you see much these days. I felt welcomed to be their customer. I selected my frames and Nicole told me about their upcoming vacation, not sure if they would have them ready beforehand. I wasn't in any rush, but I did learn that they make the glasses in-house, which was nice to know! My glasses were ready in just a few days. When I went in to pick them up, I was greeted with, "Hi, Megan!" My glasses were beautifully made. When I tried them on, I was a little unsure because they didn't seem like the right prescription - I had waited too long to update my Rx! Nicole assured me that if they didn't feel right and my eyes didn't adjust, they'd remake them within 30 days. My eyes adjusted in one day and I'm thrilled with my new glasses. Nicole also adjusted my sunglasses (not purchased there) for free, and they've never fit better. I can't say enough about my wonderful experience at Fortuna Optical. You have a customer for life.
