The facility is located in a large medical complex with convenient and ample parking. Dr. Elliott Janousek, O.D., is an exceptional professional. He provides comprehensive eye exams that check visual acuity, depth perception, and eye coordination to detect issues like cataracts or macular degeneration. He also performs systemic health screenings to identify overall health issues affecting the eyes, such as diabetes and hypertension. Additionally, Dr. Janousek is highly skilled in prescribing topical and oral medications for eye infections, allergies, and inflammation, and he provides excellent surgical co-management before and after procedures performed by their seasoned ophthalmologist. The eye exam process is very efficient. The optical technician, Heep, is professional and thorough during the initial medical review and pressure testing. The practice also utilizes retinal and fundus photography to capture detailed digital images of the inside of the eye to screen for diseases. The administrative staff is equally wonderful. Maddy at the reception desk is always cheerful, helpful, and accommodating with scheduling. Please note that this is a very popular and busy office. I highly recommend scheduling any follow-up appointments on the same day as your visit to avoid scheduling delays.

The earliest available appointment was in October, but a week before the appointment, it was canceled. I rescheduled for November, and on the morning of that appointment, they canceled again. To make matters worse, they only send text messages to notify you of cancellations--no calls to explain or help reschedule. After this frustrating and unprofessional experience, I gave up and went elsewhere.

As I was checking in, an unfriendly front office staff member asked whether I wanted the $39 retinal scan with my eye exam. I did want the scan, but my insurance copay was supposed to be $20, or at least that's what it said in my paperwork. She didn't offer any explanation, didn't offer to call my insurance, or even check with the doctor. She coldly stared at me and waited for my response. I decided I would find another doctor. There was no recovery attempt at all. I see in the Yelp reviews that I am not the only one who feels they weren't treated with respect by the front office staff. I want to update my review. Although I wasn't treated with respect, the information that Eye Concepts received from my insurance company did specify that I could be charged $39. This is in contrast to what my employer states ($20 copay). It wasn't Eye Concepts fault, rather an issue I need to take up with my employer.

I wondered around their 10 x 10 office looking at frames. They called me back and did the preliminary exam, the annoying puff in the eye thing, and then sent me back to wait. I began to notice people who had come in after me going back to be examined, picked out glasses and left. One unhappy customer came in, argued and left. Two hours later someone came over and asked me if I had been seen yet. I told them I had but was waiting to see the Dr. Since I really didn't have much to do that day and understand that some days things just happen, I wasn't concerned. At 4:30 I got my exam and got my frames. Over $1000.00 later, and the last customer in the office, I left. They told me my glasses would be ready in 1 week to 10 days. Two weeks later, no glasses. My husband called to inquire about my glasses and they told them they forgot to order them! Ok, so what are you going to do? Please order them. I'm a pretty passive person. Today is May 26th, and I have no glasses. I think my patience has run out. I got my first pair of glasses here about 8 yrs ago and a couple pairs since then. Since that time their selection has gone down hill (the girl with the exceptional taste in frames has left) and their service has gone to hell! If this was my business I would be seriously concerned. I would have written this sooner but I can't FREAKING SEE TO WRITE IT BECAUSE I DONT HAVE MY GLASSES! I'll go to the mall before I ever go here again!

Handled all of our questions and concerns in a kind and professional way. Couldn't be happier, and I'll be setting appts for myself and other kids to be seen here. I may have been 'upsold' on some things at other optometrists I feel, but that didn't happen here at all. Conveniently located, and every other employee was great. MOMS WITH BABIES, BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS!…read more I have never felt so disrespected and shaken by the way I was treated at a business. I brought my newborn baby with me to my appointment today. The parking lot was full, but there were three spaces available near the office. Two had signs that said "Patient Parking," with no indication of which business the signs belonged to, since there are two offices directly next to each other. The third space had NO SIGN directly in front of it. I parked there. The second I finished unloading my newborn baby and our belongings, TWO employees came bursting out of the office and began yelling at me to move. I apologized and explained that there was nowhere else to park close, that I had my newborn baby with me, and that it was 115° outside. One of the employees yelled "No one cares about your baby! You're being entitled! You need to move now!" I was completely shocked. I explained again that I was trying to avoid carrying my newborn and everything across a huge parking lot in 115° heat when there was a space directly in front of the door I needed. She screamed at me again "You can walk! You need to move your car NOW or we're calling to tow it." I was so overwhelmed and frantically packing everything back into my car while they continued yelling and pointing at me inside the car. I then parked on the far side of the parking lot and carried my baby and all of my belongings by myself, dropping things along the way. What makes this even more upsetting, I could see those three parking spaces from the window during my appointment. ALL THREE SPACES REMAINED EMPTY THE ENTIRE TIME. There was absolutely no reason for two grown adults to scream at a mother holding her baby, clearly with her hands full, in 115° heat. I am still shaking thinking about this experience. If this is how you treat a mother standing there with her newborn baby, I would seriously question how you treat anyone who walks through your doors. Moms with babies, or young children please be aware of how this place treats people before giving them your business. I will never forget being told that "no one cares about your baby." That sentence tells me everything I need to know about the level of compassion at this establishment.
