I LOVE Family Tree Eye Care! I've been a patient for many years and before I came here, I used to go to the Mall to a National chain. I decided to try a local office and WOW I'm so glad I did! The whole tone of the office is different. Relaxed, professional, and friendly - genuinely glad you're there and happy to help. The front office are welcoming and a great way to start your visit. Dr Alma is awesome and a great resource of knowledge. And last week during my annual eye exam, I had the pleasure of meeting Ashley, who did my pre work. Another awesome addition to the team! Been searching for a good eye doctor and we finally found the one! We have been here over a year now and service is always great! All the staff members are so nice and knowledgeable! Doctor has helped me alot with dry eye issues and a lot of my kids eye issues as well! He knows his stuff and he genuinely cares about his patients! My first visit to Family Tree Eye Care was encourage by my daughter who takes my younger grandson for his exams and glasses. My examination by Dr Yamamoto was a sight changer it was determined I needed a cataract evolution. I was referred to Q Vision where I did qualify for both eyes to have cataract surgery. I had the surgeries completed if it wasn't for Dr Yamamoto's finding the cataracts I would still be seeing bright white as a dingy cream along with every colored dark and dull . Disclaimer: this is my forst ever experience with an eye doctor for an eye exam!! Found Family Tree Eye Care through my insurance provider. Next I search here on yelp for reviews. After reading the ratings and reviews I called to make an appointment. I was able to get in the same day due to cancellations. Front office: friendly ladies that greeted and checked me in promptly! One of the ladies did the initial testings and fitting i guess (sorry can't remember what she said ‍) . Everything she did she explained (what she doing, what i need to do and what it's for) Office: bright, clean and very welcoming! Dr . Yamamoto had excellent chair side manners He was very professional and thorough and explained everything he was going to do and what it's for! He really made me feel at ease with the whole eye test including the last test (refraction i think) He knows eyes and had gave me lots of information on what's going on with my eyes and how to help me see better. He also encouraged questions. Overall: I highly recommend Dr. Yamamoto and his office! They seem to genuinely like seeing their patients and takes their time with each one. I never felt rushed. Bonus: before you even walk in the door mat says e ko mo mai (welcome in Hawaiian) Dr. Yamamoto picked up on my lingering "Hawaii" accent and asked if I was from the islands! Ofcourse I said yes! I went in to see Dr. Yamamoto for my eyes that had been red for a little over a month. I had already seen two doctors prior to this visit and received the same answers from both, that they had no idea what was wrong with my eyes but they would prescribe me some drops. Dr. Yamamoto was by far the most thorough doctor I have ever been to in my life. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and even went to the point of creating a referral for me to get some other testing done because he was not able to conclude exactly what the problem was based off of the tests he performed. The ladies at the front desk were very kind to me as well. Dr Yamamoto was absolutely a dream today!! He took care of my 10 year old daughters emergency eye visit with such thoroughness & grace! He found the piece stuck under her eyelid & it wasn't a traumatic experience, he just did his steps smoothly and talked to my daughter very sincerely and with compassion. I had an eye injury as a child and I was so scared to go to this visit alone with her as my husband was an hour away at work, I know my experience as a child was a traumatic one and I would not hesitate to bring your family/children to this doctor as he knows what he is doing and the steps that need to be taken!!!! He had previously been at Arizona's Vision, so when I called for an appointment and learned he went out on his own I was disappointed as I enjoyed all my experiences there. I have always been terrified of going to the eye doctor. The puff of air, dilation drops...I'd rather get a shot! This was by far the BEST experience I've ever had! You can choose to do images instead of dilation drops (not covered by insurance but inexpensive) and there was a different machine instead of the puff! I can't say enough good things about Family Tree Eye Care! I was so happy to find Dr. Alma Yamamoto, O.D. after he left his previous eye care facility to open his own location. His two amazing assistants, Christina R. and Ana L. are also always wonderful to work with time and time again. I have mutiple examples of just how good this team is with their personalized care every time. One example happened during the pandemic when I woke with pink eye and my regular doctor couldn't fit me in and it was a Friday. I worried about waiting until Monday to see her and I didn't want to go to an urgent care during the height of the local Covid infections (summer of 2020), so I dialed the Family Tree after hours line and Dr. Yamamoto picked right up...not an answering service. Dr. Y immediately remembered me by my name and had me text him pictures of my eye. Within two hours...on a Friday night...my eye drops were ready for pick up from the drug store! I was so appreciative! Another above-and-beyond example of how caring and wonderful Family Tree Eye Care happened when my adult son was seeing an increased amount of floaters...not something to ignore. My son is a sports reporter and had a 10 day trip scheduled to cover MLB baseball so Christina and Dr. Y fit him in last minute to be seen. I flew my son in from his home in LA and we went straight to Family Tree, all on the same day! What a relief to know that my son's eye were OK...and he finally got glasses, which he has needed for a while. Again and again, Family Tree Eye Care's attention to detail and caring team (who are all good listeners) set them apart from other eye care teams...these guys are the best in the Valley and because of that, we drive out of our way to see Dr. Y and team at Family Tree Eye Care.
