Target has all of our necessities. We don't go to target often and the most recent time the layout was completely different. The new layout isn't organized very well and can be confusing to find things. The service was always very nice and they are all willing to help you find something you are looking for. read more

Its a love hate relationship. I love you Target because I can find many things. I hate you because I can find many, many things... and you usually are a time suck. By the end of my trip I usually have spent to much time and to much money. I am a little biased with Target as I love it so. This location is one of two I frequent the most. The other being Oakridge. The times I have been the store has been well stocked and clean. I can't speak on the customer service to much as I rarely interact with anyone except for the person behind the register. Usually the older the person behind the register the nicer they are. The only thing to me that would be a con would be parking can sometimes be pretty crowded. read more

This is the ugliest Target I have ever set my foot in. It had the ambience of a Wal-Mart due to their poor lighting (It was weirdly dimmer than the usual bright white most Target has), unorganized shelves and I felt that the lay out of the store itself was weird, confusing and not practical.. When I came in, there was no clean sight. For example, their entrance, if you walk straight, leads to a wall of gift cards and blocks the view of what's behind the store. I love Target to death but this particular place, I could not wait to just grab my merchandise and leave. Oh and I have no complaints about my female cashier. Smooth transaction as always. I had to come to this Target again with my aunt and they had a lot of clothes on clearance. Everything was good.. Until I went inside their fitting room. Damn their fitting room looked like they haven't swept or mopped for a week! The floor was dirty, and had a lot of dust or dirt particles. I do like their staff though. I was desperately looking for some individual packs of Hummus for church kids event and I knew this target had them. However no matter how much we looked we couldn't find them. I asked an employee and she looked annoyed and I hate when an employee just points and tells me to look at this one area. Like I was dumb and didn't check there first. However, as annoyed I was I asked another empoyee Kyle Wilcox. This kid went online tracked the product checked his inventory aND took me to the aisle and noticed that they were misplaced. This is probably one of the worst Targets in the south bay when it comes to customer service. I see more Target employees sitting around the Starbucks inside this place then I do Target customers. Doesn't this place have an employee breakroom for it's employees? Why are there so many Target employees hanging out in front of this store staring at their personal cell phones? The older employees are the ones always working in this store while the younger folks are always on their cell phones or trying to avoid customers completely. Only had 5 women's bathing suits at target as of September 3.... it's still summer! And, they were all the long tops (no bikinis and only 1 one-piece). I asked the women managing the changing station if there were more and she was super unhelpful and unresponsive. She literally would not say any words and would just shake her head whenever I asked a question (I asked 3 times). This review is specifically for the tech department within this specific Target location. My wife and I came in to upgrade our phones, and the tech team was super responsive. There were some irregularities with our transaction, and they were patient while I called my provider and straightened things out. Everything was plainer very well by the Tech workers, and we were properly assisted every step of the way. To top it all off, Kyle offered to apply the screen protectors purchased for our phones. My wife and I were extremely pleased with the Tech staff, and though it took a while (as these sorts of things do), we had a great time and highly recommend this Target's tech team! read more

I had excellent customer service on my most recent visit. Jasmin, at the register, was very engaging and friendly. If I were to get a Target card, it would be from her. I noticed a crack on my item so she offered to replace it right away. I didn't get his name but one of the other associates who was about to go on lunch was more than happy to grab another one even though it was on the other side of the store. So, target is of course my FAVORITE place to shop.. But when it comes to THIS target, i typically avoid it. Its not awful but it certainly isnt greatest. I prefer the new target over there in 'The Plant' off curtner and monterey but hillsdale is closer so alas if im in a rush I end up here.. The quick and dirty: Overall Layout: The layout of targets don't always make much sense but this one is okay for the most part. Electronics is a little strange with ipods in one isle and ipod accessories 4 isles away Womens clothing: racks are very crowded and not often as well stocked as other targets but usually pretty clean Dressing rooms: a travesty. Half the doors don't close right and its almost like its a temporary setup until they install the real ones but its more of a long term setup seeing how beat to hell they are Food: its a disaster right now. they're remodeling but you can still access a large variety of grocery needs. Stationary: seemingly always in shambles. if they have what you were sort of looking for, they only have one or two options and these are typically returned objects. Staff: I can usually find someone if i need them and the cashiers are pretty friendly but strange. Registers: no problems. i almost always able to find a free employee or at least a register with only one person ahead of me.. read more

The remodel is horrible. They were already changing the place around every couple of months it seemed but now it is completely different. This use to be my favorite target to go to, even when they would move some things around. But this remodel is so bad, it's hard to find things now and I don't even go to the middle of the store anymore. Having to search the entire store for something is an annoying idea. I really think it looked much nicer and "updated" before. It was a lot easier to move around with carts before. I went searching for about 10 mins to find women's socks,which were a mess, looked like I was in a Ross or something. Pretty bummed out that I'm giving this store a 1 star being that its really clean and most of the workers are really nice but after yesterday's coupon fiasco and constant arguing with the staff about THEIR policies i cant help but want to give them negative stars and a few slaps across the face! 1. The cashier ADRIAN was rude and didnt know the coupon policy, he was absolutely NO HELP! Tried to tell me how many coupons i can use when it clearly states in their own policy that i was right (Limit of 4, not 1) 2. I even pointed out that a woman before me used multiple coupons and NOT once did they question her but as soon I tried they completely made a big deal out of it. Called around to several Targets in San Jose and other cities asking for a stock check on a specific item. Spoke with a female at Guest Services at 508pm on 3/12 and asked for the same stock check I asked the other stores. Even gave her the dpci number to make it easy and she looked it up. After looking it up she wouldn't give me anymore info because she said it's policy they don't do stock checks on clearance items. She didn't even tell me if their system had any. I told her I've called 5 Targets earlier and they all told me if they had any or not for me. She said well it's a store specific policy. I didn't know you can just make up a policy that is not approved by corporate? Sounds like laziness to me. I called back immediately again and got connected with electronics since it was an electronic item. The female who answered had no problem looking it up and letting me know the inventory. She even offered to check the shelf for me. Whoever the employee was at Guest Services needs to be retrained! read more

To be honest, i love target and never ever thought i'd write a bad review nor call corporate to complain about a bad experience. Normally coming into target i get what i need and i leave. I never really talk to any of the employees there. TODAY HOWEVER, i bought a few house cleaning items and a few clothing items. I always do self check out because i like how it's less interaction with the employers there. (Like i said, i like to get what i need and leave, no talking to anyone) So, i was scanning my items and i noticed an elderly women hovering over me (ANNOYING! most targets employees at the self check out, give you space and watch you from afar.) 2 out of the 4 tank tops i bought wouldn't scan, they were THE EXACT SAME PIRCE, STYLE, UPC, COLOR, everything was the exact same for ALL 4 tank tops, so me coming from working at the retail, i know that i can scan the one with the working barcode for the other 2 that didn't scan, and right when i put it down, the rude a** elderly lady by the name of JITENDER, comes rushing over, grabbing the tank tops out of my bagging area and says "EXCUSE ME MISSY YOU CANT SCAN THAT ITS DIFFERENT" i literally look over at this rude lady and said "No it's not it's exactly the freaking same, i know what i'm doing." and she was like "NO." and then 5 seconds later she goes "Oh wait, it is the same" and i was like "How dare you come over here and assume. You're so rude." and she quietly walked away WITHOUT APOLOGIZING. I know it's your job to check but bisssshh, 1. you could've came at me nicely instead of hella being rude. 2. you should've admit your wrongs. WORST EXPERIENCE WITH AN EMPLOYEE EVER! Horribly poorly stocked. Every time I go in (weeks and weeks and weeks) the yougurt shelves look like they've been hit by people stocking up for a storm. Things on sale - buy 3, only have one in stock. Their app says they've got things, you go in and they say they don't. Online order charges you for a bag. If you bring one, they say they refund it, but half the time it's still on my charge (that's not just this store - that's the whole company problem.) Try to send info about a problem? Get ignored. Used to love Target - now, not so much. I go cause it's close and convenient, and usually a little cheaper. But if you want to use a coupon, can't do that online. So you go to the store, and the price is $4 more, and you've got a $3 coupon. But there's no way to know unless you make the trip. I've been frequenting this Target for the past several years (born and raised in the Bay Area, it has always been fairly close to where I've lived). I can't say exactly when it completely went to hell, but within the past several months on several separate occasions this Target has become excruciating to shop at. It is a disaster and honestly these past few experiences especially have me wondering if I want to swear off ever returning to this store. The first thing I almost always notice when I walk in lately is a persistently gamey stench, mixture of melty rubber/plastic and dirty diaper. It leaves me with a constant feeling that this store is never kept clean. Frankly, this Target smells like a Wal-Mart. This doesn't even get into the primary problem, which is the absolutely atrocious customer service. I don't think I've ever had a notably positive customer service experience here (aside from the occasional friendly cashier), but the software department as a whole is a complete nightmare. Incredibly understaffed, there will rarely ever be anyone to assist customers with toys or games, and usually when you finally track someone down it's one of the same 2-4 extremely rude and dimwitted people. And with that I have a few specific stories to tell... I'll start off by saying that because I live nearby I am forced to visit this Target fairly frequently, and as a toy collector I return oftentimes looking for similar items. I have worked retail myself and I know how horrible it can be to have a rude or disrespectful customer-I always make sure I am as polite, calm and patient as possible with associates. I virtually NEVER receive the same common courtesy in return at this store. On multiple occasions I have visited the toy/software department looking for specific toys, sometimes asking if the associate could check the stockroom if the item is not on the shelf...which I generally only ever do if the barcode scanner has already confirmed they have it in backstock. I am never loud, rude or demanding when I ask. These employees routinely behave judgmentally and condescendingly towards me, blatantly rolling their eyes and sighing loudly each time I ask them a question regarding these toys-frankly I feel uncomfortable speaking to these people at all. On one particular occasion, an employee "greeted" me with an agitated exclamation of, "are you here to bug me about those toys AGAIN?!" She followed this up with the incredibly rude remark, "What do you even do with these anyway?" To make a customer feel ashamed about what they are buying is one of the most disrespectful things you can do in retail...I don't know this woman's name, but she's very large, short and has very short black hair. This was not the only occasion she was incredibly rude to me. On top of her rudeness, she is extremely lazy, dimwitted and generally unwilling to help anyone with anything. I (regretfully) returned on a separate visit with some friends, again looking for a specific toy. I was told by two other (and vastly friendlier) Targets that this location had 6 listed in the back stock. My friends and I asked a shorter woman with glasses to check for the item, to which she rolled her eyes and claimed she could only look it up with the DCPI number (which isn't true). She then lazily pawned us off to a woman who seemed to be a supervisor...this name I do remember...Yvette. Yvette gave my friends and I a glare, glanced briefly at her barcode scanner for the item, and abruptly said, "none are available" and nothing more. She glared blankly and seemed to expect us to walk away. I knew for a fact this was a lie, since not only did their customer scanner list the item as being in the stockroom, two OTHER TARGETS referred me to this store for the item...and the woman wouldn't even check or provide any explanation at all. My friends and I rescanned the item's online barcode, retrieving the DCPI number. We returned promptly to the desk to find it completely barren with no employee in sight. The lovely Yvette finally walked up again and we patiently waited for her to finish a long phone call. We explained to her that their customer scanner had confirmed that the product was in the stockroom, and that we now had the DCPI number. To which she immediately (and condescendingly) responded...."none are available. Products have street dates for a reason." She once again refused to physically check anything, and spoke incredibly nastily to my friends and I when she did not even explain to us the first time anything about a street date. We left the store outraged and without any of the products that we knew were IN the stock room. FYI, the very next day a dramatically kinder employee at a different Target happily checked their stock room for the item and we were able to purchase it immediately afterwards. This is honestly some of the worst customer service I've ever received in my life. AVOID this Target at all costs! ZERO stars! read more

The only reason I'm giving this stupidly incompetent staff a 5 star rating is to get my review seen. -__- I had a terrible experience at the location off of Hillsdale Ave. ! While checking out at the self checkout line I was constantly being shamelessly watched by a female Caucasian employee! Like, when I say SHAMELESSLY I mean staring me directly in my face while standing literally maybe a foot away! You could have put a ruler to my back and it would have reached her chest! I am a Hispanic young woman and this made me feel extremely profiled and completely judged by what seemed to be a racist employee! Me and my sister walked to the side to gather our things after fully checking out and noticed this employee was doing the EXACT SAME THING to other customers of color! She wasn't even bothering the lighter skinned customers! (Not that I wish that upon anyone because frankly it's extremely saddening) When I brought this up to the "manager" (His name tag said he was a trainer and NOT a manager) he didn't know what to say at all. This pharmacy is god awful! My experiences there have been consistently getting worse... and the last time I went in, they shorted me a pill. I think they need to hire people that can work in a fast paced environment. I feel cheated and taken advantage of by Target. I no longer trust that I will be getting the best prices or even competitive prices. Walmart and Toys R Us here I come. I'm a loyal and frequent Target shopper. I get anything and everything I can from Target because of their competitive prices and all the products they offer. This is why I was so shocked and disappointed with my most recent experience at Target Hillsdale. Long story short, I purchased a color changing Lightning McQueen car (similar in size to a hot wheel toy car) from this location for $14.99. Seemed a bit steep for the product but my child was with me and desperately has been wanting this toy. Two days later I was at Target Westgate Saratoga and saw the exact same toy for $5.99. Not on clearance or sale, just priced at this particular location cheaper. I thought there must be a mistake. But no, after a few phone calls and a trip to customer service, Target Hillsdale refused to give me back the $9.00 difference or honor the lower price. They rudely explained to me that each Target location can and does set their own prices on items depending on the stores location. Although I don't agree with this, to me Target is Target if they all in the same city or close to it, a few dollars might be easier to swallow. But a $9.00 difference. Seems unfair and poor business ethics. I guess this is how they work in the 5% discount for Red Card users. Not cool Target! read more

My favorite target ever! The only reason I took a star off was the parking outside. They share a lot with the Home Depot and a 24 hour fitness. You can find parking-except people who are in that lot drive like maniacs. No one is paying attention-self-absorbed as usual. Best time to go is early in the morning. The checkers are always really sweet and unlike a lot of other targets most of the lanes are open. Makes checking out easy.Highly recommend- just be careful where you park your car read more
