So when some other STL people who now live in ATL metro told me this place was the real deal, I had to come. I walked in and explained what the streets were saying. Me and my family drove over an hour and it was worth every minute !!! the rice, the noodles the Saint Paul, the crab Rangoon, the vess sodas the "sundance "chips. Everything was on point. I was not impressed with this place. I ordered Shrimp egg foo young and shrimp fried rice. Wanted a combonation for this but this place does not have an egg foo young combination. So I had to pay for each item separately. I asked the guy was the gravy light brown and he said yes. Which it was not. My total was $17.75 just for shrimp egg foo young and shrimp fried rice which is ridiculous. when I got home is when I found out the gravey was not light brown it was dark something and thin like water. I recent drive to St. Louis for a family event. Sadly I was not able to sample the ahinese food as I've been told is phenomenal. As luck would have it, a client mentions that there actually IS a place that serves St. Louis styled chinese food. After a lot of yelp searching, Taste 8 came up. The reviews are spot on. Called in an order for beef and broccoli to go with my cauliflower fried rice and my total came to about $13.50. I wasn't given an estimated time or anything so I just guessed to head over 20 minutes later where my food was done and lukewarm at that point. When you arrive, their payment set-up is right at the door so you open the door and there is the credit card reader which made it efficient in my opinion because they bring your order right to the door. As far as taste, it wasn't bad. The only thing I'd recommend is adding more salt because the gravy was a bit tasteless, but the beef was tender and the broccoli was well cooked. But with a little bit of salt and sriracha, it satisfied my Chinese food craving. The serving was big enough for me to portion into about 3.5 meal preps. read more

The prices are high, they went up because of inflation but give you less meat in the rice. The rice is extremely greasy but the hot braised chicken wings are good. Today I ordered the same thing "Szechuan chicken" and this is not anything like what I had couple of months ago. I want to try the kung pao but I don't think I should Incase it's sweet as well. Owners must have changed since then or ??? Szechuan chicken in general is a spicy dish and savory. What they've given me is orange chicken you get from the mall with extra duck sauce in the food. It's painfully sweet. Rice is not even the sticky Asian rice it's just regular short grain. They've dumped the sauce all over the rice so this is mostly inedible because it's just a lot of goopy duck sauce all over. Will not return unfortunately. Absolutely not edible. Went recently for a pick-up order and after paying through the modified entry/check-out space at the front of the store, got the food home within 10-15 minutes. The only thing that was still hot was the soup. In checking the menu prices, also noticed that I might've been overcharged $5 + on my order. I didn't receive a receipt so I have no way of knowing what or how anything was charged. I paid cash and had the exact amount because that's pretty much the standard these days. I do know that some eateries are up charging for orders due to shortages etc.... A heads up on that would have been appreciated. I'm pretty sure we aren't returning to Taste 8 at any time, at all. This is really a disappointment that I have to write this review. I called and placed an order for 2 extra extra spicy braised shrimp. I patronize this business a lot considering we reside on Old Snellville. When we got our food it was not how we ordered it. I called today 7/25/2024 to let the manager know he told me to bring the food back which we did. He then overtalks me and tells me he can only remake 1 not both my total was 34 bucks and the same dishes. He then tells me that I didn't order it right in which I did the child on the other end that took my order repeated extra extra spicy to me. Per the owner, she didn't charge me for it. Not my problem, I placed it how we eat it. He would not allow me to get a word in. I am very very disappointed. Rarely a let down. Tried a lot of the menu and everything in extremely tasty. I thought the reviews were hype. Not so. Highlights to me are wings, fried rice (real fried rice w/ eggs and scallions), General's chicken (actually stays crispy 45mins later) soups. Great experience. I ordered delivery. Only took 30 mins for 9PM. I ordered the buffalo wings with fried rice. The fried rice was really good. The ranch was a little weird not much of the ranch dip taste. More like the dressing. The buffalo sauce had a good taste but the wings were alright. They were big tho. It was less than $6 and ended up being a lot of food. The food was pretty good, but I wish it had come with more vegetables. I tried my sister's veggie lo mein and wasn't really a fan, but she liked it. Boba was decent.
