I just moved here from the Bay Area, and by my old house I had an awesome Indian cuisine restaurant. Moving to Madera I didn't trust most places here but tonight I gave this spot a try and it did not disappoint!!! This hole in the wall was just the ticket. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala which is my go to anytime I eat Indian food. The sauce was so flavorful, and the spices were so good the meat was so tinder and juicy!! My best part is dipping the naan in that good sauce and enjoying every last bite. The serving was enough to feed two people, and the price I I paid was a bit high at 25 dollars but with the serving I got I wasn't to down, plus that food tasted amazing!! Food was great but worker was extremely unprofessional. I was wearing a spaghetti strap in extreme 90° weather and the second I walked in I felt uncomfortable. He kept looking at my chest multiple times and when coming to my table continued reaching his head over to get a "better" look. He also brought the cook in the back to oogle at me more. On another note he also charged us for two entries with two sides of rice. But only brought one rice and when asked if there was another he said we have to pay for another. I was recently in Madera for a work trip and stopped in here for dinner because it was one of the only places that was open at 9pm when I arrived. I loved it so much I came back the next day with a bunch of my colleagues, one of whom went so far as to say it was the best Indian food he had had in his life. First time customer. I found this on Yelp. When I arrived a couple of Arab men were there. I always think that if your people eat there it's a good place. I ordered. It was pricey. $29.42 with tip is a lot for one person but I was already there so I paid. At home I unwrapped my goodies. A little bummed. Rice and naan were good but my pint container of butter chicken only contained about 1/3 cup of chicken. The rest was all sauce. I don't think there are tariff costs on chicken but what do I know. We stopped here for a quick bite on the way to Oakland from Yosemite. The place is decent with bathrooms that need deep cleaning (sad this is the welcome to India facade people see). The counter person is helpful and very friendly. Food overall is decent. I thought the dal was really tasty but the chicken roll was just ok and I didn't like the chicken quality. I had the Shrimp Korma and it was honestly one of the best Indian dishes I've ever tasted. The garlic naan was hot, fresh, and full of flavor. My husband ordered the Butter Chicken and he really enjoyed it too. The service was great and everyone who worked there was so kind and welcoming. Very good! Asked for mild (mild is spicy lol). Maybe order rice to go with your order as the dishes don't come with any other then the biryani i believe. Overall I'd give it 8.5/10 (my own fault for not fully knowing what I was ordering) kids were able to eat Naan pakoras and shrimp, as those weren't spicy. Very flavorful and excited to try other dishes with my lessons learned. Mint Chutney is spicy. Red stuff i believe is Tamarind but different and sweeter than I'm use to. Need to brush up on desserts as I want sure what to order and my first order was online, I could've called for recommendations. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would. Soooo glad we have a good Indian restaurant in Madera! First time eating here, I ordered the butter chicken, garlic naan and chicken biriyani. Let me tell you, that biriyani was FIRE. Literally the best I've had in a long long time, the chicken was tender and falling apart. Perfectly done. It rivals some of the Bay area restaurants I've tried and I sincerely hope that their recipes and cooking stay consistent because they've got a frequent customer in me! Butter chicken was delicious as well, sweet spicy and delectable. ALSO, when ordering spicy just know that they mean spicy! We are a high spice family so for us it was perfect but for anyone who is not used to a lot of heat, just know you're getting "brown" people spicy when you order it that way. I finally tried ordering here last week and had a mixed experience. The food was good but the experience was not so it depends on what you care about. I placed the order from Yelp, going through GrubHub. It was hard to tell on the phone menu whether all the entree dishes came with rice and I didn't want to end up with buckets of leftover rice, so I called first and they told me each did (butter chicken, chicken tikka Marsala etc). Great. I placed the order for 4 of us for several chicken entrees (all were delicious), biryani vegetarian rice, garlic naan, spinach aloo, and dal. It said it would take 20 mins and it took us that long to get there. At the restaurant they were very confused and said they did not have the order. I listed all the items and then they asked if it was GrubHub. Then they said they got it but had not made it, so we had to wait another 20 mins for them to make it. When we got home and opened it up to serve, there was no rice!! Except for the biryani thank goodness. That was super aggravating because it wasn't close and no one wanted to go back while our food just got colder. So for food I'd give this place a 4.5 but for service I can't go more than a 2 and I'm thinking it may be a while before I'd try them again. read more
