We so wanted this to be better. Very standard Indian. Nothing special. We started with the Papard. It's a crispy cracker bread. Nicely done, the side sauces, tamarind and cilantro/lime chutney, were good. So nice start. Oh, the place is beautiful and so clean. Then the garlic naan came out. So good. So garlicky. And that is where wonderful kind of fell flat. First up, butter chicken. I know, standard dish, what would we expect. How about some popping Indian flavors and at least a little heat. I'm not sure he even asked what heat level we wanted. We got zero. So that was a bummer. Standard. Then we had the lamb Nilgiri Korma. Again, good but nothing special. And again, spicy level zero. Standard. Anyway, solid food. Food to price value is pretty good. Service was great. Place is great. We have had Indian all over the world including in Indian on several occasions. Fantastic food!! With only a few Indian restaurants in Brevard, Taste Of India is by far my favorite thus far. The inside decor is beautiful. Lots of gilded gold and brass accents and statues with a stunning ceiling that makes me want to redo mine at home. They offer a simple drink menu of soft drinks, teas, lassis, wine and beer.. no liquor, but for a small place, a common thing. The menu is colorful with lots of pictures, so very helpful for anyone who is or is not accustomed to Indian food fare. The service was a little sluggish, but all of our orders came out hot and correct. The food is so fresh and has so much flavor! The palak paneer is my favorite, followed by the mix grill and the lamb chops. All the meats are perfectly cooked, tender, and seasoned to perfection. Don't forget the lamb or cheese naan! So happy we found this place. Great food and while not the cheapest it is quality. Had the lamb Malabar curry and it was delicious. Two meals in one. Other was chicken masala and it was very good also. Naan was pretty good too. Told Jo our server I needed an order to go also and she timed it perfectly. It was hot and ready when I was finished. Great atmosphere, great food and great service! Went here for dinner on a recommendation and it did not disappoint. Our waiter said he was busy and short staffed but the service was great! I wish I could give it 10 stars because it is absolutely the best chicken tikka I have ever had and it is worth every penny. Anyone who loves Indian food like I do would love the food at this restaurant. The garlic naan is really fabulous. Also be sure to go when they're not closed from 2 to 430. The owner and the workers in the restaurant are super nice. I'm still trying to get the owner to put one of his restaurants down here in Vero Beach. SO GOOD. I just went here tonight january 17th, 2026. The food was so delicious, flavorful, and spiced so well. I liked that you could chose the spice level of the chicken tikka masala because i like to have a little kick and not just a sweeter dish. What I had: - Medium spicy Chicken tikka masala - delicious flavor and good spice - Garlic naan - very yummy - spicy Paneer from appetizer side (forgot the exact name) it had an indo- chinese sauce i believe and it was perfectly spiced and had some onion and bell pepper - rasmalai (dessert) - subtly sweet and left you feeling light and not weighed down the service was so good too and the restaurant smelled like fresh spices but not in an over powering way! read more

Good food. Good staff. A large selection. I like pretty much everything hot, so vindaloo or phaal, which is well-seasoned besides. It could be too hot for some, but pay attention to the heat scale noted then. It's very good as far as Indian food in my opinion. Nice lighting. Pretty decorations and painting job. Hindu-style statues. Sort of rustic. Nice furniture. Whenever I'm around, I consider it. Give it a shot if you're into Indian food, or if you don't know, try what you think you can handle. Taste of India, 606 N. Wickham Rd., Melbourne, FL 32935 4.5 Stars I thought two things when the name Taste of India popped up on my random name generator. First, oh joy, I'm going OTB today and the second was, this has to be a chain. Do you know how many towns and cities in this country have a Taste of India restaurant? I assure you, it's a lot. Alas, I couldn't find hide nor hair of a corporate entity online. If you do, please let me know. This location in Melbourne has been here since 2002, so they must be doing something right. Upon entering, I was seated and handed a menu while told my server would be with me shortly. It's standard so far. John soon approached and introduced himself as our waiter for the meal. John was easily the WORST waitstaff person I have ever encountered in my 57 years. We were the first customers in the joint and this oxygen thief's only table. This is a perfect example of why I don't consider service when rating a place. Outstanding quality, execution and flavors are to be found here, but the service from John is so maddening. I finally got up and asked the owner if John was his brother-in-law or some other relation. He got visibly upset with me and asked why I thought that. I replied, "Why else would you hire someone so incompetent?" The funny thing about this exchange is that John was standing right there and had to have heard what I said, but he just stood there with a vacant look. It was all I could do to keep my inner comiconomenclaturist in check when addressing John, as the names were writing themselves in my head. Why am I harping on poor John, you ask? I put in an order for five dishes along with tea and soda for me and my companion. After 20 minutes, John returned with the food. Well, some of it. I asked him when the other dishes were coming, and he said, "What other dishes?" I'll let that sink in a second. Ole Lunkhead forgot to write down three of our orders, so we only got two out of the five entrees ordered. At least we got our drinks... The entrees we did receive (Chicken Saag and Tandoori Chicken) were spectacularly executed and brimming with complex flavor combinations found only in cuisine from the Indian sub-continent. The Chicken Saag had a delicate balance between spice and cream, with fresh spinach holding them in check. The chicken was tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. The Tandoori Chicken had to be some of the best I have yet had. This dish gained worldwide fame after being popularized by the Moti Bahal restaurant in New Delhi in the late 1940s. The chicken is marinated in yogurt and spices and then cooked in a tandoor, a cylindrical clay oven. Whoever was operating the tandoor today certainly knew what they were doing as, again, this was some of the best I have ever had. The chicken was superbly tender and flavorful, while the accompanying veggies were steamed to a delightful al dente. I also found the accompanying naan to be warm, delicious and superb on the palate. While John garnered a zero tip as he forgot three dishes we ordered. I'm disappointed to leave this 2-star review, as I was a regular long-time supporter of Taste of India. The good part and reason for 2 stars: the friendly wait-staff. Only 2 of them and a busser, ran a full house. The not so good: There is no consistency in the dish flavors and spice level. On my last visit, I asked if the chicken was marinated in yogurt or my meal had dairy in it, as I was prepared to eat vegan, as it is a safer bet for me (dairy allergy). I was told it did not have any dairy. Well I suffered the symptoms of dairy ingestion over the next few days, so I wouldn't recommend to someone vegan or dairy-free. I ordered my chicken dish "extra spicy", even explained that the last few times it wasn't spicy enough and not to be afraid of spice. What I received was so bland that I had to order a side of spices to give it enough flavor to enjoy. Another thing I noticed, that is bothersome, is the way they never give you a detailed bill to review, but bring an electronic signature pad to your table with a total amount. Notice the tipping defaults start at 20%-30%. That's crazy! read more

We've been enjoying this restaurant for 3 years and the food is usually quite good, and service is always great. However, at our recent visit we learned that the wait staff is not allowed to accept tips. We got this info accidentally when we asked the waiter if they preferred cash and the waiter said they don't get tips. When we tried to ask more questions the waiter didn't want to say anything more for fear of getting in trouble. Hopefully the staff is paid a good wage... but who knows?? At the very least, the owner should display a sign and a statement on the menus explaining that tips are not accepted, and that they pay their staff well (I hope they do!). The tips that we have been paying for the last three years were just going to the owner. I think that is unethical. read more

I haven't been to Taste of India in a long time before there was Yelp or before I was an avid Yelper. The lunch buffet was spot on. Loved the three bean salad. Several dishes were labeled vegan. That was appreciated. Loved the eggplant chettinad & beans thoran. The mushroom pulao was quite alright. Loved the mushroom saag & Daal Malkahni w/ Rajmah. One of the most unique things of the buffet was the uttappam w/ coconut chutney. This is a savory pancake popular in South India. The lunch buffet rotates prices from Mon, Tues, Wed at $11 to $13 on Thurs & Fri. Sat & Sun is $15. Worth checking out for an enjoyable experience! read more

Lunch buffet! Great way to a bunch of different Indian food without feeling disappointed when you are unhappy with the plate you ordered. I love trying new food flavors and styles so this was a good fit. The inside of this restaurant looks great, gold everywhere, nice and clean. Staff was nice and friendly as well. After trying a few things on the buffet, I asked one of the workers who was filling up the buffet what was suppose to be hot or spicy. I was informed that nothing they have will be spicy but they could offer a sauce. I said Yes, please. This wasn't what I would call a sauce, it was a thick paste like salsa that they had to make to my request. When it was delivered, I was told this is very hot. I said ok, thank you. I rolled a peice of chicken in it and put it in my mouth. Immediately, I said this is Blended up habanero fresh. Didn't have a very much of a flavor. It just tasted like a straight habanero. It was pretty awesome, it lit me right up! My nose started running pretty quickly and the habanero oil stuck on my tongue. It wasn't the worst I've ever had it was very strong. It wasn't hot enough to make my nose run profusely. But it was hot enough turn my face red cause my eyes to water and my mouth to burn up. Apparently I looked pretty bad. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AND I WILL TELL YOU WHY. I seldom write reviews but these people have totally upset me. I waited for 20 minutes for someone to seat me, after watching the waiter look at me when I came in. A gentleman from the back register area walked up to seat me. Then after I was seated, no one came to take my order at all. I sat and watched as two other couples (white) were seated directly beside me, who came in 20 minutes after me and were immediately seated. They immediately came to take their order and ask for their drinks and brought them some appetizers for the table. I was seated next to them, on the same side. I watched three different staff members attend to them. I had to grab a black plate off the table in front of me and bang it on the table in order to get someone's attention. Still nothing. I then raised my arms up and said hello can anyone see me? It was only then that the waiter came over to tell me he didn't see me after watching me for twenty minutes as he walked back and forth to take other people's orders. Unbelievable!!! The waiter then had the nerve to ask me if I needed something. No one brought me anything to the table, nor offered to take my order and I'm literally inches away from the two white couples to my left. I pushed the table away from me and left. Unbelievable!!! I will never attempt to eat here again. Obviously I wasn't the right complexion for them to notice me. I've never felt so disrespected in a restaurant before. Their food may be good but if you're a darker complexion like me, their service is beyond horrible. They don't deserve the star I have to give them to post this review. read more

I ordered recently from Taste of India on Wickham Road in Melbourne after a number of years. The food quality is still excellent, and the portions are fulfilling. I ordered the shrimp phaal (extra hot and peppery shrimp curry) and the raita (yogurt salad) with basmati rice. Heaven was on earth for me even though some may consider phaal a taste of hell because of a possible strong kick in certain anatomical places after eating. Anyway, I would still recommend this restaurant for those seeking authentic Indian cuisine in Brevard County. They have been in business for over twenty years and have served the community well as a locally owned family friendly restaurant. The decor was charming, service was attentive and well executed, and the Star of the show, the food was EXCELLENT! Meal was opened up with some nice flat crisps, didn't catch the name. Mom and I had pakoras, chicken tikka masala, chicken malai kabab, and aloo gobi. Mom also had a nice garden salad with an excellent house dressing. Portions were hearty (we so didn't finish, and I apologized to the food, it deserved to all be eaten!), chicken was super tender and the dishes were all well spiced.
