Listen, there are very few places that sell CRISPY Pad Thai - we never found anything comparable here in MA in the 20+ years we lived here and are finding the same to be true in our new home in Raleigh. So of course there was no question we'd make the trip to Hyannis Bamboo - and we were not disappointed! EVERYTHING - from the relaxed eclectic ambiance and open, yet private booth seating - to the exquisitely prepared cocktails and appetizers - to the blow-your-mind amazing entrees - was intensely satisfying. We first walked in and were greeted right away. They have a very large menu. Multiple kinds of foods. I had the chicken chow mein. Very fresh, the sauce was light with just a nice bite of vegetables and chicken. Had a couple moscal mules. Very clean place. Food was definitely hot. Prices are reasonable. read more

We went back to this place this year for Christmas takeaway and were sorely disappointed. Our food was ALL cold, some bland and flavorless and most tough and rubbery. The food was served up quickly enough, my husband seeing that the food we ordered for 3PM was waiting with a bunch of other orders at 2:45 when we arrived so it was all cold. The place is bright and quite busy but it was a very bad meal. I doubt we will be returning. read more

I want to give Helen the greatest shout-out for being so awesome, friendly, warm, and inviting as our waitress. For background, my best friend passed away two weeks ago, and Bamboo has been the easy meeting ground to stop and eat with our ones while our world has been turning upside down. Helen has waited on me and my loved one at least 3 times in the last 2 weeks. Without knowing our circumstances, she had us all smiling and laughing every time we came in. She brought brightness and kindness to our experience. and worked her butt off to ensure we had a great experience every time. She served us tonight, and when I saw that we were randomly placed in her section, I was delighted knowing we were going to have her as our waitress. When I was served maki roll before appetizer I knew there was going to be a problem. Food was thrown at me all at once. Sashimi was very thinly sliced. Service was meh. Much to my shock, I was charged $5 for green tea. A group of us dined here last minute, we arrived around 8:30pm on a Sunday night. Everything appeared clean and well put together. The bathroom was very clean and well maintained. We were told they have buffet but had just missed it as it was done at 8pm. It was a group of 9 of us, and we all ordered a variety of food and drinks, and we all agreed that everything was delicious except the chicken skewers, which were flavorless. We had dinner last night and had a great experience. Our sever, Helen, was so accommodating and wonderful for our party of 8. She was great with our 4 kids and gave some suggestions on drinks. The food was excellent and fresh. We got there on the earlier side so it was pretty quiet around our table, the bar was busy though. When we left around 6:30, the restaurant was getting full. Dissapointed! We have visited twice recently, hoping the less than mediocre experience was an anomaly but no it wasn't. I recommend you Skip this restaurant. Serving sizes are VERY SMALL and the prices are too high. Again, during this second visit the flavor is missing and all of the food was served lukewarm. Went there for new years. 5 of us. Waitress was extremely rude and pushy. Food quality was terrible as they were making in bulk and charging $50 per person for Buffett. No problem for the price - big problem for the quality. Waitress was loud and kept trying to force us out. We were there a total of 45mins. Have a 9yr old who had half a plate and the waitress tried to charge him for adult price. Even asked him to stand up and brought him to the manager as he is tall for his age and asked if he should be charged as a child. I couldn't fu$&ing believe it. We ate quickly and got the check. The waitress tacked on the gratuity automatically for a group of six but only 5 ate. Caught her and had her reverse it. The whole ordeal was absolutely terrible - food quality was garbage and service was the worse I've had in about a decade. Will definitely never be returning or recommending to eat. There are not that many Chinese sit down dining restaurants available in Cape Cod. This one is a good choice because it has good food, helpful service, and it is a clean, beautiful, upscale restaurant. I got a black samurai roll, which had tempura shrimp inside and seared tuna on the outside and yellowtail shashimi. Both were delicious and fresh. My husband got the pan fried noodles, that had large pieces of chicken, beef, and shrimp over fried noodles. The meat toppings were great, but the noodle was more deep fried all the way through instead of pan fried and soft on the inside. It still was tasty though. We started with the spicy baked scallop which comes in a large shell with cheese and scallions. I'm not used to cheese on seafood, and it's nice. Just the right amount of cheese that you can taste the chopped scallops and mushrooms. The flying fish roe being cooked into the dish is new to me, and lends a supporting role of salt and brine flavor to the mix. If you're coming for the bar, you're good. The food on the other hand, is inexcusably bad. We ordered beef with sesame and it was thin and tough to chew. Shrimp tempura was bland and over-breaded. Chicken wings were dry and the skin was tough. Teriyaki beef just flat out tasted bad, like gamey. It didn't seem that any of the food was fresh. Trader Joe's mandarin chicken and shrimp tempura are a huge step up. If they had served us that, we'd never know the difference and would have given them 5 stars.
