The tomato bisque was creamy and full of flavor. I wish I had ordered the bowl instead of the cup. Being a fan of tiramisu, I had to try it. It did not disappoint! It truly melted in my mouth. We did order carry out prior and everything was great... we had some of the sushi rolls, barbecue ribs, the shrimp, korean bbq ribs... all were great. We dined in the other day and food was even better! Food is always better when dining in. We had their Cuban shrimp, oh man soooo good! The sauce was DELISH! I asked for more bread so I could dip it in that sauce! We also had their potato pancakes, and fish tacos... all were so good! Our boys had their burgers and came out cooked perfect temperature. We finished off with their cookie pie and that was amazing! The service was great and everyone was very nice and helpful, during these difficult times. we randomly decided to hit south haven't after a day of motocross and i couldn't have been happier with our dinner choice. the people working here deserve a raise. the hostess was harassed by just about every single person who walked in. offered bribes for a table. yelled at. stomped at. and she remained cool calm and collected. i guess when you quote people for an hour and a half wait they don't think you're serious? lol. luckily we missed the dinner rush, had a table outside within ten minutes. our waitress sophie was nice and just the right level of attentive. did not feel overbearing and we never were left wondering where she went. i also commend her for how well she handled the table of 8 extremely intoxicated adults behind us. i've never seen people that age act so poorly in public. it was a lot lolllll. the food was FIRE. like what did yall do to the rice that came with the shrimp? i could've cried. only thing ill say is don't order a cocktail if you want a buzz. they come out in little plastic cups and it was the weakest bloody mary i've ever had. stick with beer if you're down to drink. otherwise amazing we will be back. read more

When we got to South Haven, we asked around for restaurant recommendations. We were told that Taste was the best, and we were not disappointed. The menu definitely has something for everyone! We asked our server for some of her favorites. So glad that we asked because the Korean Chicken BBQ was not on our radar, and it ended up being our favorite dish of the night. The sauce was unbelievably tasty! The bay scallops were light and buttery. The sushi was perfectly done too, and the chef was even nice enough to give us a bowl of sushi rice on the side (my husband's favorite). We ordered the fish tacos, parmesan triangles (meh), Korean bbq chicken, tuna tartare, mac n cheese (chicken and bacon), but my favorite was the filet bites - OMG cooked perfectly, with wonderful texture and seasoning. My drinks were wonderful - a sauvignon rosé, lemon drop, and sauvignon blanc. Service: friendly, attentive without being overbearing, but what impressed me was her bar knowledge. We love this place! Small plates and martinis with a view of Phoenix Street and the Black River channel. I adore their pear and blue cheese salad! So stinking good!!! If you're a tomato soup fan you have got to try the tomato bisque. Chef Joel's is the best ever. Creamy and flavorful with hints of basil - I don't like tomato soup but I LOVE this stuff. So good it makes you sad to get to the bottom of the bowl. We had the Mac and cheese special, which was just Mac and cheese topped with pizza sauce and pepperoni. It tasted slightly like the noodle has been boiled in dirty water. We had the potato pancakes, which must be fried in the same oil as something fishy. The apple chutney that came with it tasted slightly metallic. We ordered the Korean BBQ chicken thighs which were good, but a bit too salty. We also got the German sausage with overcooked spetzel. The sausage was flavorful but overall salty. The mustard that it came with was probably the best part of the meal! It's clearly a popular restaurant, but we won't be back. read more

Oh. Wow.. Thank you, fellow Yelpers, for great suggestions. My first bite was of the Bay Scallops Scampi and that was the oh wow moment. I followed that with a bite of the potato pancake and then the mini beef wellington. How many oh wow moments can you have in a meal? No limit at this place! The sour cream with the potato pancakes wasn't necessary in my opinion but I loved the chutney with it. The pancakes themselves were crispy, flavorful and downright delicious. The gravy with the beef wellington made us ask for a spoon and extra bread, it was just that good. Now back to those Bay Scallops scampi. It didn't look as good as it tasted. But oh my, the taste was out of this world. The scallops were cooked just right and the broth was garlicky but not overwhelming and just rich enough with the butter. I should give credit for the bread as well, it was a really nice loaf. I also had a cup of the tomato bisque. Sometimes tomato bisque is sweet and I don't mind that, but this one was not. It was also really delicious. The only thing that I might ask of the chef is to add a few more chunks of tomato, but that is me nitpicking. And last, we had really great service, thank you Heidi. The only time it wasn't absolutely perfect was when she disappeared for a while when we were longing for more slices of that delicious bread.
