Great dinner spot with lot's of small plate choices. We spent a girls day at the beach and finished our day at Taste. The previous yelp reviews were so great we had to try it for ourselves. The martini list is very extensive. My friend choice the make your make your own dirty martini. That was fun as you could chose how much olive juice to vodka you wanted, how much vermouth and the garnish you wanted to finish with. I opted for a sauvignon blanc which was tasting. With the small plates we stared with three and then ordered two more. We stared with the romaine wedge GS, which was delicious and i enjoyed the romaine as the base instead of the standard iceberg. Next was the beef wellington, and spaetzle V. Both would order again. Lastly we ordered the Korean BBQ Chicken and the Parmesan bread. The Korean BBQ was awesome! I would pass on the Parmesan bread as it was not anything special, white bread with crusted Parmesan and marinara sauce. Our server was great, fun attitude. The ambiance was a bit lacking in some areas. However, we had a wonderful dinner. read more

Overall pretty amazing. I loved the jerk shrimp! It was very spicy, which I loved and had a ton of flavor. The cilantro jalapeño rice was sweet which I didn't enjoy very well especially expecting it to be savory. The angus burger was really good, but was also pretty dry as it was choking us. This place was fantastic! We had reservations for 3:30pm on a Saturday, and it was nice to beat the crowds. I really enjoyed the 2 martinis I had (the Elderflower Breeze and the Aviation)- they were strong but has good flavors to balance out the liquor! My boyfriend enjoyed his gin and tonic and a glass of Chardonnay. The food was really excellent, we got the crispy artichokes, the Korean chicken, and the sweet and spicy shrimp and we enjoyed all of it! Overall it felt like a good amount of food for the price. Small plates selection was very diverse and everything was delicious. The servings were larger than a normal small plate serving. We stared with the Michigan Cheese Plate. It was gone very quickly. Followed up with the Korean BBQ, filet tips, Mussels, and green olive humus. They had a nice selection of speciality drinks in the menu. The decor was very well done. Nice Michigan vibe. Wow!!! Taste knocked it out of the park last night on both food and service. We tried 5 of the Tapas dishes and I truly cannot pick a favorite. Congrats Chef. Then to top it off our server Melinda was fantastic. Not only guiding us on the right amount dishes to order but also being unbelievable kind and caring to our adult son with Autism. Wait, I am not done yet. When my wife and son went to the restrooms he waited outside the women's for her her. Another employee ( Katie) waited with Cullen while he waited for my wife to make sure he was comfortable. We just bought a vacation home in South Haven, and this was our first visit to taste. We went to Taste for dinner our first night in South Haven and it set the perfet tone for a great vacation. We were pleased with the variety of the menu. It has something for everyone. The mac and cheese was wonderful. We got the chef's choice mac and cheese. This changes frequently, but their base mac and cheese is great. We also got the bay scallops. They were perfectly cooked. The service was was great as well. The staff was friendly and we were never waiting very long. If we go back to South Haven, we will be making a return visit for dinner! read more

If I could put 0 stars I would. Was on the waitlist and received a single notification that our table was ready. It said nothing about how long we had to arrive, and didn't have any way to confirm that we were on our way. Then received another notification, not as a reminder, but to let us know we were no longer on the waitlist. I called back to be put back in the wait list and was told it would now be an hour (there was 2 of us). Paused to ask the individual with me if an hour was too long of a wait, and then when I continued back with the employee saying I would like to be back on the waitlist, they refused to do so. "I'm not going to put you on the wait list, I'm sorry," she said. No need for that apology, because I won't be coming back. read more

Our experience here was just ok. The fish tacos (made with blue gills which seemed exciting) had a couple bones in them which was disappointing and the corn tortillas, which I usually love, could've been warmed or even slightly crispy. The kids chicken strips were not freshly made, they were frozen, which is ok but surprised me. Our romaine wedge was good but they could've cut the end off of the head of romaine in my opinion. We also had a goat cheese and beet salad which was good but could've used some salt. The filet bites were definitely tender and cooked medium like we requested but we weren't overly joyed with the sauce on the top. I think they would have been better without. The Phoenix Roll was also alright. Not the best but also not the worst. Our waitress was nice but she definitely spent more time at the other tables around us. She took our order then came back to see how our food was after we were served and I think that's it. I'm not sure if her reasoning was because we had two kids or if she felt like the other tables deserved more time and would tip her better but she definitely didn't work our table very hard. We are glad we had a chance to eat here and form our own opinion but we don't have a desire to go back. I wish you could give 1/2 stars because I'd probably give 2 1/2 stars instead of just 2. read more
