Yum! I've had tastea in GG and only recently tried the one in Alhambra. Customer service was wonderful (came on a Saturday afternoon so not so busy). Set up is the same as other locations. Some reviews mention how sweet the drinks are even when the sweetness is lowered. I've actually had the same experience with other locations so I'm not sure if it's just a company wide thing. For good measure I recommend 50% or lower if you don't like your drinks super sweet. I can't speak for the milk teas as I usually get the Great White. Very efficient during these COVID times! I always enjoyed Tastea for their fruity drinks more than their milk tea drinks, just because they're a lot more refreshing and the tea is kind of weak (in terms of caffeine). I was a bit disappointed with my drink the last time I was there. Yes, a bit too watered down even with less ice. I asked for half sugar too, and now wonder if all that sugar in my drinks back then masked the actual flavor? Or even the tap water taste? Who knows... But it's probably partially true. My sister had been to other locations before and she was thrilled this store had opened on main street in the 99 ranch (formerly ralphs and across from LA fitness) plaza. They have large 32 oz. Drinks here which adds to the novelty of things. There's a decent selection of fruit based drinks here. The peach me sweetea is one of my usual go to orders. I've also ordered the bootea shaker which isn't bad as well. And today I got the unknown. So far all the drinks have been good, it mostly depends on what you prefer for the fruit flavors and what kind of toppings you want. I haven't tried any of the milk tea drinks yet. The food is surprisingly good here as well. I've gotten their fries as well as their chicken. I usually go for the highest spiciness level or the one right below it but even the milder portions are seasoned well so there's a lot of flavor. Tons of parking in the lot here. So glad that this location opened up. Now I don't need to drive all the way to Rowland for Tastea refreshments! It's located at the Alhambra Courtyard between 99 Ranch and AAA, so there is plenty of parking. I got the Yummy Gummy, a blended combination of orange, raspberry, and passion fruit with peach bits. The best way I can explain what this drink taste like is comparing it the Trident Tropical Twist flavor without all the artificial elements and alcohol sugar. The employees were very helpful. I downloaded the app and signed up for an account so I got a free sign up bonus 20 oz drink that I was trying to redeem. Thought that I was only able to redeem the drink in person, which is a problem because you can only order online right now. However, the employee that was helping me explained that to redeem the drink, you just need to do the usual checkout procedure and click the redeem button right before you add your preferred payment option. I had to get the fries even though I just had dinner because the seasoning they use here is addictive! Except, it was not so much the case on this visit. I am not sure if it was this location or if they changed their recipe, but it was not the same. I was a bit disappointed, but at least the drink was still as delicious. The Peach Me Sweetea is my absolute favorite! I love the bits of strawberry and peach that is infused into the black tea. It does come a bit sweet, so I always cut the sweetness by 50%. Thinking of Tastea takes me back to my college days, when my roommates and I would grab variations of their fruit teas with the popular green boba before heading home to relax and have hour long conversations with one another. Back then, Tastea was THE boba place to visit as they had a variety of fruit teas and toppings not popular in other boba stores. And most of the locations were in the OC/Irvine area. So hearing that Tastea finally opened up in the SGV - I was pretty excited. They're located in the same plaza as 99 Ranch Market on Main St. There is a very large parking lot, so if you don't mind walking a bit - parking is not an issue. Prices have steadily increased over the years, but it's still not too bad. Most drinks are around $4-5 for a 20 oz., but are a dollar or so more for a 32 oz. They have their specialty drinks (fruit teas), the regular teas (Jasmine, iced tea, etc.), smoothies, and slushy freezes. They also offer food combinations (fries, chicken, shrimp). I chose the classic Peach Me Sweetea for $4.25/20 oz. with an additional $0.50 more for the honey boba. Price was almost $5 for about a regular sized drink at most other stores. I thought the tea tasted pretty good - very refreshing for the hot day. I could taste the peach and strawberry tea, but I felt that peach was the more dominant flavor in the drink. The little peach and strawberry bits were also a nice change from the normal chewy boba. I do wish they included more boba in the drink, but the boba was cooked perfectly. Chewy, good flavor, and when chewed with the fruit bits, tasted extremely delicious. The storefront in Alhambra is a bit on the smaller side. They do have several tables inside and outside of the store, but the store is longer in length than width. I felt like the workers were very nonchalant and annoyed when I was in the store that day. One thing that irked me was I watched as the worker making my drink put the cap over the cup. Some of the beverage leaked out onto the cap, and he picked up a towel from the side to wipe off the excess beverage before using the same towel to wipe down the work station counter. I observed the cap, and the section for inserting the straw is slightly open, meaning the towel could possibly touch the tea. It was a little gross to think of how many counters that towel had touched before it got to touching the cap of my drink. tl;dr - Tastea is still pretty solid on their drinks, but prices have gone up a bit. Location is easy to access, but I do hope they step up on maintaining a healthy environment inside the storefront. I used a gift $5 card to pay fro my order and was only given a $0.53 discount instead of $1.28 (15% off from $8.50). I was given the 15% discount based on $3.50 (after using my $5 gift card) and not off of the full amount. I always frequent the Tastea in Rowland Height's Yes Plaza, so I was super excited to find a location closer to home in Alhambra. This location is very convenient and with plenty of parking. Service is usually fast. My go-to order is the Peach Me Sweet Tea with honey boba (less ice and less sugar). One of the reasons I like Tastea so much is because of all the actual fruit bits in the drink to make it taste slightly healthier and less artificial. Honey boba is green or blue in color, and is probably one of the better ones I've had because of the sweetness and chewiness that other places lack. This time I also ordered the Buttload'a Fries and they were disappointing. Yes, I got a ton of fries for the price, but I really did not like the Tastea dust. The fries ended up being overly seasoned with saltiness and spiciness. It was overwhelming and just burdensome on the palate. I love fries, but this was just too much. I gave away the fries to my bf and he didn't really enjoy it either. We ended up tossing everything out in the end. Overall, Tastea has great drink options, but I wouldn't get the fries again. If I do, it would have to be super light seasoning of the Tastea dust or none at all. Got the 20 oz iced black tea, medium sweet ($3.75) and the 20 oz flavored iced black tea, medium sweet ($3.75). For the flavored iced tea, you can choose up to 2 fruit juice flavors, so I picked passionfruit juice and lychee juice. Even at medium sweet, I can see the sugar syrup swirling in the tea, but it wasn't too heavily sweet (maybe the swirl was from the fruity flavors as the iced tea didn't have the syrup swirls). Both drinks were refreshing on the hot, ashy SGV day. Since we're in COVID times, no indoor space to sip your drinks. There's just enough room inside the door for you to get your drink and take off.
