I found this rec in SGV eats on FB groups and have been meaning to try...if you are looking for authentic Taiwanese popcorn chicken. I'm not Taiwanese, but honestly Taiwanese popcorn is my fave and one of my very best friends is Taiwanese so I can attest to popcorn chicken being crispy on the outside and moist chicken on the inside with the right amount of seasoning just how you like it. Also, I like the extra touch of basil. I love the crispiness. As you can see from my picture attached, I kept eating from the cup and it was never ending so they didn't skimp on the cup. Prices were decent. I also ordered winter melon milk tea less sweet which is not an ordinary order lol and they gave it to me half sweet. Honestly it was just right! So I have to give them 5/5 stars. Also because they gave me a Large cup when I asked for a Medium and maybe because they made extra by accident. They were being nice! I appreciate that. It's Sunday afternoon, the small bubble tea specialty chain store has been around for a long time. It's fairly bright, clean with seating inside. Service is friendly. Price is really reasonable. We got the minced ground pork rice and popcorn chicken (mild)for $8 each! They are both tasty and authentic Taiwanese style. I took off a point because we really want to try shave ice for $8, but the seating area is closed (lack of worker or other issues). Overall, this is a gem in the area if you want to eat snacks. Absolutely terrible service. The man who works here (possibly the owner) is incredibly rude and talks down to customers in a demeaning way. I tried to support a small business, but clearly customers aren't welcome here. If you're going to be disrespectful, I'll gladly take my money to Tapioca Express next door, better quality, bigger portions, and they actually know how to treat people. Lollicup Fresh has been a long term staple in the Alhambra area for years! While it isn't the best tea spot in town, you definitely get your money's worth. I usually come here for the ground pork bowl as it is still under $10 and is quite filling. This place is strictly to go only, as they have closed off their dining area since C19. The service here is always friendly, and the staff is quick for your service. There's plenty of street parking in the front, and a 2 level structure parking in the back. Lollicup will always have a special place in my heart. It is an iconic OG boba spot for affordable drinks and snacks. I remember stopping by after school with my friends and it always hit the spot. Drinks are served quick here and the service is great! It is to go only as I've never seen the dining space or back door open. The owner is super sweet and always makes sure I have a good experience here. Strawberry banana smoothie was okay. Texture was good but flavor was a bit diluted 2.5/5 Hawaiians dance(5/5) was delicious! It is so refreshing on a hot day. My boyfriend likes to drive, and I don't, so I feel like we are complementary in that area. He was enjoying a drive and took me to get boba at Tapioca Express next door, but they were closed. Not sure if it's closed for now or closed forever, but we still got our boba fit next door at Lollicup. This location of Lollicup in Alhambra doesn't really have any seating to sit and hang out. It seems like it's more of a take-out spot. My sweet boyfriend had a regular Signature Milk Tea with Honey Boba ($4.45) and I had their Almond Milk Tea with Taro Pudding ($6). The drinks were quickly made, but when we got them it looked so small. The cups definitely shrank from what I remember Lollicup regular sizes to be, while the pricing went up. Nevertheless we still enjoyed our boba. This would have been my high school self's young dreams come true having a boy drive me to get boba. Goals! my family and i have been coming here for two years! this is the most superior lollicup we have ever been to because the food is so incredibly fresh. every time we are nearby, we have to get the popcorn chicken, the fried tempura, the calamari, and the calamari balls. it's seasoned with the best taiwanese seasoning and sprinkled with FRIED BASIL, which is how you know it's gonna be delicious. the food can take more than a few minutes, but that goes to show how fresh it is, it comes out steaming hot and the popcorn chicken is soo crunchy and juicy and nearly burns my mouth while im trying to gobble it down! and AGAIN the food is amazing. you can get a plate of rice with braised pork, sauteed string beans, and mapo tofu with a whole regular sized serving of popcorn chicken, with a drink! talk about a great combo, cooked with actual love and care. i loooooove the string beans here! i do love the managers here, theyre so friendly and they always welcome my family. they closed off the seating area inside but theres a couple chairs next to the cashier. the inside is super nostalgic of those early 2010 boba shops and this shop in particular reminds me more of a small business than a chain, because of how distinctly different and better it is than most others. i love the food here and i love how it's become a tradition in my family. The lady with short dark hair who works here always has something to say about the order my partner likes. She told me once "coffee jelly doesn't go with that." In which I replied " it's not for me so it doesn't matter." And today she made a comment again to the younger polite gentleman who attended us in their language while she was making the drink. Back in the day (early 2010s), this, along with Quickly and Tapioca Express, would be places I go as they are relatively cheap, and the pricing relative to other boba places still stands today. Rather than a $6-7+ boba drink, you can find $4 ones here, though the quality is as expected to not be the best. I got the almond milk tea with boba half sweet, and it is not that good. Boba is very mushy and not as tasty as the high quality boba pearls even in its original form (as most places have brown sugar mixed in for enhanced flavor). The almond flavor is a bit strong and comes more from powder, so it was a bit overwhelming and tastes quite fake so it wasn't too enjoyable. At 50% sweet, it's still a bit too sweet. The fact that these places still exist amongst a lot of boba places might be due to the fact this is one of the cheaper boba places out there, and caters to specific clientele. Personally, I'd rather go without boba twice as long as I want to in order to get a higher quality boba drink than 2 of these drinks. read more

The place is to-go only, which wasn't much of a problem for my family since the area has a few benches outside. They do have a rewards program through Fivestar. Service is fast and friendly - the worker was happy to provide extra cups and utensils for us to share the shaved ice. Specifically for shaved ice, I like the more classic toppings so I recommend the grass jelly, red bean, mung bean, boba pearls, and egg pudding.
