Tastea is great for fruit teas or fruit smoothies! What's unique about them is that their boba is green! Doesn't taste different from normal boba but it's a fun color. I went on 12/11 and their boba was a mix of red and green (possibly for Christmas?) which was fun. They have regular boba (unsweet) and honey boba (sweet) for you to choose depending on your preference. The boba itself is a little too soft in consistency, but the honey boba has a good sweetness. Their fruit teas are pretty sweet and definitely hit you with fruit flavor. I wish some of their fruit teas were made with green tea instead of black, but the black tea does stand up to the fruit flavors well to give you that tea flavor. Decided to try this Tastea yesterday and I'm so pleased by the service & safety precautions in place. I've written many reviews about how thankful I am for all the measures this chain boba restaurant is taking in order to keep employees and customers safe from COVID-19. At this Tastea, you CANNOT walk in. Orders must be places online or through a 3rd party app for pickup. With that being said, all employees were wearing masks & gloves. Unlike the Tastea in Fountain Valley, this one did not use a seal-it sticker (which is perfectly fine). I ordered the medium spicy chicken (which to me was super spicy), but I loved it & weak sauce on the side. Tastea serves the highest quality chicken compared to cha or lollicup. I'm a sucker for the Avocado Avalanche. The teas would be my secondary choices. I visit here on occasion when I am in town, especially on warm days. The drink prices are virtually similar to those at other boba spots in the area. Food-wise, I have only ordered the popcorn chicken. Their spicy is SPICY. I was a bit unsatisfied with the snack because I found there to be more batter than chicken in my serving. It may have been an off-day. The service is not quick, but it isn't painfully slow either. The venue is particularly small and very noticeable on busy days. There isn't much standing room to wait, especially when there is a line. Finding a parking spot isn't too mundane either. I came here last weekend because I was craving popcorn chicken and Tastea has the spiciest, crunchiest, bang-for-your-buck popcorn chicken out there. The service was quick and my drink and food were ready within 5-10 minutes. Customers started strolling in soon after and it was pretty busy. Half way through the drink, there was a foul smell that hit me like a truck!!! I wasn't sure if it came from the trash can or if someone stepped in poo and walked out. A few of the other customers and I started starring at each other because it was so sudden and the employees hadn't done anything about it until they heard us whispering. When they finally noticed, they threw out the trash and took out the mats but the smell still lingered. The boba game is tough in OC, arguably there's more boba shops per block than there are Starbucks. Five stars to Tastea for consistently being delicious and great service. They are notorious for making you a new drink if you aren't too thrilled with the one you got. I asked for a sample in an effort to try something new and they don't do samples since drinks are made to order. She assured me that if I didn't like the new one I could always go to my all time favorite lychee peachy (sub green tea and less sweet with honey boba). My favorite tea place! I love all their teas and smoothies! Amazing strawburst is my go-to during the hot summer months. It's pretty amaaazing! Everything is so delicious! The popcorn chicken is hot and spicy. The fries are crispy and flavorful. This specific location has dining tables inside to hang out and eat compared to the one in Garden Grove which only has like two tables outside. Service is always friendly and fast. read more

I really like Tastea and this is no exception. I'm actually a fan of the one in Chino Hills and I am now a fan here. I can say that I do prefer the chicken in Chino Hills better. Maybe I just got a not as good batch, but it was still good. The drink is just as how I remember: full of flavor and very refreshing. If you are not a fan of spices this place probably isn't for you. I recommend the level 2 spiciness. It is just the right amount to me. The shop is clean and is the size of a normal boba shop. There are no complaints about the service. I hadn't been to a tastea in a long time and was super excited to try it again. My drink was delicious and make faster than expected but the guy who rang me and my cousin up seems to only have good costumer service when it comes to Asians. He was a complete asshole to every costumer that walked up of any other ethnicity, no matter how nice they were when they walked up. I could understand being an ass if we were rude to him in anyway. I work in the service industry and I get how it works, customers are rude to you and you're fed up after a long shift but we were kind and tipped him and he still continued to be short and snarky with my cousin. My fav boba place in OC! I always get the Peach Me Sweet Tea w/ honey boba, and it satisfies my cravings every time. I haven't tried any of the other drinks because this is my absolute favorite. The place is kind of small, but it's a nice place to hang out at with another friend or couple of friends. The service is always extremely fast. I love Tastea - I wish I lived closer!! I've only tried their drinks here but the popcorn chicken is pretty popular too. I like their fruity drinks here because they're so unique and each fruity tea drink has its own punny name. My favorite is the strawberry ecteasy. It's a strawberry and black tea blend with bits of grass jelly. It's pretty sweet but refreshingly sweet and the tea doesn't leave a sticky feeling on your tongue like milk teas sometimes do. I've also tried the tootea fruitea which also has a black tea base but I think there are lychee or longan fruit bits. It is also refreshingly sweet. The boba here is also unique - its green! It's honey boba, I believe so it should be a little bit sweeter than usual boba, but when I tried it, it tasted like regular boba. I've also had a few sips of their fruit smoothies which are equally as awesome as their fruity teas. Definitely love going to Tastea and definitely recommend as a boba place to try!! read more

Obsessed with their Thai matcha milk tea; Would highly recommend that or the "Oh La La" blended drink which is a blend of pineapple and strawberries that give a tropical taste. Their chicken is also addictive as hell, and yes they raised their prices in the last year but at the same time you got a lot more options now and for how much you get it's worth it. Convenient to the 405, I always frequent this particular Tastea when I'm visiting home in the OC or about to leave for LA. Because I'm a gluttonous boba fiend, I always splurge for the large size to satiate the thirst for great boba. Pro tip: you can switch out the teas which use black tea for green tea! I've frequented this shop more times than I can remember (or would like to admit) but every single time the drinks come out at the perfect balance of tea taste to sweetness. Should anything not come to your liking, the service team is super quick to swoop in and make any adjustments too! I don't give 5 stars review, but when I do, it's only for good balls.. Boba balls that is. I am very picky with my boba drinks since I've worked in boba stores before and know what most places put in their drinks. Tastea has always been my favorite since their drinks are always on point, fresh and delicious. Most importantly, their boba balls are always fresh and soft but chewy. Most boba places will sell you old boba that are hard and dry. The staff at this location and any other locations are always friendly and sweet. One thing I would def recommend- don't over season the fries anymore. They were way too salty and paired with the chicken made it impossible to finish. I paid them 60 cents with coins and even though the amount of boba given was absolutely ridiculous, we just let it be. But later my friend found that they charged him AGAIN for the 60 cents! So in total, we paid $1.20 for the smallest amount of boba. $1.20 is not a large sum, but it's just the ethics behind it is really disappointing. I came here all the way from Nor Cal to try this place out since I've heard so much about it. I ordered a peach me sweet tea. They use green boba, which I personally found kinda weird. Despite the alien green-looking boba, it was actually soft and chewy. The drink itself was alright. I would give it a 2. It's very sweet and fruity. Their customer service is awesome though. When I first took a sip of the peach me sweet tea, I was overwhelmed with the sweetness. I brought it back to the counter and asked if they could make the drink less sweet. The girl behind the counter was more than happy to fix my drink. I thought that was pretty awesome of her. No questions asked. She just did it upon my request. Another cool thing they do is offer half gallon and 1 gallon sizes for their drinks if you want to take some home. my coworkers and I always go for boba runs here and it's not likely I write a bad review without trying to at least resolve it first hand, first. Today the girls and I were eating fries we had brought back to our work from Tastea and of course not until we ate nearly half of it we discovered a metal nail/screw whatever it was inside of our fries. It was even battered and deep fried (pictures provided). I called the store to tell them about the situation, the girl remembers our order since it was a large order. Told me it was "probably the potato peeler" and proceeded with "come back soon for a $10 comped card" (right.. a measly gift card to a place that served me a fried screw LMAO.. jokes on you..) to compensate. First off: AKDFLJDSA I'm a bit more forgiving of this location since the grand opening was yesterday. Cons: This location is more expensive than Garden Grove location!!! MY WALLET IS LITERALLY DRENCHED IN TEARS. Ugh, Hopefully the prices will go down once the joint gets up and running. A dollar more made a big difference especially if you ordered for a group of people under one tab like I did!! Also, some of my honey bobas were undercooked and I felt a cap'n crunch in some! Pros: They had a great fathers day deal! BOGO if you're buying for your dad. The interior is really nice with a lot of awesome wooded furniture. The workers are also really friendly and bring drinks out taz-mania FAST. It's also a good hangout spot, especially if you're a UCI student. UCI kids now have a local Tastea with indoor and outdoor seating! When I went, there were a lot of teens-to-twenties hanging out in big groups. Quick Tip: Try the Peach Me BLACK Tea with Honey Boba. If you're trying Peach me SWEET tea, don't get honey boba. Personally, they're not a great mix. If you haven't been to this location, I would wait till they master the art of Tastea :( read more

I placed my order online as I had to go to work and just wanted to get there, pick them off and go. Parked and asked my daughter to get them so we could leave fast and she was ask to show the phone confirmation. How many people are you going to get coming in giving you the name America asking for her drinks. Anyway. My daughter was given her drinks without straws. How are we supposed to consume them!!! I called on my way back to give them feedback and perhaps to get an apology. The person I spoke to right away said, "we cannot compensate you with other products mam!". What kind of F*%$$%^ comment is that to start a service call with? I advised that I was not calling to ask for compensation but to give feedback, to which the employee said, you can always come back and get your straws." LOL. Really!!! In these crisis days, where customers aren't allowed to consume their food inside your premises, the least you can do is make sure you are doing your job THE RIGHT WAY.
