Loved this coffee shop find! The seasonal menu was so much fun with so many good options! The service was so kind and the inside space had good seating and a cool atmosphere. We loved the iced chai latte and the seasonal iced salted toffee latte!

Came in for the first time around Noon on Sunday 7/5/26 thanks to Yelp who guided me here for coffee. L&L is located in a huge industrial complex with tons of parking (not sure how it is during weekdays though when the other businesses are open). The coffee shop is HUGE with plenty of seating and from the looks of it- lots of regulars hanging out and enjoying their sip. Walk in and fall in line to select your coffee of choice. You can scan their QR code of items - just wish prices were posted too. L&L roasts their beans and after just one sip, you can taste the difference! I had a vanilla latte while hubby had their toffee latte. As it turns out they make their own toffee syrup which is amazing!!! They also have a great selection of foods- burritos, avo toast, quiche, a variety of bagels and a nice assortment of scones, muffins and croissants. We shared a chorizo burrito filled with potato, egg, cheese, chorizo then toasted. It came with 2 different sauces - and cool and creamy cilantro and a smokey mocajete. This too was delicious and we were so glad to have ordered this. Staff were super friendly, welcoming and very helpful. All good vibes here! Look forward to returning!!!

Many people waiting on their orders. Many people lined up to get in and order.

It's off the beaten path and an unusual location for a coffeehouse, but once we stepped inside we understood. I should have clued in by the name of the business when searching on Yelp. This is a business or ministry that a church owns and operates and while its congregation are a big section of the patrons, it's also open to the public. Their coffee menu has nice options and they have many of the same types of baked goods that other coffee shops offer; croissants, scones, cookies, pop tarts, etc. They offer a breakfast burrito that is on the greasy side, however, the flavors in it are okay. And the ubiquitous avocado toast is also available on the menu. The staff were friendly and kind. It's an odd atmosphere if you're not expecting to walk into what feels like an after church service fellowship among the congregation. Plenty of parking.

So disappointed with my $10 coffee. As a Costa Mesa native, I had pretty high expectations, but unfortunately, Lion & Lamb completely missed the mark for me. I honestly don't understand where the 4-5 star reviews are coming from when there are so many better coffee shops in the area. For starters, the coffee tasted burnt, the cold foam was watery, and the drink itself was gross. On top of that, the cashier was pretty rude when I asked for a higher coffee-to-milk ratio. She looked at me like I was asking for something completely out of the ordinary, lol. If you work at a coffee shop, customizations are pretty normal some people prefer less milk, less sugar, etc. For the price, I expected much better quality

We stopped by on a Sunday at 11 -- it was very busy, as it's also connected to a church. The line went by fairly quickly with very friendly staff. For our drinks, we got two signature drinks: *lucky matcha* and *cookie butter latte* They're both on the sweeter side but still good. They live up to the name and description. You're able to taste the marshmallow in the matcha and the biscoff and cinnamon on the latte. For food, we got *avocado toast* The bread was very fresh, thick and moist. My favorite part was the pickled onions. I'd definitely get it again. And the *breakfast burrito* is okay. Nothing outstanding - they did tell us they get them made a day before and they warm up upon order.

Really big space that's connected to the church. If you're looking for somewhere to do work - this is it! Plenty of seating with plugs and plenty of meeting rooms. It's really spacious and plenty of matcha options.

Decent case of pastries. Interior and spaciousness reminds me of The Lost Bean in Orange without the 2 story. Lots of good space for studying/working - just keep in mind not all tables are near an outlet. Spinach Cheese Croissant $6: good hefty filling and full-sized, moon-shaped croissant with nice crust. is heavy though but would be something I would buy again I've also tried their seasonal winter menu for the Banana Latte and that is sweet but addictingly good. Blueberry matcha has amazing color and is good (similar to cafes like Haru in my opinion).

Discovered this coffee shop from Yelp and so glad I did. Their Salted Toffee Iced Latte has me on a chokehold. It's so good!!! I literally schedule my Pilates or Lagree class in that area just so I can go there afterwards for a post treat. I tried their chia pudding, banana bread and their Rico veggie burrito. All were so good. Last but not least, the staff at both locations are simply the best human beings. They are always friendly and kind. I see why this place always has a line. Good coffee and great service. *The pictures are all the times I have gone to this coffee shop since discovering it over a weeks span*

    Hot Chai Tea Latte
    Yi C.

Came here for a morning meeting. Ordered a large hot chai tea latte. Perfect Chai flavoring with a hint of sweetness. Plenty of seating and tables. Relaxing atmosphere. Friendly service as well. Parking wise, there are limited spaces in front of the shop, so one would have to park in the back of the building. Additionally, the shop is a bit hidden, and I had to drive around the building twice to find the shop (on a corner, on the left side of the driveway into the parking lot). Worth coming back when I'm in town again. Come and support our local small businesses.

    Salted toffee latte
    Amy L.

Google Maps took me on a journey to find this place lol. QR code menu is located on a stand which I didn't see but I've already browsed through the yelp reviews and knew what to order. Salted toffee latte - first sip reminded me of the werther's caramel candy. There's a hint of butterscotch so you're still tasting coffee. It was a bit too sweet for me at first but the ice helps to dilute it. My only comment that there was no pricing in their menu.

    Alexis T.

Another great experience here. Really friendly service, drinks are made quickly, clean shop. The (hot) strawberry latte is WONDERFUL. So happy to hear it'll be on their upcoming summer menu too. Til next time!

Such a chill spot to study and work! They have a good amount of space and even some private meeting rooms. I got the snickerdoodle from their winter menu, I thought it was a little sweet for my liking but it was still good with the foam. Coffee came out super fast after ordering and staff was friendly too. They have free wifi as well! I wish they had a sign for the wifi but you can just ask the staff for it.

    Avocado Toast
    Andre S.

Lion & Lamb Coffee Roasters in Costa Mesa just set the bar for avocado toast. This was hands down the best avocado toast I've ever had. The avocado mash was fresh, creamy, and packed with flavor! not bland, not watery, and clearly made with care. The sourdough toast was perfectly done: toasted enough to give a satisfying crunch, but not too hard, and it held up beautifully without getting mushy from the avocado. That balance is hard to get right, and they absolutely nailed it. The red pepper flakes were a great touch too, adding just the right amount of heat without overpowering anything. I stopped in post-gym, and it honestly couldn't have been a better choice nutritionally which is a plus! healthy fats from the avocado, protein from the egg, and quality carbs from the sourdough. It was filling, energizing, and felt clean without being heavy. I also ordered a hot matcha (large) with vanilla, and it was excellent! smooth, comforting, and not overly sweet. You can tell the same attention to detail goes into their drinks as their food. Beyond the food and drinks, Lion & Lamb is an ideal WFH spot. Plenty of outlets, lots of space to spread out, free Wi-Fi, and enough foot traffic to keep the energy up without it being loud or crowded. It feels like one of those places where enough people know about it, but not too many people know about it which to me is the perfect balance. Parking was easy too, which is a huge plus. Even without all of that, the avocado toast alone is worth coming back for. I'll absolutely be a regular here.

Ask the Community - Lion and Lamb Coffee Roasters

Can you reserve tables or a room for a small baby shower?

Sorry we don’t reserve tables or allow any parties in order to be fair to our other guests!

I've been getting the chai here a few times but I'm gluten intolerant and I don't know if it's a coincidence or not but my stomach has been reacting to the chai I think. Do you know if it's made with barley or malt or anything w gluten?

Hi there, no barley or malt or anything similar but please email us and I can give you the full ingredient list. Hello@lionandlambcoffee.com

    Is this business LGBTQ+ friendly?

Hell ya. They have had a handful of queer baristas. They might be next door to a church, but they can hang 😏

The info section states that 100% of the profits from the sales of your coffee go to various charities, is that correct? I thought it might be a typo. If not, that is a wonderful cause and I will most definitely come support.

    Do you have outlets?

    Yes!

Hi is there any wifi available?

    Indeed!

Are you associated with the church next door?

Hello Emma! We are our own business and lease our space from the church. Thanks!

Do you offer whole coffee beans for purchase to brew at home?

    Yes!

Do you offer any sugar free syrups? Keto friendly would be awesome!

We have a sugar free vanilla syrup!

Are you guys a Christian coffee company? Just curious because of your guys' name.

We are not an outright “Christian company”! Lion and lamb is a biblical reference but we chose it because we love the idea of two totally different animals coming together that you wouldn’t normally see, we want Lion and lamb to be a place where all…

Purchased a bag of the espresso beans and was wondering what dose you use for your lattes? Thanks!!

Hi Emmy! For lattes right now we are doing 18.5 grams in, 37g out. 16.5-18 seconds!

    Are dogs allowed inside?

No, but there's some chairs out front

I bought a bag of beans yesterday--no roast date on the bag, employee told me the roast date was on Sunday (2 days ago), but a previous answered response said the beans are not put on the shelves until ~1 week after the roast date. Which is it?Thanks

Hi Kevin they probably thought you meant when was it bagged and shelved. Our coffee doesn’t leave the roastery until after 1 week minimum.

Can you tell me if your chai is gluten free?

    Any Christmas themed drinks?

they have a peppermint mocha on the menu still, even though it’s past Christmas!

Which beans do you use for your lattes? Also, is there a roast date on the packaging? Thanks! Edit-…

Hi Emmy we use our espresso blend! We do not have roast dates on our coffees, but they are all put on the shelf at about 1 week rested, and have found that our coffee peaks at about 4 weeks rested, so for a 10oz bag you have plenty of time to enjoy…

    Is your coffee organic?

    Yes it is!

Do you offer regular ceramic cups for customers to drink out of?

    We do !

Do you have a pumpkin spice latte for fall season?

Hi! We have a pumpkin chai & our “spiced blondie” which is a spiced maple white chocolate latte which we HIGHLY recommend.

Do you have unsweetened almond milk and is your coffee organic?

Our almond milk is “unsweetened” but still contains a little sugar. We use pacifc brand but sometimes califia. All our coffees are organic!

Despite being relatively close to two major colleges - OCC and UCI - this place wasn't as crowded as you'd imagine it would be. They serve coffee, matcha, breakfast foods like breakfast burritos, protein bowls, avocado toasts - but I didn't pick anything to eat since I already had lunch. I shared with the barista that it was my first time here, and he asked what type of drink I was looking for. I told him something iced and caffeinated - and he mentioned his favorite was the Honey Cinnamon Latte - which I opted for - iced, with oat milk. Total was $8.50 including tip. My iced Honey Cinnamon Latte was yummy, creamy, and fantastic! With the oat milk substitute, it sorta tasted like Cinnamon Toast Crunch in liquid coffee form. It wasn't overly sweet, definitely had a nice kick to it - love this recommendation by the barista! I checked out the rest of the space and used their restroom to wash my hands - it's really a neat space here. Lots of seating. Lots of space. Some of the other reviews mentioned no a/c - which had me worried considering we were having a bit of a heatwave lately - but to my pleasant surprise, A/C was on and cold! It was a great escape from the heat. Free wifi - fast enough for a zoom call if you need to hop into one - my speedtest reported download speeds of 17.5MB/s Restroom is clean and well maintained. Plenty of parking - of course, I stopped by a little after 2pm, so already avoiding the tail end of the lunch rush. Only downside is they close kinda early - 4pm - but open up at 7am. Great spot! Will probably be my go-to considering there's ample workspace, plenty of parking, less crowded than other coffee spots in the immediate area. I'm curious to try their matcha the next time I'm here, as well as possibly their breakfast burritos, since photos for that looks delicious.
