We've dined here on multiple occasions when we're craving something authentic and tasty, and Tasty BBQ has always risen to the occasion. My favorite items have been the Braised Tofu, Tofu with Bamboo, Green Onion Oil Noodles, and Cabbage. They also have set combos where you can order four dishes with a soup for $50. We were able to swap out some of the meat forward dishes with something vegetarian. This a no frills mom and pop restaurant, that's clean, and simply decorated. Portion sizes are large, and service is quick, but note that there might be some take out orders ahead of you even if the store isn't packed. There's easy parking in the lot, but it might be rather full depending on when you're planning on stopping by. This place is so unassuming... they are mostly in chinese and the lady speaks canto and mandarin. I got the 3 lunch specials for $24 so my total was about $27 after tax. The portions were slightly smaller than expected.. i wish they would at least fill the togo box but the flavors were good. We ordered: 1. pork with tofu 2. beijing sweet and sour pork 3. beef with onions All amazing flavors but honestly the non lunch specials look even better. So the deal is if you buy 4 items from the regular menu she will throw in a 5th one! I think the next time i go im trying some of the spicy stuff. Inside had a few tables for seating and was authentically clean :3 The server was really nice and helped take my order quickly. First time trying their eggplant and beef (13.50) and black bean fish fillet (13.50). They included a hearty side of rice which I appreciated very much. The eggplant was soft and packed with flavor and soft beef. The fish fillet had lots of onions and carrots with black beans. White rice was steamy hot and packed! A new store has opened and it is Cantonese Hong Kong-style food that has limited seats but amazingly delicious food. You can order takeout or try to find seats. I found seats and their menus are written on the wall and also they have a long list of menu items on a paper sheet. Overall I can not read Chinese but the paper menu has English as well as Chinese on it. We ordered five dishes of beef soup, three meat Bbq items (duck, pork, and chicken), deep-fried small fish, deep-fried shrimp, and a beef noodle. All the food was so tasty! The beef soup is large and able to share with our party of four. Also, the stir-fried noodles had that char taste that you know they put this on high heat! Tasty BBQ is one of the newer Cantonese BBQ restaurants in the Rowland Heights area. They've been here for over year, but, it took me a while to find it. They reside in what used to be Breadfish Cafe. They serve both Cantonese BBQ and cooked dishes. I've vistited many times over the past few months, and they are now one of my favorite places. Service is great. The boss lady recognizes me and both my wife and I agree that she makes this restaurant great. The boss lady is super nice, friendly and an honest person. The sifu (meat man) recognizes me and even greets me with a smile now. Their roast pork is our favorite here with its flavorful meat and crunchy skin. The roast duck is nice, flavorful and meaty. They have a soy sauce chicken and white meat chicken that both also taste good. Their lunch special is a bento box with stir fried vegetables and an egg roll, not the lunch special soup, rice, and dish from that some other restaurants serve. It is a really good place. Came in on a Saturday noon, wasn't super busy. I ordered the bbq combo and my husband ordered the wonton noodle soup. The server said yellow noodle is out and asked if we are okay with white noodle. We said yes. My bbq combo came quick; however the wonton soup took forever. I finished my meal and 30 mins in, still not ready. Asked the server and realized they forgot. Took another 10 or so minutes. When it finally came, it was not advertised at all. It had dumplings and noodles, definitely not wanton noodle soup. We asked the server and were told they sold out the canto style wanton soup.... Located in the space previously occupied by Breadfish. Interestingly enough, they offer both traditional Taiwanese dishes and Cantonese dishes. Their claypot rice with preserved meats is pretty good and their chow fun is authentic, albeit extremely greasy. The best thing is definitely their popcorn chicken combo, as they have a special for $10 that includes a generous amount of popcorn chicken, fries, and a green or black tea. Their tea tastes really weird, but I suspect they use some sort of herbal leaves. Nonetheless, the staff is pretty nice, although it's best if you can speak Chinese, as there's a bit of a language barrier otherwise. They seem to have a good variety of different dishes, so I'd be interested in coming back to try more. You really can't beat their pricing, plus they give a slight discount for paying cash instead of credit card. read more

Popcorn chicken was very pale and bland, both the chicken and milk green tea lacked the authenticity taste of taiwan. Even I know that fried things need to be open or at least have some holes in the packaging or the steam will make everything soft. Overall the food is good. We usually get the cantonese entrees. Not too sure about the authenticity of the Taiwanese snack food. The only problem is the lady gets orders mixed up when they are busy and the estimated wait time they give you gets more than doubled, maybe tripled. I called for my order. She told me 15-20 minutes. I showed up 20 minutes later to pick up the food wasn't ready. Waited for another 30 minutes and the food was still not ready :( read more
