Yummy!! Delicious Taiwanese food with lots of options and lunch specials. Inside had a few tables for seating and was authentically clean :3 The server was really nice and helped take my order quickly. First time trying their eggplant and beef (13.50) and black bean fish fillet (13.50). They included a hearty side of rice which I appreciated very much. The eggplant was soft and packed with flavor and soft beef. The fish fillet had lots of onions and carrots with black beans. White rice was steamy hot and packed! Great prices, delicious food, and excellent service. I def want to try their beef chow fun, salted fish fried rice, and pork knuckle rice next time. Will be back soon! Come support this local restaurant! :)

A new store has opened and it is Cantonese Hong Kong-style food that has limited seats but amazingly delicious food. You can order takeout or try to find seats. I found seats and their menus are written on the wall and also they have a long list of menu items on a paper sheet. Overall I can not read Chinese but the paper menu has English as well as Chinese on it. We ordered five dishes of beef soup, three meat Bbq items (duck, pork, and chicken), deep-fried small fish, deep-fried shrimp, and a beef noodle. All the food was so tasty! The beef soup is large and able to share with our party of four. Also, the stir-fried noodles had that char taste that you know they put this on high heat! Loved it all and would totally say check out this new place in the area. It is a hidden gem with no frills of a place. They got the food down and it is very authentic.

Good authentic Cantonese and Taiwanese food with great deals. Currently I ordered the lunch special which is about $11-13 per dish and order 4 get 1 dish free. Not too salty or oily so we like it. Kids love this pork with beancurd.

We ordered potstickers, chili oil wontons and Shanghai ricecakes. The ricecakes were tasty but the wontons and potstickers were disappointing. I think we just ordered the wrong items. The food arrived very quickly and our waitress was nice. Very mom and pop sort of restaurant. At first eating there was fine, but then a Cook(?) started yelling in the kitchen, so we packed up and left quickly.

The front of the store has a Chinese sign above "Breadfish Cafe," which was a bit misleading & I thought they reopened. ): Tried it out anyways, the server was nice but she didn't know much about the menu as she said she was new. All the food pictures on the walls and signs were in Chinese so you need a physical menu to order if you don't speak Chinese. The waitress told us they were out of multiple items as they opened on a Sunday morning and forgot to mention the tea was out so I ordered another drink, and she never added it on the tab or brought it out- oh well. They also had a QR code on the table but they don't seem to use it yet. The website is: https://tastybbqinc.kwickmenu.com/NDZ6RURuS3lhc1dxMjozODU6NDY6VDI We ordered -stinky tofu: 2.5/5, bland and for $7 did not have much flavor -Braised minced pork rice: 2/5 $11 (I forgot the price but the total was $19

Beijing style pork chops

Excellent food. Cash only. They have a buy 4 get 1 free most of the time except holidays. We always get the bitter melon beef in black bean sauce and hot sour soup. There are only a few tables, however I think this place does mostly take out so there is space.

Chicken and Green Beans

This place is a small shop with limited parking - there's only about 8 tables inside, it's not very busy, and it's very clean inside. They're running a buy 4 get 1 free dish promo right now and it's a great deal! All the dishes we tried were delicious and everything came out really fast and really hot! Super classic Cantonese food with big shareable portions. My favorites were the salt and pepper spareribs and the green beans with chicken. The service was also really great and the waitress was very friendly and helpful.

The food was delicious. Owner was super nice as always. I really like the scallion chicken. Very light and healthy

Great Chinese BBQ promotion just in time for Chinese New Year! The BOGO drinks is a bonus

Mongolian beef

Love it. Cantonese approved. Best Mongolian beef I had ever ate. Soup is also good too. Overall, Cantonese approved.

Popcorn Chicken! Big portion!

Portion and price was good! I got the popcorn chicken as a late night snack. 1 star deducted because of service. The lady was helping me but as soon as another customer came in...she seems to jump onto them immediately and I am just...air (and neglected) lol

Located in the space previously occupied by Breadfish. Interestingly enough, they offer both traditional Taiwanese dishes and Cantonese dishes. Their claypot rice with preserved meats is pretty good and their chow fun is authentic, albeit extremely greasy. The best thing is definitely their popcorn chicken combo, as they have a special for $10 that includes a generous amount of popcorn chicken, fries, and a green or black tea. Their tea tastes really weird, but I suspect they use some sort of herbal leaves. Nonetheless, the staff is pretty nice, although it's best if you can speak Chinese, as there's a bit of a language barrier otherwise. They seem to have a good variety of different dishes, so I'd be interested in coming back to try more. You really can't beat their pricing, plus they give a slight discount for paying cash instead of credit card.

I think they put too much dark soy sauce for coloring. the soup came last in a big clay bowl. tasty but the veggie is a little too soft/overcooked, and not enough bamboo shoots. when we asked for check, the server asked if we'd like to have some chinese dumpling desserts, compliments of the house. of course!!! it was another big bowl of sweet soup with egg flowers and lots of small sesame stuffed tang guan (dumpling). perfect ending!! this place is a staple in the n neighborhood for a long time. the food was always on par and price is reasonable. however, this time I felt the the presentation and flavors were not the same as before. we will still come back when we feel like a quick Shanghainese food.

If you are…read morelooking for authentic, family-style Chinese food that tastes like high-quality home cooking, this is the place to be. The most attractive part of dining here is their incredible "Buy 4 Dishes, Get 1 Free" deal, which they offer all day long. In an area where prices are constantly rising, this deal makes it one of the most affordable and satisfying options for a large group. Because of this value and the quality of the food, the restaurant is always busy, but it's well worth the wait. I like to recommend a few dishes there. Hu Nan Tofu: This is my mother-in-law's absolute favorite. The sauce is the star here--it's savory and perfectly seasoned, making the tofu taste amazing. Crab Meat Fish Maw Soup: I highly recommend starting your meal with this. It's comforting, rich, and high-quality. You must add red vinegar and pepper to make it perfect. Bitter Melon: They cook the bitter melon really well here, balancing the flavors so it's not over-powering. House Special Garlic & Chili Seasoning (Crab/Lobster): For special occasions, their seasoned crab and lobster are fantastic. The garlic and chili kick really elevates the fresh seafood. Whether it's a casual weeknight dinner or a big family celebration, LT Shanghai delivers consistent, comforting flavors. It truly feels like a "home away from home" for Chinese cuisine. Highly recommended!

I visited this restaurant twice before its permanent closure on April 15, 2026. Some dishes were…read moreexcellent, while others were just average. Szechwan DanDan Dry Noodles w/ Peanuts: Excellent. It was a bowl of dry noodles topped with green onions, crushed peanuts, and sesame sauce. It tasted like an upgraded version of sesame noodles with a better texture. Ding's Special Cold Plate: Excellent. This signature appetizer platter was one of the restaurant's best. It included five items: dried tofu, seaweed, pig ear, beef tripe, and spicy beef shank. Fried Pork Chop + Green Mustard Fried Rice + Spiced Eggs: A must-order. The fried rice had great "wok hei" (breath of the wok). The fried pork chop, which had a bit of fat, was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The juiciness and the texture of the melted fat were perfectly handled without being greasy. Shanghai Sesame Fermented Rice Dumpling Soup: A must-order. The portion was huge and enough for four people. It used mini tangyuan (rice balls) with sesame filling, and the combination of osmanthus powder, fermented rice, and egg drop was excellent. Also, it wasn't overly thickened with starch like at other restaurants. Soybean with Bean Curd Leaves: Very good. The moisture was reduced to just the right level, and the flavor was as satisfying as a meat dish. In addition, unlike the cold appetizers served elsewhere, this one was served hot. Braised Pork Belly: Good. It came with two translucent-looking spiced eggs and four pieces of pork belly. The sweet sauce was well-absorbed, and the meat was stewed until it was quite tender with almost no "porky" smell. Overall, it was a good dish, but the version at Blue Magpie in Arcadia is even better. The following dishes were good but not must-tries: Pan-Fried Dumplings, Steamed Dumplings, Stir-fried Rice Cakes, Braised Beef Noodle Soup, Shrimp & Pork Wonton Soup, Fish Fillets in Rice Wine Sauce, and Stir-fried Spinach with Garlic. Steamed Stinky Tofu: Highly not recommended! Is this even Jiangzhe cuisine? It tasted more like Sichuan-style poached stinky tofu. It was way too salty, so much so that I stopped eating after about 60% and didn't even have the desire to take the leftovers home. Shanghai Style Salted Chicken: Highly not recommended! The chicken texture was quite dry, and the worst part was the abundance of small bone fragments. I was afraid to chew too hard for fear of damaging my teeth.

However, if you order To-Go, the process is very EASY and smooth. On a weekday, I ordered the Crab Roe & Pork Xiao Long Bao ($15 - 8 Pieces), Fish & Coriander Dumplings ($14 - 8 Pieces), Shanghai Shrimp and Pork Wonton ($15), and Crab Meat Egg White Soup ($15) on the phone for To-Go. The lady on the phone spoke fluent English, and she spoke with an upbeat and cheerful personality. My food was ready for pickup in 30 minutes. Concerning parking, it's not too bad. Parking is available but competitive. The location has many cars searching for spots since this plaza includes the popular 85 degrees bakery. When I'd arrived that Monday, there was already a HUGE line of people waiting for Dine-In. I just walked in to approach the counter. Staff requested my phone number for pickup, and Staff moved very efficient and business-like. Regarding the food, it was DIVINE. The flavors and textures were impeccable. I happily feasted. The dumplings, wontons, and xia long bao all had the springy, sought-for texture. And each piece was STUFFED with fresh ingredients. SO TASTY! And the Crab Meat soup overflowed with crab and hot liquid which left me satisfied and full. I felt so happy... Overall, Thumbling (West Covina) continues to be a must-try if in the area. The food is very authentic, affordable, and delicious. Personally, I'd only order for To-Go since the crowds are a bit intense, but Thumbling (West Covina) deserves all the love. 5 out of 5. It can get a little noisy, but to me that's a good sign--it means people keep coming back because the food is that good! I've eaten at Din Tai Fung many times, and while the menus have a lot of similar dishes, I honestly think Thumbling tastes even better at a much more affordable price.
