    Stinky tofu

I have to say, the Arcadia location is better. Idk why, just flavor wise. Here was good but I prefer their other location. We got the beef noodle soup which was way spicier here. It's never a miss when you get this. The stinky tofu is a must get. Don't let the smell fool you. My personal fave is the fried pork chop and fried rice. I almost always get this dish at the other location and it's just hits the spot. The rice needed a tad more flavor but was good nonetheless.

I've been going to this place for their spicy pig ears. It's the best I tried so far in this area. I usually order fried rice cake, pork chop rice, or beef roll. The service is not bad for restaurants like this. The owner is very nice and welcoming. The restaurant is spacious and clean for the most part. Parking is a pain during peak hours and the spaces are small. Definitely give this a try!

3 three point something feels a bit too low for Ding's Garden! (Tempted to inflate my rating to boost it lol.) Visited Ding's garden on a weekday evening and it was relatively empty. Nonetheless the food had consistent quality. Would be down to order them again if I didn't feel like exploring the menu. 搅和搅和 I like cold pig ear and beef offals so by default I like this dish. Pan Fried Pork Bao It took them awhile to serve this so I will assume it was somewhat freshly made. Even if it wasn't, it was good enough to fool me into thinking that is was. Dandan Noodles Pretty good, not spicy, would recommend. Green Onion Oil Noodles (葱油拌面) If u never had this type of noodles, get this item. This type of dish exempli simple is best. Stir fry rice cakes I usually don't order this because I didn't grow up cooking my rice cakes savory, but ordering this at restaurants is always a safe bet. Enjoyed how the veggies were charred and had the wok chi.

Ding's Garden never fails to impress! Their beef noodle soup and pork chop fried rice are absolute staples and consistently delicious. The flavors are authentic, and the portions are generous - a satisfying meal every time. One of the highlights is definitely the sour mustard greens, which perfectly complements both of these dishes, adding tanginess to each bite. I recommend stopping by next time you're in Rowland Heights if you like Taiwanese food and haven't been to Ding's.

I enjoy dining here. Their dan dan noodles is the best in the area. Same goes with their cold plate. Service is average. Family ambiance.

Roasted duck was served VERY COLD. Rice was warmed up from perhaps a day before. The Beef tendon noodles soup had 3 small pieces of tendon (NOT WORTH IT) The pork chop was good at its price of $8.99 Customer service is Non existent, as soon as we got in the restaurant we were told where NOT to seat( the very left front corner-because thats where the employees seats-SMH) They seemed to be confused every time I asked for something like an extra small bowl for my wife; they seemed to give me a deer in a headlight look. Ambiance is the only thing thats good but not great since we cant even seat where we wanted. I don't recommend this place, It's a complete disappointment.

Been coming here for a couple of years now with my parents, thought I should finally review this place. Service was solid. The ladies be hustling back and forth between tables, but still got time to see if you have water or not. Parking: This plaza isn't my most favorite in the area but a decent number of options, the layout leaves alot to be desired and there's more compact parking I feel. Food wise we had the following: Dan Dan Dry Noodles: My mom and I would always order this, small spice, when we eat here. I feel it would be a bit better with less peanut butter as substitute for sesame paste. Other than that it's solid with accompanying preserved vegetables on top. Would ask for more if possible. Beef noodle soup: One of the more solid beef noodle places around here I gotta say. Be careful for non spicy folks because their spice level is kind of deceptive. The beef has a good amount of tenderness and with preserved vegetables on top. I feel they've given us more in the past.

A very inviting and friendly atmosphere as we entered the restaurant. This is our first visit to this restaurant. All the staff are very courteous especially the owner, Florence Ding who helped us with our choice of dishes. All the food we ordered were delicious! Will definitely come again to try other Shanghai dishes.

Dry and dry beef roll. Not good : (

Worst beef roll ever from a Chinese restaurant! It's Cold with very bland and DRY tortilla. If they had used a scallion pancake, it would be much much much better!! Not sure if this is because of a "Shanghai new style"? It tastes really bad...beef slices are rather DRY too. 0 Star for Beef Roll. First & last time to order this. Two stars goes to beef noodle soup dine-in special price! It's a good deal & tastes OK! Service is moderate.

Ding's Garden was not as busy as I expected then I found out why. I wonder if they got new chefs because some basic items like scallions pancakes and beef wraps were rather plain. We did try a few new items that were pretty good. The idiots dry noodle (what a name) was surprisingly good. The house 5-items cold plate was very satisfying. Basically I would come back but not my top pick considering options available nearby.

We have been going to Ding's Garden for over 30 years. I love all their food listed on the menu. As soon as I found out that the restaurant provides 私房菜, I reserved a table for 12 with our closest friends for tonight. With the help of the restaurant owner Florence, we came up with 16 dishes. The food was very authentic, not sweet and not spicy, just the way we like it. Every dishes not only look good and also tasted fantastic. They have a large table that fits 12 comfortably. We all enjoyed the food tremendously and I already thinking about the next one with the family.

hubby was in the mood of reasonably priced noodles tonight. most of the places near us are almost $20/bowl of noodles. we thought of this place that we haven't been for a while. came in a little before 6pm on a Monday night. only 1 table of 3 people were ready to leave. the place was empty until another group of 6 came in a few minutes after us. throughout our dinner there's only us 2 tables of guests. we ordered beef/tendon noodle soup, pan fried pork buns (my childhood favorite), 2 appetizers: Shanghai-style gluten puffs and salted chicken. the chicken was very dry, not what we expected. gluten came in a pre-packed box, they didn't even bother to plate it. noodles soup was tasty with tender meats. the bao tasted good but the shapes were not appealing as I'm more used to the dough gathered on the top. we didn't order their famous mixed appetizer as each dish is almost $20 now. Overall the noodles was good but hit and miss on the other dishes we tried. prices are on the acceptable range.

beef noodle soup ($13) -- the best beef noodle!

My family and I have been coming here for years and it is definitely our favorite spot for beef noodle soup!! Like the best beef noodle soup. Perfectly salted, priced well, great depth of flavor, good portion of tender beef, wonderful noodle chew, etc. Don't come here looking for wonderful, amazing, service, it's a mom and pop Asian restaurant, what do you expect. But do expect delicious food! Some of our favorite items are also the ding special cold plate and their pan fried noodle. Over the years, some stuff has changed but their beef noodle has consistently stayed delicious!

Hello Yelpers, beside 小笼包 and 年糕, are there any other dishes at this restaurant that represent Shanghai food in China? Thanks.

Yes. As a Shanghainese, there are definitely dishes that I recognize. A lot of the dishes here are actually Shanghainese; look for the dishes that explicitly have "Shanghai" (or something of that sort) in the name. Some of the English translations… Read more

It offers a generous portion of tender, juicy meat and springy, fresh noodles. "DELICIOUS!!" I arrived at No. 1 Noodle House (Rowland Heights) on Sunday (around 11AM). Parking is easy. The lot is big with many spots. Staff is very friendly and welcoming, but Staff spoke limited English. Fortunately, pointing at the menu was clear enough. The food took eight minutes and nine seconds. Fast time! As mentioned, the Beef Rib Noodle Soup ($16.50 - Mild) is wonderful! It arrived picturesque and delicious!! However, despite ordering "mild," the food has a very strong heat; I sweat nonstop as I ate. The broth is rich, savory, and spicy. The meat is tender, flavorful, and falls off the bone. And the noodles are hefty, soft, and springy. It's a wonderful, euphoric combination of flavors and textures. Concerning ambiance, No. 1 Noodle House (Rowland Heights) is surprisingly spacious with its tall ceiling and relatively clean surroundings. However, its walls and furniture look worn down with time. Some seats even had torn holes. Unfortunately, the music uses radio with constant commercials playing in the background. Fortunately, there's a gender neutral restroom in the back. Overall, I found culinary magic at No. 1 Noodle House (Rowland Heights). The food is fresh, generously portioned, and well-prepared. I left full with a bright smile. If you enjoy spicy beef noodle soup, this is a must-try! 5 out of 5!! "GO!!"
