Lovely little oasis in an area of nothing much. Were staying at the Nobu and wanted a reasonable breakfast. 15 minute walk on a Sunday morning - food was delicious and owner (presuming he was the owner) was charming. I rarely give a restaurant one star. I waited here with 3 young children for an hour to be seated and then after we were finally seated another hour and still no food. People who came after us were served and the owner could not care less. I literally ordered 6 things and received one thing. When I complained they told me they were "trying their best" I paid them for the tuna salad that was mediocre and ran out furious with 3 very hungry children. Their breakfast is just as good as, if not better than, their lunch! I was tempted by everything on the menu, but decided to go with the Healthy combo: scrambled egg whites, fruit and a low fat corn muffin (and coffee - but I hate coffee so the waitress offered me tea or soda instead). It was around $8. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the strawberries, blueberries and banana slices were fresh and tangy - a nice compliment to the sweetness of the corn muffin. It was the perfect-sized breakfast portion. The BF had a breakfast burrito that he thoroughly enjoyed. The service was also good and our food was ready only a few minutes after we ordered it. I can't believe as a local of 7 years coming here that the day My mask broke I was denied service. I asked if they had extra but was very surprised they do not carry any knowing that this could very well happen. I will get the gentleman's name and update this review soon but in the meantime I'm very disappointed I was not offered a mask or even any other option to order food. Love this place! Wonderful and quick breakfast option! My boyfriend and I are staying at the Thompson hotel on Collins Ave in Miami beach, so this is a quick 10 minute walk. On top of the convenience, the menu has a nice variety of breakfast items. We have eaten here for breakfast/brunch the past 2 days, have tried several different items, and have yet to be disappointed. First, I am vegetarian. This precludes a lot of the local restaurants in the area that go heavy on fish and other meats. This cafe provides a ton of vegetarian friendly options. There are also vegan options, and some healthier options too. Of note, my boyfriend is NOT a vegetarian and often orders meat based dishes when we are out. Between the two of us, my boyfriend and I have tried two different omelets, the breakfast potatoes, the cheese blintzes, the banana pancakes, and coffee. My only constructive criticism towards the food is that it could use a tad bit more salt. However, salt is sitting at the table, so I am free to season away! The food is served quickly, hot, and fresh! I'm a total wuss with coffee and actually have to give it about 10 minutes to cool down because it's freshly brewed. The space is definitely compact. If you are a party larger than 4, I can definitely see issues with accommodations. I would recommend calling the place ahead of time to see your options. The cafe has been busy both morning we ate there, but we were seated almost immediately. Both servers were very polite, accommodating, and efficient. I can't imagine who some of those other reviewers dealt with to write anything to the contrary. Highly recommend this spot for breakfast/brunch! Definitely try the cheese blintzes and the banana pancakes, you will NOT be disappointed! I called in to make a delivery order this afternoon at 10/19 I ordered their healthy wrap with regular scrambled eggs instead of egg whites and it came with spinach, mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, and wheat wrap which was beyond phenomenal but the reason for the one start was because of their coffee I ordered. I was so disappointed in the Large iced hazelnut latte with almond milk I ordered because there was a bug found inside. I'm sure the food is fine, and if the place is empty, sure. Go. But from the service side, terrible. Awful. We were there on a busy day. We waited for a table. Fine. That should be expected. We waited to place our order. Again. Fine. That is what we would expect. We would have expected to wait for the meal once the order was placed. But. The meal didn't come at once It came in pieces, main courses spread out over more than half an hour. So, either you eat by yourself, divvy up your meal so your meal is not a spectator experience for everyone else, or you wait for everyone else, and yours is cold. When we tried to raise this with the owner, he insulted my wife and then when I challenged on that, he threatened to come from behind the counter and kick my ass. I really like this place. I've been three times and it's been good. I was helped by the owner(I believe he's the owner) two of the three times. He's super cheerful and helpful. He's very cool. So the menu is pretty varied and you'll notice the requisite sweets/desserts in the glass display. Everything looks fresh and pretty. Let's start off by saying I really don't like breakfast food but I was in the area with some girlfriends that really wanted to try this place out. I picked at Nutella strawberry pancakes and wow. Pancakes were super fluffy and berries super fresh. Like they came from heaven.. Then they also ordered French toast egg sanwhich and I could eat it again. While the food was good, my experience was terrible. The store was crowded and my 3 friends and I waited a while for a seat. That didn't bother us too much until we sat by a small open table (for 2) temporarily, waiting for another to open up so we could sit comfortably. To save time we decided to order. Once another table opened we kindly asked the waiter to put that table next to ours so we'd have room for our group. He informed us that the manager didn't let us do that and since we already sat 4 chairs at one table that was how we had to stay. The manager then went on to seat the next group at that table we asked for with another. A friend from my group went to speak to the manager politely but he gave attitude and still said no... The food starting being served to us and after putting down 2 dishes, there was no more room to put down the food so we had to hold our orders. Soon enough more tables were cleared and a kind man gave us his table as he was leaving - we moved it near us without asking any staff. Moments later the manager walked over and started yelling at me when I never even said a word to him. All we wanted was another table to fit our group of 4. The whole reason i was there was for fruity pebbles cheesecake stuffed French toast (looks and sounds amazing) that i saw on ig. When ordering, I notified the waiter and showed him exactly what i wanted and heard no objection. About 15 minutes later he returned with a completely different dish that he assured me was great. When i pointed out that it wasn't what i asked for, he then notified me that they weren't selling that dish that day... Why would that not have been the first thing he said? Overall the meal was very lackluster and service could use some work. You shouldn't market something that you don't readily sell, or at very least, notify the patron when they're ordering. read more
