I was looking for something new to try nearby and came across Tasty Chicken and Wings. I walked in and the staff were very friendly and assisted me promptly. The atmosphere gives off family oriented, which could be cool for Sundays. The dining area is small to medium so I can see it getting crowded pretty quickly. Since everything is cooked fresh, you can expect about a 10- minute wait. We got a few things from the menu: Chicken, Steak and Shrimp salad, Steak Tacos, and Pupusas. I didn't love the pork and cheese pupusas, but the bean and cheese ones were delicious! They weren't too greasy and not too thin. I haven't had a decent pupusa in years so I'm glad I found this place. The steak tacos on corn tortilla were really good... like barely need any sauce good. Wow! Don't let the name fool you. Yes, they have tasty rotisserie chicken, but the real star is their Salvadoran cuisine. We started with 2 pork and cheese pupusas and they were delicious. Well seasoned and comes with fresh salsa, black bean dip and pickled cabbage. For the entrees, we ordered the fried fish plater and beef soup. Both absolutely fantastic. Fish seasoned well, soup was hearty and a big portion. Both items came with fresh house made tortillas. I absolutely LOVE this place. I've been going here for some time now and it's time I give them their flowers. The customer service is amazing and they're always welcoming every time I come in. The food is delicious, hot, and the portion size is very filling. It has a bar now and they're able to make margaritas (which are very strong) lol. In the picture I ordered the Fish combo with Wings. The fish is very crispy, slightly seasoned and the chicken wings are coated with mango habanero seasoning and not too spicy. I am so happy I found this place, it's a Gem and definitely on my top 5 places to eat here in Dallas. I will come here more often. My favorite part is that the food comes out piping HOT and the flavors are amazing. The service is top notch. The chicken is way better than pollo regio or anything other chicken out there. I've been reading the reviews of this place and wanted to try them for a long time. I finally took the leap and placed a delivery order with Uber Eats. As my normal procedure, I always order 3 or 4 items when I am trying food from a new place. I ordered the birria tacos, beef nachos, wings and catfish. First, let me say, everything I ordered was on point and delicious. The wings were HUGE and were juicy and flavorful. My only slight criticism would be that I would like them fried a bit harder. But that is a very minor thing. The beef nachos were tasty. You get a lot of ground beef covered in cheese. They included a separate container of jalapeños, sour cream and lettuce. I only wish that they included tomatoes. Maybe if I order this again, I will see if they will include tomatoes The birria tacos were the best I've had. Nice and FULL of meat and cheese. They also included slices of cilantro and lime with the tacos. And of course there was a separate container for the dipping liquid. Also, at 2.99 each, and with as full as they were, you definitely could get full off of 2 or 3 of these. And finally, the catfish. The fish came with SEASONED steak fries, which were delicious, cole slaw that was delicious and 2 crispy large fillets that also had been seasoned with the same seasoning that was on the fries. I love, love, love the seasoning they used. It was salty and had a slight sweet taste. It is nice to know that some places do know how to season their food. All in all, this was a great experience. We love pupusas in my family. We go to Dallas to our favorite spot to eat them once a month. However this place is closer and the pupusas got a thumbs up from all of us. They are on the thinner side, which I like, but this also makes it easier for the fillings to seep out. It's good to be thin but you have to make sure you get a good seal or you'll get massive seepage. A little bit of overflow isn't bad because you get crunchy cheese on the sides but the masa shouldn't separate like a quesadilla. The best part of the meal ? The Curtido ! It's the fermented cabbage salad topping that comes with the pupusas. In my family my grandma used to make it and it was really pickled and amazing. Most places offer it but it's not pickled at all. It's almost like a coleslaw. So when I find a place that has real pickled cabbage I'm in heaven ! It tastes just like grandmas. This saved the pupusa experience for me :D I was excited to try the chicken, and I wasn't too fond of it at first. It had a cinnamon taste to it that I didn't like. My kid liked though! The chicken salad is SO fresh. The lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes were nice and crispy. Also: if you don't like dark meat (thighs/legs) mixed in with white meat (chicken breast) beware that the salad comes with a hefty portion of mixed meats. Next time I'll ask if they can portion out the cuts I like. My husband had the flautas plate and he liked it. Except they mix the chicken in there too. The rice was excellent ! The guacamole was fresh too. I would come back in just for the curtido alone ! The ladies who work here are really nice and friendly and work hard in the kitchen. The place is small and causal. The portions were more than adequate. My wife couldn't even finish hers. We were also impressed with the chips and salsa ( which comes with refried black beans ) . The only negative I can come up with is that my food was brought out a good five minutes before my wife's . This would have been great in reverse , as she is a much slower eater than I. You may want to ask them to wait and bring all the food at the same time. But , that is not enough to change our opinion on this place. 100% recommend. read more
