Kind of hidden right by the main street, but parking lot in the back!! Small local business but honestly one of the best places to sit at and enjoy the breeze as its a bit elevated and well shaded. Its a order at counter and sit down, the workers are really nice and was grateful for any customers. Food comes in disposable cutlery, the spice is authentic and prices are great for someone on a budget. I got a medium spicy papaya salad which was sauced well (not dry), seasoned well, and had a kick for it (so mild recommended). I loved the peanuts. One of our favorites was the fried tofu, comes with a sweet chili sauce with peanuts *not spicy. The tofu was fried perfectly with a slight crisp and the tofu inside was still soft. Disclosure: I'm Thai American and grew up eating home cooked meals and in Thai Town and Thailand. My sticky rice had hard and chewy corners like it wasn't freshly made or it was poorly made. Som tum wasn't even spicy--it actually tasted sweet and lacked flavor depth. I initially wanted to give this place a 4 star but increased it to a 5 star rating. I came here because I had a craving for thai green iced tea but was also in the mood for Thai food. They're a relatively new establishment and they had some awesome lunch specials that sealed the deal for me when looking for a place to eat. They have separate deals if you spend above a threshold (I think it was $30 or more). Very friendly service and there wasn't a wait. I got the red curry which came with an egg roll. It was really good. I chose moderate spice thinking it would give a good kick but I ended up grabbing more hot sauce to add in myself. Overall it was really good. I ended up finishing the curry until there was nothing left. The thai green iced tea was okay. It tasted a little more watered down than I was used to but it was still good. They only serve the food in togo containers too. The portion sizes felt smaller than what I had hoped to get which was the reason behind my 4 star choice but then I remembered it was the lunch special AND I finished everything because I liked it so much. If following Apple Maps and not familiar with the area, the front entrance may be hard to locate, but just know it is right off Vista Montana/Anza main road. Upon the first bite of the pad thai, it was decent for sure. I think after a few bites though it seemed one-dimensional and maybe a tad too sweet. This is my second trip back to the restaurant. This is an order at the counter and they will bring you to your food place I ordered an appetizer of fried tofu and a spicy ground chicken with rice dish. I guess I hit the minimum because they threw in a free Thai iced tea. Let's start off with the food. Everything was served in to go containers, even though I was eating in. They brought my food on a cafeteria tray. For the prices they charge I would much rather that they serve things on actual reusable plates. The tofu was fine and the peanut sweet-and-sour dipping sauce was tasty. I ordered the ground chicken spicy, and it came spicy, which I appreciated. It was flavorful. I would have liked some pickled chiles but they didn't offer to bring a condiment tray. It looks like they only had one and it was in a different table with other diners. I did add a fried egg on top of it and the egg was slightly overcooked, which was disappointing. I wanted more of a runny yolk. The Thai iced tea was cloyingly sweet. As far as service goes, the cashier was nice. I was there at least one hour before closing, but she told me that they were gonna close at 8:30 which made me feel slightly unwelcome. They started getting ready for closure by 8 PM. I did ask for water and was never brought any. I didn't realize they had a self serve of water station near the trash. While I did like the food. I thought the service was lacking. I think for the prices that they charge they should be more of a full-service restaurant. It's a small place and I don't think it would be difficult for them to do this. I'd give this place a 3.5 stars if I could because the food was tasty. Bottom line: I'll go back but for take out. No tipping because they don't do anything to earn a tip. read more

Sorry Spice & Spoon, but you not only gave us the wrong order but gave the stingiest portions of food that were nowhere near the $16 price tag on them that were undercooked and underseasoned. I saw prior reviews that talked about this but I gave them a chance anyways. I came here twice previously and it was good and the portions were correct, both times there was a woman who seemed like she might be the owner running the restaurant. This time there were 2 guys. However, now I have experienced what those other people have experienced, so there is obviously no consistency. What you see in the photos are what it looked like when we opened the containers. There were barely even noodles in the pad see ew, and the portions of both were so small that I had to eat something else afterwards. There was no flavor in either dish, like they just threw it in a pan and cooked it without adding seasoning. The stir fry was more rice than stir fry. Super disappointed as this was a to-go order and I didn't have the time or energy to go back there to show them. I was excited to check out this place on grand opening and I was able to help them add the business and pictures to Yelp. Unfortunately, the kitchen was too busy and they had to pause ordering (around 5:45 pm) for 1/2 hour. After waited for 1/2 hour, when ordering was finally resumed, the only thing available was curries. We would rather come back again to get a full experience and when operations are more smooth. I'm giving it a 3-star for now since the lady didn't alert me when they resumed ordering so we were left waiting. Hopefully things improve once they have more experience. read more

Happy to have good Thai food in the neighborhood again. On a whim I ordered chicken pad Thai when I was in a hurry for dinner. I ordered via the website and got there about 5 minutes before my order was supposed to be ready. My order was just being finished up and I was on my way within a couple of minutes. Hello everyone! So I decided to update my review from last night as I take the time to re-consider my experiance in the restaurant. I fixed it now and gave my full review below. I would give Spice & Spoon top place for ambience. The indoor seating is my favorite because of the excellent view of the street. It feels like I am in an airplane even though the height of the building wasn't extremely high. It just felt so cool how the restaurant was built. As for the food, I ordered Satay and Pad Thai with a refreshing Thai tea. I would honestly rate the food a 3. The pad thai was very saucy and sticky, the noodles were flavorful and succulent. But I wasn't a personal fan of the saucy part. Although, is all personal preference. The satay tasted a bit plainer compared to most I have tasted so far. The thai tea is sweet, very fresh and I think it tasted very good. Lastly, I have no complaints on the service since the staff were very kind to us. I rate this as a three because the food was a bit of a disappointment for me, but I also enjoyed the experience of the place. But overall, thank you for the experiance. read more

It's a bit difficult to find the entrance. You have to park in front of the Starbucks and walk up the street. Friendly staff. We were the only ones there when we sat down. Chill music and the elevated view would be great if they cleaned the outside of the windows. The soup broth is very rich and tasty. I liked the fried rice. The sticky rice was surprisingly good. Neither item had much flavor and portion size to menu price did not compare. The chicken satay was passable. The Tom Yum soup had zero flavor, in fact we left the full bowl. All items are served in to-go containers even though you're dining in. You have to continually get up and ask for bowls if you wanna share a large soup, plates if you want to share any item, it's a bit ridiculous. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. I have only eaten here once. I ordered ka pow gai. It was really good and seemed to come right out of the wok. The seating is indoor and outdoor at the same time. The downside is everything is served in disposable plastic to go plates and silverware, even if you dine in. That was a real turn off for me. I can't handle spicy things but the sauce for the dumplings had a little sweetness followed by spice and I still ate it, it had a very unique taste and flavorful. I love Thai food a lot, so when I caught news of a new Thai spot opening up locally, I was really excited to visit! Immediately upon entering, we noticed the place was very clean and the warm colors around the restaurant make it super homey and comforting. We ordered the pad see ew, tom yum soup and kana moo krob. Despite them working to fulfill other orders, they made sure to get my order out in a timely manner and were very kind and welcoming!! The food was noticeably fresh and so delicious!!! The stand out dish for us was the kana moo krob (crispy pork belly)! It was so flavorful and had all of us wanting more. We ordered takeout from here and were pleasantly surprised. The online ordering system was clear and efficient, which made things super easy. We love Thai food and wanted to try a few of our favorites. Usually, we add shrimp or chicken to our Pad Thai, but this time we went with Moo Krob, and it was a total delight. We're already planning to try the Kana Moo Krob next. In our house, we love spicy food, so we tried a few spice levels to compare the heat. "Very spicy" is definitely very spicy, while "spicy" was more tolerable. There's a noticeable jump between those two levels. We didn't try the milder options, but they are available if you're looking for just a little kick. The only suggestion I have is for takeout orders with drinks. It would be helpful to have a way to carry them, since I picked up the order on my own and it was a little tricky managing the food bag and two drinks at the same time.
