Covid review: Amazing customer service! Such a friendly staff! I would add more stars if the system let me! I enjoyed a hometown vibe and it felt like I was a guest in someone's kitchen! I ordered pick-up a few weeks ago for my friend and I. Upon entering, I could see how kind and warm the woman behind the cash register was to each customer. Unfortunately, their printer wasn't working so they didn't see my orders come in. They were so apologetic and even offered me a cookie for the hassle! Oh how I wish I lived in the area and yet, then again, I'm glad I don't because I would weight 400 pounds! I believe the man that greeted my aunt (local) and myself was one of the owners. He was letting us know about their breads and cookies, their wheat, butter and all the amazingness going on in there. It's just the type of place I would have LOVED to have found to train, learn, & work in my teen years and older even! I wish I could put the whole place in my suitcases and carry it with my family as we relocate to Yuma. EVERYTHING we tried was wonderful. My toddler loved the cranberry orange bread like nobody's business and with her going thru a growth spurt, I was grateful to have found something that she liked and that I felt comfortable with giving her that was healthier and well sourced. My husband and I came here passing through Nashville. A very nice young woman named Lauren took our order and was very sweet and interpersonal! She helped us figure out what to order and chatted with us while we waited for our food. I thought this place was really cute and homely. When our food was ready, a young man handed it to us and apologized for the wait, "we make our food with love" The food itself was really good. I had the chicken sandwich with tomatoes and lettuce with tomato bisque soup. Their soup is made from scratch, and it is the best tomato bisque I've ever had! I can't believe I waited so long to try out bread from this bakery. They have a calendar each month that tells you what special breads they'll have on each day. Super helpful if you're a regular! On my visit, I picked up a low-carb whole wheat loaf which lasted me an entire week+ (and out of the fridge/freezer) AND it was incredibly delicious and healthy. The bread itself was very soft and dense. I also noticed I didn't feel bloated after eating a few slices... haha. I also tried their oatmeal cookie - HUGE and amazing. My husband purchased a Groupon for this place about 6 months ago. Due to my husband's deployment, I forgot about it until Groupon emailed me about it. Turns out it expires today. I called them up to see if they would extend the offer (NOPE). I then verified the Groupon policy as follows: What happens if my Groupon expires? All is not lost! Once a Groupon reaches its expiration date, it loses its promotional value, but you can still redeem it at the price you paid for the length of time stated by gift certificate laws in your state. (Which, by the way, is 2 years) The manager insisted this was NOT the case and I would not be allowed to use the Groupon for any amount of money, even the amount that I paid for ($5 for $10 worth of stuff). I just wanted to walk into the place to take a look around, but I took one smell of the place and now I'm having withdrawls. I must have gotten there too late in the day, because I don't remember glanceing a cookie, but all of the loaves of bread looked amazing. They were presliced and packaged in lovely little bundles. This bakery cranks out good wholesome breads and rolls, bread you can buy at Whole Foods and Kroger and other markets in the area. But that's not the reason I pop in there after yoga class. I can't go into Great Harvest and not sample at least 3 different items, including breads, scones and those incredibly delicious oatmeal cookies. I came in on Valentine's Day and sampled the cherry chocolate chip muffin and absolutely could not leave the store without one to share with my sweetheart on a sweet day. Rather than purchasing the muffin alone, I decided to pick up lunch for myself. I purchased their lunch special, which included a turkey sandwich and a choice of two: chips, fruit, cookie, muffin and a soda/coffee. For less than $7, it was a great deal for a sandwich AND that amazing muffin--along with a decent cup of local coffee. I wish they'd have put a little more on the sandwich so I could justify eating all of those delicious carbs by balancing them with more protein and veggies, though still finished my meal feeling very happy (it was definitely the muffin that brought on my happiness) :) I wanted to try the Irish Soda bread around St Patricks Day, but I came too late in the day. Great Harvest is a great little bakery for rolls and bread and such. I am fairly new to the area, and was looking for some fresh rolls for a cookout I was having at my grandparents house. This place happened to be within walking distance, so I checked it out. They have a good selection, and the rolls were delicious and definitely very fresh. Fortunately, they were well priced also, I would say pretty damn cheap for the quality. For the time being, I will be getting all of my fresh baked breads and rolls here. I love the bread from Great Harvest Bakery. I like to go early and get unsliced loaves fresh out of the oven. It reminds me of my childhood in the Caribbean. You have to try their halla and spinach-feta bread. They are delicious. You can tell that the ingredients are quality. This is an adorable little bakery with delicious sandwiches and breads. We stopped for a quick lunch and enjoyed every bite. The reason for the 3 stars is the service and the small sitting area. There is really no where to sit and eat. This is predominantly take out AND our cashier could not seem to get our order correct NOR our change from the bill. It took 15 minutes or more for her to get our order correct and give us the correct change. We were the only people in the place, so no excuse for that. BUT I would eat here again because the sandwich was delicious. read more
