Found Tasty Jerky among many vendors in the Hawaii Okinawa Center's Craft Fair and what a lovely setting it was with Santa and silent auction, as I looked at the many flavors they carry in both large and smaller package along with thick and thin and crispy cuts it was Ponzu and Adobo style that really caught my attention. I absolutely love ponzu...adobo as well but really wanted to just get one and with the description of "lemon savory flavor"...it was so hard to resist. Show special of $12 or three for $30 is a great deal but I just wanted to give them as try first and it had a nice crisp to it but just didn't really get if any of the lemon flavor unfortunately and honestly didn't taste like ponzu at all but was a very yummy bite. Getting the flavor right is a difficult thing but I just really needed it to be there for me but love they had other items as well like "toppers" where it's probably the little bits as suggestion for use as snack or top your hot rice or popcorn is a cool way to not waste and still enjoy the flavors it has to offer. The staff there was nice to inform us of the specials and the various items they sell but there were no samples so I couldn't commit to the $30 option as I do love to support local and flavors that many have offers for us to try. A couple months ago, I saw them selling their jerky chips at a table in Pearlridge. I bought 3 medium size bags of original and they were amazing. I downed one bag in one sitting.... it's just too hard to resist. Today, I went to their store in Mililani and bought four medium size bags of original, 2 medium size bags of Hawaiian Style, and two bags of their toppers. Love the products, not so hype about the location. The hours of operation are during the day time so that's a plus. Although, criminals are very brazen now days... I'm not from Mililani but I always hear bad things about this area. For the ones that will travel for this snack, just be aware that it's not the nicest of neighborhoods. I heard about this spot (quite a while back) from a friend that heard about it through the newspaper. I went to grab a couple bags of jerky chips, garlic and teriyaki flavor. While I was there I also grabbed a bag of garlic pretzels. All were awesome! The flavors and quality were great. The prices were on the high side for such a light snack though. Understandably so, jerky in general is not a cheap snack. And I'm sure the work that goes into making these is no easy task! Worth the splurge, just on occasion. The guy that was there the day I visited wasn't the owner. He was really kind. He offered samples of what was available. We talked story for a bit. He talked about the owner and some of the events they hit up year round. If you're into meats and local type snacks, I highly recommend checking this place out. Be prepared to spend $$. 1/7/19 I just wanted to say that the beef chips were a big hit with everyone!! I'll be back to get more soon!! I bought one bag at the Kaimuki craft fair. At the time there was only a limited selection of flavors so I chose the teriyaki. I have been rationing myself tasting just a little bit of this crispy delightful jerky. I knew I needed to get more it was just how to do that. I read the yelp reviews and was really concerned about driving all the way out to Mililani and no one being here. I contacted Tasty Jerky Hawaii to the Yelp messaging app and was delighted to find them so responsive. Ivan kindly let me know when they would be here and let me go ahead and put in an order. Communication was great! He let me know the best way to get here. I made it! It's located just outside of Mililani town on the way to Wahiawa. You can't miss the bright orange building. When I got here I was greeted by the most delightful guy, Jaden. He patiently allowed me to sample each flavor and gave me feedback on his recommendations. They all taste great! And I love the crispness of the chips Tasty Jerky Hawaii has a nice line. They are still growing and will have some growing pains and I'm confident they'll figure it all out. Think I'm set for now and I do look forward to being able to get Tasty Jerky Hawaii chips in town someday. This place was already pricey with a $30 bag of beef jerky, and now it's $50! They increased the price by $20, citing "inflation," but I've seen grocery prices rise and not by that much. For $50, we could buy a steak. We used to love this place, but if staying open is a challenge, maybe consider selling online and lowering prices. read more

My son and I stumbled across their booth at the Friday night Mililani Farmers Market. They offered us tons of samples (we tried, garlic, adobo, spicy, Korean, and plain.) When my teenagers eyes lit up as the same time as mine when we tried "Spicy", we knew we had to have it!! The beef "chips" were thin and crispy, which was perfect for someone like me. I love beef jerky but usually the good, natural stuff are so tough and chewy that it inflames my jaw (TMJ); so this was a perfect solution where I get my (NATURAL) been jerky fix without the jaw pain! Beef chips beef chips beef chips! You can also find their tent at various fairs, events and festivals but they actually have a store. It's really tiny in a blink and you miss it residential area. Look for the brightly coloured building on Kam Highway when exiting Mililani and heading up to Wahiawa. $10 a bag and lots of different flavours. I don't remember which ones we purchased because they all disappeared within a day or two of purchase and I didn't even get to try them all! Oh well, guess I have to go back. I discovered tasty jerky at a farmers market once (I think it was a farmers market anyway). Since then, my mom and I have always tried to catch this place while it was open but haven't had the luck until today. The man working the register was very nice and helpful. They have International / Cosmopolitan Flavors :Chinese, Filipino, Hawaiian, Korean ,Japanese Flavors: Adobo, Black Pepper, Char Siu, Garlic, Guava, Hawaiian, Korean,Original, Spicy Hot, Teriyaki, My favorite is the Hawaiian Pineapple with Honey.( healthy combination too!) This jerky is by far one of the best and would give it 5-stars on its own. I even stalked their IG to find their location specifically to buy this jerky. However.... The bitter taste that was left was the sour attitude of two young ladies manning their booth. As I walked up, neither said hi or hello.. I stood there thinking which flavor I bought before, one of them grabs a bag and thought she was going to offer a sample but she sticks a piece in her mouth! The other young lady then grabs that same bag and offers me a sample. I asked if there were other flavors of the 1 lb or 6 oz bags because I didn't want the doggy crisps or the teriyaki flavor.. met with a simple "no".. not a big deal. I then picked up four 2.5oz bags and had my card in my hand. The one who offered the sample took the bags, the other one just held her hand out for my card. Taken aback by her clear attitude of not wanting to be there, I opened my shopping bag to the other one to put my jerky in and the other one just kept her hand out for my card. After inserting my card in the reader, she tosses the reader on the table waiting for the transaction to finish. Then she also tosses the iPad after I sign, grabs more jerky from the sample bag and just sits back on her chair eating it. Neither one mentions what my total was, offers a receipt nor said thank you. I'm more than willing to spend the money to support local businesses and would fully back this product. I truly hope this doesn't happen all the time because I refuse to support a business that allows customers to be treated this way and more importantly lacks the appreciation for their customers. read more

I love beef jerky....My husband took me here to get some jerky. The guy was really nice asked if I wanted to sample any flavors and his samples portion were very generous so you were able to real taste each flavor. Bags are only $10.00 each which is a great price for what you get! I ordered Guava, Hawaiian, teriyaki, garlic, adobo, and peppered! All were great but my favorite was the Guava & Hawaiian had a nice sweet, crispy, Caramelized taste to them! Garlic was tasty, crispy and hands down perfect jerky flavor!! read more

Yes, the hours are a bit obscure. But I did manage to catch them while they were open. The guy was super friendly and insisted that I try all the flavors before I decide what to get. Black pepper and original were sold out so I have to try those next for sure. Ended up getting the garlic, teriyaki, garlic, and spicy hot. The spicy hot has a good kick to it, wish I got more. He informed me that the hours are like that because they're still trying to gauge how they should adjust them. It's a small operation, so when they go out to markets and such they have to close up shop. I will definitely be back for more as it's close to my house and I've already run out. read more
