Finally got to try out the lunch special during the holiday week, since i was off work. Had a good workout and was hungry for some chicken and rice, what better than Tasty Nihari. Came here and ordered the Chicken boti/chapli lunch special, which comes with chicken boti, frontier chicken, seekh kabab, rice and salad. It took them about 10 minutes to make it which says they were made to order and the food looked fresh. The Frontier chicken is by far the best I have had, based on all the restanrants I have been to in and arond Schaumburg. After doing some running around town I was hungry but I wanted to stick to something vegetarian. I saw this place offered Bindhi Masala (okra cooked in spices) and it sounded awesome to me. We just ordered toady and they didn't mention that they ran out of chatni so we ordered samaso and chicken boti which require chatni. So we called thee owner and he said we ran out. Bullshit. I have had bad Indian food in a couple of restaurants in the US and this place tops the list. The food is so tasteless and greasy that me and my husband left within 10 mins. If you are a vegetarian then this is not a place for you. We went for the buffet on Sunday and the place was almost empty( should have taken the clue and left right away ) the options are very less (they didn't even serve rice that is the scarcity of food) Coming to the quality of food, I won't even like to get into the details. Food is pretty good, except in some dishes, they totally cheap out on the meat. Their nihari and chicken biryani never have enough. We asked the man behind the counter to put in extra meat and we would pay for it. He refused and said that we would need to buy two if we want extra meat. The nihari at other restaurants has a big chunk of beef in the middle, whereas Tasty Nihari has a couple of small boneless beef pieces and that's it. My kids love nihari but there wasn't even enough meat in there to feed the two of them. If they weren't so close we wouldn't be going there as often as we do. Tip : Skip this place and go to Shahi Nehari in Lombard/Villa Park area or Shahi Biryani in Glendale Heights. read more

This place is close to my house so I have tried many of their menu items. The club sandwich, franky rolls, nihari and chargha are good. The biryani is awful and the naan is often burnt badly. His lunch specials are good but small. The service is just ok. No seats to sit and eat on, this is strictly a to go spot. Their online orders are always in shambles, they either never receive the order or fulfil it too late. Oftentimes, the order will go through and then get rejected sometime later. Overall, I would say there are better spots to eat from. read more

Both management as well as location has changed. They now have moved couple of blocks away from original location. It seems to have downgraded from medium sized restaurant to merely a take out joint. Tasty Nihari used to be our favorite. However, two or three times when we placed a take out order,they gave us burnet tandoori naan. We told them but they still gave us burnt/ black naans. Their goat meat was not tender at all. On top of it, there were three large bones which took the place of meat pieces. We feel very sorry for this restaurant. Got lunch for the first time from here. I bought the daily lunch box for only $6.99 and it is absolutely delicious. In the meal I have chicken boti, chicken Chaplin, frontier chicken, rice and I actually requested no salad although it comes with the meal. The food is so tasty my husband tasted my food and he now wants an order to himself. The gentleman that took my order was very nice and helpful, as a first timer he explained the dishes to me and was extremely patient. Like most of reviews state the dishes hardly have any meat very skimpy. One of the dishes ordered had a tag of some sort with numbers on it inside and a heavy layer of oil on top of the sauce that even when stirred just sat on top. Pretty dissapointed.
