My husband and I came in for a quick bite to eat. We did not take any pictures because unfortunately I left my phone in the car. The food we had was really good I had the Shish Kabob Sandwich, it came with two 10" kabobs that were made out of Halal ground beef, it was nice and spicy and full of flavor. A quarter of my plate was lettuce with raw onion (which I really love to eat on my sandwiches). There were Also two pieces of naan that were both about the same size as the plate. My husband had the Butter Chicken and he says it was good and unlike any other Butter Chicken he has tried in the past (other places make it with more of a tomato flavor). It also came with rice (he could choose rice or naan) The Shish Kabob meal includes rice or naan on the menu... but she told us that there is a separate charge for this. She said prices for Halal meat have gone up. She did not charge us this time but will next time and instead of $8.99 for the Shish Kabob meal, we were charged $9.99 which is not a big deal. They also automatically add a 15% gratuity charge to the bill. I have seen a charge like this at other restaurants for large groups but never just for me and my husband. If they don't include the naan or the rice I don't think it would be very filling, I would rather see them have an updated menu with the correct (increased) pricing which includes naan or rice. If this is not an option, at least tell us when we are ordering. If you plan on dining here I suggest asking for pricing if your paying with cash to make sure you have enough money with you. Ordered the chicken biryani for delivery without reading the reviews. Big mistake. Paid a good chunk of money for this item and it was digusting. I always expect hot spices with any dish ordered from an Indian/similiar restaurant, but this was unnecessarily spicy. The chicken quality was no good and the dish reminded me of leftovers that had been in the fridge for days. (3) The biryani was mostly white rice, not seasoned properly, and even contained a piece of cassia bark the length and width of my half my hand. Decided to give this place a try, after purchasing a Groupon. What a big mistake. This is what happens when I purchase deals online, without checking Yelp first. I had a Groupon for $20, so I ordered combo #4 (chicken, lamb, beef kabobs) and a side of some hummus and falafel. I went to pickup my order and was told they were under new management, so they no longer accepted Groupons. What!?! I just ordered $25 worth of food so I could use the deal... yikes. Annoying, but I was glad I was still able to get a refund on the deal. I probably wouldn't have been as annoyed if the food was good, but I was very disappointed. My coworkers and I frequent this place at least once a month. The food is extremely savory and prices are really reasonable. I've ordered a number of things here, but today I went with the lunch special. Your choice of two different kabobz (Beef, Chicken, Shish),or Chicken Shawarma, with rice or nann. I went with the Chicken Kabob, with rice, It comes with a side of fresh cut cucumber and onions. Let me tell you, for $6.99, you get a whole lot of food, enough for two or three people! I now have left overs for dinner. Service may be extremely slow, but they cook to order. Everything is freshly made. The restaurant ambience may be outdated but I guess you can say the food more than compensates for all of that. All in all, I never say no to coming here. They have pretty good gyros and sandwiches too (Beef gyro or Chicken 65 sandwich). Pro Tip: If you're just as excited as me to check in and find out you get a small free hummus with an entree, beware, it will not be honored! The lady behind the counter said that deal is about 5 years old, from the previous owners. When I advised the lady that they need to remove that from Yelp, she said they dont manage Yelp. They contacted the previous owners plenty of times, and according to them, they "forgot" the password, so no one manages their Yelp page. A tad bit disappointing. For the price, you get a lot of food - especially the biryani. The chicken was tender and flavorful. I wish I tried the mutton biryani but it was an hour wait. The beef kabobs looked delicious but the meat was a bit dry and chewy. For about $20, we got an appetizer and two entrees with plenty of leftovers to take home. The food itself wasn't spectacular but better than the other places I've tried in Schaumburg and cheaper. The interior and service aren't great but it's because diners mostly come for take out. It's spicier and has much more masala than ur traditional biryani made for the masses. It's not Punjabi biryani and it's not the Indian/Muslim style biryani.. It's spicier. Absolutely horrific! I ate here with my fiancé and my parents after purchasing a Groupon. That was a terrible mistake. Where do I start? The rude and unprofessional staff? The god-awful food? The way they found themselves mysteriously unable to process our Groupon at the end of the meal? Oh yeah, that's right. The guy behind the counter told us we could pay after we ate. DON'T DO THIS. The lamb kabob reminded me of a review my wife and I once read about a peruvian place (rosa de lima) downtown that accurately described their chicken as "so good i'd punch my kid in the face for a piece of {it}." Thankfully, that reviewer didn't have any kids... and neither do we. But the lamb here is definitely that good. I love kabobs. And I'm a veteran frequenter of afgan, indian, and various other types of kabobs in chicago and in DC where i grew up. This place has the best lamb kabob I've ever had. It came in 5 or 6 large pieces, two of which still had the bone attached. If that makes you cringe - please, call me over and I'll be happy to take those off of your plate and on to mine. They were the best part!!! Their kabob platters come with either rice or naan. We choose naan (loooooooove good naan), but since the naan was taking a while, they brought out the kabobs with rice, and then brought the naan out a few minutes later. Rice was okay/good. Naan was FANTASTIC! Their platters also came with some nice salsa, a red hot sauce/paste, and an optional green hot sauce (highly recommended - but beware, it is very spicy). Other bits of the experience were: Service = great! People were very friendly. Atmosphere = not so great (only not good thing about it). In trying to think of a way to describe the surrounding - I realized it felt a lot like my home did before my wife moved in. Fairly clean, and it has everything you need - but it's missing all the little details that just make you feel at home and comfortable. I guess it just needs a woman's decorating touch or something. So the dine-in experience isn't great yet - but i fully intend to go back regardless. Many, many times. Last note (i know ramble!) - it just opened a month or so ago - which may be why you haven't heard of it. The prices weren't cheap, but weren't expensive at all either. While working I immediately asked if something in the office was burning. I came to find out that one of the meat dishes they gave us, was completely burnt. Like blackened. There should be an option for a ZERO rating. In other reviews people have said that this place is slow when you order takeout, which is why when they said it'll be 15 minutes I didn't pick it up until 30 minutes later. Let me start by saying this is not some kind of fancy 5 star restaurant. The guy behind the counter isn't a gourmet chef with a tall hat and fancy coat, but they can make some killer kabobs. I had the chicken kabob with two fresh pitas. It cost me around $8, and it was the best damn $8 I have ever spent. The chicken was perfectly cooked, moist, spicy and FULL of flavor. The pita was soft, had an amazing flavor and tasted like heaven. If you like kabobs or naan this is the place to go.
