I used to go to Papa's Pizza on Washington, but they closed down, so I was on the hunt for a new pizza joint, which led me to Tasty Pizza, which was recommended by a friend. It's better than Little Caesars, but not as good as Papa's. I got a pepperoni & a plain cheese. They didn't have that thick doughy crust (which I hate) but it was lacking in sauce (which I hate). They both had a good amount of cheese & pepperoni, but I couldn't get past the lack of a good sauce. It will NOT be our last time! We had one of the BEST Veggie Pizzas we've ever had!!! Okay, so this is a huge problem. I was in San Diego on vacation and they left a coupon under the door of my hotel room, and I ordered because Mexican Food and Pizza sounds like a great idea, right? So, I call and I order a large pizza, bread sticks, carne asada fries. They say it'll take an hour or less. It takes them over 90 minutes, I had to call and check, and they didn't even give me an estimated time when I called the second time. Then, when they finally brought the pizza to my hotel, there were no fries. There was what is not considered a large pizza by me, carne asada, and no fries. I ate at this pizza place last night (Friday). I called them right before they closed and although the guy running th place was closing they still cooked the pizza for us. I found the place on yelp and didn't know anything besides the place had 2 5 star yelp ratings. When we showed up me and my friend were both like "oh f*ck that place? No way they must have family members reviewing the store for them." I am kind of ashamed that my white middle class upbringing illicited that reaction but we were pleasantly surprised. I mean a place called "Tasty Pizza" doing the $5 little Caesar's thing doesnt really inspire confidence. When they gave me the food and I opened the box to check i made the I'll be damned face. Chicken.Mushroom,Tomato,Ham,Italian Sausage. (it's not on the menu, you have to know to ask for it! ). It's loaded with protein and lower in fat than other multi item offerings. ALL taste more than just tasty! There has not been ONE SINGLE person I suggested to, who has tried Tasty and not go there from then on. Just try it! You know it's quality when you can have a cold piece in the morning with a cup of coffee and there's NO frozen fat sitting on it! OK there's only been 2 Xs I actually had left overs. And I had to hide them! I don't know these guys who run the place or anything like that. I would really be surprised if you didn't put them at the top of your list. I see they deliver now. I live just 2 blocks away so I pick mine up as soon as it's ready. I live just as close to Dominoes, Pizza Hut and many mom and pizza parlors. I've picked up pies from all of them as soon as they were ready and they were greasy blobs of ingredients you can tell apart from each other.
