I have been coming here with my girlfriend because she's always wanting hot pot but doesn't want to wait for iGrill, plus this location is closer to us. We love it! She always gets the Miso Ramen hotpot and I've always changed up what I get between the sizzling plates and the hotpot options. Our absolute favorite is the basil popcorn chicken, we always get extra sauce as well because we tend to run out of the sauce before the chicken. But if you do come here please make sure you order it! They carry a lot of the traditional Japanese beers despite being a taiwanese based restaurant but that's not a bad thing, the Kirin in particular is hard to find in Albuquerque so it's my go to. The Formosa flight is also a great option for anyone looking to explore Sake. The service is nice and Lena is usually the server we see the most, she is great and always checking in on us throughout our time dining. We usually go in around 4pm and I believe it is typically the shift changeover period and it will be one or two other tables dining In and we tend to get checked on by multiple servers which is nice as a customer. We never have a bad experience here, and despite wanting to try new restaurants, we both consistently agree that Tasty pots basil popcorn chicken is worth coming here for, from there I always struggle with what to order as i want to try everything once and my girlfriend will always choose the Miso ramen hotpot. It's a great place to come and spend some time in, and there's even Boba and teas you can get to go! Typically the price range for us lands around $80 to $120 without tip depending on us getting the combo deal or not, alcohol, soft drinks, boba tea, and our appetizer. She proved so helpful. I explained it was my first time there, she asked what I wanted to drink then said she'd send it out: it came by robot! I grabbed my drink then I had to read the screen to send it on its way: it was cute. When it came to ordering, newbie here, it looked like I wouldn't hv enough time to savor any of the main entrees what with other orders going on, and me hvg to leave for my next appt in 40 minutes, so I just ordered a shrimp tempura appetizer. A few minutes later, a dish was delivered to a nearby table when the cook, I learned his name is Viktor, asked if he could make it in 2-3 minutes, would I still like the bulgogi over rice or Japanese ramen: I looked to Neddy for her recommendation and went with the latter. Viktor was as good as his word: steaming sizzling plate of yumminess in front of me within 5". I still took 3/4 of the dish with me and it's even better as leftovers! Re: the shrimp tempura appetizer It was ok, perfectly battered and fried but seemed factory-determined cookie-cutter, all the same size, no heads, no tails. But it's a sweet, spacious establishment, cool in the 100° heat without being chilly, friendly attentive thoughtful service and tasty food. Very enjoyable Taiwanese hot pot experience! Located in the same parking lot as Walmart in the Academy area. The restaurant is clean with a cute robot that brings drinks and desserts to the table. Each order is an individual hot pot that you choose from a set menu or build your own. You provide your phone number when checking in to earn rewards. You can place your order by scanning the QR code at your table. Since it was our first time, it was easier to have one if the friendly servers take our order. We took advantage of the duo pot combo with the choice of an app & 2 drinks. Each hot pot came with a choice of (jasmine) rice or vermicelli noodles. You can add additional items, but found that you get a lot of food in the standard pots. The pots are served bubbling and steaming hot. You can turn off the heat by moving the handle to the middle. Fountain, boba, teas, beers and sake are available. The only disappointment for me is that the Vietnamese iced coffee was not a true type, but tasted like a powder drink. I would dine here again as there are a lot of broth options and the spiciness can be adjusted to your liking. Dining in a group is convenient as the check can be paid individually or as a group. Or..you can choose to pick your own a la carte items of what you want for the hot pot as well! I went with the Taiwanese Supreme hot pot..because...hey..it was a Taiwanese hotpot shop. And..I was not disappointed! The spice level option was wonderful (I think I picked the second spiciest option they had) and it was such a good cure for the cold weather outside! Wow! I had never heard of this place until my dad signed up for the $15 gift card. It was only good through the end of January, so I decided to get an order to go (honey sriracha chicken with udon noodles). With the gift card, the total only came out to $2.10 and it will likely be enough for several meals at least. I am visiting from out of town and was craving a hot pot. I saw this place and wanted to try it. The first bite of takoyaki was crispy, but the rest were pretty soft. I would've liked more takoyaki and mayo in my opinion but they were delicious. Cucumber salad was also very good. The hot pot was little bland for me. Granted I ordered the mild spice so maybe that could be the reason. I was expecting a punch of kimchi (salty and savory) and spicy but this wasn't the case. The broth was savory but did not taste like kimchi or spicy at all. It lacked that salty flavor for me. It also had a lot of the core of the cabbage in it. I would've wanted a little more enoki. Tasty Pot is always a hit, especially now that winter is here! We were seated right away and served with water immediately. Our service is a hit or miss; we've been here several times now and it's usually really great or not. This time was great! They just updated their menu to be more organized and I think it works out better. We always get the Taiwanese Supreme and Curry pot and it never disappoints. Note that the Taiwanese Supreme is also slightly larger than their other hotpot. Overall place is spacious and they have those cool automatic servers that deliver drinks to your table. First time here and we ordered the sizzling teriyaki chicken. It came out with literally four pieces of broccoli and, as you can see in my photo, just a spoonful of chicken with a little that fell off. For $18, that's a crazy small portion. We mentioned it to the manager/owner and he was nice about it, even offered to bring an appetizer or anything else we needed. But honestly, we just wanted the meal we ordered and were pretty disappointed with what came out. He said that dish is measured to be 6oz of chicken and 150g of broccoli, but what we got wasn't even close. A spoonful of chicken isn't 6oz, and four tiny broccoli pieces aren't 150g. Our friend ordered the beef and broccoli, and their plate looked totally different with tons of meat and about 10-14 pieces of broccoli. On top of that, they do some kind of anime showings with reservation so our server was clearly trying to kick us out asking if "we were done". Chairs are comfy, that's really the only positive. Heard about the Studio Ghibli promo, so I wanted to check it out on a regular night to assess speed of service, since I read that was an issue during the first movie night. We arrived early on a Friday night, so no wait - but by 6, people were lining up. Despite the timely arrival, wait time was long. He got the ramen, I got the lamb hot pot, and it took more than 45 minutes for them to arrive at our table. Wish we'd had a heads up on the wait time... With broths ready to go and assembly being straightforward, I didn't expect to wait more than 20. Both dishes were served over a flame shielded by a small, square table. The broth was bubbling, so we snuffed the flames pretty immediately. I liked the lamb and veggies. Other ingredients were limited: two small clams, one piece of cuttlefish, one piece of tofu, and two tofu puffs. The two meatballs were larger but not my favorite, and by ordering udon, I expected it would replace the vermicelli rather than be served in addition to it as a side dish. He liked the ramen but didn't think it was spicy, even though he ordered 3 on a scale of 0 through 4. I'm usually a wimp when it comes to spice tolerance, but I sampled his broth, and it was pretty mild. I'll note here that after sampling his broth, I can say with certainty that it was superior to the lamb hot pot broth in every regard. Would return but not for the hot pot. For $23, the broth should've been the star. Robot server was cute but confused. Staff were friendly and worked hard. Lovely decor. Room for improvement but good business model overall. read more

This was my first time visiting Tasty Pot in Albuquerque, and it was an absolute delight. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, with fun décor and even robot servers moving through the dining area delivering drinks and dishes, which was a cool surprise. It is a bit pricey, but I think you are paying for not only the food but the experience. They have hot pot, sizzling plates and boba. We stopped by late afternoon on Saturday. It was our first time here and we're hot pot fans. There was ample parking and nice wide spots. The interior was highly decorated for lunar new year, but over all there is a nice modern feel to the spot. We spent over $100 before tip ordering a few apps, 2 hot pot bowls and 2 drinks, but went wild with extras. But if you just go in for the bowls, I would say it's a good deal as the pre design bowls do give you enough protein and veggies compared to other places for the price. They do offer more broth in your bowl if you're running low while you're eating. Flavor wise, the broths were really good. My girlfriend got mini wonton bowl with extras and I got the Taiwanese supreme. The cucumber salad was really lacking in flavor, probably wouldn't order it again. Service was fun, attentive staff & the robot is so fun. But since we'd already paid I feel like we were forgotten at the close (must have asked for to go container 7 times). 10's across the board. I'm going to be haunted by the Taiwanese Tempura (the spicy option). It's a soft, slightly chewy fishcake with a thin and crispy coating. There's a spice mix in the coating that knocks it outta the ballpark. It's honestly not that spicy, but the coating is so flavorful and works so well with the fishcake. It's actually so good on it's own, you don't need the accompanying sauce. The sauce actually dulls the flavor but IS good in its own way. I recommend dipping one side of the tempura in the sauce so you get a bite of saucy and a bite of just fishcake. The hot pot itself is excellent. I didn't know what to expect since I'm used to the table having a burner when I eat hot pot, but the individual pot came with a little burner enclosed in a wooden stand so you don't burn yourself and the soup remains simmering. The soup is VERY hot, but that's where the side bowl of rice/noodles comes in handy. Place the ingredients you want to eat on top of rice/noodles and let it cool a bit there. The carbs will absorb the soupy flavor. I greatly enjoyed that it had a little bit of everything: beef, seafood, veggies, mushrooms, noodles, tofu, and more, and while I would gladly devour all of that, I did see there were options to omit ingredients in case you don't like something. They also give you a condiment stand with a chili oil, a squeeze bottle of five spice dipping sauce, and cups for sauce dipping. That sauce was good enough that I put it on every bite. The pot is probably big enough for two people. I barely made a dent in it. They have the option to scan a QR code, order online, and pay upfront or you can do regular table service. I recommend at least scanning the QR code since the menu there has more detail. The service was very attentive! They seem to have a lot of loyal regulars since the staff was so familiar with their customers. I even watched one of the staff pull off a perfect shoulder tap prank on a customer. In terms of the shop itself, I liked how they had a dining area and a slightly separated boba lounge. If you only want boba, you can order at the counter and sit in the lounge area. Coming from the Bay Area, it's so nice to see Taiwanese hotpot here! It's not the giant AYCE ones or ones you share with family/friends, but it's a little personal hotpot, which has pros too. They have the same selection as the Bay Area Tasty Pots, but unfortunately similar pricing (I think, haven't visited one in the Bay Area for years). Still the same quality and great ingredients. Service is pretty fast here, which I super appreciate. The pots are already pre-cooked for the most part, so they bring it to you over a small flame to keep it warm/boiling based on what you like. There are different spice levels which I appreciate. There was even a vegetarian pot! My favorite tends to be the lamb or Taiwanese pot. I also love that they have their boba menu here, AND usually play Taiwanese pop. Feels great here. And tables aren't too squished so there's plenty of seats and plenty of space between you and the other tables. Definitely coming back! read more

I really enjoyed the basil chicken for my appetizer. Service has been hit or miss sometimes. I've had servers forget to bring us utensils, drop drink at our tables, and forget a lot of things that we've ordered. I think this is a great environment for a date. Whatever you do, do NOT sit at the table close to the end of the counter. You will become forgotten. Overall I think we were here for 2.5 hours waiting to order, get our food, and then get the check. Thank goodness we didn't have anything to do afterwards. People were getting excited about the cat machine delivering the boba...well...where we were sitting it would've been easier for the worker to give us our drinks by the counter. Instead, he placed them on the cat machine and I watched our drinks take a tour of the restaurant then finally be brought to us lol It was silly, but I get people want the experience. I've now been to tasty pots in 3 different states. The broth is consistent in each place. I ordered the seafood pot and I will go back to my usual order of the beef or curry pot next time. This is all new to me, because I've never eaten at a restaurant where the food was served in a huge pot cooking over a flame. It was definitely an experience. The restaurant is in a mini shopping area, but they do have a huge lot that they share with other businesses. We were greeted by the staff, who then told us we can sit wherever we like. They told us, after looking at the menu, we just place our order through our phones. Service was not that great, because we sat closer to the door and the servers never really came to us and asked us if we were doing okay. They just passed us by multiple times, we had to raise our hand to get their attention. I'm glad that they put on their menu what items contain nuts. Because I know there are families out there that can't eat at certain places because their children or family members have food allergies. We decided to try the curry soup with vermicelli noodles, instead of the ramen noodles. We also ordered curly fries (plain in flavor, with some oyster sauce on top and nori), basil popcorn chicken (not sure if there was supposed to be basil added to it but it just tasted like regular popcorn chicken), takoyaki (this was actually very flavorful).
