Oh Tasty Thai, you've broken my heart. I've been going to the Platte Woods location for years, and like many longtime customers, I adored Dom and his wife. Their retirement is well deserved, but their touch is definitely missed. I believe a family member has taken over the Liberty location, and unfortunately, the taste, portions, and overall quality just aren't the same. I was so disappointed when I got home to eat. The pho lacked flavor, the meat was well-done instead of tender, and there weren't even any jalapeños included. The crab rangoon was even more disappointing. It used to be creamy, flavorful, and generously filled -- something I genuinely loved. This time, it felt like I was eating a fried wonton with the faintest hint of something resembling cheese. Barely any filling at all. It's 100% changed. The staff was very pleasant, which made it harder to write this review. I truly hope they can bring back the quality and consistency that made this place special -- especially in Liberty, where customers know good food and expect it. Order thru door dash and absolutely loved the packaging. Everything was still hot by the time I got it. The fried rice was delicious and a good portion. I ordered the side fried rice with shrimp. Well worth the price. The mango sticky rice was not my favorite, I felt it needed more coconut which is how I have had it in the past. They didn't put any utensils and I'm not sure if I needed to ask for some. The curry was delicious and the right amount of heat. Definitely will order again when I am in town read more

Well, it's been a long time Tasty Thai. It was not what I fondly remembered. The service was quick and friendly. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. The food, um, wasn't as good as I recalled. Perhaps it was the menu items we picked. The shrimp paste dumplings appetizer was tasty. The peanut sauce chicken dish I ordered was over cooked, but not piping hot. The chicken was cut in thin strips and it was tough, jerkyesque . The peanut sauce was warmish, grainy and too thick, like a sauce from a freezer meal, The flavor was good, the texture and temperature were not compatible for human enjoyment. The Pad Thai my son ordered was too sweat. We may try it again, and order something different, but probably not. $50 would have been better spent at Panda Express. read more

I have gone to this restaurant twice, once with my grandma and aunt, and the second being a solo trip. I think what brings me back to this place is the beautiful interior and the affordable dishes. The flavor in the dish I had most recently, pad see eiw, had a rich flavor and delicious veggies that I enjoyed. The server who helped me was also very patient, kind, and had a vibrant personality. I'm visiting family in Kansas City from LA and was recommended Tasty Thai and they were right! It's definitely a yummy spot for authentic Thai food. I ordered the fried rice with chicken and the pad see eiw with veggies both were packed with flavor and came in generous portions, plenty for two people. The Thai tea drinks were delicious and perfectly creamy the ideal complement to the meal. Everything hit the spot! It's too bad that this restaurant isn't any good anymore. The food used to be as good as you could get anywhere, but in the last couple years it has just gone bland. No flavor on anything. We tried it again yesterday, and I ordered Hawaiian fried rice with shrimp. It came out with chicken instead of shrimp and I had to put soy sauce on it to taste anything. My wife's Panang noodles were flavorless as well. They should have a coconut tone, and it was just blah. Won't be back, unfortunately. A disappointing outing to Liberty's only Thai spot. It had been a few years since being there, and I remembered it being quaint and delicious. An odd, flavorless vegetable soup was included with my lunch, and came out at the same time as the meal. If there's one thing Thai food normally isn't, it's bland, but this was straight out of white suburbia. The pad kee mao was confusingly sweet with prepackaged stale pieces of tofu throughout. A small spring roll was also included, which arrived cold. When I asked for the traditional spice rack, I was given a small packet of chili flakes and a pot of chili sauce. Huge red flag if you're on the hunt for authenticity. Perhaps this spot is thriving for the clientele it serves in a small KC town, but it pales in comparison to other offerings around the city. read more

This place is highly rated here on Yelp and I have to agree. I ordered cucumber Salad and mini egg rolls as an appetizer and pad Thai as my entree. The cucumber salad was amazing. It had cucumbers (obviously), onions and vinegar. The vinegar was slightly sweet. The bowl was so large I couldn't eat it all. My only complaint would be not enough onion. The mini egg rolls were good - nice and crisp with a really good thin sweet and sour sauce. The Pad Thai was different from what I've had at other restaurants but it was quite tasty. It was topped with a lot of cilantro rather than peanuts which is unusual. I liked the taste of it but if you're not a fan of cilantro, you may want another dish. Service was fast and friendly. The restaurant was clean as they spray each table with disinfectant after each customer. This will definitely be a go to for me here in Liberty. read more

Delicious food and great service is the norm here! I have tried many dishes, and have never been disappointed. As is usually the case with Thai food be cautious if you don't care for much spice lol. Thai tends to be hotter (spicier) than American, so what they call a "little heat" may be more than you expected. I highly recommend the Pad Ki Mao, and Pad Thai. Two completely different flavors, but both amazing. They have specials daily, so make sure you look as you walk in to see what is the special. read more

The food was amazing. We had Drunken noodles, pork egg rolls, Thom Ka soup, and so on. The service was just the opposite. Everyone was very nice and seemed attentive, but they didn't pay attention. We ordered the soup and rolls first and held off our meal order so we could have them as appetizers. The meal showed up a few minutes BEFORE the appetizers. The soup didn't have a ladle, and by the time they "washed" one the soup was cold. "Location, location, location" is an adage that only rings true for real estate, not restaurants. The proximity of this Thai restaurant to our home cannot make up for the horrible food. Convenience is nothing when you end up with a bin full of worm food. The one saving grace is that we started composting--so at least the Kansas City plants will get a good haul off of this pre-compost. Skip it this place and go somewhere, anywhere else. Very good, in 81 years I have had only one as good/better. Lunch portion came with the best clear broth I have ever tasted! About 1/4th of the cup were the finest/thinnest noodles I have ever seen and the remaining visible ingredient was a nicely chopped green onion. Absolutely perfect soup. Meal was accompanied with an egg roll, small but ok. Nothing different than many other oriental places.
