We got a cute bento box courtesy of Yelp and inside was the sampler. I was able to get a feel of what Thaiger is and their food was very flavorful and delicious. Thaiger has a really great communal setting, it's among a handful of shipping container (food truck esque but less mobile) food stops. The service was friendly and quick. Ok, now hear me out....DON'T eat here if you have never tried Asian food before. IT WILL RUIN YOU FOREVER!!!! I have heard a few things about this place and came by to see what's up. Got the short rib rice bowl and some egg rolls. About $30 after tip. Kinda pricey for my tastes, but once I got home and started eating, I was BLOWN AWAY! The short ribs were delectable and that fire sauce blows me away. I literately could drink a glass of it. Got a small bit of cilantro that was on the side...so I ate it like a salad...with the fire sauce. Oh man, the explosion of tastes just rocked me like a hurricane. The egg rolls are ok, not my favorite, but maybe it was because the main course was so flavorful. I've waited too long to come here!!! I finally got to try the Spicy Lao Pho and it did NOT disappoint! It was so good, really spicy, but really good, It's so good as is, no need to add anything else. My brother and I were exploring a few weekends ago and we found ourselves in North Kansas City in an area called The Iron District. Neither of us had ever heard of it, so we parked and trekked in to find a collection of small businesses in a sort of co-op. I'll review the Iron District another time, but as we walked around we chose to grab lunch from Thaiger KC. The menu was pretty limited, but when you're a small business with limited space it makes sense to curate the options you offer. We ordered the short ribs, the pork belly, and an order of eggrolls. They took my number and texted when the order was ready. The food itself was really good, but the thing I remember most vividly was the Thaiger Sauce. It was a DELICIOUS combination of sweet and heat... Not to thick or too thin... A perfect complement to the meal. The Iron District deserves your attention, even if only once, to see the creative setup of shipping container businesses, but while you're there, make time to grab a bite from Thaiger KC. It was a beautiful afternoon to stop by the Iron District to give this Asian spot a try. I ordered the Sampler Box (steak, short rib and pork belly) with an order of egg rolls. The sauce was delish. I ended up dipping my rice in it. We sat and enjoyed the beautiful weather while my grand baby played with the blocks. I would love to go back and listen to the music. The DJ started playing just before I left and they sound amazing. The Iron District is a hidden gem. If you've never been, you should stop by and give them a try. They have 2 bars. I wanted to try this place so bad , i tried coming last week but I came a week early not knowing that they just opened for the season. I heard good things about it and it looked pretty good on their page. The portion size is a little small for the price. The lady who took my order was nice. Located inside the Iron District, this place is a gem. Small menu, but also, it seems like they have taken the time to perfect each item. Tried their pho, and it was amazing. It is not like your typical pho. This was a dark broth, filled with tons of meat (a lot of it!!!) amazing spices and aromas, and the perfect about of rice noodles. It looks like another home-run for Iron District with their latest tenant - Thaiger KC. I had no idea what "Thayger" meant when I first pronounced it but the light bulb went off as soon as I saw Thai food on the menu and a neon Tiger mascot. Very clever. A grabbed a Pork Drunken Noodz bowl (more clever word play) to take to work. I received a text that the order was ready in about the time that it took me to check in on Yelp and read a review; very quick! The bowl was $11 and worth it. Plenty of juicy, flavorful pieces of pork with jalapenos, cabbage, cilantro and green onions covering a thick layer of noodles. The "Noodz" were covered in a sauce that surely had a soy and teriyaki flavor and really sealed the deal with a stand-out flavor that mixed well with the pork and veggies. My Hmong co-worker gave it a thumbs up for appearance, smell and ingredients, although I didn't give him a taste since he said he would paying them a visit this weekend. Due to covid-19 we haven't been eating out, however, we went out for the first time in a while and decided to give Thaiger a try, it was so worth it!! I had their steak, eggrolls and chicken curry. There's nothing quite like thaiger- both the location (located in the iron district) and the food are top tier. You can't go wrong with a ribeye bowl, but if the short rib bowl (pictured) is available- GET IT. My only complain are the hours! Sometimes their Facebook page will say they're open during a certain time frame but I believe they sell out quickly and end up closing sooner. I ordered egg roll, Pho and pork belly rice for take out. The service was ok, the package was ok but not considerate. The only one I like was the egg roll. The rest are too greasy. I read that they took long time to make their beef broth, but the hot spicy oil and many other spices were masking the taste of the broth. I really couldn't taste the broth to be honest. They gave generous portion of meat, but the meat quality of the pho was so not ok. Too chewing that I had to make lots of effort to cut with my front teeth or finish them. The pork belly rice looked great and I like the sauces they provide, but the protein portion of the meat was probably above 70%, I felt I was eating lots of fried fat cubes. The short ribs were very fatty which I know some people like, but I do not. They were served with plain white rice and some cilantro. They gave some spicy sriracha with it. No other vegetables of any kind, no seasoning anywhere. The only thing I think they "cooked" was the pork belly. The staff is super friendly & really makes you feel like you've known them for so long. The menu is very small, however it's a fair price. I had the steak and rice bowl, it was great although I wish there was more steak sauce for the rice. The ramen is cup ramen with fresh steak and eggs in it. What makes this place awesome is the area it's in. I really wanted to love this place. I went with two longtime friends, both of whom are very health conscious and love vegetables. The photos of the food looked great and we love Asian food, so based on photos, we decided to try it out. I admit that I did not prepare the group for the setting, which is sort of like a food truck area, but we didn't mind that a bit. It was really cute and trendy-looking. However, the menu was very limited, and none of the items had the colorful vegetables that had been pictured on other reviews. I knew that pork belly would be very fatty, but my friend wasn't prepared, so she did not finish her entree. I think that the concept is still great, but you should be aware that the menu probably changes from day to day, and is very limited. If you don't like what's on it, you're going to be out of luck. On the other hand, there are several other establishments that are right there, and you could always make another choice without having to move your car. As part of the Iron District, Thaiger KC brings street style Asian cuisine to the forefront. I ordered the pork drunken noodles and received it in less than 5 minutes. The pork option is pork belly and has a braised soy sauce flavor. I thought the noodles were drenched in oil and took away the flavor from other components in the dish. I noticed that most of their dishes were pretty oily, but that would be the street style aspect. There was cabbage, jalapenos, and cilantro on the side which helped to balance the saltiness and fattiness of the pork belly. I wish there was a spice option, as I would've like a bit of heat to the noodles. Overall, the dish was delicious, unique, and very colorful, and the service was excellent. read more

I started coming here when they first opened up and i recently went this past weekend. The rebeye and rice bowl is $20 dollars for have a steak, rice, and green onions. This used to come with cucumbers, cabbage, and carrots. I think it's over priced for the what they served then to now. The chicken curry rice bowl is $12 and it's great! They have mastered this recipe!!! I think they truly need to revamp the menu pricing to reflect the new lack of variety! read more

Neat place to sit outside and eat. Not very impressed with our meal though. I got the pork belly rice bowl and my husband got the spicy pho and egg rolls. The picture online showed cucumbers and other veggies and even a fried egg on top (for an extra cost). I asked about the fried egg but apparently they either don't do that anymore or weren't doing it that day. My bowl came with green onions and cilantro but no other veg. It was $15... I was disappointed. Flavor was ok but wouldn't order it again. My husband thought the pho was good but also wouldn't pay $15 again for it. I would however order the egg rolls again. Thaiger is absolutely delicious! The super fresh ingredients paired with the bright beautiful presentation, and the FLAVORS that can't be matched. not to mention the staff is very friendly! I was attracted by its ambience and pictures of the food on yelp. These were all true. They are using high quality and very fresh ingredients. Food was great - except the pepper flakes they put between meat and bed of rice. Both the dishes we had (ribeye and curry chicken) were salty, so we really needed rice to balance it out. But, oh boy, it was impossible to avoid the pepper flakes they poured on the rice... and that was very dangerously spicy. My husband pours hot sauce for anything except ice cream, and he was in pain. Both of us are having stomach ache now... even if I got medium. Even if you think you can hold some heat, stay away from medium. Go with no spice option. It was a bit overpriced. Ribeye ball was $17 and curry chicken was $11 read more
