One of the perks of working in Brentwood is access to a seemingly endless supply of options for lunch. This often leads me to the the Clayton business district to try out some new trendy fusion Czech-Brazilian vegan grilled cheese and sherbet establishment or something of that ilk. Then are there days when you just want good ole fashioned comfort food, that's where Tasty Treats shines. I have something approaching a love affair with their fried catfish strips. They're seasoned to perfection and have just the right amount of amount of cripsiness. Located in midtown, it's beyond the outter limits of where delivery services will go when I'm at work. Which brings me to the only reason my review is a 4 instead of 5. I tempted fate and decided to have a catfish strip tryst during my hour long Friday lunch. I ordered ahead of time and was told it would be ready within 10-15mins, coinciding perfectly with the 15 minutes it would take me to get there. Upon arrival I waited close to another 20 minutes before my order was ready. The food was delicious as always, but the extra wait makes makes lunch break pick ups a risky proposition. Assuming time is not an issue, Tasty Treats is some of the best carry out in town. I recommend the catfish strips (one of the loves of my life) and the shrimp especially. read more

First 1: tasty treats is selling Swai fish and calls it catfish, i guess they figure most people can't tell the difference , but I can and they need to inform their patrons to give them a choice to opt out. Strike 2: So I ordered the 12 pc shrimp with fries and what did I do that for, they gave me half fresh and half 3week old shrimp. (At least that's what it taste like)...It was horrible. The batter was so old on the shrimp it tasted like liver...needless to say, there will not be a Strike 3 because I will NOT be ANY food from them again. BUYER BEWARE!!! Giving Tasty treats three since I can't do two and a half stars. Called in on the 24th of July for two orders of duck and noodles, wings and a chicken philly. Wings were good as usual besides having a few micro wings in there and the chicken philly was decent. It's hit and miss sometime with being dry or juicy. Now onto the duck and noodles. HORRIBLE, didn't eat it till the next day, took it to work for lunch. I was hella exited to have it and the noodles were mushy, the duck meat tasted spoil and it smelled bad. I called to let them know and all the guy said is I'll look into it and hung up. Didn't offer a apology, refund or nothing. WARNING check your food folks. This is the second time I have received spoiled meat. The first time I tried a pork chop sandwich it tasted bad and smelled. I ordered my food at 1pm didn't get it until 2:30 ! While waiting there was a old man waiting for a long time as well , he got frustrated and asked for his money back , they literally went to the register got his money went over to him and threw it on the floor!!!! Also I ordered strawberry crunch cheesecake, I was told there was not any left but I watched 2 other people order it ( I believe they were friends with the workers) and they got it. Food is on point every time. Being a vegetarian for 15 years, I missed greasy burgers my mom used to cook us as kids. Their impossible burger is a greasy home style burger. Highly addictive. My brother says I like it because it's cooked in meat grease. I'm a strict vegetarian, no gelatin etc.. but I've compromised my morals for this one. It is the best burger I've ever had! read more

This restaurant was recommended by a co-worker. I've been three times. I purchased a few things during those three visits. Each time I was totally dissatisfied with my food. EVERYTHING that they cook is SPICY!!!!!!! While spicy food is a "thing" for many people, it's NOT MY THING. I always order food that isn't supposed to be spicy, but somehow it always is.... First, let me start by saying that I realize this is a fast food restaurant. When we got there, we saw that there was no seating. That was fine! We figured we'd just take it back to work. The menu looked delicious and the space was clean. However, the service was just really bad. It started with a sign that said "effective xx/xx/xx, Groupon users can no longer order shrimp due to rising costs." Okay, I had planned on ordering shrimp, so I had to quickly change gears. No worries, but it seems like they shouldn't be excluding items from their menu AFTER I've already purchased a Groupon. The cashier who took our order couldn't hear us talking no matter how loud we raised our voices. The service employers are all behind a plexi-glass wall, but there are opening to talk through. It seemed like she wasn't even trying to hear us. No smile, no help figuring out the menu. And every time we ordered something, it was another "no". Out of chicken nuggets, out of corn dogs, and on and on! I know that sometimes something runs out ... but we were there at 1120am ... 20 minutes after they opened and there were no other customers to speak of. We ended up selecting a cheeseburger combo, a double cheeseburger combo, and two cheesecake bites. Our order was prepared quickly and the special order on the double-cheeseburger was done correctly. The male employee who handed us our bags was much more pleasant than the woman who took our money. Once we got back to work, we dug into our meals. The fries were quite tasty, with a delicious crispy coating. The burgers were on soft grilled Texas toast that melted in our mouths. The burgers were also perfectly seasoned and loaded with fresh toppings. The cheesecake bites for dessert were forgettable, like anything you could get at a grocery store, so stick with the entrees and you'll be happy you did! Please understand that the food was delicious. If you don't mind an unpleasant ordering experience, the value is otherwise quite good!!! The woman who came in after us, who seemed to know the employees very well, got an equally weird reception, having to repeat herself many times while trying to talk to the cashier to place her order. Maybe the acoustics in there are just bad. It certainly wasn't noisy in any way! The food is perfect. Seems like the employee up front needs an attitude adjustment, might have just been having a bad day (which is why I still gave 4 stars). Most of us have worked in food service and understand that it's not glorious work. But if you hate your job, or your customers that much, you might wanna move to the back and prepare the food instead. And since we didn't have to stay there to eat the food, the bad service didn't really matter. The food was freshly prepared, good quality, and quite tasty. I'm just disappointed for the owner, who is clearly trying to offer better-than-fast-food quality at fast food prices. If the employees stepped up a little ... this would have easily been a 5 star experience. The value is definitely there! read more

We had 3 orders of BBQ rib tips. 2 side orders of chicken wings & 3 side spaghetti's. The outside of all 3 spaghetti's containers look like when you get threw eating & you touch the container with your dirty fingers with dried up sauce. I eat with my eyes they could of @ least wiped the containers off. The spaghetti was very nasty I ate a little of it & I spit it out. The potato salad was gross & warm. All that money you spend no potatoes in the potato salad it's whip potato. Almost like mashed potatoes. If I was the owner I would go to Sam's & buy a big container of potato salad & add eggs. Last when stand in line to order there's a sign in the window it states " As of February 1st you can no longer order shrimp with the GROUPON due to rising foods costs" since when have rising food been the problem of the customers.
