WOULD recommend (general). Stop by on a hot summer day, they have few locations in the St. Louis area so we decided this one since it was around the way from what we were doing that day. They have drive-in lot right by the service windows with the outdoor patio seating (resembles Sonic Drive-In). They have a menu for viewing outdoor but can also look online since its consistent amongst all locations. When we went, we first ordered the 2x3 tender-wing combo (Level 2 heat) w/ side of Mac & Cheese and Chuck's sauce/Honey Sriracha Aioli; and also ordered the Chicken Sandwich (Level 3 heat) + coleslaw w/ side of French Fries and Chuck's sauce. First piece of advice I would go up with the heat level, we overestimated the level. For someone who wanted heat but not too much heat, level 3 was too mild and could have done level 4/5, same for level 2 could have done level 3. For the chicken sandwich, I wish they could have put full cuts of cabbage rather than minced pieces in the middle; I also think the sandwich could be little more tender but flavor wise, the sandwich is not lacking at all (rating 7.8/10). But they absolutely LOADED me with fries in my box so I appreciate them for that (rating 8.6/10). For the 2x3 combo, it was actually 2x4 (gave extra wing), I personally recommend the Honey Sriracha Aioli with the chicken (rating 7.5/10). If you are a honey mustard lover like me, then Chuck's sauce is perfect, its a mix of honey mustard with dash of BBQ sauce. The side of mac & cheese was above par in my opinion, could use a little more seasoning but I liked it nonetheless (rating 8.1/10). They also had frozen lemonade that can be mixed (strawberry lemonade and lemonade flavor), definitely recommend especially during this summer heat. Overall, I enjoyed my visit here, the service was timely and the lady at the counter was very polite. They give you a little pager to let you know when your order is up. This is a solid option, especially compared to other franchises like Dave's Hot Chicken. They also are on DoorDash if you wanted to have delivered. read more

In town for a volleyball tournament and wanted something other than the usual fast-food spots. We noticed this place near our hotel and decided to give it a try--and we're so glad we did! I ordered the wing and tender combo with coleslaw, mac and cheese, and fried garlic curds. Everything was delicious and paired really well together. I went with a spice level 3, which definitely had a nice kick to it, but when you mix it with the sides it balances out perfectly. The mac and cheese was especially good--creamy and cheesy without being overly seasoned. Combined with the spicy chicken, it made the whole meal even better. It's just so good. The chicken tenders are cut from large chicken breasts so they are juicy, not dry. Even without adding Nashville spice, the flavor is fabulous. Chuck's sauce is a bit like Raisin' Cane's. Get the corn fritters, and don't order an extra thing of fries. A TON come in a meal. read more

As anyone who follows my page knows, I'm a huge fan of Dave's Hot Chicken--I've had it numerous times, and I'm beyond excited that they'll be opening a location right here in St. Louis soon, out in Chesterfield. In the meantime, I decided to give this spot a try after passing it countless times. I placed my order for takeout through the Uber Eats app. They were running a great promotion: buy one, get one free on either the 3-piece or 5-piece tenders. It was too good to pass up, so I ordered through the app and opted to pick it up myself. This location operates out of the old Courtesy Diner building, so the space felt familiar. There's only outdoor seating available, which works fine on a nice day, but I was glad I planned to take my food home. When I arrived, it was clear the place was busy, but the staff handled it well. I was greeted promptly by a friendly employee, and my order was ready as soon as I got there, which I really appreciated. Here's what I ordered: * Three Level 4 tenders - I love spicy food, and these had a nice kick. The heat was definitely there, but it wasn't overpowering to the point where I couldn't enjoy the flavor. * A basket of fries - Honestly, these were the star of the show. The fries had a fantastic double-battered coating that gave them the perfect crunch. They were seasoned well and cooked just right. If it hadn't been so late, I probably would've gone back for a second basket! * A Nashville Hot chicken sandwich - The sandwich was decent, but it didn't stand out as much as the tenders and fries. The flavor was good, but I felt like the tenders had the edge in terms of seasoning and texture. I also picked up three Level 1 tenders for my son (not pictured). He enjoyed them, and they were just the right level of mild for him. Overall, I'd rate my experience a solid 4 out of 5 stars. The tenders and fries were excellent, and the service was friendly and efficient. The sandwich could've been a bit more impressive, but it wouldn't stop me from coming back. This place is a great alternative to Dave's Hot Chicken, and I'll definitely return to try more of the menu. I have been to Chuck's before a really enjoyed it. I ordered DoorDash this time and it was picked up really quickly and I live less than 10 min from the location so it was delivered quickly as well. I was expecting it to be really fresh with the fast timing but was disappointed to have chewy chicken and soggy breading that was falling off. I ended up only eating the fries and being disappointed. I've only had this delivered via DoorDash, but I've had it twice and it's been fantastic each time. The most recent was the best yet. Their fries are so good, and I was upsold to try the melty cheese side with it and highly recommend it. Worth every cent and calorie. I ordered just three chicken tenders, and I have an appetite but I am still ridiculously full from these hours later. They are HUGE compared to other places, and I love how you can customize the spice level. The medium was perfect for me both times, but I could go hotter next time. I also got a honey sriracha aioli with them and that was killer as well -- might have to make something similar at home one day. Over the last 90 years this "food" has evolved into a sideshow circus where idiot clowns keep one-upping each other with more heat. Back to Chucks review. First off, forget about the high price. If you want cheap hot chicken, go to Lee's down the street and bathe it in hot sauce. The food at Chucks is priced reasonably for the food quality / portion size. I got the 5 piece, but the strips are so big that i only ate 3. Thats saying something. Usually i go piggy piggy on everything i order but i couldnt do it. They are massive. The breading was great and the spices are legit. I got the mild option, which still had a tiny kick to it. We'll see how bad it roasts my poop chute on the way out, but im guessing itll be one of my normal Loose and Loud sessions. They offer plain and 5 levels of heat. My nickname is "Next To No Heat" Watts, so i couldnt go with the plain. I bet levels 2 & 3 are edible but anything higher than that is stupid. The star of my order should have been the chicken, but the sides are on another level. The cheese curds were LEGIT. They should call that place Chucks Cheese Curds. Ill go as far to say they are better than any adult magazine other than Penthouse Letters. The mac and cheese was the best ive had other than Salt & Smoke. The mexican corn was great, the cole slaw was just good. As i type this i now realize why i couldnt finish 5 strips. Unfortunately i was sharing these sides with my lady friend. The food here was delicious! The hot chicken sandwich was to die for. I got the medium spice level which was pretty good for me. The spice level isn't on the menu, but there are six levels. It starts with mild then medium then hot and then the top three have warnings. You have to pay extra for the fries, but they give you a ton of them. We had great service and the seating area was surprising! You can't see the seating area when you drive by the place! Also, I got coleslaw with my sandwich and at first glance I wasn't impressed by the coleslaw but it was delicious :) read more

I used to drive for DoorDash and picked up food here several times so I thought I would try it out myself since a lot of people were ordering it. I was very disappointed. The breading was falling off of the chicken and they put pickles in with the chicken so the chicken was tasting like pickles. There was hardly any meat on the bone so basically I paid for bones and breading that has fallen off into the container very disappointed will never go back and you cannot order by placing a call because they don't have a phone number not good business. read more

Chucks is THE go to spot in St Louis for Nashville hot chicken. It honestly offends me other spots in town, offer what they call "Nashville hot" and thats a flavor and specific heat level. Hot Chicken connoisseurs know places doing it the right way are offering you different levels of heat! Now, here is where I take issue with the new location. The levels of heat are horribly inconsistent with the other locations. Having gone here 2x, and ordering a level 4, I was pretty let down to be given something not even as hot as level 3 at their other locations. Im still super happy to have a Chucks MUCH closer to home. The service is fast and friendly, and the tenders are big and juicy. So I finally was able to stop by the old courtesy diner which is now chuck's hot chicken and I'm soo glad I did!! I absolutely love what they did with the place. The outdoor seating is great! It was a pretty warm day, but with all the open space plus the awning covering the tables I stayed nice and cool..... well at least until I ate my hot chicken sandwich!! Ooooeeeeee it was spicy!! When I was younger i loved spicy foods, now that I'm older my body doesn't agree with it much (heartburn city!!) So I decided to go with a level 1 which is mild. Holy cow let me tell you their was nothing mild about that sandwich! After the first few bites I was reaching for the soda trying to get rid of the intense burn!
