TaterQue's $1 Wing Wednesday never misses!! Everything is made fresh, so there's a bit of a wait--but when you get it... maaan, 10/10 every time. Laid-back vibes, '90s R&B always playing in the background, and the staff is consistently friendly. Oh yeah, my fave is the hot honey wings.

Feels like home ! Karaoke, music, and a little sauce on your hands I have been to Tater Que pretty often and it never disappoints. This spot of entertaining and laid back . My food is always fresh and seasoned. I got the mild wings today. They were tasty and I was able to get extra sauce on the side with no problem. I've have had the fish too and it was good. On Tuesday, they have taco Tuesday and the tacos are freshly good. The tacos are unique with Tater Que, they use items for tacos that are already on their menu. I love their own spin on the tacos. It can get a bit crowded but it is always a good time. This is also a good place to watch sports because tvs are from wall to wall. When they have a dj, he is so entertaining and interacts with the crowd . Pleaseee try the frozen drinks. All of them are very good Monday- reverse happy hour ($8 brisket nachos) Tuesday - Taco Tuesday (taco specials) Wednesday - wing Wednesday ($1 wings) Check out Tater Que. They will not disappoint!

I met a friend for lunch who I had not seen for months. She chose TaterQue mainly because it was voted one of Americas Best Restaurants by Travel Lens. Quite honestly, I was a bit hyped about dining at TatetQue. It's a vibe with sultry music playing in the background and a funky, cool interior. I was at TaterQue so I am going to have a spud. The seafood spud shrimp, crab and crawfish sounded good with Alfredo sauce on the side. It was not the typical large spud but a lot of small white new potatoes. It was extremely large, flavorful with lots of meat on the top layer. My honey cornbread was divine and I could have had a solo cornbread meal. I sampled my friend's brisket and fried wings. For a non-red meat lover most days, I was not enamored with the brisket. The honey bbq chicken wings, conversely, were the standout...soft crispy with perfect balance of bbq sauce and seasoning. I liked the honey biscuit but it was a bit dry in the center. Service was 24 carat gold southern hospitality. The cashier made me feel like I was visiting family. I wish all servers were like her with a service level of 5+++. I will come back for the corn bread and wings but look forward to trying the oxtails.

These wings are the bomb! Will definitely come here again for their delicious, lump, juicy, and meaty wings (I have not had in a long time!) The tater kegs are a must order too. Perfectly fried chunky mashed potato loaded with cheese and drizzled with sour cream. The Mac&Cheese monster kid refused the $7 Mac&Cheese that had too much 'black pepper'. Although it was a chill setting, It was 2ish and service was slow. Music was definitely my kind of music. My kid was even saying; "They are playing all your songs, mom!" Price wise, check the receipt! I didn't, and feel I was overcharged ($56) for the wings, tater kegs and Mac&Cheese.

Ok we came back and tried the big potato with all the meats, I went into a food coma and we also tried the fried Mac and cheese eggrolls...so good! We use them at my job for catering sometimes as well and the owners are so nice and go above and beyond with service and the food we never have leftovers. I also like their vegan spud it is surprisingly tasty to me!!

Nice well kept establishment luckily when we went there (around 3pm) there was only 1 person sitting down eating. I ordered the big jack consisting of BBQ ribs, sausage and brisket over potatoes with BBQ sauce y'all I had so much food my eyes was definitely bigger than my stomach. My hubby had the street tacos and fries. The food was good, the staff were friendly.

Second time here and it slapped just as hard this go around. The staff is amazing and helpful guiding you through all of their amazing options. Their purple drink (Jag Juice) is outstanding by the way.. We feel welcomed and appreciated when we come here... Will for sure be back. Don't let the prices deter you. I had a great experience last Sunday here. We came when they were having brunch. There was music playing and the vibes were vibing. You have to order your food at the counter and they will bring it out to you. It took a minute for our food to come out but I think it's because they didn't have much help and it was a good amount of people there. All the food was so delicious. It had me in a food coma afterwards. I will definitely be back for more especially for those honey bbq wings.

I've been here several times and I've always only ordered the boudin egg rolls and the purple alcoholic drink, so rightfully I've never done a review here as I haven't truly eaten any of the entrees. Also, the menu initially didn't really have anything that I really liked. It looks like there might be more items on the menu now because I saw a few things that I wanted to try, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Well.... I tried the food! Boy, oh boy was the Alamo delicious!!! Delicious! All this time I've been sleeping on the food. The baked potato was flavorful and plentiful. I ordered the junior. As a Cali resident visiting Texas, I don't know the area at all but it seems like this place is located in a run-down plaza. The restaurant is located at the end of the lot at the front. Their specialty is the spuds. To me they are semi-mashed baked potatoes. They come in two sizes, Jr and Mega. I ordered the Jr Springdale which has shrimp, crab & crawfish with alfredo sauce. The flavor was underwhelming. The shrimp seems like it was frozen not fresh. The crab was ok but I couldn't tell if I had any bites of crawfish or not. I had to put a lot of hot sauce and black pepper. I think the portion could have been a smidge bigger as I was able to finish it. My bf got the Jr Big Jack. It comes with one beef rib, brisket and sausages. He picked mild over spicy bbq sauce. The brisket was tender but since they were sliced to small, they were clumped together forming a mushy consistency. The bbq sauce was not bad, definitely on the mild side. The sausage was the best thing at the table. It was full of flavor with a little bit of spice. They have Wing Wednesday specials. The lemon pepper with spicy ranch sounds intriguing. They also have cupcakes and cookies by the cash register. We sat outside in their patio as the a/c inside was blasting. It wasn't freezing but sorry, I'm a Californian- it was pretty cold to me! They had a little karaoke thing set up by the door but the poor lady DJ ended up singing by herself :( Overall, I'd still give this place another try the next time I come back to visit. read more

Walked in and it was busy! It was Saturday at about 6:45. There were I think 3 empty tables not large enough for us (only 3) and 1 with 4 seats that was dirty. Paper towels were on the table and I had hand sanitizer on me so I cleaned it, no worries (this may be for others which is why I mention it). I'm also assuming kids were are the table as well because the floor around the table had ALOT of food spillage. Still, no big deal, it happens and like I said, the place was crowded so hard for staff to get to that right away. We ordered the Alamo, the RoggeLane, tator kegs, Mac n chz, boudin egg rolls and chips and queso (the little wanted that). It did take awhile for the food to come out. But again, we ordered a lot and I noticed others who ordered less got their food quickly, they brought ours all at once. The boudin balls were just ok, I didn't care for the sauce on them and the tater kegs were good but not a must get for me. The RoggeLane was mouthwatering!!! Literally drooled while taking a bite. My husband liked his a lot too, I didn't care for the spicy bbq sauce on his. But I already want to go back and 1-get another RoggeLane and 2-try the wings and cornbread and Mac n chz bites!! Rolling through Pflugerville after leaving Cranky Granny's, we stumbled upon a strip mall (POP:Pflugerville office park) that houses a few restaurants and bars. TaterQue was one of them. The restaurant has a small patio on the front. They offer hookah, so I'd advise sitting inside if you're not a fan of that. The restaurant is a whole vibe. We came on Sunday Funday, they had a DJ and a few drink specials. The menu features loaded baked potatoes, fried seafood and wings. They also offer a few slush style drinks and a limited bar. We had the Jr. sized Alamo and Springdale potatoes and the 5 piece lemon pepper wings. We had the mimosa and a slush cocktail. Our total was $61 without tip. The food came out quickly. The Alfredo sauce on the Springdale was lukewarm, the seafood was not fresh. The shrimp were soft and mealy. The entire potato was soft and mushy. I give it a 2.5. The Alamo was dry. The brisket was okay, there was a lot of it, but there wasn't much sauce, sour cream or flavor. The wings were breaded and very fatty. They were seasoned well, but the fat/breading came off and left plain chicken. The mimosa was 90% juice, the purple slush was strong. All in all, I give this place 3 stars, mostly because of the vibe. It seems like a fun place to have a cocktail and mingle, but I'd pass on the food. I have to admit I almost missed this place. It's tucked away in a shopping strip. Parking is tight so you have to get in where you fit in. They do have an outdoor area that is covered with a tent for extra seating. Inside is pretty basic with tables anchors and a bar. You order at the bar and they bring your food. Great customer service and I did not feel rushed. The food is made fresh so it did take a little time but all worth the wait. My only hiccup was the music was very loud (they were jamming) and a family with kids were kind of untamed. Overall the food was fresh, hot and full of flavor. I loved the boudin egg rolls with the sauce and the seafood Mac was my favorite. The wing flavors are not that exciting to me but I tried a flavor I never had and immediately had regrets. I wished it had more honey and taste versus hot. I'll definitely be back, so many more things on the menu I want to try. read more

My partner suggested going here after riding past this place after going to a nearby Daquiri to go "Slushed". I am so glad that we decided to go back!!!! Everything was packed with flavor! No need to add anything! It was great as is!!! The seafood baked potato n boudin egg roll was my two favorite dishes! The potato is the inside of the potato with seafood on top with more potatoes n some type of cream!!! The bomb and not too much. It was soft and just enough for me! If you get that you won't need anything else. But if you get more you can save some for later! They apparently also have an adults brunch that starts at 4 on Sundays! ** This review is for their Karaoke Night only.** I came here for the first time on Thursday, Karaoke Night with the girls. It was my birthday so I was looking for good vibes and a great time-- BOTH were had that night!! The place was jamming with the best DJ (unfortunately I didn't catch his name) I've seen in a long time, and a fun and engaging crowd. I sang at least 3 karaoke songs and the audience vibed with me each time. The DJ kept us dancing, laughing and singing all night. I didn't order food while there, but I did order sangria (individual bottles). They have a limited wine selection, but offered a variety of mixed drinks-- friendly staff members. This is definitely the place to come for a jamming karaoke night out. I'll be back for that and the food! read more

Visited on a Sunday afternoon where you have to be 25 and up to enter after 5 PM. There was a live DJ playing the latest R&B and rap, which we were not expecting, but it was a good time. They have a wide menu ranging from stuffed potatoes, appetizers, wings, and even desserts. My party of two shared the Boudin eggrolls, a small Springdale, small Mac n cheese, along with a Jag Juice (purple daiquiri). The small was enough for two, we ate every last bite. There was no leftovers and Probably could've shared a large depending how you are. Everything was seasoned, moist and cooked to perfection. The daiquiri had a nice kick, and was not too strong or sweet. We did have to wait a little bit to let the food cool off. The Boudin eggrolls were my favorite wish the sauce came on the side in addition to on top. You will wait a little bit for the items but it's so worth it! read more

Stopped in to place a to go order on a Friday night and it was definitely a lively place to be. Staff very friendly, service from order to take out was about 20 mins. There's hip hop/rap music playing and the patrons make it feel almost like a club and not a restaurant. Based off other reviews we ordered the boudin egg rolls, Mac and cheese, and two loaded baked potato options, one was the big Jack and the other the Craigwood. Hands down the Boudin egg rolls were delicious and we should've ordered two orders because I was mad I had to share. Everything was good, it hit the spot of southern comfort food that I was craving. Price for all of that was $50 for two people but also portions were comparable. read more

First time stopping by TaterQue! It's in a great location, enough seating inside and outside. The decor flows nicely with the name of the business. We were immediately greeted by a young woman taking orders behind the counter. She was very friendly and pointed out her favorite items on the menu to try. My spouse and I tried the Alamo and the Springdale and both were outstanding! We shared so we could try two different ones in one day. The portion we received for a small was actually more than what we could eat. Price was reasonable, around $40 for two meals and two drinks. Hands down we recommend this place to try out if you haven't. We will definitely be returning again. read more

Third time going here. Last time I ordered the OXtails they were ok. Paid $30 today for OXtails and fries and they were so nasty!! Tasted like they were soaked in vinegar. Nope, never again. Decided to patronize this black-owned establishment and get some good soul food. Ordered the catfish & shrimp. It came with fries. I added parmesan. The meal was $25+. You have to order at the counter. No waitstaff. Food order was pretty slow coming out. When it made it to the table, not all of it was hot. My fish was fresh, but was overly breaded and tasted ok. Shrimp was luke warm and no taste. Fries were cold and they sprinkled parmesan cheese on them. I also ordered mac n chz. It was cheesy, but overly peppered. The restaurant was really smoky and hard to breathe inside. The employees were nice. My overall opinion not favorable and I would not visit again. My party also order the ribs, a loaded potato (not good), chicken wings (bland), waffle sandwich (just basic). The food looked good, but wasn't tasty. This restaurant is very pricey. My husband saw this place on Yelp and suggested it to me, and after a look at the reviews and the menu, I was all on board! The place is cozy, and the staff were so friendly! I ordered the Alamo spud, Bodouin egg rolls, and honey cornbread, and my husband had the brisket sandwich. The egg rolls were great, but not my favorite. I think it was a bit over fried, but it was still good. My husband loved his sandwich, and for me, the runaway winners were the spud and the cornbread. The spud is HUGE, even at junior size, and it was so good. The potato was fluffy, the beans had a nice sweetness to it, and the brisket was amazing. ON POINT! Without a doubt one of the best barbecue joints in Austin. But don't expect the regular barbecue dishes you find everywhere else! My wife had "The Craigwood". She felt like her potato was a little spicy. Nothing crazy, but definitely some excess spice. My only complaint is they charge for water. $2 for a small 6 oz cup. The place wasn't packed, but there were large parties coming in after us. We stuck with the regular AYCE and were fine with the galbi and other meats. The soondubu (spicy tofu) soup was lacking flavor. It had the spicy flavor. All I tasted was the chili pepper. All the meats were good. The only downside this visit was the service. Our server kept forgetting a few of the items we asked for. It wasn't terrible, but it did slow things down for us. To be fair, he might have been juggling a lot of tables. I would still come again to eat the AYCE BBQ as it's convenient.

The mango lassi deserves its own description, definitely the best mango lassi I've ever had, and in the discussion for one of the best drinks I've tasted. I will be thinking about this drink for so long, it was thick, creamy, flavorful, but not too rich or overpowering. Very extensive menu with plenty of options, service was very good too. It was a tad warm inside, the music was a little bit loud for my taste, and I wish the water was not room temperature on a hot day with hot food, but really such a great experience and an 'Austin' highlight of Indian food.

Made the whole experience feel more personal. I went with tap #13, Juicy Fish--a hazy IPA from WeldWerks Brewing Co. at 8.6% ABV. Wow, what a juicy, flavorful beast! Packed with tropical hops, smooth, and dangerously easy to drink for that ABV. Definitely hit the spot. For food, I had 5 wings tossed in the Blazin Ghost Pepper sauce. It's described as a smoky blend with mild ghost pepper heat, and it delivered exactly that....great smokiness upfront, building warmth without incinerating your mouth (perfect if you like heat but not torture level). Wings were crispy, juicy, and tender too. Rounded it out with the Carnivore pizza, loaded with meats and just the right amount of char on the crust. Hand stretched and fresh, it paired really well with the beer. If you're in the Pflugerville area and love craft beer (especially with knowledgeable staff who actually talk about it), wings, or pizza, this place is a winner. Will definitely be back again and again to catch more of the rotating taps and hear more stories from Eric! Get em while you can. They are Beer today gone tomorrow.

Everyone seems upbeat and eager to help, from sampling the beers to recommendations on the menu. This particular visit I was looking by for something different and ended getting the "wrapper". A comforting wrap with everything that chills you out and makes you not want to leave. I should have had this during a game as we didn't have time to hang a longer period of time. But it was delicious. Took half home due to its size lol. The beer selection is pretty good too, so if you are wanting a light beer (try the victory blonde that's in-house brewed) or try some of the variety of IPAs, it's there. There is outdoor seating with additional TVs as well. Definitely worth a visit if you are in downtown Pflugerville.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Taterque in Pflugerville, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Despite visiting on a busy Thursday, the service and food were top-notch. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a friendly cashier named Liya. She did an excellent job of explaining the menu to me and helping me decide on what to order. Her knowledge of the dishes and her patience in answering my questions were greatly appreciated, especially given how busy it was. I decided to try the fish and fries, and I also sampled a couple of wings. Both dishes were delicious. The fish was perfectly cooked, with a crispy exterior and tender, flavorful meat inside. The fries were golden and crispy, just the way I like them. The wings were also a highlight, with a perfect balance of spice and flavor. Throughout my visit, Liya checked on me frequently to ensure I had everything I needed, despite the restaurant being quite busy. Her attentiveness and genuine care for the customers did not go unnoticed and significantly enhanced my dining experience. Overall, Taterque exceeded my expectations. The combination of excellent food and exceptional service, especially from Liya, makes it a place I will definitely be returning to. I recently visited TaterQue and had a mixed experience. I tried the "Springdale," a Premium Golden Buttered Spud loaded with shrimp, crab, crawfish, and topped with creamy alfredo sauce. While the alfredo was a nice addition, the dish fell short of my expectations. The oversized chunks of potatoes on the bottom didn't live up to the description and overwhelmed the seafood, making the dish feel unbalanced. The overall blend wasn't smooth. I wouldn't order this particular dish again, but I'm open to exploring other options on their menu. The Boudin Egg Rolls, filled with sausage, rice, creole seasoning, and cheese, were also just okay. They were over deep-fried, and the filling lacked a sufficient amount of sausage and rice. On a positive note, the interior was clean, and the music was jamming. The energy of the staff was okay, though I would have appreciated a simple "thanks for coming" or something like that. I will definitely try the happy hour next time. Despite these issues, TaterQue shows promise. I'll give it another try, hoping for a better balance of ingredients in their other offerings. read more

I visited this spot on a Sunday evening around 6 PM, and let me just say--the vibes were definitely vibing! The atmosphere was lively and fun, with a DJ spinning hip-hop and R&B tracks that set the perfect tone for an enjoyable evening. The music was so good that even after I finished my food, I ended up staying an extra hour to soak it all in and enjoy a few drinks. Speaking of drinks, the purple frozen drink I tried was no joke--it was delicious and very strong. It's the kind of drink that hits just right and pairs perfectly with the energetic vibe of the place. Listen... if you're craving fried seafood in the Austin area, run, don't walk to TaterQue! Nestled in Pflugerville, this low-key spot served up a catfish & shrimp combo that hit the spot. Crispy, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The fries? Basic. Let's just say they were there for moral support. Extra points for the friendly staff and thoughtful to-go prep -- they poked holes in the containers so the food stayed crispy. (We love a team that respects texture. No soggy shrimp on their watch.) The dining room is surprisingly spacious, though it was empty when we stopped by. We grabbed our food to-go, but this would be a great place to eat in when it's buzzing.
