The service was incredibly quick, I got my ramen in around 5 minutes, and the fried rice a minute after that The ambiance was pretty cool, they had a time playing on the TV as well as a lot of figures along the kitchen ceiling, the wall was painted with a ramen decor and the restroom had themed decor to enter The chicken ramen broth was incredibly creamy, maybe like there was egg yolk mixed in with it? The chicken pieces were perfectly sized, about 2 inch wide circles and not too thick, and they absorbed the flavor of the broth instead of just being bland chicken. I will say for the price I was scared this was gonna be bigger (I don't eat as much) so it is a pro that I could eat most of it but a con with the amount of food you get, honestly though it is really filling this was the only thing I ate from 8 am to 2 pm The chili oil is very nutty, it's only the oil and it does not come with anything else in it, it's not super spicy but again I have a pretty high tolerance Overall I would honestly not come back here if I was here, since I can only eat chicken and not beef or pork I only really have this and the veggie option (I normally don't like veggie options) and the chicken ramen was a bit too creamy for me, maybe it was the lack of spice but I definitely like a creamy chicken ramen from like Marufuku better

If I could give zero stars I would. I always order the Bold MILD, so I know how it's supposed to taste. This time my experience was awful and I'm extremely disappointed. First bowl was way too spicy while my bf's was normal, and we ordered the exact same thing. Sent it back, insult to injury the second one tasted only like water and nothing else. The photos speak for themselves. Staff insisted this is how it's supposed to taste, which made it even worse. I used to love Tatsu, but it's safe to say I will not be returning.

Fantastic experience at Tatsu Ramen! The service was excellent, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was outstanding. The ramen tasted authentic, rich, and full of flavor. Everything was fresh and well prepared. I'm super happy with my visit and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

The service here was amazing. Very light on a weekday (Tuesday) but the staff are nice and attentive! The food fresh and hot when arrived to our table. It was a GREAT choice for lunch.

I love this ramen. It's a clean modern space with easy check out and helpful staff. I've come a few times and the food is always delicious fresh noodles and authentic flavors, I will come again

Ever since moving to LA, Tatsu has been my most favorite ramen I've ever had anywhere. For context, I spent two weeks in Japan traveling all over and trying tons of different ramen in various regions. One of the first things I did when coming home was pop into Tatsu because it blows anywhere else I've been (yes, even Japan) out of the water. I always get the bold ramen with chicken and no egg, loaded up with garlic and green onions. The broth is super flavorful and the serving is huge. Parking in the area is always a bit frustrating, and getting seated can take quite a while since it's a small restaurant, but pushing through those challenges is always well worth it. While the staff aren't always the most attentive, they're always friendly and helpful. I've also ordered Tatsu through Uber Eats a few times and even that arrives in pretty good shape. If you're looking for a new ramen spot to try, give Tatsu a go!

We love this place!! It's our daughter's 18th birthday and this was her number one request. We came Arizona because it's that GOOD!!!

The Bold Ramen was easily the highlight of my visit. The pork was cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful, and the noodles had a great al dente texture. The broth was the star of the meal though, rich, satisfying, and so good that I ended up cleaning the entire bowl. The restaurant itself has a modern, stylish design that gives it a clean and welcoming atmosphere. The only downside is the parking, which can be pretty challenging, but that's to be expected on Melrose. Nice friendly service too! Overall, a great ramen spot and definitely somewhere I'll be returning to. Highly recommended!

Solid go to ramen for me. Pork is tender, soft boiled egg is perfect. Broth rich and indulgent, even with the vegan (hippie) ramen: UMAMI AHOY. Friendly and helpful staff. Chill pop music playing while you slurp your noodles. Furikake fries are good too, especially if you like shoestrings.

Twas feeling like a cold was coming on so took a new friend of mine to check this place out for the first time and it was a hit! I got the Red Ramen and thoroughly enjoyed it while also enjoying the colorfully painted inside and watching the people out on the patio enjoying the fall temperatures whilst ingesting hot comfort food. Our cusines came out quick and disappeared even quicker so it's a must try if you're around one of their many locations in LA. Get Ra-mened OUT!

Since the pieces were large, it was slightly awkward to eat without any plates, and I was just catching the crumbs with my hand (didn't have the ramens at the time). Also got a yuzu beer to try and it was delicious, nice yuzu flavor with some tanginess. I had the shoyu with duck while my husband had the yama tonkotsu that came with fragrant black garlic oil. The tonkotsu is not one of those rich, milky, creamy ones and I personally like these lighter ones more. I also enjoyed the shoyu which had a pleasant depth of flavor, but it felt like it was relying too heavily on MSG for umami. Noodles came out chewy. Definitely not the best ramens I've had but are some of the better ones in LA. Our server was friendly, as were the rest of the staff. Service was quick. The restaurant decor feels straight out of Japan, an extra bit of fun. There's a $10 paid lot behind this block of buildings that's convenient for anything in this part of Little Tokyo.

However, the pork cutlet isn't wasn't the best cutlet I've had. I would put it in the middle range of tonkatsus out there. While good, it didn't have the crisp flakiness you'd find in a specialty restaurant that specializes in just tonkatsu. However, it is still good. Next up was the omelette with gravy with fried rice that had both shrimp and pork. I feel the egg of the omelette was well made. It had that texture and consistency you would really want from an omelette of that nature. The pork and shrimp fried rice tasted a little light in the seasoning and flavor, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The gravy was also lighter than a heavy gravy as well. When the food came out, I thought the meal would be deeply heavy due to the quantity and the gravy, but it still felt a bit light and manageable, which was kind of outside of my expectations, so that was pretty interesting. I do like the chicken soup this comes with. It has a nice flavorful broth where you could tell it was made well too. The service here is pretty good and attentive. The ambiance is nice but pretty busy. Also, if you come on the weekend, expect to wait a bit because a lot of people do want to eat here and the line can become a bit backed up.
