I have always loved Tatte's baked goods, and the have visited many Tatte in the DMV area, but unfortunately the service in this location was very poor., even rude. I won't go back here.
This is a fancy bakery chain in the DC area (think at least 5 locations?). The selection wasn't too extensive (kinda skimpy, in fact), but some of their pastries looked amazing! However, things took a quick dive in more ways than one. For starters, they were out of plates, so we got everything handed in To-Go boxes (though we were eating in). Then the tables were a mess! I guess you basically have to bus your own tables here? Also, the seating area just wasn't very comfy...with so many tables squeezed in together. Not sure why the layout is so awkward here! Still, the pastries that we tried were really, really good! The drinks were just OK. So...definitely a mixed bag of impressions. Based on the pastries, I would rate them 5 stars...but the rest of it was just really bad. Running out of dishes and cups (??), dirty tables, bad layout, weak service (not friendly at all!), etc.etc. I guess the management was a bit slack here?? In any case, I probably will stop in again to try their pastries again. Just hope things are better next time around.
Met a friend for coffee midday on a Friday. Sat at the bar and had to ask when I realized no one was going to wait on me... went back up front and ordered coffee and a passion fruit pastry to eat there. Got a number and sat down. When my friend arrived, changed seats. Coffee came relatively fast but had to ask for the pastry. It came in a box- had to ask for a plate and utensil. Coffee delicious. Pastry very good. Service needs work. The place was pretty full. Toere is outdoor and indoor seating. I'd come back.
Came to Washington DC for a whirlwind weekend visit. Had a little bit of time to kill before my flight home, so we wandered around this cute little area for a bit and then came here to Tatte for a light breakfast. Ambiance was really striking. You walk in and boom, you're smacked with the wonderful smell of baked bread and pastries. You're forced to walk by dozens and dozens of delicious options as you wait in line to order. I got some coffee drink. I don't remember which, but it was iced, and it was pretty good. I ordered a couple of pastries, namely Chocolate Croissant (Four Valrhona dark chocolate batons rolled into Tatte flaky croissant dough) and a Dark Chocolate Muffin (Rich chocolate muffin made with 62% Dark Valrhona chocolate and roasted beets). The croissant was excellent. Very, Very flakey. You will not be able to avoid getting flakes everywhere. But the buttery pastry is actually very flavorful and isn't just the boring part of the pastry, like other American versions of a pain au chocolat. The chocolate here is the 50/50 star of the show. Very well done. The real treat here was the muffin, though. Dark on dark on dark chocolate. The only real source of sweetness was the beets. Very subdued, but sweet enough to be a sweet. Just so elegant. I was a big fan. Overall, I'm very happy with Tatte, and I hope they bring one to Orlando. We sure could use a place like this.
I had almost dismissed Tatte entirely after an underwhelming experience at the Georgetown location, but it was raining and the group decided to go here. I'm glad I gave the chain another chance because the Clarendon location did much better. We got the Halloumi Salad and Corn and Spinach Shakshuka. I enjoyed both dishes. They had good flavor and used fresh ingredients. I just wish the portion sizes were bigger for the price. The dinner roll that came with the salad and the brioche that came with the the shakshuka were delicious. I also tried a little of my friend's labneh and lamb shakshuka and I highly recommend it. The flavors and spices were spot on and much better than other shakshuka I had in the area which just tasted like canned tomatoes with an egg in it. Their Havla latte also tasted nice. Strong cardamom and spice flavor. The space was nice and modern with bright white walls and high ceilings. Be warned it got loud and echoey inside. I do think their to go system could use improvement. The space is too big. We sat down to wait and could not hear them calling our names. Had to continuously check back. Wish they gave buzzers instead of forcing customers to wait at the counter.
Tatte never fails to disappoint! The customer service is always so friendly and welcoming, and the ambience is absolutely beautiful. It's such a cozy, aesthetically pleasing spot to relax, grab coffee, or enjoy a meal. Everything always feels fresh and thoughtfully made. I genuinely love coming here every time!
I have heard so many good things about Tatte Bakery. I came in on a Sunday afternoon around 4 pm with my friend and it was incredibly busy. Almost every single table was full, so we sat around one of the small bars where they were making drinks. The staff were very busy, but I was slightly expecting to have some form of a greeting but we did not. To order, you have to go up to the counter and I will say there was a long line and only one person taking orders so it did take a good fifteen minutes to order, which felt very long as I was in the third person in line when I went up. They have a good amount on the menu that all sound very delicious. I like how the prices and portions range. I got the smoked salmon and avocado and it was a good size. I liked the green herb dressing, but i almost feel it would be better on toast or just not on that particular bread/with a bun, as it was kind of difficult to eat. The sandwich was falling apart and the egg was a little bland and cold. For a drink, I got the iced mocha, and to be incredibly frank, I could not take more than a few sips. It tasted as if I was drinking straight mocha power, kind of reminded me of making hot chocolate and drinking the powder if you did not mix it enough. I tried mixing it, and even adding half and half and honestly nothing was making it taste better unfortunately. I thought about trying something else instead, but due to the line, I did not have the time. I want to come back, and try a different coffee. This would be a great place to do work. The inside is very pretty, and the pastries look fabulous.
Aside from some sticky surfaces, the pastries and coffee/tea is pretty reasonable. Really loved the seating arrangement and light able to come through the place! Makes it a great spot to grab a quick drink/bite or get work done. The chocolate mousse is very dense and not overly sweet, making it the perfect companion to any savory item or a drink. Appreciated the free cold water!
Love working from here, though it is usually quite busy so if you're looking for a quiet work spot this probably isn't it. All the drinks have been really good! I've tried the house latte, ginger date latte, sesame latte and matcha latte. They are all on the sweeter side though The oatmeal was really good and the pastries and desserts always look tempting (the ones I've tried have hit the spot)
This location is beautiful but as a self proclaimed coffee snob the coffee leaves much to be desired the seasonal drinks aren't good and there's nothing special about the coffee. I wanted good coffee and this place didn't deliver. I would come back for brunch or pastries but as far as coffee no! There's nothing more frustrating then when a coffee shop can't deliver blah not memorable don't recommend
Tatte is a bright and open space to have a coffee and a snack. The location was bigger then I expected with a range of tables, including outside covered seating. There would be even more tables available but the time I visited, many customers had seemingly not bussed their tables and no one else had cleared them so there were multiple tables covered in dirty dishes. Once I found a spot, I enjoyed a tasty almond croissant with a great crunchy to coating of sugared sliced almonds. The iced mocha was a little disappointing. It was more bitter than usual and I didn't really taste any chocolate. I probably would not order that again.
Such an amazing bakery!! I love the ambiance here, it's super open and airy, lots of seating, and it's very bright. I got a ham and cheese croissant which was so delicious! I'm a really big fan of dijon mustard with the ham combo. I also got a pistachio croissant and the pistachio filling was also really good, but wish there was more cream. It wasn't too sweet either and it had a good balance with the croissant. The croissants are also so flaky! Lastly, I got an iced pistachio latte and it was so yum!! It had real fine bits of pistachio at the bottom which I enjoyed, but it might not be for everyone cause I could see how it can be chunky.

I came here twice when I visited the area. I got a matcha latte and a matcha lemonade and both were delicious! The croissant I had was also really good. A little priciey but pretty standard for a coffee shop in the area. Loved the interior, it was super cute and had lots of seating inside and out. Service was good too. A great spot to walk to and get some food and drinks! read more

Tasty in every single way. Perfect place to study in if you like a bustling environment. Maybe a good place for a first date? Def has the vibe of romance for a coffee date. Or even a place to try some really unique dishes. They offer a wide variety of dishes and have a bakery section. I typically get a brunch option, a gluten free pastry, and an americano. The prices are a little higher than I would like, but you are getting quality items, and a great environment. The wait can be a bit much since this place is popular, but we found that the long lines move fast since they have several cashiers. The staff is really friendly and helpful when picking out our items. They are able to make certain items gluten free which is a plus. Overall i recommend it, go to any one since they all seem great! read more

One of my favorite Tatte locations, mainly because of its location. If you're here (especially on a weekday) you'll find plenty of seating, which can be hard to come by at some of the smaller Tattes in DC. The pastries are really fun - I enjoyed their heart-shaped cookies for Valentine's Day. I enjoy their chai lattes, which are a bit too sweet for my taste but I end to like a chai that leans more spicy than sweet. The matcha lattes are a go-to of mine, as I tend to make my way there during the afternoon and their espresso is Serious with a capital S. They've got plenty of outlets at their counter seating, if you're working. Another thing I enjoy about their menu is that you can get a good pastry here and you can also get a full meal, if you're feeling it. Big props to Devonte and Nanoko for always being so friendly! read more

Stay away - rude and unprofessional management. This place used to be great, but the management is now incredibly rude and unprofessional. I was yelled at and dismissed just for sharing polite feedback. The so-called manager wouldn't even share their name and had no interest in customer service, making me feel completely unwelcome. Simply amazing. Easily a favorite! Tatte is one of those bakeries that truly gives you all the feels. You're for sure in for a good treat and drink every time! The apple pie is full-bodied. Heavy, thick pie crust and fresh apples! Not too much filling, it truly feels and tastes home-made. read more

I'm a fan of Tatte and am happy to see they've expanded beyond DC into Virginia. This location is really prime and actually has a lot of seating, both indoors and outdoors. We typically come here after visiting Barry's which is nearby. Some of my favorite items here are the kobocha latte (a seasonal drink -- think pumpkin spice but not as sweet) and we absolutely love their breakfast offerings. I think this is where they really excel. Their baked goods and desserts are great as well but nothing beats their breakfast sandwiches and their egg dishes! The one thing about this location is that the service is not really that friendly and the people working there seem annoyed over any questions about the menu, but I still come back because their coffee and drinks are great. read more
I'm going to be honest, my experience at this cafe will likely be my last. I purchase a $6 honey halva ice latte. The size for the price were not equitable. The taste was poor. I actually threw the coffee away after 3 drinks. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and its is always busy so I figured I'd give it a try. Unfortunately it was lack luster. read more

Delicious spot for all day breakfast/brunch, pastries, and coffee drinks! I put a gift card to good use during my Thursday afternoon visit after picking family up from the airport. This Tatte location had much better service than the one I went to in Downtown DC. I ordered a macchiato and the mushroom flatbread, both were really good. I also ordered a piece of cinnamon walnut cake, and this was really dry. It was good to dunk with coffee but I was a bit disappointed with how it tasted if not for that. Service was good and the servers do a great job trying to track you down to ensure you get the beverage orders as well as the food orders. Super bustling spot especially on the weekend. Food was so good I forgot to take a photo until we were almost done. Croissant was flavorful and flaky. Ingredients tasted fresh and nothing felt greasy. The tartine was similar, incredibly fresh and flavorful. You feel like high society eating something like that. The bread was perfectly toasted and made in house I believe. I like that they didn't add much sugar to the chocolate snail and let the quality of the croissant speak for itself. read more
My friend suggested this place as she had been to another location in DC and loved it! She and I came for brunch on a Friday morning and the place was packed; we had trouble finding seats and had to wait around a bit after ordering to wait for seats to open up. Overall very bright interiors with a lot of plants, sunlight, and white marble tables. The brunch food was pretty fresh and as you would expect of the item. I got a smoked salmon and avocado toast, and my friend ordered the lamb hash. These were good, but the real stars of the show were the baked goods. We also got a caramelized onion focaccia to share - spectacular, and one of the more reasonably priced items. I also got a cheesecake with raspberries and strawberries atop - this was amazing... Creamy, light, fresh. If I come back, I'll definitely stick with getting the baked items! read more

First thing you notice about Tatte is the bright and sophisticated decor. It looks great, it's spacious, and it has a cool vibe to it- great place to meet up with friends or bring a date for coffee and some good pastries/sandwiches. I ended up getting the Breakfast Sandwich (with sunny-side-up eggs) and an Iced Mocha. As expected with sunny-side-up eggs, the breakfast sandwich was messy, but the bread was quality and the cheese was especially tasty. I actually intended to and thought I ordered the Halloumi Sunny-Side Breakfast Sandwich, but all I said was "sunny-side breakfast sandwich" when I ordered, so maybe that wasn't too clear (something to watch out for with those similarly-named items!). In the end I didn't mind because I was pretty hungry- I'll definitely be getting the Halloumi breakfast sandwich next time. The Iced Mocha was good- I liked it because it wasn't too sweet. Warning- it gets VERY crowded on weekends! We came on a Sunday a bit after noon and it was difficult to find seats, so be prepared if you come during crowded hours. read more
NEW FAVORITE CAFE! Despite living close by for the past 3 years, I only heard of Tatte when a friend of a friend invited me here. I was truly blown away by the amazing quality of the food, vast menu, excellent and quick service, easy seating, beautiful Paris-theme ambiance, and amazing location. Parking is easy nearby, and there is a great playground for kids right outside so you will see a lot of families here. I've already been here 3 times in the past 2 weeks and I'm going again tomorrow. So far I've gotten the lamb hash, croque madame, lamb shakshuka, morning bun, and mocha latte, all of which were good portion sizes and tasted 5/5. Service is very friendly and seating was easy to find for small groups. Very kid-friendly. I love Tatte!! read more
I had an appointment nearby and decided to stop in for a quick bite. They had a constant flow of customers so I had a feeling this place was a must-try, plus, I love a good iced coffee. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and an iced coffee to go. The sandwich sounded simple and was made with eggs and bacon but the homemade sourdough bread took it to another level. The sandwich was a great size and tasted really good. The iced coffee was OK but it tasted more like iced tea than coffee. Overall, my experience was good and I would visit again. read more
This is one of my favorite coffee spots in the area! I visit this place at least twice a month. I believe they have one of the best Iced Mochas in the area! They use a really great quality of chocolate that blends well with the espresso they use. My boyfriend really likes their Iced House Latte and Iced Mocha too! It was my first time trying their Chicken Pita Sandwich and it blew my mind how good it was! The ingredients paired really well and everything was freshly made including the pita bread. The staff is also always friendly, the service is also fast even on busy days. I love how they have ample seating space inside the cafe, it's perfect for breakfast dates as they have an extensive food menu and a bakery with freshly baked goods daily. It also serves as a good working spot, they have outlets and WiFi on site, a bathroom and lots of work room. When it is busy it can get a bit noisy but it's not terrible to the point where you have to shout to be heard. They also have an outdoor patio which is perfect for the warmer months. The only thing I wish is that the parking situation was better but then again it's Claredon, there is limited street parking generally in the area and very little room for lots. read more
Go to Tatte for the experience of walking into a beautifully designed bakery and for an aesthetic food picture. Don't go if you're looking for really high quality desserts at a reasonable price. I ordered the raspberry pavlova and the pride cake. The pavlova was way too sweet and the meringue was extremely hard. The pride cake was okay, but it lacked in flavor and was a little dry. It could have used more almond flavor in the cake as well. My favorite was the rhubarb herb seltzer. The main flavor was simple syrup, but the herbs came through and it was an overall refreshing drink. read more
Finally had a chance to try the Clarendon location of Tatte. A variety of seating available ranging from bar style to outdoor to small cafe tables to long dining tables. The menu offers variety from brunch to simple breakfast to expanded lunch options. The house tatte latte was too sweet for me but no issue made by staff to swap for a traditional latte. Overall staff is friendly and service is efficient. Great option for lunch or an afternoon pick me up. The only downside is that tables are not cleaned efficiently. We ended up sitting down at a table that wasn't wiped. Then, noticed all the tables that left around us during our meal also weren't wiped down. Seats were also not clean, the booth I sat down in was covered in croissant bits. read more
I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to Tatte! They had a beautiful display with a wide selection of fresh pastries. I definitely appreciated the friendly staff and the clean, inviting space. I shared the almond croissant and the pear tart with a friend. Both were fresh, light, buttery and very delicious. I also had an iced green tea which was thirst quenching and refreshing. This restaurant definitely had all the Parisian vibes. They have plenty of indoor seating and a number of outdoor tables as well. Overall this is a great spot for a drink and a pastry for around $10. Old school, nostalgia and Paris-parlor style bakery meets cool vibe. Whether it is to eat here at the outside tables, inside seating or take out, this place has a generous menu of items to meet your needs from sandwiches, Middle Eastern inspired eats, to savory treats and sweets. If you have no problems with your sugar levels spiking, I say dive in and indulge in the many variety of pastries they offer. To start, as a first-timer here, I must say I really like the vibe and cool interior of this place. It great for groups, remote work, and there's a lot of eating spaces. The inside interior is laid-back and casual. It's bright and you don't feel stuffy here. Where the ball drops for me is on the pastries "I" tried. I ordered an Apple Turnover w/ a regular coffee and a slice of the Upside-Down Orange cake while I sat inside. Both pastries, personally speaking, were a bit blah and missed the mark for me. Sort of just decent....nothing to rave about as a first-timer. The Apple turnover croissant was dry, lacking that soft flakey, buttery-layered flavor profile and the apple filling was little to none. After seeing an interestingly looking Upside-Down Cake that was topped with teasing orange slices and glaze.... I definitely had to try it. Yeah I know...#TeamGreedy that's me! lol. Plus, It hadn't been cut yet...so I had to try. Verdict: A let down. As much as I love a good Upside-Down Cake, this cake was very dry and not moist. It did have a nice orange flavor I'll admit, but was too sweet for me and not worth the $7 price point. My coffee was great, no complaints there. I also ordered the Short-Rib Grilled Cheese sandwich to-go. I must say it was very good!!....BUT, I recommend having the beet slaw on the side because the flavor of the beets really overpowered the rest of the sandwich. In all, cool vibe and decent first experience. The customer service was okay as well. Although the pastries were not a thumbs-up for me, the sandwich I ordered was really good and my kind of eats. Will I return or is it a "He's Gotta Have It!?" type place or moment for me is the question?? ....Maybe....possibly.... Ummm....definitely on the fence with this one. A stable 3.5 stars! Maybe I'll try the another location next time....to hopefully get pass the "average to ok" first impressions. read more
We came here for brunch on a weekend and the line was really long, but moved surprisingly fast. We didn't have to wait too long to put in our orders and get our food. The setting is also really nice :) I got the lamb Shakshuka and it was sooo good and filling! The lamb was tender and flavorful, and it came with a lot of bread that was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I couldn't finish the last slice of toast or the last few bites of my Shakshuka, but my friends had the rest and all really enjoyed it. The matcha latte was average. I usually like to have it sweetened, but no big complaints. read more
I visited Tatte on Sunday morning and found it pretty packed. Luckily I ordered pick up so I didn't have to wait in line for food. The pick up orders were lined up to the left of the entrance and it was easy to get in and out with my order. I ordered a smoked salmon sandwich, honey halva iced latte, and an almond croissant. The almond croissant was light and buttery. The smoked salmon sandwich was pretty filling. It came with quite a lot of eggs, smoked salmon, and avocado. The green herbed dressing, sprouts, and capers added some tang and was quite refreshing to have in the sandwich. The honey halva iced latte was pretty good but I wouldn't say that it was any better than a regular latte, it was just slightly different tastewise. The latte wasn't as sweet as I'd expected, probably because the halva added more toastiness than sweet. Overall, I enjoyed all the food I got to try at Tatte and would definitely come back to try other pastries and bites. read more

Love coming here to work when I get bored of being cooped up in my apt. The pastry case always has super tempting options! I love the mini muffins, the pita breads with labneh, and the mini mousse cakes. It does get busy here so cleanliness is hard to keep up with. You'll likely have to clean up after the last person right after you snatch an empty seat. Prices are quite high for some things ($6-7 for coffee, $7-10 for cakes, pizza, some pastries) but Clarendon is a rather expensive area. They seems to have some new staff because they made mistakes on putting in my coffee order a couple times (always an oat milk half cafe flat white). But coffee is good quality and orders come out fast! Super cute space. read more
Whoa stunning interior and set up - I felt like I was transported to Paris ... staff was so nice in explaining what is gluten friendly and they have a SEPARATE MENU for gluten friendly items !!!! One of the next latte's in the area, coffee was smooth- milk was super hot (I asked) but not scorched - beautiful setting- love the option of SMALL pastries. Can't wait to return. read more

Waited 28 minutes for an 8oz cappuccino, ordered at 1240 delivered at 108, finished my meal and had my table bussed prior to getting it. Asked to speak to a manager was told sorry they are busy. Won't be back read more
Nothing really extraordinary about this restaurant. I hear a lot of talk and hype on this place but I just felt like the food was very subpar. I got the grilled cheese short rib and tomato soup. The grilled cheese barely had any cheese at all and I don't even know if I really even noticed the short rib. The one thing that I loved is that it came with beets. I am obsessed with the beets! I think the soup at Panera bread is more flavorful than the one I had tonight. I really wanted a rich tomato taste and it just taste very bland. Also I cannot stand a soggy sandwich and the bread was super drenched from the beets im guessing. I would try it again but would get something else on the menu- maybe the lamb bowl. read more

Food Rating - 3 Vibe and atmosphere - 4.5 Tatte has quickly become the go-to cafe and brunch space in the North Arlington area. The cafe is very packed on the weekend and due to the virus, I prefer to sit outside. If you come later than 11 AM on a weekend, it is going to be difficult to get a seat. The coffee and pastries are reliably good. I love picking up a sourdough and their bagels to take home. All of the sweet pastries are good. The chocolate croissant, the pistachio tea cake, and the chocolate snail are my faves. I did not love the pumpkin loaf or the lemon pound cake, it seemed very heavy. I love the short rib sandwich, it is tender and delicious but it is heavy and rich. The Mediterranean breakfast plate is good, I love the different sauces it comes with. The prosciutto and gruyere eggs are also delicious. Generally, the food is okay but has some gems. Tatte is one of my favorite places to be on a sunny Saturday morning sipping coffee and getting the weekend started. I recommend! read more

I was so excited for Tatte to open, and apparently all of Arlington was because the first weekend there was a line so long that I had to go back another day. Luckily I am working from home and was able to come during the week around 9am and there was just a short line but all outdoor tables were taken. They are still working out the kinks for sure, for example figuring out how to use the register, taking a long time with drink orders, etc but that is to be expected when just opening. Food/Drink - Tatte House Latte which is Honey-Halva & Cardamom was amazing. If you like a sweet drink, this is fantastic. I will for sure be ordering again, it is exactly what I want when ordering a coffee. - Breakfast sandwich was amazing. The sourdough bread was perfectly toasted, there was enough bacon for each bite and it was 100% worth it and I would order again. - Bakery item I got which I do not remember the name of was delicious. Seating - There is a lot of indoor seating - Outdoor seating is limited, maybe seven four person tables? All were taken when we arrived so if you are planning on sitting outside you might have to fight for a table like we did. Staff - Super friendly! - We asked if we should get a croissant or breakfast sandwich and they recommended the breakfast sandwich and they were so right - it was amazing. read more
