Tattoos by Lou is a household name for tattoos and piercings in Miami and so when my sister said she wanted a nose piercing and I had the perfect suggestion. This was actually where I got my first piercing many many moons ago. Many moons than I'd like to admit, lol. Most of my friends can say they either have a piercing or fat from this Miami staple. EDIT: I wish it was mentioned that the septum jewelry is externally threaded. I had such a hard time removing it and realized it was because it was external. Externally threaded jewelry is always crap. I was told that it's titanium but I'm skeptical about the ACTUAL material since it's externally threaded. I'm skeptical because my septum started to have that septum stench, but it started occurring so early on in the healing process. Just wish there was a but more transparency about the jewelry. I got pierced by Felix and I didn't see an red flags in the shop. He let me pick the jewelry and advised me what was bad and good (in terms of initial jewelry), he sterilized the jewelry, used a needle, and so on. All good. I got a septum piercing and I'm pretty sure it went through my sweet spot. I hope so lol. Though Felix was a bit standoffish/uninterested when I walked in. I said hello and he didn't say anything then I just walked up to the counter and it was just a little awkward, he could atleast pretend to be interested in the customer but he did a great job piercing nonetheless. I recently decided to get a new tattoo. So I stopped by Tattoos By Lou in North Miami Beach. When I first walked in in was a short wait because they were very crowded. I told the young lady at the counter what I wanted, then she introduced me to Danny who was the tattoo artist on duty. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. The price was reasonable too. The shop was very clean and organized. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The was not a lot of parking space but that was not a game changer. This was by far the best piercing experience I've ever had. I've got 10 piercings on my ears and I previously had a belly and nostril piercing. I went in to get my nostril pierced again and was pleasantly surprised by how painless the whole ordeal was. I've always found the most painful part of getting a piercing to be the insertion of the ring, rather than the needle part. But Ronnie has amazing hands and for the first time in my life the piercing itself was more painful than the insertion of the ring... and the piercing was quite painless. Edit: And as you can see even their response is ridiculous. I came in there angry and full of aggression? I'm a dark skin black woman so maybe that comes off as aggression to them but absolutely not. I told this woman I got into a tussle 3 days before I ever entered the tattoo shop only because I thought she needed the info to assist me with my ring. I also did not want to disclose it was a domestic violence incident, so guess I'll disclose here... She even asked me if I won, which I laughed off. So what is she talking about? Smh instead of acknowledging that she was not helpful she responded by gaslighting. Please save your money guys. Also I didn't want "free jewelry" as you can see from my review below, the selection is severely limited and looked dusty. If I wanted "free jewelry" why would I buy a new one at Iris when they fixed my original nose ring I usually go to one piercing/tattoo shop and that's Iris which is in wynwood. However, I didn't feel like driving that far and thought what I needed was simple enough so I looked up the nearest piercing shop and this mess came up. I called at 2 over the phone I asked if they had gold jewelry and they said they did and I also explained that my nose ring (which is a flat back thread) was bent because of a little tussle. I asked if they would be able to help me fix it otherwise I'd purchase another nose ring... he told me to come in at 4 so I waited around in the area for 2 hours. Which would've been fine if they were actually helpful. Initially they seemed nice enough, my nose doesn't have a bump but was def irritated and so I asked the girl in the shop who was helping me if she had a no pull disc and would she recommend it (she knew nothing about the disc) weird, so she told me to get it from Amazon... so I said thought all piercing places had it, the other place I go to has it so thought I'd ask... this girl goes "or you can go to that other place." Lol mildly rude but wasn't too bothered. She takes me to the back and proceeds to pull at my nose ring after I told her you need to twist it off a bit first, she gets annoyed and is like "how else am I suppose to take it off" TWIST then PULL... tf She finally gets it off and attempts to fix it, is unsuccessful and tells me I'm going to have to get new jewelry... no problem. I go look at the jewelry and it's the dustiest crustiest jewelry I've ever seen. They only have gold hoops (keep in mind I called and asked for actual gold, cuz I'm very allergic to nickel and was looking for a stud) I was ok with Titanium which they also claimed to have but she told me that surgical steel and titanium were the same ok mam. I didn't trust that the dusty nose rings I saw were actually nickel free and I couldn't get a hoop, so I decide I don't like any of them. So my nose ring wasn't changed (she literally never even took my bar out) and I left with my same broken ring... so I asked her if I'm still being charged and she says yes because she took me to the back and she doesn't work for free... but she didn't work... so I'm confused. It was only 10 dollars but it's the principle like you didn't do shit and won't refund me or at least take half off?! Ridiculous. I left and immediately took the drive to Iris in wynwood and not only is it beautiful in there and the ppl are actually nice but she was able to fix my bent nose ring and I purchased another cute ring. She gave me a free back piece and cleaning kit with instructions on how to heal my irritated piercing and her personal email in case I have any problems with the ring. Total 180 from this Lou's place. I honestly don't recommend anyone go there because MAYBE they can pierce just fine but they clearly don't know how to deal with after care issues and etc. the girl at Lou's literally tried to get me to leave the bent ring because "it might close up if she switches my ring" ... Not at all what I was told at Iris. read more

FELIX WAS AMAZINGGG! Please give this man a raise, a promotion, a whole location to RUN !! But seriously, he was great and made all my friends and I feel super comfortable while getting our piercings done. He makes sure to give you options on placement (including the pros and cons) and triple check that you're happy with the location before piercing it. He also made sure to extensively go through after-care and ensure that we were all happy when we left! 10/10 experience, we would all make Felix our go-to piercer if we lived in Miami, so sad that we are out of state. read more

Me and my boyfriend got tattoos here and honestly the guy that tattooed us sort of messed them up (he was the older gentleman that works here). They were line tattoos and were supposed to be lightly done, but not only were they drawn heavy handed, but he messed up the tail on my cat. I'm a bit disappointed and won't be coming back for another tattoo. My boyfriend has gotten pierced here (Industrial) and they were fine, the ear healed a bit longer than normal but overall a pretty good experience With Coco/Koko. read more

I've been coming here for a number of years now. The reason is because it's close to my house and the place is so clean. I came here yesterday to get my left bottom left pierced for my birthday. The entire process was incredibly smooth and fast. I paid, got taken to the back, lip was pierced, got given some care products and left. I had my piercing done by Coco who's always been welcoming to whoever comes in. Overall, incredibly impressed. My piercer, Dan, really great guy, definitely recommend. He's been piercing for years (11 years if I'm remembering correctly) he was giving me advice on how to clean it & answered all of my questions. This review is long over due. The before: A few months ago I got my nose pierced at a different tattoo shop. The experience was horrible. The guy pierced my nose straight down rather than through and said "if it feels weird in a week come back and I'll fix it." Well, it felt really weird. So I did some research and thought the piercing was sinking. I decided that I didn't want to go back to the original piercer because again, it was a horrible experience. The after: So, I found tattoos by Lou, checked out the reviews and decided to give it a try. Then I met Ronni. SHE IS AWESOME! She explained what was wrong with the piercing, gave me a couple of options and then we decided to pierce it correctly. She was finished in less then a minute and my piercing has been great ever since. I recommend this place because Ronni was knowledgeable on piercings and she pays attention to detail. Yes it May seem a bit more expensive than some other shops but honestly it's worth it because you know you're going to have the job done correctly. read more

First off, I walk into the shop and the and the people in there were not very friendly at all! They actually seemed like they did not want to help me or take my money. After agreeing to a price, I get my tattoo. The artist had a shakey hand, he used shitty ass ink (my tattoo faded extremely fast, I've had my tat for only 2 months and it looks like it is 10 years old already!). They really overcharged me for the quality of work I was getting. The guy went through it really fast, and you can tell through the work I received. I do not recommend getting a tattoo here, my tattoo was fairly simple tattoo but it looks like a 4 year old drew it and colored it. Would of given two stars if my pricing was cheaper, but my artist wasn't skilled at all. The style of art is very traditional here too I noticed. The piercings are fairly priced though, I will give them that credit. But the jewelry is not included. read more

Had a piercing done here by Daniel two months ago. I called to ask some questions about the piercing, and he was so informative and helpful that I went within the hour get it done. The shop appeared clean, and the two staff members there were friendly and professional. The piercings themselves were quick and (nearly) painless. I used the piercing saline spray that was included with the service, and have followed the aftercare instructions and have not had any problems thus far. Got my first tattoo there yesterday , tattooist was Roger and of course it was painful but as pain go not to shabby I've had worst pain in my life. I got a Phoenix well it wasn't really in the spot I was originally thinking it was my fault though I was too nervous but surprisingly it was in the perfect spot. I got a nostril piercing here the other night, and the great experience I had started even before I walked in- when I called earlier in the day, I was answered by Dan (who was friendly and offered to answer any questions before even arriving). As I walked in, I was greeted right away. Dan was the one who preformed the service, and it was quick and (almost) painless.
