Decided to look for a bar close to our home here in Glendale came across this place and decided to take a chance and come in there was the owner and one bartender working they greeted us let us pick our seats and were extremely helpful in choosing cocktails and drinks and we even ordered some food to go while we enjoyed our cocktails the owner then came over to talk to us and he offered us a shot that he made personally he had a name for it but it was delicious cannot wait to come back to this place again we definitely found our neighborhood tavern to come enjoy some drinks within walking distance of our home and they even have good upbeat music to sit in your chair and dance to. Visited this place during happy hour with other Yelpers. Tavern on Brand has pretty good happy hour deals. Draft beers and cocktails are BOGO from 12-7pm while bites are specially priced from 12-4pm. They also have daily specials available all day. On a Monday we came here, the daily special was a burger and Bud for $5. I ordered the chicken Torta ($6) which was actually a plain bun stuffed with a few chicken bits (not chunks). It was kind of sad-looking and after finishing it, I was still hungry so I ordered a hotdog ($4). It didn't fare any better. Costco hotdog even tastes better than what this place offers. I felt bites here are pricey considering the size and taste. Food was bland and boring. At least, the friendly staff took care of us the entire time we were there. Stumble upon this bar on a Tuesday afternoon, came in here for a few drinks. We noticed the Happy Hour menu and asked the bartender if it's Happy Hour right now and she replies "yes you guys still have time for one more drink". While the bartender knew we were interested in the Happy Hour menu she failed to let us know that we weren't ordering from the Happy Hour menu, which is fine. However, I did order 1 BLUEMOON, which was part of the Happy Hour menu! After 1 hour at the bar, we asked for our check to learn that the only draft beer qualified for the buy 1 get 1 draft was CIDER, BLUEMOON, ESTELLA, LOCAL IPA. I asked the bartender can I have the buy 1 and get 1 draft beer that I ordered during Happy Hour and she replies... "NO Happy Hour is over". Came here to watch game 5 of the NBA finals. The atmosphere was lively and there were plenty of nice screens to watch the game from, however the food and drinks were extremely subpar. The pork sandwich was tough, and the drinks felt uninspired. Additionally, the service was extremely slow even when there weren't a lot of people yet. I used to not like this place cuz of Vahe, the manager. He was just really dark and rude. Can't even explain it. But a year and a Covid episode later, here comes Brandon, wonderful, wonderful, effervescent fellow that is just a breath of fresh air. He is such a brilliant bar tender that I would say he belongs in a high end bar in Beverly Hills. He remembered my favorite/regular drink like a year later. I come in and he's like "skinny margarita, right?" Like, hello! How did he know that! Like. Total alcohol whisperer. And the night I met him I was crying and sad and he was totally there for me. Today, may 17th, we came to have dinner and watch the basketball game and a few beers. It feels like we are on an embarrassing episode of Bar Rescue. The service is absolutely HORRIBLE. We have been coming here for years and have never experienced this. The waiter just went on his break when it got a bit busier even though I wouldn't call it that. Never said he was taking a break. We had to wait 20 mins to get menus and ask if we wanted anything when we sat down. (There were 4 other people here). We had to ASK them to service us. Now after we got one drink and our food - it's been 30'mins. Not once has anyone asked us if we want another round or if we're okay. Can't even get their attention to get the check and leave. There is screaming terrible rock music on... this place has gone downhill drastically. So disappointing wont be returning. We were actually excited to see they had brunch now but if the service is anything like today, no THANK YOU. Bartender and waiter have ZERO personality. Horrible horrible horrible. It's been quite some time since my last visit to this spot, practically over a decade at the time of my first review of the spot. I came back here one Saturday night 2/19/2022 around 11PM after going to the Round 1 in Burbank and playing a few sets of DDR and Pump It Up to get my cardio in for the day. I wasn't really planning on staying for that long as I was doing a bit of research for some possible places to have a social get-together for a few of my old team mates that have left the company a long while back. I was debating between Mr Furley's Bar, which was just a couple of buildings down the same side of the block and Tavern on Brand. I made my first stop over the Mr Furley's Bar and saw that it was packed for a Saturday night--like super packed and the entire pool hall inside was taken up but I did confirm that they are, in fact, open until 2AM in the morning Monday thru Friday. I left that spot and stopped by Tavern on Brand and also confirmed their business hours, and then just because it was such a quiet and chill atmosphere, I just decided to sit down and get an idea of how they make their cocktails. I asked the only Asian guy server/bartender in the bar for a menu and he gave me a QR code placard to scan on my phone. Sadly, my phone was being stupid that day and it couldn't scan the QR Code. I just decided to order all of my tried-and-true beverages of choice: gin and tonic, bourbon old-fashioned, whiskey sour, and a cosmopolitan. Out of all them, my most favorite was probably the bourbon old-fashioned but they were all pretty decent all around. I don't generally like the way most bars make the bourbon old-fashioned but this place makes it a good one on well. In fact, all of them were on well and well drinks/cocktails are $8 each. The only thing I wished for the bourbon old-fashioned is the size of the glass used but it was traditionally made with a single cubed block of ice--and the mixture was just right. Though I didn't catch her name, I think she was the only female bartender tending to the front of bar that night. I also come to find out that the only Asian guy server/bartender is named Ed and the bartender that made me my gin and tonic is named Brandon. All very nice folks, they were attentive and checked in with me when my drinks were empty. Oh, and if you're wondering, they use Gordon's for their gin on well. They don't have a scotch on well, but they use Evan Williams for the well bourbon, if I recall correctly. They take credit cards and you can keep a tab open. Enough said. They have a restroom at the far back and to the left hand side from the front of entrance. It is located just before you exit out the back exit door. You can't miss it. It seemed cleaned enough and it was unisex. Only one person can use it any given time. The door is lockable from the inside. Ambiance. Kind of dark, chill lounge vibe. I like it. They have TV's all throughout on the inside tuned into the sports. The space inside is rectangular but narrow. There was about 4-6 outdoor tables and seats on the sidewalk that seats maybe 4 people each and then 2-4 more tables just outside the 'main entrance' on he left and right hand-side. To the right of the entrance is the L-shaped bar with maybe 10 bar stools. To your left are a few lounge U-shaped booths with chairs. Centerline area had a few high top tables and chairs that seat 2-3 each. I think it's worth bringing a small to mid-sized group for a chill evening. I didn't order any food that night but the kitchen closed at 11:30PM while the bar itself remains open until 2AM on a Saturday. If I recall correctly, the only nights that they are open that late is Friday and Saturday while Sunday thru Thursday, they are only open until 1AM but I believe they open at the same time every day of the week, namely, 11:30AM. Also, the kitchen closes at 10:30PM for Sunday thru Thursday. It really wasn't all that busy for a Saturday. I think I saw 5-6 big groups in total. 2-3 of them occupied the space at their outdoor seating area and then the other 3 groups occupied the space inside the bar. Then there appeared to be the regulars, the one or two that either sat together or alone at the front of bar. There was like 6 open seats at the front of bar so I just decided to sit there. Every worker/bartender/server wore masks, if you care for that sort of thing. All in all, I think I'll just make this spot for my future social get-together for my old team mates. I like it enough that I'm pretty sure I'll be stopping by on a Friday night more regularly just to see what their typical Friday nights are like and how busy it gets but if it's anything like the Saturday night when I was there alone and doing some reconnaissance, that would be most ideal. I totally recommend this spot, if you happen to be in the area and want a chill spot to share a few drinks together. read more

I'm not one for outrageous, stemwinding Yelp reviews but after my experience at Tavern on Brand (TOB moving forward), I felt it necessary. Reintegrating back into society has been exhausting and disappointing, and it feels like so much of the hospitality industry has been wrung dry of both their spirit and energy - with good reasoning, of course. With that being said, when I encounter an employee who seems to go out of their way to make sure we are being taken care of and having a good time, I do my best to express gratitude. It was the type of Saturday that it just seems like nothing you do is right. Every restaurant has an hour long wait, parking is a disaster, it's hot as hell outside and you can't for the life of you figure out what you're in the mood for - so you go with a safe bet. A sports bar. You tell yourself, "I'm sure I'll find something, it's a sports bar for crying out loud." I was willing to settle with a beer and a burger and go about my Saturday business. In comes Vahe, our bartender. Upon walking up to our table, my mood immediately shifted from one of annoyance to one of genuine happiness. I was no longer at a restaurant I settled at, I was at TOB and this was a damn good bartender. He successfully convinced us to go for mojito's and mule's instead of beer without being pushy or up-selly. He sat down with us, told a few jokes and even told us about a some upcoming live music events which we're excited to attend. Though it seemed he was the only person working on a pretty busy Saturday afternoon, not one table had an empty glass or wasn't being attended to. Vahe genuinely made my day better and I just wanted to say thank you. This last year has been tough, but it's people like him who reinstill my faith in humanity. We've been so conditioned to being treated poorly or disconnecting from the human experience as society becomes "normal" again (whatever that means), so it was a fresh of breath air to be around someone with a sense of joie de vivre. My friend and I met at Tavern on Brand to check out their Happy Hour. I liked the two for one deal on some of the beer. We both ordered the Allagash Blonde Ale and it was very good, so we ended ordering a second one. We ended up ordering two orders of the edamame because that was something to eat that didn't contain lots of calories. It hit the spot. There is metered parking in front or a lot in back. You do have to walk all around the block to get to the parking. I would recommend walking with someone to your car if you park in back. read more
