Great food great service. Clean beautiful building. Great setting. Rye old fashioned and burgers are the bomb.

Great quiet place to have a nice dinner. Very friendly staff! We ordered a chicken sandwich and it was tasty.

4.5 Stars This review is for their Sunday Buy One Get One…read moreFree Bottles of Wine night only. My colleagues and I went to Tannin on a random Sunday based off a recommendation from another business owner. He said that they had a killer wine list and great apps. And he was right! What we didn't know was that we picked the best day to go for a group of 6 people. Sunday's buy a bottle get one free really suited our group. We ended up ordering two bottles of white and two bottles of red ($40-50 price range) and shared those between the six of us. We were also allowed to cork-and-carry any wine that we didn't finish. We ordered and shared the following appetizers: cheese & charcuterie, roasted red pepper hummus, crispy shrimp, pommes frites, and chicken shawarma. All of it was great - especially the chicken shawarma. Why this review isn't 5 stars: We were there to ask questions about different wine profiles and really learn about what we were drinking. This task seemed out of the comfort zone of our server, which we thought to be odd. However, there was another gentleman there (whose name I have unfortunately forgotten) that really helped us out and steered us in the right direction all night. His recommendations did not disappoint. The other reason is that the rest of the menu is at a high pricepoint. We only ordered appetizers because of this. Overall - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Tannin is much larger inside than it seems from the outside. My original impression was that it…read morewould be a small, upscale place, but in reality it does not have much personality and it isn't necessarily a classy experience, as you would expect from a wine bar. The inside is horseshoe shaped with a bar in the middle and seating on both sides. The wine selection, for a wine bar, is also extremely small. The wine that I did taste, a cab, was delicious though. They have a small food menu. We didn't order food, but what others were eating around us looked and smelled good. The servers were friendly and attentive. I just don't think it fits the aesthetic a wine bar should have so it was, for me, underwhelming.

The space is smallish but they do have bar seating in addition to seating throughout. The service was friendly and the drinks were great. They don't offer food, but they do offer cocktails, beer, wine, and mocktails. I went on a Sunday and they have a special menu called "Almost Monday." It's a smaller, simpler cocktail menu and the prices are very fair compared to other cocktail spots. I tried the Caipirinha (pineapple) and the Negroni sour. Both were good. My favorite between the two was the Negroni. It had a pretty color and wasn't too sour or strong. I'd def recommend it and get it again. Definitely stop in and check out this cute spot in Shawnee.

When you arrive there is parallel parking available outside the bar. When you walk in you'll feel like your bright, vibrant, and feels incredibly welcoming. Also, they have some really fun drinks as well that have been thoughtfully put together. We ended up sitting at the bar and I started with the Reformed Porn Star (vanilla vodka, bronson's tropical milk punch, passion fruit, Prosecco, citric acid and popping boba) which was by far my favorite drink and felt like I could have drank a couple more of these. Second I tried the Neo Cosmo (white rum, strawberry, cacao, coconut, rose hip, lime, bubble) which was good and was a fun drink with an ice cream shaped cup and a bubble on the top (meant to look like an ice cream cone). If you are in the area, this bar is a must try, the bartenders were awesome and took good care of us. Between the creative cocktails, fun atmosphere, unique floral setting, this was a memorable experience I'd definitely return for.

She was attentive, kind, and clearly holding it down even when management was on some weird decisions. Now for the food... meh. The arancini balls were dry. I was excited for that green goddess sauce but it was way too salty. Not a vibe. The stuffed mushrooms though? Fire. My man tore his up and said they were the best part of the meal. The crab had that lil fishy kick to it, but like... it's Kansas, what we expect? We got the rosé flight--honestly the highlight. $12 well spent. No complaints there. He had the smash burger which was so good... but I'm realizing now it came without the onion topping. Probably forgot it. Not a dealbreaker but still. Now let's talk about the wild part... I asked for some marinara for the arancini and the manager had Emily bring me cocktail sauce. Not a joke. Cocktail sauce, y'all. Like... shrimp dip. Not even close. It's giving confusion. You got a whole ragu on the menu but can't pull together a marinara or even a basic tomato sauce? That ain't it. And instead of coming over to explain or offer an alternative, the manager had Emily do it? Smh. Not cool. But because Emily was dope, we'll probably be back. Wednesday wine nights might see us again just hoping management gets it together. If I wanted mystery red sauce, I'd be at Taco Bell. This is a wine bar. With tapas. Let's act like it.

Their shrimp Alfredo is the best I've ever had. The sauce is delicious and the shrimp was cooked perfectly I genuinely don't think anything could have been better about it. Chicken Piccata was light and fresh, although the chicken seemed almost poach rather than pan fried seared as described. The side Cesar was very good and the garlic knots were fresh and delicious. Two friends had eggplant parm that looked amazing and was a very large portion. Another had chicken fettuccine which looked equally good. The dining room was filling up as we left and the hard finishes in the dining room make it noisy which wasn't a problem for us, but wouldn't be a good choice for a quiet romantic dinner unless you dined very early or late. Small things when compared to the overall experience.
