I was referred to this place by a co-worker of mine and I feel forever indebted for the reference! Its not easy to find tax accountants that spend the amount of time these guys do with each and every client. Sure, their is a long wait even with an appointment, but who cares!? These guys are saving YOU money! I would have waited 4 more hours without a problem. Albert amended my taxes and found several errors in previous filed years. His charge was very reasonable. After I received my amended 2011 tax return, I tried scheduling an appointment with Albert. He was booked till April! (even on weekends). That is how good he is. So I scheduled an appointment with Benjamin. He was just as knowledgeable and spent the same amount of time with me as Albert. Yes they get busy and sometimes you have to wait, but after years of trying different places, I must say I appreciate the time and dedication that TGA staff takes to make sure that I get every penny afforded to me. Also, with other places I've gone to, they don't like to answer my questions and they don't show me what they are doing. I would just sit there and they would say, "ok, your return is $$$." I don't know why people are complaining about TGA, I've been doing my taxs with them for about 10yr now and I have never had any problems. I have been seen by three different people within those 10yr and they have been awesome at answering all my questions and explaining everything in detail about what I was filing for and what I would be receiving because I actually take the time to review my return before it is filed even if it means getting less back by fixing some mistakes I might find. Maybe the people complaining didn't bother to ask what and why certain things were being filed, instead they were probably more focused on how much they would receive rather than reviewing what was being filed. Don't deserve one star! Horrific level of respect for Customer time. In the last three years. They have failed to accept us at our appointment time. Last year, taking into consideration their disrespectful trend in canceling or not fulfilling appointment time. I decided to give them another chance, I called a couple hours before our appointment to confirm, my husband was taking time off from work and wanted to make sure it was not for a loss. Well guess what, I called and was told, family emergency, no can do. I understand emergencies, what I don't understand. Is an initial apologetic call with a new appointment date. How could can these guys be? An honest, professional, great tax prep "Guy", will follow IRS sanctions. Anyone promising you loop holes, is promising you an audit. Not worth it for me. This place is the worst!! Take your business somewhere else. They will not return your calls, emails, or text messages. Back in 2010 Liz filed my taxes I never received my return. After several calls and emails i gave up. I went back the following year despite what happen I mentioned it to Liz and she said she would call but she had to charge me for spending time on the phone with the IRS. I paid her and I didn't hear back from her I had to call for updates and even text her but no answer. I reached out to Carlos and he said he would take care of the matter after tax season. I called back to check on a status he no longer works there. So now two people have dropped the ball. I spoke to another guy who actually got the IRS revenue to call me. I called him up to give him an update and to request a copy of my records. I drove to South Gate to find out that I was being charged $150 for his services and record fees. Two people have dropped the ball and I have to pay again for something that was supposed to be taken care of back in 2010. The owner was at the office and wouldn't even come out to speak to me. It really pains me to write such a negative review, especially after being a customer for the past three years, but I feel so screwed over by this place. I could complain about the horrendous wait time but I figured it was worth the service, damn was I wrong. It took me three years to see the kind of crap they pull. I'm currently getting audited because they claimed an education credit for my daughter when she didn't qualify for it. When I called to ask for audit help, they said they would prepare my audit forms for me but upon researching some more I discovered that they were the ones who initially screwed up. Obviously, I went to these guys because I was no tax expert and had good faith that they knew what they were doing. I confronted them about their error and similar to the other reviews here they avoided me and stopped responding to my inquiries. It's really upsetting because I spread such a good word about them and recently discovered that two of the customers I referred to tax guy Albert also were audited and screwed over. So now not only have I been left to fix their mistake and of course pay back the IRS a hefty sum, I feel horrible for getting others in the same predicament, while they sit pretty laughing at all of us. I'm surprised this place hasn't closed down yet but I'm sure it won't be long after all those complaints, including my own, roll in to the BBB and the California labor board and tax franchise. Time to look for a new tax advisor. read more

Horrible business ethics. I called multiple times to get a copy of my w2 form that I needed for a home loan and they always said they would call me back. I never heard back and kept calling over a period of three months. To this date I still don't have my copy. Go somewhere else. read more

I've been going to Tax Guy Albert for about 5 yrs already. They are great! Their customer service is awesome. Everytime I walk in I am greeted with a smile and professional demeanor. They are always very accomodating. Every year I always wait to the last minute to try and book an appointment but they are always happy to fit me in no matter if it's past closing time or not. And for those of you complaining about wait times, this must be your first tax season because I've been doing taxes for 15 years and had many tax preparers and there's always a wait. If their isn't, you're probably going to the wrong people because no one else wants to do taxes with them. TGA has many returning customers, many of my family members return and they are very happy with their service. They are very thorough and extensive. I e-filed my taxes two weeks ago and the refund was in my bank account the next week. I never had an issue getting copies of my tax returns. I had to get a copy two years ago because I lost mine and they took about 15 minutes to get them for me. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would. I went to do my taxes a month ago, waited an hour after my appt. Then I thought everything was fine and that I would receive my taxes within the time frame that is given. Then I call to find my taxes were never filed because " I didn't give them the paperwork they needed". Which was BS. I kept calling over and over and over to try to talk to the person that filed my taxes, and she was "too busy to answer". I e-mailed, I texted her, called her at TGA and NOTHING! I literally had to hunt her down day in and day out. until she finally answered just to tell me SHE was the one that misplaced my paperwork and could not find it. The guy that helped me earlier was a douche bag and told me that it was my fault that my taxes were not filed and that he could either hang up on me or "help me". (He does taxes but was helping answer phones) He didn't even know that his co-worker was the unorganized one that lost my information; I expected better from someone that supposedly deals with shit like this. My taxes have still not been filed and I am waiting to see what bullshit comes up next. I wish I could get my money back, but i'm sure if I ask for it they'll just talk more shit. I really wanted to be satisfied with this place and come back. I overpaid to have my taxes lingering around, to have to hunt down my tax preparer, and to have to drive all the way to South Gate. On top of everything the guy that helped tried to imply all this was my fault. FUCK YOU. Unprofessional, unorganized, uneducated. NEVER GOING BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are good at completing one's taxes, but they are very disorganized. I've made two appointments on separate occasions with them and both experiences were bad. I called two days ahead of time to make the first appointment and when I call an hour before to reschedule, my appointment wasn't even in their system! I'm glad I called otherwise I could've been stood up. The second time was worse! I called a day ahead to schedule the second appointment and when I was running late for the appointment, I called to inform I was running late. I was then told my tax preparer had stepped out at the last minute, but no one had called me to inform me of this change. I then asked to see another preparer for the same day; I was told no one was available to assist me and to reschedule for another day. This is an outrage for me because I live far and traffic is very busy by the time I go to file my taxes. Anyone in the office could've called to let me know that I needed to reschedule, but no one did anything. I understand that last minute emergencies can happen to anyone, but this is a business we're talking about. It only takes one person to make a phone call. One phone call can go a long way. read more

This is the second year I have my taxes done here and tax guy Albert is AMAZING!!! hence the wait! To all the people complaining about waiting a a bit to get their taxes done maybe you should take a second to realize that OBVIOUSLY it's because Albert and his entire staff is great. I'd rather wait and have my taxes done correctly then go somewhere where they are just waiting around with no customers. For the most part they are pretty prompt with their appointments and accommodating this year I was 30 minutes late to my appointment they were already closed and Albert was already on his way out YET he still took me! If that's not dedication and care for your customers I don't know what is! I truly appreciate that type of customer service. My entire family has now switched to tax guy Albert and they couldn't be happier! All in all give tax guy Albert and his staff a try and trust you'll never go anywhere else. read more
