After four long years, with every summer having the ALL windows/deck tarped up, both main entrances to the building blocked off, and construction access given to my apartment for 8 hours every day, they are still not close to being done. Had a door to door guy walk up to my house (even though I have a no soliciting sign at the front of the neighborhood, on my mailbox, and on my front door) they still came to my door... I am actually in the market for new gutters so instead of yelling at him I decided to give them a shot. He took my info and said someone will call in the next few minutes to schedule the estimate. I got the call and set up the meeting for the next day at noon (Saturday). That night I searched for reviews and found MANY people complaining about high pressure sales, late or just no show, and daily harassing phone calls and door hangers. This already set a sour taste in my mouth about them. Saturday noon came and went, and I take the "if they aren't here in 15 minutes we are legally allowed to leave meme seriously... So at 12:15 I had shit to do and left. Nobody called and I frequently checked my security cameras, nobody... Today someone called to offer an inconvenience coupon which I refused because they waisted my time obviously not wanting business. I also told Irene Taylor that nobody from their company and any affiliate companies may contact me in any form and this was a recorded line, she just hung up on me. This company comes to our house all the time with pushy requests to give us estimates on work we need done. I gave them my phone number and scheduled an estimate once thinking it would take an hour or so. My time was monopolized for three hours by someone who has clearly been trained in making HARD SELLS. Another time, someone else pressured me into an estimate. I tried to cancel it but was nonetheless called twenty or thirty times by their company from different phone numbers. They leave stuff on our door on a regular basis that I have to throw away. We don't pay our HOA fees to deal with this sort of illegal solicitation. read more

Taylor Construction installed an insulation product called Eshield 11,000 in my attic back in 2010. The product has a lifetime warranty. So fast fwd 6 yrs later. I no longer live at that residence and simply called to get clarity on the lifetime warranty. The customer service staff was pleasant to me over the phone. I was even contacted by the actual sales rep who came out to my house 6 yrs ago and he doesn't even work there anymore. Says a lot about his character. He was very professional and courteous to me. But the sales rep who currently works there also returned my call and he acted like I bothered him by asking the question. Very short and rude. My pet peeve is people that hang up in your face when they're done talking to you. Customer service is EVERYTHING. I won't be using them for anything else ever again all because of him. read more

Rep came out for gutter estimate. I don't believe he measured the entire house. I never saw him at one area at the back. He verbally told me 3 estimates. I asked him to email those to me which he said he would. The next day I got a call from the office wanting to discuss my concern for the amount of estimates. I never said anything to the rep about the cost. I told the lady that I was still waiting on the email with estimates. She said she would sent it. She also said they had a sister company that could do gutters much cheaper and at cost and she'd set it up for another estimate. When they called back to confirm I told them that I still had not received any emails. She told me that it was their company policy to NOT give written estimates. I told her that is a huge red flag for a company not to give that in writing and I would not do business with anyone with that policy. She was persistent that many companies don't give written estimates. I told her I won't do business with companies like that plus their verbal estimate was 4 times higher than than other estimates. read more

I used Taylor to install the Ultimate Gutter Guard system in my home. After 5 years the gutters fell off my house. I had 2 other installers come out to review the replacement and each told me Taylor did an improper installation. Taylor said the problem was with the facia board installation and not theirs. Nevertheless Taylor wanted to charge twice what they did the first time to replace the gutters and refused to accept any responsibility. After calls and blame shifting I simply went with another company who did the job at a fraction of the cost. read more

However, we refused - why should both of us take time off of work/life responsibilities just to get an estimate to fix our gutters?!?! After seeing the other reviews about the HARD SELL this company gives, I have absolutely no intention of continuing to pursue a business relationship. I met with the Taylor Construction representative at the Atlanta Home Show on March 25th. I was very specific on the single picture window I needed replaced. I explained the circumstance and we set up my appointment for Tuesday. I was called today to confirm and suddenly I needed a 5 window minimum before they would consider my project. I did also review all of the literature he gave to me and nowhere is there one mention of a minimum project. This is the classic Bate and Switch condition. Buyer beware!!!! read more

Bought my first property and needed new gutters. Had no idea how much good gutters would cost. I called Taylor Construction for a estimate, and the same story as everyone else they took 3-4 hrs of my time. Waited to the end of this long presentation just tell me the gutters were gonna cost me $6k. They made it seem as if I don't get gutters tomorrow my house would fall down. So I ended signing some paperwork with the option of cancelling. I go about 2-3 weeks without hearing from anybody and I finally call them. Turns out the sales guy who came by was fired or quit and I never received notice. The damage was nowhere near as bad as they claimed. They made a ton of excuses as far as scheduling. I had a tenant at the time and they had to move out because it was taking too long to get the damage fixed. Taylor construction made a ton of excuses, their truck broke down or the drivers sick. They finally come out and after 20 mins they tell me they can't put the gutters up. They said we don't the right amount of space. So they had me get a tree branch cut for clearance. Months latter still no work done. During that time I went ahead and got quotes from other people/companies. Screw that, I went a different route and got some regular gutters installed and what do you know. PROBLEM FIXED!! And it don't cost anywhere near $6000.00, more like $1200.00. By this I'm calling and calling, and trying cancel. These jerks wasted my time and costed me a tenant and potentially more money. And kept my deposit! Stay away from these fools. read more

Our experience with Taylor construction was way worse than buying a car! We contacted Taylor construction for an estimate on new energy efficient windows. When I made the appointment those people were very nice and had great customer service. But they were over an hour late I called and all I got was an apology. "I don't know why I can't get ahold of my technician, and if you buy our windows within a year you'd receive an inconvenience discount". So I reschedule for the following day at noon. Once again over an hour late! I called and I was told the sales person was stuck on 285. When he finally got here he had a completely different story. I never receive a call saying they were on there way and was late or anything. Moving on to the consultation. Our sales person had never done a window estimate. We had explained that he was an hour and a half late and that he had plans. (This appointment was on a Saturday) The sales person told us that he couldn't complete the estimate in an hour and a half. By the time he took his measurements for 6 windows, (4 windows are the exact same size), figured out the prices, we sat down 2.5 hours later to hear the sales pitch and pick out product. After the extremely long sales pitch of bull crap we got the price that was 6,000 for 6 windows! Then we were told it would take 4-6 weeks for our windows to come in! After we said that was way too much and this was our first estimate and we had other scheduled he tried everything he could to pressure us as well as insult us in our home on how stupid we were for not buying the windows RIGHT THEN AND THERE! He proceeded to call his boss to get the price lowered. He said if we would put our name down for other potential customers to call us to get our opinion about there product, (which was in a book we were given to look at to call whoever we'd like but said CONFIDENTIAL), then if we'd put a sign in our yard for 30 days, and if we'd dress up in a chicken costume and carry there sign, they got the price down almost 1,000. Since this is the first thing we are doing to fix up our home is why we wanted many estimates because we are young and first time home buyers so that is only reasonable. Then we were insulted because of our stupidity for not buying the windows right on the spot. Funny thing is I called Taylor construction because of a referral. This referral had 12 windows installed for the same price!!!!!! I will not use Taylor construction and I will make sure this review is known everywhere. read more

Spent thousands of dollars in 2006 just to have the warranty voided when Taylor sold their company in 2008. Still using the same name and still pitch that they have been in business for 60 plus years, but if they can just sell their company to get out of their obligations. We used Taylor Constructions partner company Southern Windows and Siding company. We feel we got a fair price for replacing 27 windows and a sliding glass door. The install team worked all day and were very nice and professional. However upon their departure we realized that one of the larger windows in our master bath was never caulked or finished on the inside. After further inspection we realized that only one or two windows were even caulked properly outside, and some only on one or two sides of the window. This was actually one of the main criteria we wanted to be done properly, as this protects the windows from rain and insects from being able to come in to the house. I called the salesperson first thing the next morning and he answered the phone right away informing me that a job as large as ours was bound to have some follow up work needed to be done. He stated that he was going to have someone call me to schedule a day for the installers to come back and finish the job. I waited another 3 days and didn't hear anything so I called him again and his cell went straight to voicemail. So I sent a text with pictures of what was needed to be fixed. No reply and no return call to my text or voicemail. I waited another 4 days and I called the salesman's cell, and once again went straight to vm. So I immediately called the office number and an associate answered. I asked to speak to our salesperson and he informed me that he was there yet not available. I went on and explained the situation to him and asked to have him call me ASAP. He never did. A day later I get a call from a rep from Taylor construction telling me they got the information for our salesman and the pics that I sent him and that she was sending all this info to the installer who would call me to schedule a day to come by and caulk the windows. It has been another 3 days and I have yet to hear anything. We are extremely dissatisfied with the customer service that Taylor Construction Company and Southern Window and Siding Company has shown us. We paid over $14K for windows and we expect the company to back their "customer satisfaction" that was promised. We now have to pay our painters extra to caulk all the windows since they are about to paint our exterior. We do not recommend you use Taylor Construction Company and Southern Window and Siding Company because if you have any issues you will not get it resolved, regardless of the amount of money paid and your phone calls and texts will go unanswered. read more

My new shower is really nice. The installers came when promised and were courteous and professional. The only thing I would have changed is the visit to measure the shower. I didn't realize that I could have made the shower wider. I thought maybe the shower pan came in some standard size. It would have been nice if the young man had given me more information. read more

They came out shortly after it was put in and semi fixed it, but told us we shouldn't have let them put it in in the first place....gee, isn't this exactly why you hire a contractor, to give advice on your home and work on it? I called Taylor construction to get a vinyl siding quote. Some cha cha named Dan Donovan showed up at my door and came in and grinned at me for 30 minutes , asking me all of the obvious questions, like " i see you have an ohio state hat on, you must be a buckeye fan " duh, some one graduated from rapport building #101 class with an "A" there dano. So, after he grinned at me for 30 minutes, he proceeded to stroll around my house and take notes on a yellow legal pad, then knocked on my door again and promised to have a quote to me by Tuesday, got in his Cadillac and sped off. Tuesday shows up and where is grinning Dano, no where to be found, neither is his quote. Ol Dan could star in the remake of the movie Matchstick Men, he is that smarmy. Do not waste your time with Taylor, and really don't waste your time with Dan Donovan , as he doesn't do what he says he will do for you. This is a high pressure window sales job. The windows are quality but they are not the only place you can buy windows. That's their gimmick. They show you actual quotes of other overpriced installers and their prices are better and they have the BEST window. I did not know their was a monopoly on window installers. It is likely the only place that will come to your home and insult you and brow beat you into signing a contract. I truly encourage you to look on Angie's list for other other reputable companies. You will see a 50-75% reduction in whatever price Taylor quotes. I recieved a call the next day about a sister company(parent company) that may be able to give me lower price because of company overhead. It was their parent company trying to see how they could make the deal work. It was a higher price to show me that the previous rude salesperson gave me a great price. My job was a gutter installation. Company sent very good salesman, but after that I struggled with crew and salesman that did not have crews phone number to call, so he told me to communicate my issues with the crew, what? Crew member had to wait at hospital to pick up his helper, but delayed arrival and no communication. Stayed until 9:00 p.m. at night on a Friday. Two other crew members were very unproffesional and told me they had to hurry up on my job, because they had another one to go to. Now they want to come on a Saturday with short notice of a call just now on a Saturday. Run away from this company, very unprofessional. The company came up with all kinds of excuses for not coming on time, they just wanted my money. I asked them not to rush my job, I am a disabled veteran struggling already and it feels as if they want to walk all over people like me. The one crew member smoked around my home and even put his cigarette out on my porch post. They really did not want me there to watch. I asked them to be careful to not damage my new roof, but the gentleman did not listen and continued to scatch off granules, when there was no need to put ladder on the roof in the fashion he did. Please do not make the mistake I did in hiring this company, they wasted my entire time on Friday, wanted to waste my Saturday so they could rush to finish the job as the head crew guy said he had to go to his brothers funeral on Saturday, I guess it was a short funeral, because today on Saturday he wants to finish. read more

We have had Ultimate Gutter Guard gutters installed on our entire house through Taylor Construction. We have had nothing but problems since. First there was a leak on an end-cap. Next, during a frequent Atlanta summer downpour, water was gushing down from the upper roof's downspout and running OVER the gutter on the lower roof. They left the downspout open instead of feeding it directly into the lower gutter. In two trips, they have fixed both problems. But only in the front. No one thought about the same design being on the back of the house! I have sent videos and have called three times. Seven business days has passed and I haven't seen or heard from anyone. Meanwhile, water continues to gush over the gutter and ruin the back yard below. Even when the gutters were first installed, Lowell Penning, the production manager, neglected to phone, as he said he would. I always had to call him and now I continue to wait contact from him. We paid $4300.00 for this gutter system, and you would think a large, well known company would make great efforts to service their customers. I believe we are not getting our money's worth for the amount we paid. The system is highly over priced and the customer service is terrible. The installers left debris and cigarette butts all over the grounds during all of their visits. I will never use Taylor Construction again and if you do, expect to be ripped off and waiting. read more

Made the mistake of using Taylor Construction to construct our sun room at our Georgia home. Should have know when a high pressure salesman arrived at our home, demanding to know where my wife was. Had told him on the phone that she should be home, but her professional schedule called here away. I immediately recognized this as an old sales game, making sure both spouses are present, so sales pressure can be applied to both and to play them against each other. Taylor has yet to return the copy of the land survey I loaned them, despite promises from their salesman that it would be returned. Sun room construction was delayed several times, so they say, due to shipping strikes. Construction was very shoddy, and the windows have never fit properly. Taylor promised to clean the windows and never did. One guy was trying to do all the construction, and he had to hire day labor to help him. I doubt these people were even licensed or insured. Never again would we ever deal with Taylor Construction! After all the research we had done re Sunrise Windows we already knew we wanted them. My husband asked the salesperson more than a doz times to leave & it did no good. Finally I got out of bed to tell him to leave. I could hear his loud, boisterous voice pushing those windows. He was pushy, rude, disrespectful, loud, obnoxious, & refused to leave after the dozen or so times we told him to do so. Husband told him as soon as he arrived that I (wife) was sick in the back bedroom & to make it short. And he went on & on for 90 minutes! He would not shut up. We told him that we were convinced of Sunrise Windows up until he kept continually ignoring our request for him to leave. Instead he chose to then sit down and said he needed to give us the window cost figures. We could not get rid of this guy! Quite frankly I began to get afraid because he would not leave! I was sick and he was aware of that yet he refused to be respectful of our wishes that he had been in our home long enough. I feared for my safety & thought of calling the Sheriff.
