We just had Taylor Made Construction over for a second project. Our first project was a complete kitchen remodel and loved every moment of the design. The second project, just completed, was for a bathroom remodel. Our house was built in 1930 and we wanted it to reflect that period, with a modern touch. We are not disappointed. The TM staff continued to hit all the marks for us and they also continued to be helpful when we would make a small change during the process. They kept us in the loop and we could not be happier. Highly recommended. Thanks Melissa; thanks Alex! NOTE: This project, as well as the kitchen remodel was done in Placerville. I have no idea how Kelsy appeared)

Two story deck with new roof and custom slider on the right. Smaller deck and staircase on the left.

After a few weeks of research and a couple quotes, we called Taylor Made and Andrew came out to hear our grand vision for a two story deck with a roof, a separate deck/staircase, and several external doors, including a custom slider. Andrew's exceptional mustache gave us an immediate sense of confidence and we knew we'd found the right company for the job. Sadly, that mustache is now gone, but our confidence remains nonetheless. Let me start by saying the work done by TMC's crews is outstanding, as in better than I imagined. If you want something done as cheaply as possible that won't last or add beauty and value to your home, look elsewhere. These folks are quintessential professionals. Set your expectations high for the final product and you won't be disappointed. Do set your timeline expectations realistically however - proper engineering and permitting take time so don't expect them to be rushed, but once TMC unleashed Johnny, Mikey, Eddie, Kevin, and a host of other amazing deck and door artists on my project, there was steady progress. Weather occasionally slowed things down, but only when it was clearly necessary. Progress was never rushed at the expense of quality either. Sincerely, Johnny's attention to detail is so impressive that I want him to do my next shoulder surgery. Or tattoo. Maybe both. Was everything perfect right away? No, of course not but it was close, and this is where TMC shines the brightest - their entire crew listens to their customers and refuses to just shrug their shoulders if something isn't exactly right. Everyone on site and everyone in the office handling planning and payments, like Rachel, Ricky, Chelsea, and especially Melissa didn't ever (seem to, at least) tire of hearing from me with questions or requests for information. To a person, everyone at TMC is clearly focused on making absolutely certain that the reality of their work meets (or in my case exceeds) their customers' expectations and vision. TLDR: TMC is a group of professionals who create beautiful work, are communicative, provide nonstop, sincere customer care, and are worth every penny and more.

After a house fire impacted our deck and interior we were beyond stressed and wondering where to turn. Thankfully a neighbor gave us TMC's name. From our first call to the project end we could not be more grateful and pleased with our experience. The front office, project manager Andrew, and their skilled staff were all professional, kind, communicative, and delivered us a quality result! Thank you TMC we love our new deck!!!! You guys are awesome!!!

We contacted Taylor Made to handle the remodel of our downstairs that included the kitchen and living/dining room combo. Our house is about 18 years old and still had all the builder-grade cabinets and counters. It now looks like a completely different home! They did a fantastic job!! They stayed within our budget. They stayed on the timeline provided. Showed up when they said. Kept the place clean at the end of each construction day. Always kept us up to date on what work would be done when. We had the pleasure of working with Steve initially and then Steve handed over the reins to Alex who was a rock star!! And I can't thank Rachel in the office enough for keeping the communication open and always getting back to us immediately. Will definitely use them for any future project!

When we bought the house the deck was in such poor shape we were afraid to use it. Steve totally reconstructed the deck and expanded it to what it is today, one of the best features of the house. We love entertaining on it and just enjoying it in the evening. The second project was a complete remodel of the downstairs. Our kitchen was tiny and very outdated to the point it was not very functional. There was no counter or cabinet space and the refrigerator took up half the kitchen. He took our pantry, which was pretty big, and made half of it an alcove for a new decent sized refrigerator and still had half of the pantry with a pocket door. He had new custom cabinets built and a custom buffet to match. The counters now have granite counter tops. He remodeled the bathroom and replaced our plain old doors with beautiful pine doors. We had him install new hickory wood floors and installed wood beams to match the ones already there to accommodate a new chandelier. One of the most impressive projects was installing a 12 ft. sliding glass door, where a single door and two windows were. It opens up onto our beautiful deck. Steve was extremely professional and we could not have had a better experience. He made sure that everything was done to perfection and most importantly to our expectations. We will be calling on Steve to do more projects in the future. We highly recommend Aasen Construction to anyone who has expectations as high as ours. Steve is one of the nicest guys we know and consider him now a friend. Thanks Steve

Steve was awesome to work with. He has done a couple jobs for us. One was framing and sheetrock…read more It was the best sheetrock job we have ever seen done. The crew was very meticulous, even finishing it off with a bead of caulk on the ceiling inside corners. Since I was the one painting it, I can say that this made it so much easier to paint! Steve and his crew were completely professional, they did a great job cleaning up afterwards, and were sure to take care of all the little details. We also used Steve for a tile backsplash in the kitchen, and that turned out fantastic. Again we saw the attention to detail that makes it obvious Steve has a passion for what he does. He laid out the different tiles and set aside tiles whose pattern didn't quite match the layout he was doing, or that had somewhat chipped edges. We also changed some things last minute and Steve rolled right along with it. We love how the backsplash turned out. Knowing that Steve will put as much care or even more into the projects as I would myself gave me a huge peace of mind. I would definitely have no hesitation in calling Steve back for another project.

It would be very difficult to give an accurate estimate that way because there's a lot of dry rot underneath the steps which needed to be inspected in-person. R&B Framing was the only company which showed up to take a look at the steps. Two days later, Jose Cedillo emailed me an estimate and thoroughly answered my questions. His company uses Redwood or cedar wood for Victorian homes, though cedar does cost extra. We were surprised by how fast his crew finished the job. They showed up on April 9th, early in the morning and worked until the evening. They arrived the next day to finish the rest of the steps and the banisters. He also painted the banisters according to the original white creme color. If it's a legacy house, they'll stick to the originality of the Victorian architecture. (Per building code regulations, when a house is considered a legacy house the paint must be the original--or close to the original color--of when the house was first built.)

Using the existing substructure that was still viable, they built this beautiful redwood deck and used a stain that we selected. All boards were stained on all sides prior to construction and protective tape was applied to the substructure so that there was no wood to wood contact. All joints were tight and gaps were consistent. Workers were polite and pleasant and on time and cleaned up after themselves . Great job!!! Highly recommended!
