I get my nails done at the salon a few doors from Charlie's Kabob's, and have been wanting to check them out. I went for dinner on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. There were a few families there dining when I arrived, and a couple of people in front of me. A lot of people arrived after I did. Charlie's Kabob's is very spacious, there's plenty of seating inside and some outside. It's a very welcoming atmosphere and the staff was pretty friendly. I ordered the lamb kabob platter, and chose my side as spanakopita. It comes with pita and tzatziki. The food is made to order, which is great. There was kind of a wait, but I don't mind when it's made to order. I opted to dine in, so they brought my food to me. The presentation was ok. I was super excited to try the food. It wasn't love at first bite for me. The spanakopita was too greasy, but it would have potential if it was less greasy. The lamb was a bit tough, but was seasoned well. The tzatziki was perfect. On to the desserts. I absolutely love baklava and order it almost always at Mediterranean restaurants. It would've been delicious if it didn't have the stale refrigerator taste. The Greek donuts were good although a little over fried. Overall, I didn't love my meal as I hoped for. But I'd definitely give them another chance in a weekday.

charlie's kabob I was in Wake Forest and craving some mediterranean food, so Charlie's Kabob seemed like the perfect place to grab dinner to-go. I ordered around noon for pickup at 6:15 and my order was ready right on time. I definitely ordered too much food - the portion sizes are very fitting to the price. The greek salad came with tzatziki, tahini, and a spicy dressing on the side, which was creamy, perfectly spicy, and delicious in the salad. The salad was still fresh and crunchy lettuce leaves by the time we got home and ate it. The classic gyro was a solid take on a gyro, with the meat juicy and tender and the right amount of tzatziki to add that creaminess. The kafta kabob was seasoned perfectly - maybe a little dry but delicious when dipped in tzatziki. The chickpea salad was also seasoned nicely and made for a good, refreshing side. I also ordered a chicken kabob (not realizing how much food there already was in the order) and this was cooked and seasoned nicely as well, with good grill flavor. Lastly, ordering online came with a free dessert and they gave us greek donuts! These were delicious fried pastry balls covered in a yummy cinnamon sugar and cinnamon sauce. Overall this is a solid place for quick, mediterranean cuisine! Service and food were everything I could ask for from a fast casual Mediterranean place.

Recommended place if you are hungry and craving Mediterranean cuisine. I ordered the veggie platter for takeout online. I was not sure by using the online ordering system if and how much falafel and pita it came with. Therefore as my sides I chose falafel, tabouli, and baklava and then paid extra for hummus and pita. As a result, I could not finish it all in one sitting - but it wasn't quite two servings. The falafel and tabouli were the stars of the show. The falafel had a great flavor and texture. The tabouli was also packed with flavor. The baklava was okay, too greasy and tough for my taste. The texture of the pita was ideal, however, it was cut up too small to hold anything. Pros: - Reasonable prices - Adequate portions - smaller than comparable restaurants, but enough to fill you up. - Fresh vegetables and herbs - Carryout and dine-in options available - Online ordering quick and easy - They offer whole wheat pita Cons: - Parking can be tricky if you go at a busy time

This Kabob shop is in a small shopping plaza and you may miss it if you didn't know it was there. Stopped for our first time this week for takeout after hearing about this place in a local moms group. Ordering by phone was quick and easy, the staff member was nice and able to answer all questions. The food was ready on time. Back at the house we found all of our meals to be the appropriate temperature for each dish, fresh and super tasty!!! We loved everything we ordered! Our options were the lamb kabob plate, small greek salad, taziki with pita, hummus and pita and the gyro meat super bowl. This will easily become one of our new favorites!!

This was our first visit and we will come back. The food was fresh and warm. We won't eat in restaurants so we pick things up. The food was almost ready when we got there, and it was so fresh. We both had Hercules Gyro, and my husband had fries and I had side Greek salad. Everything was so good! We will be back.

Typically, the service and food here is delightful. But today, the service took a deep dive. I called to place an order for pickup, the lady who answered asked me to hold on and proceeded to talk to a coworker before hanging up on me. When I called back, a young man answered the phone. When I indicated I'd been hung up on, no apology was offered and he just proceeded to ask what I wanted to order. I provided my order a bomb platter, a chicken kabob kids tray, and an additional steak kabob. I had to ask what time the order would be ready. And was told 12:30. When I arrived at the restaurant at 12:30, I approached the counter and the unfriendly woman who had previously hung up on me told me you'll need to wait a few minutes, they're still packing your order. I'm standing at the register for 5 minutes with no attempts from her to ring me up. When they approach her with my packaged meals she gives me the total ~$26. I pay and then she lists my order afterwards. A bomb platter and two kids kabob meals. I indicated that this was not correct, that it should have been one kids tray with an additional kabob. She proceeds to roll her eyes, rudely. I'm not certain whether it was directed at me or the young man who took the order. She then restated the issue in a tone as if I was annoying her, by them getting my order wrong! She finally says, well they're the same price... an additional kabob and the kids kabob tray. (I'm not certain that is true...) I just left because I was disgusted with the attitude. She needs an attitude adjustment, fast. This is a horrible decline to a business that has always had kind, efficient employees.

    The Troy, with fried.

Stopped in for lunch at Charlie's. Excellent Mediterranean-style fast casual food. It's a varied menu with a wide variety of choices. You order at the counter, they bring the food to the table. There are about a dozen tables, plus a few outside. There's also a small market on one side where a variety of exotic sounding foodstuffs are available. I had the Troy, one of several pita combinations. The Troy is a generous portion of bite sized chunks of sirloin, garnished with diced tomatoes, fresh lettuce and topped with tzatziki sauce, all wrapped in a warm pita. The sirloin was great - very tender, medium rare, and cut into pieces small enough for one bite. The veggies are fresh and the store-made tzatziki creamy and delicious. I had a side order of fries as well.... Standard frozen fries but cooked nice and crispy, perfect for dipping in ketchup. The tab was $10.50, pushed to the expensive side by the $2.50 fries. The meal was delicious, as it always is, and the team is friendly and efficient. Recommended.

"Consistency Matters"…read more The food is delish, let's start there. This hasn't been on my bingo card for a while and boo hoo! The garden pizzette and chicken shawarma are fan favorites for a reason. Chicken Shawarma is a (IMO) well seasoned cinnamon forward profile that delivers a tender chew. Don't let the cinnamon description deter you. The flavor is complex, savory, and very good! The garden pizzette is delicious. The perfect mixup of feta, mint, tomato, and cucumber...Chef's Kiss (dip in hummus and/or tzatziki for that extra, extra added flavor). We also loved the tzatziki/lebnah sauce. Perfect balance for our Americanized palate. My biggest complaint, would be consistency. I ordered twice in one week. Each meal was delicious, but noticeable different. Not a huge factor, but one I thought worth mentioning. Bread was whole wheat ... cool/ not a problem .. but also not my preference. All in all, a darn good meal! Sold side options. Fast casual Mediterranean/Lebanese : 4.5

I was going to be closer to the Raleigh location this past month so I decided to go to the Raleigh location and see if they could do the same as cary. I went in and asked a young man he said that should not be a problem for me to put in my catering orders and then have my payment done a certain way at the register, as they usually do, in cary. I placed my order and got to the register and then the very nice girl that was there was going to ring me up. She wasn't sure how to manually enter my credit card information that I needed to give, so she asked what I'm going to assume was her manager or whoever was in charge that day? The woman turned around and looked at me as if I walked in and started in her face. Her face was so disgusted, twisted up, and snarled with disapproval. She asked me, with a huge attitude, "what was going on here?". I politely explained the situation, which is that, at the Cary location our company pays over the phone when I arrive. I handed her the phone to give her the credit card information and she was speaking to my boss (who is a very world-renowned doctor) about the payment info. She was so rude to him and said "well usually we don't do this but we'll do it this time". I informed her that from now on, since it was such a problem we will gladly go to the other location or just another restaurant in general. The younger people at the register were extremely friendly and polite and really made this experience the most positive thing from this whole trip to this location. As I was leaving the female who had the attitude earlier did say that she " was sorry, and that she just didn't know what she was walking into". At this point, I really did not care about an I'm sorry, because I will never go back to this location. I don't care who or what she is, but if she doesn't know what she's walking into, then the best idea for her(if she had any business or common sense)would be to approach it in a professional manner and not with a stank attitude. I have worked in doing catering sales, amahing businesses, throwing events, and ordering multiple catering orders for other businesses that I run. I have never and would never, approach anyone like this if I was uncertain of any situation. It puts a really bad look on their whole concept. I have already talked to multiple people about this and told all the physicians that I work with. I have also discussed this encounter with other people who do multiple orders for catering and other event networking groups. I will never be ordering from this location again. I hope whatever they do, they get it right, and start hiring people who appreciate having a job, to make sure that no one else feels so turned off by someone like this. I'm only giving a two stars for the Friends League kids that were at the counter and at the cash register

We ordered the grape leaves, baklava, namoora and tabbouli. I am Lebanese and these are staples in our home. The grape leaves were extremely dry and tough. The rice was very undercooked and the leaves themselves were so dry and tough we could barely chew through them. We ordered 12 and thought maybe it was a fluke but all 12 were completely inedible and we threw them out immediately. The baklava was okay, nothing to write home about. Very simple syrup forward and you couldn't taste much else (we ordered the walnut). The namoora was stale. Very dry. Namoora should melt in your mouth with with a slight chew. This was again, tough and stale. We threw those out as well. Lastly, our favorite salad, tabbouli. The lemon taste was nonexistent. The parsley wasn't chopped fine as Tabbouli should be. It was a watery mess. Overall, we won't be back. We spent over $75 on 4 items and left feeling hungry and bamboozled. But what first appeared as a Lebanese "health food, vegan, vegetarian" restaurant even though they had some meat dishes -- turned into one of the favorite restaurants of my life! I think they made up for all the "healthy" stuff by having freshly made cakes to indulge after a good meal.
