Andy's 5 Star Flooring - Setting up the new showroom

I have a background in corporate vendor management specifically within trades, and a strong preference for spending money with local business. I eliminated two of the options based on a lack of response or follow-up to my inquiries, leaving two where I focused on quality of product, price, and installation. In the end, Andy's was able to provide a 15% better price for the exact same product, pad, and installation options. Installation took two days, the installers were wonderful people. Family and I couldn't be happier. I'll certainly recommend Andy's to my friends.

We went to Andy's 5 Star Flooring in Bothell due to a recommendation from a friend after a failed…read moreattempt for a quote with one of the big box stores. Our job was replacing flooring on the top floor of a split level that included removing tile in the entry and kitchen. We knew our flooring under the carpet was subpar from the carpet install 24 years prior and we expressed this to the salesman from Andy's several times. He assured us they could fix it. The measure, product choices and quote all went smoothly and we had an install date set for 1 month out in October. We started moving furniture downstairs in preparation. The day before the product delivery the sales rep from Andy's told us that it had not arrived. We were given a new install date in November but when the date arrived, same story. Now our install date was early December. The Sales Rep from Andy's apologized and added free furniture move due to the delays so we left our 4 pieces of leather furniture upstairs. Again, no product and install was set for Monday after Christmas. The initial install attempts had been scheduled for a 4 day install but this one was only for 3 and during a holiday week. On day of install, crew didn't show up until after 10am and left about 5pm. The install crew was short one person and had forgotten the tool to remove tile. Someone delivered it several hours later. Removing the tile created tons of dust. None of our furniture, countertops or appliances were covered. The installer complained constantly about our floor level and that he didn't have enough time to do a good job although the crew were very seldom here for a full 8 hours. The 3rd day they left at 4pm as it was New Year's Eve. They had to come back New Year's Day to complete the install. Bottom line we are happy with the final product result. We don't know if the problems of material delivery were in fact the product company or Andy's incompetence. We will place the problems with install on Andy's as they did not give the installers adequate time to do a good job. Especially during a holiday week. We were left with a HUGE mess to clean up with tile dust thick on our furniture, walls, appliances, kitchen, etc. Our free furniture moving for compensation was not performed. We also had to have the installer come back later to clean up glue that was smeared on the new flooring. Although the Andy's rep was communicative and easy to reach, I would not recommend Andy's.

Now, we bought some really good carpet - it is 2x as thick, dense, soft, and plush as others we were thinking of for less money. We have had it for 4 years now - my boy has gone through his 2's and 3's and 4's on this carpet, and we do not have a single stain. Everything comes off of it! This stuff is a joy to walk on, lay on, play on, and vacuum. If you talk to Greg, listen to the differences in the way his carpet is made versus the others. He gave us so many details that have come true. When we installed it and used the vacuum, there weren't any ends that broke off and filled the bag - none. Other new carpets shed for months as the fibers break off where they try to make it feel soft. You honestly get what you pay for, but carpet is expensive to replace. Want to talk about compliments? People love our carpet - we refer all of our friends there before they make a huge mistake. His installer is a guy he knows - you can use him or not...he's not a subcontractor like the other stores use. Anyway, we went back and bought an inflatable foam bed from Greg a year later...it is great also. He can make it how you like it. The pump stopped working after a year - it shorted out - and he replaced it in 2 days! Worked for over 2 years now without a problem. We are building a new house again, and, you bet we are going back to Greg...he told us that the price of our beloved carpet actually dropped, and he is passing the savings on to us rather than keeping it! He has discounts for cash, and takes my call everytime I call him - I shop locally when I can for that reason. His shop is an asset to Woodinville.

As a homeowner, I couldn't be happier with the experience and highly recommend them. Vitaliy was excellent to work with throughout the process. He communicated openly about costs, risks, and timelines. His initial quote was the most thorough and detailed among all the bids we received (e.g. including a potential subfloor leveling cost range upfront to avoid surprises later on). He was also open to incorporating a written addendum I provided alongside the standard contract so that all project expectations were clearly documented from the start. When a supplier mistake from Shaw Floors delayed materials and forced my family into a longer Airbnb stay, Vitaliy stepped up and helped cover the ~$1,500 extra cost. That meant a lot to us. The crew treated our home with respect, the floors look beautiful, and throughout the project I felt I could truly trust Vitaliy and David's Flooring. I would absolutely use them again and recommend them to other homeowners for flooring work.

They gave me a ball park price, and directed me to the showroom. I wanted flooring that matched the other room of the house. I was provided with samples (kind of large slabs), and was free to bring back the samples whenever it was convenient to me. Overall, they were relaxing to work with and not pushy at all. I made the date for them to come to rip the carpet out, and install the flooring. They were able to complete one room in one day. My request was finished within 3 weeks of contacting David's flooring. The additional great thing is that since my floor was already pretty level, the need to level out my flooring was cleared out of my invoice. So, they gave really great estimates. There were no hidden fees or surprises when I worked with them. Overall, that room was about 2k. The convenience and quickness was really worth it to me. Additionally, they removed and reinstall the baseboards which makes the finish much more professional look.
