The staff member who helped us was fantastic- I'm so sorry I forgot her name, but she was so patient and knowledgeable. She helped me narrow down a mix of teas based on my flavor profile, and I walked out with a large bag of Jade Oolong and a canister of Osmanthus. It is so rare to find Osmanthus sold on its own, so that was a huge win for me! Beyond the tea, their selection of teaware is stunning. The owner, Leo, is a tea savant and provides outstanding customer service. I had such an incredible experience at our tea tasting with Leo! We sampled a selection of white, green, oolong, black, and pu-erh teas and learned more about the differences between each kind, how these teas are sourced, and the cultural significance of each kind. Leo was a fantastic guide through the experience. The teas themselves tasted clearly high quality - better than all of the loose leaf tea I've bought from the Asian supermarket and MUCH better than any boxed or bagged tea you'd get at the American grocery stores. This business used to be a cafe-type shop. They don't sell made to order drinks anymore. They now sell tea ware and tea by the ounce. They also offer a tea tasting experience by appointment only. We had a private tea tasting with Leo, it was such a lovely experience. I highly recommend for tea lovers. The private tea experience is informative, exciting, fascinating, unique, fun, relaxing, tasty and delicious. The setup has such a calming vibe. The chill music, dim lights, and special tea table with the trickling water feature. Loved the little totoro and no face at the table, added such whimsical fun. Any studio ghibli lovers will find joy in seeing them. It was so fun to be able to see and taste so many premium quality teas. Each with their own distinct flavors and characteristics. This place has moved! It's no longer at Henderson next to OrangeTheory and Buffalo Wild Wings and all that, it's now near Spring Mountain nestled in between random financial and medical buildings. It's hard to find and you're gonna think you're at the wrong place but park in front of the dental office and follow the building numbers. You'll find the small discreet Tea and Whisk sign and small black door. It's a much more quiet area, suitable for tea tasting and buying. It is beautiful and dreamy with water flowing, small tea toys sat around...almost looks like miniature river scene. Owner and tea lover Leo will pour you variety of teas and share his deep knowledge from tea cups to how to select the great teas. We discussed and shared after each sip. This tea place is LEGIT, and I love having a real tea spot in Vegas. While there are many great boba spots in the valley, this is the place to go if you want to try top tier loose-leaf tea. They've got you covered on all types of tea no matter your preference - black, white, green, pu-erh .. and even lots of flavored. And if you're not sure where to start, the owner, Leo, is super knowledgable. If you're one of those people that has tried tea and thinks they don't like it, I highly recommend you visit and give it another go. Chances are, you just haven't been trying high quality tea like this. They also have an impressive selection of teaware, too, so you can find the right vessel for you. If you don't feel comfortable venturing out, they've also built up their online shop to where you can order online. You can either pick up the tea in person, or have it shipped to the house. I actually feel like writing a review for once while running on 2 hours of sleep, so here's An Update, since this is for the newest location in Spring Mountain and we were graced with the pleasure of attending Leo's Tea Experiences for my birthday. Each tea experience is unique in its own way and lasts for about 2 hours or more. To call this a hidden gem would be an understatement. Do be aware that ingesting tea, especially for more than an hour, will dehydrate you - expect to be hungry afterwards. You are provided with a small plate of Korean mochi cakes to curb your appetite for a bit. It can be quite flavorless though because the whole point is for you to take in each tea flavor of different tea leaves. To savour with the senses is definitely tricky here since most are used to indulging in the flavors and taste of tea. Leo's tea experiences are made with the intent that you come in not only with curiosity and excitement, but with the notion of an open mind for learning different teas outside of your comfort zone. Upon sitting down, you are greeted with a gorgeous handcrafted tea table with a built-in river flowing in it. Tea statues that change colour when you pour hot water over it, flora and bowls that flow through the circular river, and small Ghibli characters displayed throughout the oriental centre of the table. You are educated while taste-testing a plethora of different teas-- white tea (white peony), Nepalese green tea from the Himayalas, Japanese Miyazaki sencha tea, high mountain oolong, Phoenix oolong (aka ancient "duckshit" oolong, Meijang rock oolong , Premium quality jinjunmei black tea, puer tea, jasmine tea, and finished off with the Fireball black tea. There will be 2 blind tastings in which he will test out to see what you learned within the session. On the first round as a group we lost, but the second one I came out victoriously alone haha. Insert shameless yet obnoxious anime villainess laughter here. If you listen carefully, perhaps you can tell the differences between teas that are acidic or bitter, what's fermented or considered pungent, or the rare case of which tea will actually make you drunk. The takeaway here is to embrace bitterness, but in tea form. It's not as easy as it seems but if you can spot the difference perhaps you'll reach enlightenment and a state of equilibrium. For the flavour frenzied (and those who aren't into bitter teas), I'd probably suggest to try the Fireball tea. You'll definitely leave with amusement. Came in with wonder and left with a newfound appreciation for tea tastings (and a bag of dark roasted iron goddess oolong). Will definitely come back again when another special occasion calls for it. I also cannot wait for the interior setup to expand with more decor and displays for the ambiance. You'll probably have to wait another year though, since Leo likes to take his time with decorating his majestic tea palace. read more

A nice quiet spot located in a strip mall. We came in the middle of a tea tasting event. And was able to try quite a few different varieties. Reminded me of Beijing when they want you to like the most expensive teas so that they can maximize on profit. :-) It was a fun experience to watch and we ordered a couple teas to go, one was a sea salt latte chai tea and the other was a classic milk tea with Japanese style pearls (similar to boba but made with different ingredients). This little shop has gone through several make overs since it opened. Going in today I was greeted with the meandering notes of jazz music, and the mellow pace of the music fit the vibe of the shop. They have some of their teas out on display, but they also have a tea catalog that lists their full offerings. There are also tea supplies sold to up your tea time game. If you are interested in sampling items they are happy to give you a taste, and the teas are sold by the ounce. They have a fancy tea bar where they do this at, and you can also order tea infused beverages made to order. I got the rose peach sea salt cream cold late with lychee jelly. I told the super nice guy assisting me (I believe his name was Zade) most places make the rose drinks to sweet, and he was able to strike the perfect balance for me. He even had offered to mix in a special black tea rose blend if I was afraid of it being to sweet, but the ratios he had made didn't make me feel it would be nessisary. He was sadly almost out of the loose tea I had come in for, but he was so kind and gave me a sample of another tea to take home and try upon checkout. They really take time to build the customer relationship, which is rare these days. They have multiple options for their milk teas soy milk, almond milk, cream, milk. They also have high level matcha blends. It's a unique spot where you can have your boba drinks, but on a whole new level, and also take some special finds home with you. Such a cute shop! I love teas of all varieties and temperatures, and they have an amazing assortment that I can't wait to continue trying! Today I went with an iced lavender dream latte. It was refreshing and pretty milky, but not overly so. I could definitely taste a bit of jasmine and the lavender taste stuck out beautifully. Do keep in mind that they steep the tea to order, so it will be a few minutes (but is completely worth the wait). There are so many options, you should vaguely have in mind what kind of tea you're looking for, be it hot or iced, black or green, latte style, or matcha or you will be overwhelmed by the choices. I was surprised to learn that they do classes and socials, which are definitely things that I'm hoping to check out in the future. I am also a fan of the punch card so that was a big plus as well. They also sell an assortment of mugs, teas, and teapots, so if you're looking for a gift or for something to brew at home, they have it. Mood - loose leaf hot tea Upon entering was greeted with great customer service. Was given a menu to decide which tea service we were interested in. Opted for the Lavender Dream and Tongmu Lapsang Souchong. Can we say Wow!!!! The flavors were completely different and mesmerizing at the same time. When the tea service was brought out, we were given instructions on how to use the all of the implements to make wonderful cups of tea. We were given a brief history of the tea and the origins. Interior is a couple of tables, plus a couple of couches. When you order the tea service, your given a electronic hot water pot, tray, tea pot, strainer, and cups. Depending on the type of tea you order depends on how long the tea itself will last. Each lasts a minimum of 4 uses, and steeps to perfection within 15- 20 seconds. Yes you read that right. This whole tea lounge concept for me was brilliant. It is a way to truly enjoy those that your with, as your steeping your own cups of tea, and just investing time opposed to having someone else do it for you. They offer classes, groups, and proper tea enthusiasts items for sale, along with several loose leaf teas. Be it traditional or wellness, or just because. If you really love pure, unadorned tea or want to become such a tea drinker, then this is your spot. If you have a sweet tooth and don't mind tea, then this is also your spot. Before I wax poetic about Tea and Whisk, I have to take a moment to state how awesome the stretch of Eastern Avenue south of 215 has become. There are plenty of new, casual eats, but I love how it's now the true mecca of tea in the Las Vegas area. Tea and Whisk is a key figure in the tea revolution. I actually stopped by last year when they first opened . At the time, they were selling a wide variety of loose leaf teas as well as kitchen tools (mostly tea-related) and some tea-friendly pre-packaged snacks. From my understanding, they did make teas for immediate consumption, but that wasn't a highly developed part of the business. I wasn't sure what to make of the whole thing, so I shrugged and left, resolving to return some day when I had more time. Recently, I'd heard that they'd added a tea bar an extensive menu of drinks which they make right away, which is really the kind of thing I was looking for. As owner Leo explains, they can really make anything from their wide variety of teas. The printed menu alone has a wide variety of teas, including milk teas, lattes, unflavored and flavored matcha teas, hibiscus teas, and herbal "wellness" teas. It's not a true "boba" place due to lack of tapioca pearls, but it has plenty of elements familiar to those in tune with the bubble tea trend, including milk teas, cream toppings, and even some edible add-ons. For more traditional drinkers, they offer hot teas to-go, matcha bowls priced by grade of matcha, and steep-and-pour-it-yourself "tea experiences" with two price tiers depending on the per-ounce cost of the teas. They also freely offer samples to anyone, doing multiple steeps and multiple leaves several times even for brand-new, prospective customers. The tasting alone can be a relaxing way to pass the time, and it's a very welcome method of finding one or more new teas to enjoy. Whether you know your exact preferences or you're less experienced, this is a huge plus. Some of my favorites from sampling are Phoenix Oolong and Blue People Oolong. The latter is an interesting variety with an herbal note or two, and both have a "sweet" aftertaste/sensation even though they're unsweetened. I've heard that this is a hallmark of great teas, so I was pleased to experience it, and I even picked up a large cold ("iced" but very light on ice) Phoenix Oolong for $6.79 for 32 oz. Obviously that looks more expensive than most places, but it was worth it, especially after I poured it out into two cups so that I could have two helpings that are equal in volume with the "regular" or "small" size of most tea bars, but higher in quality than most if not all. I've also had the Royal Matcha Latte ($6.99 at the time, looks like $7.29 now) with a coconut latte foam (didn't get onto the receipt, but seems to be $0.50 on top usually). This was after a side-by-side matcha tasting, prompted by a mention of a nearby matcha tea bar (which is actually supplied by this shop in the form of the lowest/cheapest grade of the 5 here, then the 3rd highest). The lowest grade actually tastes very unpleasant side-by-side with the highest, and I ended up getting the highest grade, which was very low in bitterness and enjoyable even with barely any sweetener. I did mention that you could be happy here with a sweet tooth. They have these "shakes" topped with "clouds," the former of which isn't thick at all but rather a blended, sweet drink, and the latter of which is a thick cream on which multicolored mochi (sweet, soft rice cylinders) are "floating." I'm not sure of the full price because I've had them for $3.99 tops on Matcha Monday (check web site and Facebook for a full calendar of special deals), but all flavors are pretty awesome: matcha pistachio, matcha w/ genmaicha, hojicha, and even matcha with red bean. If you like those flavors in ice cream, then try these shakes. The mochi are also a fun, atypical treat, even if don't actually fit through wide straws as easily as the more ubiquitous boba. Some words of caution: this isn't this business's fault, but the plaza gets pretty crowded, and one particular Italian restaurant has very recently become a selfish parking hog due to offering "complimentary valet." Try off-peak hours if you can. Also, on the rare occasions where the owner is away, I'm not 100% confident in his employees. Finally, the milk teas and sea salt cream feel subpar or at best a work in progress, so ask to sample those before committing. That said, I don't need another bubble tea / milk tea shop. Tea and Whisk is ideal for the rest of my tea desires, now that they have evolved from a "tea supply" shop into an all-purpose tea shop with a very accessible menu of drinks for immediate consumption. It must be tried by anyone from tea connoisseurs/purists to anyone who enjoys sugary drinks. read more

When I saw this place, especially being as close as it was to me, I was really excited. I have been here twice and both times I have walked away extremely happy. Both times I have been treated with the utmost respect despite my ignorance on the subject and my many questions. The staff here are extremely courteous and really take their time with you, helping you select, taste, and explain each and every tea to you so you walk away satisfied. There is literally something here for everybody! There are so many different varieties and flavors here that it can be a little overwhelming and hard to choose. Luckily there is also a price point for everybody! Low, high, really high and everywhere in between. Every time I'm in the Vegas area, I always make it a point to come here. Tea and Whisk is one of my favorite tea shops EVER. The staff is so lovely! The owner is always available to help out with your purchase and gives you recommendations based on things you'd like to purchase. We were planning on buying a pu'erh tea but he ended up making a sample of another pu'erh tea for us to try. He explained to is the differences between the two. He's clearly very knowledgeable and loves tea. The drinks are out of this world! They might be a little expensive but you're getting quality tea and an amazing experience. I got matcha milk tea at 25% sweet and everything accentuates the matcha perfectly. My friends got matcha milkshakes, houjicha vanilla milkshake and loved them as well! The hot lavender tea is amazing as well. I didn't taste it but the smell is out of this world. If you love tea, please take the time to check this place out! You won't regret it. read more
