The countertops were spotless and with no stools or seating it's easy to see why. The place is profoundly busy and tiny, so there isn't really room to host a bunch of people. Even their employees must not have a break room, so they sit in a roped off area at a little table with their back to the customers for added privacy. It's really not private though. I heard my name called and I scooped up my cup of green delight. Oh I do adore warm boba. The cool creamy honeydew sweetness enveloped the chewy anise pearls and it was a decadent treat I absolutely savored. I didn't feel rushed and I lingered just a bit while I enjoyed my honeydew boba. But recently, it's been consistently bad. I've been getting watery tea, and I always request for less cream (more tea base). The quality has stayed consistent all these years, which is why I keep coming back. One thing I really appreciate is their loyalty rewards program. It actually pays off! I redeemed a free large drink, and it's nice to see a business rewarding loyal customers instead of constantly chasing new ones. Tra Viet is located on the 2nd floor of the Venetian in the canal shops. If you take the escalator by the food court and then head to the shops, it'll be right there. It's a super tiny place. They have 3 kiosks you can order from. There was one person working the counter that could also take the order. I love coffee and I've never had Vietnamese coffee before, so I was super excited to try this. I went with the classic Viet. If you can make a normal coffee well, it's going to be a winner in my book. It was sweetened with condensed milk, which made it unique and absolutely delicious. Smooth coffee flavor and not too overly sweet. Came in a cool can that was mixed by a machine before serving. Only wish I had, was that I could pop the top off and get the very last of the coffee from the bottom. The ice blocked it. My husband got the jasmine milk tea and said it was fantastic as well. I'm never happy about the prices in Vegas but it is what it is. For $9 a pop, it was worth it. Next time we're in Vegas this will be our first stop for coffee. Can't wait to try all the flavors.

What turned a bad drink into a bad experience was the response. I brought it back to the counter and asked if it could be diluted with a little more milk. No. I asked if it could be remade with less sugar. Also no. What I got instead was, "I made the drink so I know it's less sweet, and it's just how it tastes." No apology, no alternative, no interest in the fact that the customer standing there was telling them the drink didn't work. The whole exchange was uncomfortable and came across as dismissive. Whether the recipe was followed correctly isn't really the point. If "less sweet" still lands sweeter than Starbucks, the setting needs recalibrating, and telling a customer that's just how it tastes isn't an answer, it's the end of the conversation. Two suggestions: figure out what "less sweet" should actually mean on this drink, and give staff the latitude to fix it graciously when an order misses the mark. Ambiance of the shop is nice, but how can it not be nice when it's at the Venetian shops right?
