I had a great time at tea by two! I'd never been to a tea room before so I wasn't sure what to expect but it was amazing. The service was very good. It was quite busy when we went but they were running a very efficient operation so we barely noticed. I really enjoy Russian tea so I got the Russian Caravan tea which was delicious. It was brewed perfectly; it had almost no bitterness and an incredible amount of flavor. Everyone in my party liked their tea as well. The food was also very good. I really liked the cucumber sandwiches and thought they were well plated The cups and saucers are also very pretty and well varied. My cup was a very regal grey on white transfer print with a silver rim but there were many different options such as a polychromatic floral print with a gold rim. They have lots of additional ceramic pieces on display which are very cool. Our food came on cobalt blue cut crystal plates which I think is a timelessly elegant style. In May, I visited Tea by Two with a guest. The food, atmosphere, and service were great! However, I was extremely disappointed to have lemon curd and clotted cream served in individual plastic "take-out" condiment containers. Visited here this morning. Had to make reservations quite a bit in advance but it was worth it. I had such a nice time. The atmosphere and vibe were comfortable and warm. The service was great. The staff were very friendly. They even accommodated a reservation change the week of to accommodate my godson who is in the military and who arrived as a surprise. We enjoyed our foods and tea. This is such a great place for girlfriends to meet. There is limited free parking in front but there is a free parking lot in the back. read more

We had a nice time at Tea by Two. The restaurant is located in what looks like a residential home. I liked how the window pane and walkway was lined with porcelain saucers for decoration. The air is filled with the tantalizing aroma of scones. There's a little shop with scone mixes, tea sets, and other cute trinkets just inside the entrance. The dining area is small but quite cute. I like how they put the menu under the glass tabletop, which allowed one to look at a real menu instead of scanning a QR code. They had a wide variety of teas to choose from. I also really liked that you could try additional teas with no extra cost. I tried the lavender mist tea then also sampled a fruity hibiscus one. The waitress and servers were all polite. There's no choice of scone but the one they offered - I think peach white chocolate? - was quite tasty although I couldn't quite appreciate any white chocolate. The tea sandwiches (cream cheese and cucumber on white bread then turkey on marble bread) and savory pastries were also good, just small. A bit like a nibble. We tried the soup of the day (lobster bisque), which was creamy and good though sans any lobster bits that I could appreciate. The main drawback (I'd take away half a star only if Yelp allowed that) is that it was absolutely frigid inside. To be fair, there's a warning on their website that they keep it cool for the servers who are wearing masks and to bring a sweater but it was uncomfortably cold even despite my cardigan. It was a little hard to enjoy the experience when I felt like I was evolving into a giant popsicle. Due to limited seating from COVID, there was no other table away from the window unit we could move to and they wouldn't allow us to open a window, which I get. Overall we had a nice experience. Do make reservations before you come as they only had about six tables open for seating. read more

A friend told me about this place and said we had to get reservations two months out which meant spending an hour trying to get through over the phone. Add to this out 1.5 hour drive each way and you get some pretty high expectations for tea lover. What a splendid experience. I was concerned to learn there would only be two tea options but that all went away after tasting them. We enjoyed North Pole Eggnog and Sugar Plum Fairy. Both were lovely but the Eggnog was my favorite - oh the aroma is heavenly. It smells sweeter than it is. It's a Rooibus- vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon). This just proves that quality exceeds quantity. The menu was superb and provided excellent value. This wasn't your standard menu. I was very impressed with the Beef Wellington. The turkey salad took me by surprise- I didn't expect it to be so delicious. I could have bought it by the tub for take-away. The highlight of our Tea service was the performance of the story Scrooge as told by his sister. The actress was phenomenal. She dressed for the period and transported us back in time. This was a perfect way to usher in the season. I'm looking forward to returning. FYI, if your reservation is less than for you will be seated with other guests. We really enjoyed our table mates. My sister and I brought our mom here for a surprise birthday lunch with a 12:30pm reservation on 2/22/20. We were seated immediately and received our menu's promptly. We had ordered The Windsor Tea lunch that served a leafy green salad with turkey salad on it. We ordered Purple Rain Green Tea and Cross My Heart Green Tea. I ordered their soup of the day, creamy chicken & Wild rice (DELICIOUS)! When we were done I ordered a scone with lemon curd (FABULOUS)! I can't wait to tell my church family about this spot as well as my daughters and granddaughters. We will be coming back. A dear friend treated me to a relaxing and delightful lunch at Tea by Two. It was so nice of her to introduce me to this charming restaurant. It was such a lovely place to enjoy lunch and tea. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Every morsel of lunch was delicious. We both decided to try The Savory, which included a slice of their quiche of the day alongside a salad of mixed greens with their house vinaigrette topped with dried cranberries and caramelized almonds. They had two quiches to choose from: broccoli and cheddar and spinach and Swiss. We decided that the spinach and Swiss was calling our names. We were not disappointed. It was beyond delicious with a crust that just melted in your mouth. The salad was crisp and fresh - the added cranberries and caramelized almonds and the vinaigrette just added to the flavor. I decided that I had to have a scone and tea. The scone of the day was a white chocolate cherry scone served with sweet cream and lemon curd. The scone was light and just yummy. I decided to be brave and go out of my comfort zone and try a totally different tea. I ordered the Monet, which was a delightful fruit blend of lemongrass, hibiscus, vanilla and lavender. It was pink in color and really delicious. The entire staff were so welcoming and attentive. It was so nice to see young Moms and Grandmothers bringing their daughters and sons to experience tea. read more

Brought my friend here this past weekend for a bday celebration. We were not disappointed! Lovely atmosphere! Clean. The food was yummy and fresh. The scones were warm out of the oven. Plenty of tea choices. One pot is about 3 cups and you are allowed a refill of the same or different flavor. More that enough tea. If tea isn't your thing, not to worry. Their lemonade looked great. Their store sells the tea they serve as well. Lots of parking. Easy to make a reservation, but they fill up fast! Tea by Two has been my favorite place to go when I want to treat myself or catch up with friends since it opened up. I am always greeted with friendly and attentive staff who at this point recognize me and treat me like a valued guest. The tea selection is amazing and I've never been disappointed with the flavor. They have the steeping process down! Never too strong or too weak. The salad is AMAZING! The desserts always delight, and I dream about those chocolate chip scones! One of the perks of their tea room is that the tea is unlimited and they accommodate with a smile if you want to switch up the flavors. I highly recommend mentioning if you're going in for a birthday celebration and want to add a little special surprise to the big day. They bring out a cupcake in a teacup(that you get to keep! yay!) with an icing rose and a candle on top! I'm a huge tea lover and I've received many gift cards to try out new tea rooms. This tea room is exactly what I envisioned when I booked a high tea for myself and 6 others for my birthday. The staff were SO friendly, the tea selection had great variety with something for everyone, and everything from the scones to the sandwiches to the treats and, of course, the tea, was delicious. What a joy to find a Tea Room still available! I went to so many of these places in my younger years. Now they, like my generation, are a vanishing breed. I hope this lovely restaurant stays successful for many years to come. So, the good: the best vinegrette style salad dressing I've ever had (so delicious that we bought 2 jars of it to bring home) My husband's quiche was top of the line too (Lorraine) The scone of the day (toffee) was wonderful and the whipped cream and lemon curd accompanying were equally great. I had 3 sandwiches: cucumber (yummy) egg salad (very good, and roast beef (not my favorite) The sweets were quite good. They have so many teas it makes your head spin. I always go for English Breakfast but hubby prefers Renoir. We also had an order to pick up for a party and everything was beautifully done and boxed perfectly. Our guests will be thrilled! I would have given this place 5 stars except for 2 (very easily resolved) problems: the service was painfully slow. For most tea patrons this is probably a plus since hanging out and socializing is part of the fun. But we were not in that category and found it-well, painful. The other is a real pet peeve of mine: spraying cleaning solution on tables while customers are eating. Do you not realize that the scent/taste of that chemical wafts to other tables and makes what you are eating gross? Why is this the modern way for restaurants to clean? Can't they just wipe tables like they used to? I REALLY hate it!!! Sorry about the venting...ok now I can be calm again... Went there to celebrate for Mothers day. Our reservation was at 11:30 we got there a little early we were told that our table was ready but couldn't be seated until it was 11:30. There were 4 of us just standing around in the little shop. I am vegetarian ordered the Hight tea. When the tray of food came out besides the desserts & scone I was given 2 little triangles (Quarter sandwich) of what was supposed to be cucumber and cream cheese. It was basically bread with hardly anything on it. Was charged full price for almost no food. We had multiple waitresses which we wernt sure who was actually ou waitress. I have been to Tea by Two for special occasions and also a small tea and scones lunch. Tea by Two does wonderful special events. I went to Tea by Two most recently for the Mother's Day tea. It was a special priced meal that included two teas, and the high tea selections of scones, little sandwiches and desserts. The Mother's Day tea included a blueberry scone with lemon curd and clotted cream. Amazing as always. The sandwiches were a pea and ricotta crostini, a ham and blueberry sandwich and a cucumber and mint sandwich. The crostini was a little bland, but everything else was very good. The desserts were panna cotta, strawberry biscuit and lime cake. The sandwiches and desserts are served on a tiered serving plate. A very nice presentation. The two teas selected for the lunch were both very good. One was decaf, one was not. The service is extremely attentive. The ladies who work there were always making sure we had enough tea or if we needed more lemon curd, etc. Tea by Two also has a great gift shop. I really like the feel of the tea room. It is an adorable old house and has been beautifully decorated. You can tell the women who run the tea room have put a lot of thought and planning into the design and coordinating of events. My favorite place to visit for a ladies date! Definitely spring for the "high tea" where you get cute mini sandwiches, desserts, soup or salad, and unlimited teas. My favorite teas are carnival ride and the seasonal blueberry muffin. There is a cute little store in the front. My only complaint is that while the staff is friendly, they can occasionally be slow and forgetful though they mean well (and I have been approximately 10 times now). This is a really interesting place to meet up and try out high tea. Keep in mind, if you're a picky eater, that most tea sandwiches contain mayonnaise, so you might be better off doing scones or a dessert option. I've been going to Tea by Two for several years now, along with my mother, sisters and occasionally my granddaughter. We've visited a lot of tea rooms all over MD and PA and Tea by Two is, hands down, our favorite. Afternoon tea is supposed to be a relaxing, enjoyable experience and that's exactly what it has been each and every time we've visited. The atmosphere is warming and inviting and the food is excellent...especially their soups and their scones (they are to die for). The service is top notch...they are always friendly, always accommodating, making sure we have everything we want and that our teapots are always full. It's cool for a one time experience if you wanna do something different but I wouldn't go back. I LOVE tea by two! It's probably my favorite place to eat in Bel Air. The second you walk into the adorable little tea shop, you can smell delicious scones and tea. The staff is always helpful and kind. I always get my favorite teas, Princess Katherine and Victoria and Albert. A few years back, me and my son started a kind of tradition where we'd go there right before Christmas. He loved it. The food is perfect and kid friendly for my son who now is 10. But last year he was diagnosed with a severe CMPA. (Cows milk protein allergy) So last Christmas I called tea by two and asked them what they could do for my son's allergy and there was nothing that they could do. We continue to go put I feel awful that my son can't enjoy a scone. read more
