I LOVE tea by two! It's probably my favorite place to eat in Bel Air. The second you walk into the adorable little tea shop, you can smell delicious scones and tea. The staff is always helpful and kind. I always get my favorite teas, Princess Katherine and Victoria and Albert. A few years back, me and my son started a kind of tradition where we'd go there right before Christmas. He loved it. The food is perfect and kid friendly for my son who now is 10. But last year he was diagnosed with a severe CMPA. (Cows milk protein allergy) So last Christmas I called tea by two and asked them what they could do for my son's allergy and there was nothing that they could do. We continue to go put I feel awful that my son can't enjoy a scone. read more

My friend treated me to afternoon tea here for my 30th birthday. Quaint cottage like building, adorable set up and service was excellent. Large selection of tea and the food was delicious. We were both skeptical about the chicken salad on cinnamon raisin bread, but pleasant surprised by the combination. My experience here was the highlight of my birthday celebrations and I can't wait for my friend and I to go back. What an incredible high tea experience! It all started at the front door. The woman who greeted me was SO sweet and pleasant. I came first thing on a Saturday morning with no reservation hoping she had a table for one. She did, although the place filled up pretty quickly over the hour I was there. I happen to sit next to a group of ladies who raved about this place. They were tea room connoisseurs and said this one was one of the best they've ever been to! I had my first lobster bisque experience and it was so delicious and presented beautifully. The honey ginger green tea was perfectly balanced between sweet and zingy! With Saturday's high tea, in addition to the soup, they gave me 4 types of tea sandwiches--the ever-popular cucumber, ham salad, cinnamon raisin and pear, and a bbq chicken melt. The scone of the day was a rich white chocolate, almond, and some sort of fruit served with cream and lemon curd. The lemon curd itself was so yummy, I could have just eaten the whole thing with the tiny serving spoon (oh wait... I did!). Lastly, the desserts included a coconut macaroon, chocolate brownie, and a sweet mini slice of cake! Overall, I had an incredible experience and everything was very reasonably priced. My friends and I were there on Nov. 29th to celebrate a birthday and a friend visiting from Florida who we had not seen in a long time..we arrived and stood and waited at least 10 minutes before someone even acknowledged us..we had reservations..When we were finally seated it took at least 15 minutes before anyone approached our table to give us a tea list..the lady walked away and no one returned for some time to take our order..now this was just our tea order...finally someone came to take our food order and our food finally came after about 20 minutes...which one had to be redone because it was not what we had ordered...we felt like we had been put in the corner and forgotten about..to top our experience off at 12:45 a lady approached our table and said that she would have to ask us to leave because she needed the table for a 1:00 reservation...of course that upset all of us because of the time it took for us to give and get our order we were still drinking our tea and finishing up our desserts..as we were leaving we noticed that there were 3 empty tables that they could of seated the other people at...needless to say that we will never go back nor will we recommend this place to anyone...this was our first visit at Tea By Two but it was our last..I emailed the owner but never received a response about our experience..I guess they don't care.. read more

Purchased a LivingSocial coupon to use at Tea by Two. I called to make a reservation three days before the coupon expired and was pleasantly informed that my coupon would not be honored because they were booked up. When I asked if they might extend the expiration date they said no chance. Of course they said that, they already have my money! A business that can't honor its commitments shouldn't be in business at all as far as I'm concerned. I hope they go out of business so some honorable business people can take their place. read more

How I love Tea by Two! It is such a quaint, wonderful little place. I always make reservations and take a good book. I usually order the Afternoon Tea with a scone, sandwiches, and an assortment of sweets. I go through two pots of tea, and they let me switch flavors if I want. The service is attentive but not bothersome, they are very good at letting me read and enjoy my time (never feel like I'm being rushed out). The decor is lovely and I've never had issues with children or it being too loud. I also adore their gift shop and usually take some tea and a scone home with me. That being said, I like to linger over tea, and I felt a little rushed by the staff. I'd recommend asking for a tea cozy right off the bat. I had a nice experience in this quaint little shop but I gave it two stars for the following reasons: 1. It took forever for our tea to come out to us. 2. I tried the chocolate cherry tea and the lavender tisane and both tasted exactly the same. The only Chai on the menu was formulated for the American palate and all I tasted was cinnamon. 3. The soup was a chicken corn chowder that I don't personally feel belongs on a High Tea menu. 4. We had to ask two times for more lemon curd because each time there was not enough to go around for the entire table. The tea sandwiches were very good and my scone was excellent. This was such a neat place. My BFF had a few of her close friends and family here to celebrate her 45th birthday. There were 11 of us and we sampled 6 or 7 teas. I have to admit, I'm not a tea person but I did enjoy this experience. We had HIGH TEA, which means we had soup or salad, followed by many small food treats (finger sandwiches, Brie, cheese bread, amazing scones). We then had many small desserts. Getting a coupon from Living Social was such a great deal. You get two High Afternoon teas for the price of one. A bargain because one is $20. So for that same amount you got two. Since the amount of food for tea is usually minimal this was a good reason to head out to Harford County. We have been here before usually once a year and also when they first opened. The place is so inviting when you enter. The gift shop has lots of adorable items related to tea and not related. Lots of tea cups, writing paper, etc. I never buy anything because I think they are too expensive but sometime there are some cute things on clearance. The house is tastefully decorated. The table cloths today were gingham blue or yellow with a strip tap the opposite color. They have cute shelves on the wall with tea cups and pots on them. After drinking pots and pots of tea you will need to use the bathroom and dont miss it anyway. It has the cutest wallpaper. They really do the tea room theme with style. The tables are well spaced but the room is small so you can overhear others at tables around you. Today it was all women and most were getting the high tea. For the first time I saw a gentleman having tea with a lady. I guess she owes him big time! The soup we ordered was lobster bisque and it was quite good. A nice creamy taste and spiced as well. The best part of the meal. We could have also chosen a salad and it had cranberries, walnuts, and various leaf lettuces, The table next to us ordered that and it looked good. The rest of the meal there was no choice. It arrived in a three tiered dish. The first layer was scones. They were white chocolate and came with a sweet cream and custard. They were cold and I prefer them warm . They were ok, a little dry, and . nothing really special. The four sandwiches which you know are small were ham, chicken, cucumber, and egg salad. The bread was a little stiff on some of them. I enjoyed the egg salad as it had some nice seasoning on it. The cucumber with cream cheese no reason to comment on that.....the ham was not very good. Not really any taste to it. My favorite was the chicken because they put it on raisin bread which gave it a nice taste, Desserts were a little piece of cake with creamy icing. Again not sure if it was homemade there as it tasted like something from a store bakery. The cookie which I forgot what it was and this is a good thing as it was hard. I dont enjoy hard cookies. The last dessert I did enjoy it was like a cheese cake in a small tart. It has some honey on the top and that is what gave it the great taste. We tried four teas. The Summer Mango was my favorite. The two herbal teas we tried were good. The one with caramel was sweet and needed no sugar. The service was good. All our questions about the tea were answered . I thought the tea took longer than it should to brew. We had to wait for it to finish our dessert. The dining area was full so I am assuming that was the problem. We will go to the tea room again as we have found it is the one we like the best in this area. Their prices have gone up of course but I feel the quality has not followed. My Mother and I went here on a senior bus trip. The place is lovely. The food was great. The staff cheerful and kind. My Mother and I go to every tea house we can and this is one of the nicest we have ever been to. The only problem is that there is only one bathroom and with a bus full of elderly women drinking pots of tea well wish they had another bathroom but no room to enlarge so we made the best of it. We love Tea By Two! I have read some negative posts, which really surprised me. I have been many times. We always make a reservation and we are never rushed, although this is a busy place. I believe the reason that they are able to serve people in this manner is because they give ample time for your reservation (stay). The Windsor Salad is everyone's favorite, but I've NEVER been disappointed by anything on the menu. The tea is delicious and I love how you can try different flavors. They will bring you whatever you would like to try as many times as you'd like. I have always been asked if we are bringing a child under the age of 5 (I think it was 5). This enables the guests to enjoy themselves without catering to younger ones. I do believe they have certain times for children but I could be wrong as my children are over the age of 5. Tea by Two is one of my favorite places to go with my friends. We go several times a year to celebrate our birthdays. The food is always tasty and they are more than eager to adjust what is offered if we don't like what is standard fare. We regularly ask for changes such as 'no nuts' or 'two of those and none of those' with the sandwiches. The owners are very kind and work to make it a great experience each and every time. I've been to several tea houses in MD and PA and Tea by Two is by far the best I've visited. I've never had issues with children or having it too loud. I'm heading there this weekend and taking my in-laws for the first time. They've heard me rave about it for years! read more

I have also had a girls 13th birthday party in their special little room. The girls had a wonderful time and particularly enjoyed the cupcake in a cup! You might think you can't possibly get filled up with scones and finger sandwiches, but the high tea leaves me more than satisfied, and actually quite filled up. I've been to Tea by Two several times and have had a wonderful and relaxing experience each time. So much so I set up a bridal shower for my sister that she still talks about 4 months later. Always almond-scented, studded with a changing variety of dried fruit. Soup, finger sandwiches and mini-desserts vary daily, served on a 3-tiered stand. My husband and I came for my birthday and actually had a very nice experience. We chatted with the host and the service was nice. I wanted to share this experience with a friend of mine, and returned during the week when it was not busy at all, and there were many tables available. It also wasthat's what I understood. But we were told that tables were booked (there were only a raining heavily that day, so I didn't see a long line out the door. Walk-ins are welcome, at least handful of people that day). Now, I really think that our ethnicity was the reason we were not seated. It would not be the first time in Bel Air that service was skewed due to race or whatever notion was taken when walking through the door. It's a shame, I come from a military community, and I will certainly share this. I would have certainly had meetings and other events at this establishment, but not when I don't feel welcome! I absolutely LOVE Tea By Two! My mom and I have been going there for special occasions for years. We especially enjoy the event teas. I recently attended the annual Christmas tea, and it was magical. The food is delicious, the setting is quaint, and the staff are warm and friendly. The special touches they add can't be found elsewhere. I highly recommend it! We have been to Tea by Two many times before and had an absolute horrible experience during our recent visit; we won't be returning ever! There were six individuals in our party, including three children. One individual brought a newborn with her and after two employees stood right near us, discussing our party and staring at us, we were told that they do not allow infants and that we were asked if there would be children in our party. I explained that yes, there are three children in our party and I stated that when I called. No one ever asked if there would be an infant or stated that infants are not allowed. We were then told that the sign on the door says no infants...little too late at that point. We were then told that they would make an exception this time and seat us with an infant; however, we were to keep the infant in the carrier at all times and immediately remove the infant should she cry...wasn't aware that we needed to be told how to care for a child. The rudeness was appalling and the situation was handled completely wrong. The mother of the infant left in tears because she felt so not wanted, and we all would have left and not spent a penny there had it not been one of the children's birthdays. When a customer leaves in tears, clearly something wasn't handled correctly. The appropriate way to handle the situation would have been to have said nothing until the end and to have just let us know that for future reference, they don't seat parties with infants. They did provide a to go meal for the individual who left in tears and comp one other item; however, after the way we were made to feel, the whole bill should have been comped. It was an absolutely horrible experience and we will we be going elsewhere for tea in the future. read more
