Teado is a bubble tea staple here in Boston's Chinatown. If you ever need a solid drink, this is the place to go. I usually get fruit teas here as I think they outshine their milk teas, but their taro and regular style are pretty good. I will say that I had a bad experience with the matcha once ( I could literally feel the powder ) so I wouldn't recommend that. Their drinks are pretty tasty and reasonably priced. Their toppings are always solid as well and I've never had poorly made bubbles so I think they're very consistent. Their onigiri is also pretty decent if you ever want a quick snack and it seems like they've expanded their menu to include more meal-like dishes so it seems like they're doing well. Convenient and fairly priced for a quick boba run. It's definitely not the best boba you can find in Boston but it'll definitely satisfy cravings without having to travel too far. I came to Tea Do on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. The line was worth the wait, though. There was a big group of us and we tried a few different tea - all of them were excellent! This appears to be my go-to bubble tea stop when I am in Boston. Although it's typically crowded and the space is a bit small, they have many drink selections on the menu. I went for their taro bubble milk tea and mango green tea during my last visit. There was tea essence (it bugs me when bubble tea don't taste like tea) and the boba was perfectly soft and chewy. My all time favorite late night, after rehearsal hangout in Boston, Tea Do gets the prize for not only having the best bubble tea in the city, but also some of the best Japanese snack foods, like onigiri (stuffed rice triangles with various fillings - try the tender and flavorful salmon) and takoyaki (fried octopus). My go-to was always the Coconut bubble tea, which is cold, and satisfying after a long night of dance rehearsals or dealing with screaming actors, however the Thai tea is equally as impressive, boasting a bold flavor tempered by cream. I recently visited and was impressed by their Juliet tea, which is a rose pomegranate flavored tea with aloe jelly, which I subbed for yogurt popping bubbles. It was very different, but refreshing and tasty. And it was inspired by Shakespeare, so how could it have been more perfect? There is usually a line, which is a testament to the popularity of this small but venerable spot, however, it moves pretty quickly. You'll also need some time to look over their extensive menu, so maybe waiting isn't such a bad thing. Tea Do is one of my favorite bubble tea places in Boston! For the price they charge, their portion sizes are extremely generous compared to other bubble tea stores. I ordered the black milk tea with pearls and it was about $6.50 for a large. The large was actually a huge amount, it was almost an XL to me haha. The workers at Tea Do were super friendly and nice. It is generally always quite busy and packed so most likely you'll have to wait at least 10 minutes. Other than that, I absolutely love tea do! I ordered the Fire Dragon and immediately had nostalgia of the "red bean ice" drink I used to have as a kid at HK cafes. Drink was really good and not too sweet! I didn't even have to do any sugar adjustments (less sugar is just less red bean since there is no syrup). One thing I was hesitant about was that they did not control how many people were in the store. There were at least 4-5 groups of 3+ ppl in that tiny ordering area. I get that we all have masks on but in these COVID times, they should be more vigilant. Okay, first google maps a little lacking - it was about 45 min to fireworks and it was drizzly and had to find a spot in Boston Commons for fireworks and of course all Dunkin and Sbux closed so google maps - coffee near me - Panera Bread was jam-packed and so closest place was Teado - never heard of it but beggars can't be choosers. As we entered unofficially into Chinatown I started to put 2 and 2 together and realize that we weren't getting coffee. This place seems super trendy - definitely out of my league according to my wife despite my thinking I'm super trendy. Asked the guy if they had any hot coffee drinks and he indicated that mochi drinks could be made hot and not wanting to waste anymore time - he said Zens Awakening would be closest to a coffee drink but it woudl be cold. Immediately agreed and five minutes later I was off to the fireworks. Didn't make it fancy - no boba, no extras and you know what while waiting for the fireworks in the rain - I decided to puncture the top with their humongous straw (that doubles as a device to ward off predators) and this drink was super tasty. I came on Saturday at 1:40pm and this place was PACKED. Nonetheless, I was in and out in about 10min, including the time I waited on line, ordered, and then waited for my order. This is a small shop with 4 tables that can seat 2-3 people each and then 2 longer tables that can seat larger groups near the entrance. The ordering process was very smooth & there was one person manning the cashier with 2 others processing the orders. After ordering, the staff will give you a numbered ticket (e.g. T-630) which they will call out when your drink is ready. You really have to be paying attention when they call your order though since it can be hard to hear with all the chatter and somewhat loud background music. One of the staff was kind enough to wave me over to pick up my drink because I mistakenly thought they called just number 30 and not 630. THE DRINK: I ordered a small Almond Jasmine Milk Tea with boba. The total came out to $5.10 including taxes. There is a lot of drink even in a small cup, and I spent a good hour sipping on my bubble tea while walking around Boston Common. To be honest, I didn't like the flavor of my drink very much... I imagined it might have a subtle almond taste like you would expext from almond milk, but instead it had a VERY prominent almond paste/almond extract flavor that was a bit too overpowering for me. The jasmine taste did also come through, but I didn't feel like the taste was very balanced overall. Just not my thing, but if you're into almonds, then this drink is right up your alley. The boba made up for the flavor as it never became soggy or mushy even after an hour & the bubbles maintained their perfect chewiness throughout all the sips. 10/10 for the tapioca. I will definitely be returning to Tea-Do to try other flavors and their famed onigiri and takoyaki the next time I'm in Chinatown :) read more

Due to covid, we didn't get the full experience. They are taking orders right at the door like fast food McDonald drive through style. You walk up to the door and there's a piece of plastic between you and the cashier. The menu is visible through the class next to the door. You order, get off the steps and wait for your number to be called. We ordered the tiger tea and the fresh avocado shake. Both were good. I wouldn't say this is the best boba spot but it doesn't disappoint and offers what you are seeking for. Thankfully Chinatown is pretty adventurous and offers nice people watching so we walked around with our boba teas before returning back to the car that we street parked. read more

I have been to the Tea Do in Philadelphia before coming to this location, and both locations have served me thirst-quenching tea. I am a fan and just can't get enough! This place is sure to satisfy your bubble tea craving just as it did for me. There was a short line when I walked in. It can get confusing on who is actually in line versus who is not. The space is quite small, and some people are just standing around waiting for their tea to come out. Once you place your order, the staff will put the ingredients in a cup and set it in a slot on an automatic bubble tea shaker machine. This frees up time for the staff to start on another person's tea to put in a different slot on the machine. The process seems very efficient and helps ensure consistency in drinks. It only took about 5-8 minutes for my drink to be made after ordering. After you get your drink, you might be lucky enough to snag a table but don't be surprised if not. As mentioned earlier, the space is small and people like to hang out. This isn't a problem to me though, as I enjoy my bubble tea best on foot and exploring the rest of Chinatown. I ordered the Hulk tea (kiwi, green apple, lychee, aloe jelly). It is served cold with a nice sourness and fruit taste. I love the chunks of aloe jelly. I found it very refreshing. I will be back to try other flavors, especially the Thai tea - this seems to be one of the most popular flavors, so that's what I'm getting next time! read more
