    Miso Eggplant & Crispy Rice
    Shreya G.

Wanted to love it...but it just missed the mark. After reading other reviews, I ordered online and my food was ready on time. It was PACKED when I got there, so I understand what creates a long wait if you order in person. The space itself is very pretty and colorful which I liked a lot. The food. It was...meh. It was really chewy and gritty. I got the eggplant and mushroom bowl. I am saying this as someone who loves eggplants and mushrooms, they were just ok. It was kinda goopy, and then being paired with the crispy rice it was just a weird mouth feel. As for the flavor- they drowned it in that sauce which overpowered everything. The price point is really good for lunch in boston, but honestly I wouldn't get it again.

Life Alive reminds me of a place that would be in California. I miss all the fresh fruit and vegetables there so much! Life Alive is Great spot for healthy, fresh, veggie-forward meals. They have a big selection of bowls, salads and sandwiches. Even the meat eaters will find something they like! There are also lots of delicious juices, fun lemonade flavors like lavender and strawberry basil (highly recommend) as well as smoothies, coffees and an addictive chai. Service is efficient - you order at the counter and put a number on your table and they bring you your food. You bus your own dishes. The decor is fun, casual and cheerful. They have a ton of spots in the area, some with outdoor seating.

Live Alive has been a new go-to cafe for me. If I'm in a hurry, there is a fridge with quick items like the "chia power bowl" which is a favorite of mine. If you have a few minutes to wait, the staff is usually very quick with to-go items. In the morning I love their egg sandwich and a matcha. Lunch time I enjoy an açaí bowl or squash bisque. There are many healthy options offered that can accommodate most allergies. The interior of the Boylston location is very cool. I have not dined in there but the seating looks inviting to chat with a friend over lunch or grab a coffee and work.

This is another great Life Alive location, just one block from the Public Garden. Fresh, delicious, and healthy ingredients with filling portion sizes at reasonable prices. We got the Shitake Udon and the Buddha Bowl and both were great. The udon came at the perfect warm-but-not-too-hot temperature and the Buddha bowl had the perfect mix of flavors and textures. After ordering at the counter, our food came out within ten minutes. The only thing to note is that the seating area is smaller than other Life Alive locations and the tables are very close to each other. We got veryyy cozy with our neighbors, so it's probably not the best place if you're looking for some peace and quiet.

Very fresh ingredients an prices are decent, salads are very light so if you're hungry get the warm bowl.

Have tried a couple locations in Boston - this shop is in a fun area right off Newbury Street with nice seating. Love the variety of vegetarian options - bowls, handhelds, noodles, and salads. Everything packed with lots of veggie and flavor. Ordered the mushroom shawarma bowl which was perfect - balance of savory and dense with light and fresh cucumber and hummus. Can't go wrong with anything at Life Alive!

Loveeee their strawberry bliss smoothie! I get it every time! The servers & cashiers are really nice & it's one of my fav spots to go to in back bay!

Life Alive is BY FAR one of my favorite chains in Boston, especially for a casual meal with friends or a healthy comforting bite while studying. However, I have to say, this location left me a little disappointed :/ They're service was slow despite not being very busy, and the location itself had an unusual layout making it feel cramped, not to mention some clutter across multiple tables. Additionally, when we received our food, still fresh and copious as ever, I felt it lacked seasoning. It just didn't feel like it was made with care. On a more positive note, we got our food pretty quickly and with no other issues! The meals are huge as well, especially for the price, and the flavors that were there were absolutely delicious and nutritious as well! I'm a huge fan of this place in general and don't discourage anyone from trying it out when you get the chance or if you're in the area looking for lunch!

I ordered a go green juice and received a lukewarm juice in a bottle and the smoothies are mainly ice no fruit flavor and turmeric latte was awful too.

The restaurant has a very positive vibe and is a good place to socialize. The menu is extensive with many healthy options. Once you order you get a number for the staff to bring you your food. There's self-serve water in the dining area. The food comes out really quick! The spicy peanut noodles comes in a huge size and can be shared. The sauce is very flavorful without being too saucy. The tofu is cooked with a satisfying crunch and the peanuts goes well with the dish. Every bite is satisfying and the price can't be beat.

This has become my go to spot when I'm in Boston for work. The food is delicious and fresh, and everything is made with such attention to detail! If you're looking for a healthy place for breakfast or lunch, this is it!

Literally went in for the erewhon blue spirulina drink dupe! It tasted healthy but not a ton of flavor otherwise. Still enjoyed it as a refreshing drink walking around back bay! The vibe was cool in there, lots of people hanging out, the drink bar was super busy and they have a nice staff. There is space for you to grab a bite, sip on your drink and do some work. Bathrooms were super clean. I'd come back!

    PB Cup Acai
    Austin Z.

Mobile ordered for work lunch. Was ready on-time for pick-up even in the middle of the lunch rush. PB Cup Acai Bowl was a treat! Although a bit small for the price tag (comparing mentally to Playa Bowl size), quality was still great. The açaí was a bit frozen-ish when I started getting into it, but would rather it be on the colder side than other way around. Would recommend!

I came here 4 times when in town for a conference, as this way super conveniently located to the conference center (Menino). It's open 7am-10pm daily, is always seemingly busy but always very efficient and fast to deliver orders, and has a huge amount of comfortable seating. First visit: I tried the vegan breakfast burrito ($12), a nicely designed burrito with tofu, potato, spinach, roasted red peppers, vegan cheese, and mushrooms, served with salsa on the side. Very solid burrito. The Spanish burrito I tried another day--which came with vegan meatballs of some sort--was even better. Second visit: I got an açai bowl ($9 for the small size; $12 for regular), and added vegan protein powder ($2) blended in. It came with açai blended with almond milk, banana, strawberries, blueberries, and granola. Real good and plentiful even for the small size. Third visit: just ordered a bagel with vegan cream cheese that had tomato in it, and added some spinach on top ($5.50 total). Very generous spinach portion (for $0.50!), well-toasted bagel, and an appropriate amount of cream cheese. Very tasty. Moreover, each time I visited, I ordered a double espresso ($3.50), which was excellent. Proper espresso, deep body, strong, served with sparkling water and a piece of dark chocolate.

The Platters, both the breakfast and mezze are gorgeous. Pictures attached. The interior has ample seating and is bright and beautiful. We walked into a space that mixes communal tables, stadium-style seating, and smaller spots to sit, making it a place where you can stop in for a quick drink or stay longer with a laptop. The interior design is one of the biggest highlights, giving the cafe a more elevated experience compared to a typical coffee shop. The tiered seating in particular creates a visual dynamic that makes the room feel more intentional than your standard coffee counter. The drinks are the main focus here, especially the matcha, hojicha, and espresso-based options. We ordered the hojicha latte, which was one of the strongest items on the menu, with a deep roasted flavor and a smooth texture. The matcha has a more traditional earthy profile and leans less sweet, which works well if you prefer a more authentic matcha taste. The drinks are on the expensive side, but the quality of the ingredients and preparation make it feel more like a specialty cafe experience rather than a standard coffee stop. The food and dessert options add another reason to visit, with items like the egg sandwich, quiche, macarons, and hojicha desserts available depending on the day. The menu is smaller compared to a full brunch cafe, but it pairs well with the drinks and gives the visit more of a cafe-and-pastry feel. Service is friendly and the staff are knowledgeable about the drinks, which helps when choosing between the different Japanese tea options. The cafe can get busy, and seating is limited compared to the number of people who come through, but the layout gives it a unique character. Ogawa Coffee works well for specialty coffee and tea lovers looking for a more intentional cafe experience in Boston, especially if you enjoy Japanese-style drinks and a thoughtfully designed space.
